Pen Poove Thenvande: First song from Dulquer Salmaan’s Sita Ramam is here

We had earlier reported about Dulquer Salmaan starring in a trilingual film directed by Telugu filmmaker Hanu Raghavapudi of ‘Padi Padi Leche Manasu’ fame. The film titled ‘Sita Ramam’ is touted to be a period love story in which Dulquer plays an army officer named Lieutenant Ram. While Mrunal Thakur is paired with Dulquer in the film, Rashmika Mandanna essays an important role named Afreen.

Last day, the makers released the first single from the film in Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu languages. The Malayalam version titled ‘Pen Poove Thenvande’ has its lyrics penned by Arun Alat. Vishal Chandrashekhar has composed and arranged the track, which has vocals by Sharreth and Nithya Mammen.

Swapna Cinema is producing ‘Sita Ramam’ and Priyanka Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies will be presenting it. The film has music scored by Vishal Chandrashekhar and cinematography by PS Vinod. The makers are yet to announce yet anything regarding the release plans.

Sai Pallavi to star opposite Sivakarthikeyan in Kamal Haasan’s next production

We had earlier reported about Kamal Haasan producing Sivakarthikeyan’s new film to be directed by Rajkumar Periasamy of ‘Rangoon’ fame. Kamal is backing the film in association with Sony Pictures. This collaboration marks Sony’s foray into Tamil cinema.

Last day, it was announced that Sai Pallavi will be playing the female lead’s role in the film. Kamal took to his Twitter handle to share photos taken with the actress and director Rajkumar. This is the first time Sai Pallavi will be sharing screen with Sivakarthikeyan, so expectations will be high for the new pair.

So far, the makers are yet to reveal any details about the project as it is still in the early stages.

Sivakarthikeyan, who was last seen in the blockbuster ‘Doctor’, has multiple projects lined up. His next release will be ‘Don’, slated to hit screens on May 13. The sci-fi thriller ‘Ayalaan’ and a couple of untitled projects with ‘Jathi Ratnalu’ fame Anudeep KV and ‘Mandela’ fame Madonne Ashwin are his other projects in the kitty.

With Kamal Haasan’s much-awaited film ‘Vikram’ gearing up to hit screens on June 3, excitement among the fans are increasing. It was recently announced that the film’s trailer and audio will be launched on May 15.

Meanwhile, the first single from the film is set to be shared on May 11. Kamal himself has sung and penned the track titled ‘Pathala Pathala’. Anirudh Ravichander is composing music for the film. It is the first time is working on a Kamal-starrer and naturally, expectations are huge.

‘Vikram’ touted to be an action-packed entertainer also stars Fahadh Faasil and Vijay Sethupathi as the leads. The cast also includes Narain, Kalidas Jayaram, Hareesh Peradi, Shivani Narayanan and many others. It has cinematography by Girish Gangadharan, music by Anirudh, edits by Philomin Raj and stunts handled by AnbAriv duo.

Kamal Haasan’s own banner Raaj Kamal Film International (RKFI) is producing the film. Udhayanidhi Stalin’s Red Giant Movies will be distributing it in Tamil Nadu.

Last day, the makers of ‘Thalapathy 66’, Vijay’s next with Vamshi Paidipally, announced new additions in the film’s cast. Along with that, they also confirmed that they are planning a Pongal 2023 release. Though there were speculations about a Deepavali release, all that has been put down now with the official confirmation.

‘Thalapathy 66’ is reportedly a family-based entertainer. Rashmika Mandanna has been paired with Vijay in the film. Veterans Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Prakash Raj and Jayasudha will be seen playing other important roles. More details regarding the supporting actors are expected to be out in the coming days.

‘Thalapathy 66’ has Thaman as the music director. Karthik Palani is the cinematographer and edits will be handled by Praveen KL. Shoot for the film is currently underway in Hyderabad. Dil Raju and Shirish are producing it under the banner of Sri Venkateswara Creations.

Sivakarthikeyan’s Don trailer raises expectations

Sivakarthikeyan’s ‘Don’ is all set to hit screens on May 13. The makers had recently released the film’s trailer online. Directed by debutant Cibi Chakaravarthi, it is a fun entertainer set in