Salim Kumar turns director
National award winning actor Salim Kumar has turned director and it was indeed a very big news in Mollywood for quite a long time. Now the film is finished its shoot and in the post –production stage and getting ready for release. The film has titled as Compartment and it is a special film. The specialty of this film is that the lead characters in this film, including the hero and heroine, has been done by children and that too not normal children. The children who are considered as special children due to their growth problems both mentally and physically had done the central characters.
Apart from them popular actors like Super star Suresh Gopi, Kalabhavan Mani, Kalabhavan Shajon, K P S E Lalitha, Kochu Preman, Nilambur Ayisha, Anjali Upasana, Laya Jose, Vinod Kedamangalam, Aby etc also became the part of this movie. The story and screen play of the film has also done by the director Salim Kumar himself and he said to the media that he has told the story fully in a very humorous way and it will be something to watch out.
He also said to the media and through it to the malayali audience that he needs their support and prayers if the film is good and even if the film has raised up to their expectation they had to respond to him as he is waiting for their valuable responses. He also said that it may be the first in world cinema which has these special children playing the central roles in a full length feature film.
Salim Kumar is not that much active in his acting career after he got national award for best actor few years ago for his mind blowing performance in Adaminte Makan Abu which was conceived by Salim Ahammed. Salim Kumar later acted in only a few films and he always tried to do character which has some relevance in the film and also chose films which offers anything good for the spectators.
Salim Kumar is one of the best ever actor in comic roles Malayalam cinema has ever produced and he had acted in almost 250 films in his fairly long career. A contest for charity, by My God movie team
Cinema is a medium which takes the stories from lives around, sometimes present it with 100% originality and most of the times exaggerates to make it more entertaining. But Cinema and people from the film industry always there for the common people with their help and eye opening creative works. The cast and Crew behind one such upcoming Mollywood film named ‘My God’ is planning such a social welfare program.
They are organizing a painting contest for children of different age groups in association with Kairali Books and Winwin group. The contest will be conducted state-wide for Lkg , Ukg, Lp, UP, high school, plus two students and the pictures chosen from the lot will be there for an exhibition at Kannur town Square at the kairali books-winwin group food festival. The money obtained from the selling of that paintings will be given to the Malabar cancer center fund for the treatment of financially poor patients. The entries for the contest will have to be sent to the address kairali books, Thaalikkavu Kannur-1 and also to the email address kairalibooksknr@gmail.com before March 31.
Contestants should attain and enclose the letter from the school principal as a proof for their eligibility. One contestant can send only one painting. The prize should be distributed at the day of exhibition. Along with the exhibition there will be a food festival, classes on great foods, leadership quality and also a book festival for children. My God is directed by M Mohanan and the cast list includes Suresh Gopi, Honey Rose, Sreenivasan, Joy Mathew etc. Jithu Damodar is the DOP of the film and Bijipal is the music director. The story of the film revolves around the teenager Sam Thottunkal, the son of Thomas Scaria and Zareena who is an introvert even Though he has all for a happy life. His parents ‘s attitude is that what makes him like that and on the course of his life he happens to get in touch with Adiraja Bhattadirippad, the CEO of an IT company, his wife Arya, who is a child psychologist, and the parish priest named Father Vadakken and the film narrates the events after that.

Chandini Sreedharan, a new heroine in Mollywood floor
Chandini Sreedharan is the latest entry into Mollywwod actress list. She is been chosen as the heroine of Unni Mukundan in the film KL10 Pathu. The film will be directed by debutant Mushin pararee and it will be produced by director Lal Jose under his production banner LJ films. But Chandini is not a debutant in acting career. She has already acted in one Tamil film and also in one Telugu film.
Now for the first time this Malayali actress is going to act in her own language Malayalam. If we asked her “who is chandi sreedhar..?” she will give a reply that she is the disciple of the master craftsman Kamal. She was first appeared in a TV reality show as a contestant in which Lal jose was one of the Judges. But she started her acting career in Tamil and later acted in Telugu.
She said that she is keeping a great relationship with Lal Jose and she says that she always calls him whenever she is signing new films. She really happy now to enter into Mollywood that too in a film which is produced by her mentor Lal Jose himself. Chandini Sreedharan is not just an actress alone. She is a good singer as well as dancer. Chandini made her debut through the Tamil film titled Ainthum Ainthum Ainthum(555) in which young star bharath was her pair.
Later she acted in a telugu film named Chakkiligintha which was directed by famous script writer Vema Reddy. Her performance in both these films was well appreciated by the critics and that paved the way for her entry into Mollywood through the film KL10 Pathu produced by LJ films which is one of the most prominent film production and distribution company in Mollywood.
Her character name in this film is Shadhiya and she will play the character of a typical Malabar Muslim girl in this film with all those special Muslim girl’s costumes such as “thattam”. Shadhiya is the friend and lover of Ahammed(played by Unni Mukundan) who is a football player in this film. KL10 Pathu had already generated great expectation among the audience and hope it will be a great debut for Chandini Sreedharan in Mollywood.
Major Mahadevan is all set to be back
Major Mahadevan is one of the evergreen character and also one of epic proportions in Mollywood. We can say that this character is the most famous Military character ever made in Mollywood. As you all know the creator of this character is Major Ravi and the one who made this character one of the best in Indian cinema is arguably the greatest actor living in our country today, the one and only Mohanlal. As per report Major Ravi- Mohanlal team is coming together again and that too with the character Major Mahadevan.
Earlier reports came in that Mohanlal and Major Ravi will do a film different from the military atmosphere and it will a family thriller. But now the reports coming in with a different story which tells that, it will be another military story that tells the incidents that happened in the 1971 Indo-Pak war. It will be the 5th film of Mohanlal- Major Ravi combination. Their first film was Keerthichakra the film which introduced Major Mahadevan to Mollywood film lovers. It was major Ravi’s second film and it was one of the biggest blockbuster of that year.
Then came up with Kurukshetra which told the story of Kargil war and Major Mahadevan is the hero of that film too which a success even though not a big one as of Keerthichakra. Their third outing but ends up in a disaster which was Kandahar which told the story of a plane Hijack. The film had none other than Amitab bachchan in a cameo role and it created so much hype before the release and ends up as a failed mission from the team. Their last outing was Karmayodha which was a cop story and that too not well received at box office.
After two back to back failures Major Ravi is back with a success this year with Picket 43 in which Prithviraj was the hero and that too a suggestion of Mohanlal as Major Ravi went with it to Mohanlal first. The new film will be a big budget film and reports also heard that Prithviraj or another young hero also will be a part of that film.
