Release of Prithviraj’s Kaduva postponed

Prithviraj Sukumaran starrer Kaduva was supposed to hit screens on June 30. However, the makers have postponed the release due to some unforeseen circumstances. Prithviraj, who is also producing the film along with Listin Stephen’s Magic Frames, took to his social media handle to inform about the postponing of release to July 7. He has written,

#KADUVA release has been postponed by one week to 07/07/2022 due to unforeseen circumstances.
We will continue with all promotional activities as scheduled and keep faith in all your love and support for this mass action entertainer.

Kaduva directed by Shaji Kailas is touted to be an action mass entertainer. Jinu V Abraham has scripted the film, which also stars Vivek Oberoi, Samyuktha Menon, Priyanka Nair, Arjun Ashokan, Baiju and Alencier.

Rajeev Ravi’s Kuttavum Shikshayum starts streaming on Netflix

After its tame theatrical run, ‘Kuttavum Shikshayum’, has started streaming on Netflix. The film had hit screens on May 27. Though the critic reviews were largely positive, it got lukewarm response among the general audience. Directed by Rajeev Ravi, the film saw a lot of delays before it finally got its theatrical release.

‘Kuttavum Shikshayum’ stars Asif Ali, Sunny Wayne, Sharafudheen, Alencier Ley Lopez and Senthil Krishna as the leads. The film is an investigation thriller based on a real-life incident of a jewellery robbery that occurred in Kasargod in 2015. The case took a 5-member team from Kerala police to a dreaded village in Uttar Pradesh where they risked their lives to arrest the culprits.

Asif Ali essays the role of a Circle Inspector named Sajan Philip in the film. Sunny Wayne, Sharafudheen, Alencier Ley Lopez and Senthil Krishna also play cops in it. Sibi Thomas, a policeman in real life, scripted ‘Kuttavum Shikshayum’ along with journalist Sreejith Divakaran.

Suresh Gopi and Jayaraj reunite for Highway 2

On the occasion of Suresh Gopi’s birthday, it has been announced that the actor will be teaming up with director Jayaraj for a sequel to their 1995-film ‘Highway’. The upcoming film, billed as a mystery action thriller, will be produced by Leema Jospeh.

‘Highway’ was an action crime thriller produced by Prem Prakash and scripted by Sab John. Apart from Suresh Gopi, the film also starred Bhanupriya, Biju Menon, Vijayaraghavan and Janardhanan in supporting roles.

The film had Suresh Gopi playing Sreedhar Prasad (Gopi), a RAW officer assigned with the task of investigating a bomb blast that killed 30 college students. For the investigation, he disguises himself under the codename Mahesh Aravind. The film was a commercial success at the box office and its dubbed Telugu version was also a big hit in Andhra Pradesh. It is not yet known if the new film will be the continuation of Sreedhar Prasad’s story.

Suresh Gopi currently has ‘Ottakomban’ and an untitled mass entertainer with Rahul Ramachandran lined up.

Dulquer Salmaan’s Sita Ramam teaser is impressive

The teaser of Dulquer Salmaan’s upcoming trilingual film ‘Sita Ramam’ got released last day. It has been shared in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam languages.
Directed by Telugu filmmaker Hanu Raghavapudi of ‘Padi Padi Leche Manasu’ fame, the film titled is touted to be a period love story. It has Dulquer playing an army officer named Lieutenant Ram. While Mrunal Thakur is paired with Dulquer in the film, Rashmika Mandanna essays an important role named Afreen. Director Gautham Vasudev Menon is also said to be part of the cast.

Swapna Cinema is producing ‘Sita Ramam’ and Priyanka Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies will be presenting it. The film has music scored by Vishal Chandrashekhar and cinematography by PS Vinod. It is slated to hit screens on August 5.

Dulquer has a few other projects lined up. In Hindi, he will be next seen in ‘Chup: The Revenge of an Artist’, directed by R Balki. The film, which is touted as a psychological thriller, also stars Pooja Bhatt, ‘Scam 1992’ fame Shreya Dhanwanthary and Sunny Deol. He has ‘King of Kotha’ and ‘Othiram Kadakam’ lined up in Malayalam.

Anirudh to compose music for Dileep’s Parakkum Pappan?

Back in 2018, it was announced that Dileep would be starring in a film titled ‘Parakkum Pappan’. With script by Rafi and direction by debutant Viyan Vishnu, it was said to be a local superhero flick. However, there has been no updates about the project ever since then.

The latest we hear is that the makers are trying to revive the project. Tamil cinema’s top music director Anirudh Ravichander is said to be in talks to compose music for the film. If he gets on board, this will mark his Malayalam debut. Earlier, Anirudh had lent his vocals for a Tamil song in Alphonse Puthren’s ‘Premam’.

‘Parakkum Pappan’ will be produced jointly by Dileep’s Graand Productions and Carnival Motion Pictures. More details are expected to be officially announced shortly.

Dhanush and Anirudh reunite after 7 years; Thaai Kelavi song from Thiruchitrambalam out

As reported earlier, Dhanush and Anirudh Ravichander are teaming up after 7 years for the star’s upcoming film ‘Thiruchitrambalam’. The makers have released the first song titled ‘Thaai Kelavi’. Dhanush has penned the lyrics as well as sung the track. He has previously worked with Anirudh in blockbuster albums like ‘3’, ‘VIP’, ‘Maari’ and ‘Thanga Magan’.

‘Thiruchitrambalam’ is directed by Mithran Jawahar with whom Dhanush has earlier teamed up in ‘Yaaradi Nee Mohini’, ‘Kutty’ and ‘Uthamaputhiran’. The film promises to a wholesome entertainer. While Dhanush plays the titular role, the film has Nithya Menen, Priya Bhavani Shankar and Raashi Khanna as the female leads. Prakash Raj and Bharathiraja will also be seen in prominent roles in the film.

‘Thiruchitrambalam’ has Om Prakash as the cinematographer and Prasanna GK as the editor. Produced by Sun Pictures, the film is scheduled to hit screens on August 18.

Prithviraj starrer ‘Kaduva’ is all set to hit screens on June 30. Since the film has been planned to be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi languages, the makers have also shared the teaser in all these languages. Interestingly, the Kannada version of the teaser is garnering good response in social media. It must be noted that Prithviraj was recently in Bangalore for the film’s promotion. He also visited Hyderabad last day. The team will be Chennai on 27th June and Kochi on 28th June.

‘Kaduva’ directed by Shaji Kailas promises to be a high voltage action-packed entertainer. Jinu V Abraham has scripted the film. He has earlier penned films like ‘Masters’ and ‘London Bridge’, besides directing ‘Adam Joan’. Set in the 90s, ‘Kaduva’ has Prithviraj playing a character named Kaduvakunnel Kuruvachan. Vivek Oberoi plays the antagonist’s role of an IPS officer.

Samyuktha Menon, Baiju, Sai Kumar, Siddique, Arjun Ashokan, Alencier Ley, Janardhanan, Aju Varghese, Rahul Madhav, Vijayaraghavan, Seema, Kochu Preman and Priyanka are also part of the supporting cast.

‘Kaduva’ is produced by Prithviraj Productions along with Listin Stephen’s Magic Frames.

It is superstar Suresh Gopi’s birthday today and the makers of his upcoming film ‘SG 251’ have chosen this occasion to release the second look poster. The actor looks menacing in the poster has he holds a blood-splattered knife with a ‘Scarface’ poster in the backdrop. The film is to be directed by Rahul Ramachandran of ‘Jeem Boom Bhaa’ fame and debutant Sameen Salim has penned the script.

Suresh Gopi will be appearing in two different looks in the film. The earlier released first look had him sporting a salt and pepper getup. It is said that the story is set in two timelines and hence the two looks for each phase of the character. Ethereal Entertainments is producing the film and August Cinemas will be distributing it.

We had previously reported about Taapsee Pannu starring in ‘Shabaash Mithu’, the biopic of Mithali Raj, arguably the greatest woman cricketer to have represented India. As the film gets ready for release on July 15, the makers have shared its trailer online. It chronicles the ups and downs and moments of glory of Mithali’s life right from her childhood. The film is directed by National-award winner Srijit Mukherji and scripted by Priya Aven.

Mithali Raj, who retired recently, is a veteran with over 20 years of experience in international cricket. She is regarded as one of the greatest batswomen to have ever played the game. Mithali holds numerous records like being the highest run-scorer in women’s international cricket and the only female cricketer to surpass the 6,000 run mark in WODIs. She is also the only woman cricketer to have played over 200 ODIs.

Taapsee underwent rigorous cricket training as part of preparations for the film and it is evident from the trailer. Vijay Raaz also plays a prominent role as her coach. Viacom18 Studios and Colosceum Media Production are jointly producing the film, which has music by Amit Trivedi and edits handled by Sreekar Prasad.

Kolamaavu Kokila remake: Janhvi Kapoor’s Good Luck Jerry to get a direct OTT release

We had earlier reported about Nayanthara’s hit Tamil film ‘Kolamaavu Kokila’ aka ‘Ko Ko’ being remade in Hindi. Janhvi Kapoor is starring in the film’s Hindi version which has been titled ‘Good Luck Jerry’ Debutant Siddharth Sengupta is directing the film and Anand L Rai is producing it. The makers have now announced that the film will be releasing directly on Disney + Hotstar on July 29. This is Janhvi’s second film to get a direct OTT release after ‘Gunjan Saxena’ (Netflix).

‘Kolamaavu Kokila’ directed by Nelson Dilipkumar is a heroine-centric crime comedy. The film got released in 2018 and was well received. Critics praised Nayanthara’s performance and Anirudh’s music, which was the film’s biggest highlight. It eventually went on to become a box office success.

The Hindi version, ‘Good Luck Jerry’ is expected to be tweaked to suit the sensibilities of the North Indian audience. Pankaj Matta is adapting the script. The film also stars Deepak Dobriyal, Mita Vashisht, Neeraj Sood and Sushant Singh. The film is bankrolled jointly by Lyca Productions and Aanand L Rai’s Colour Yellow Productions.
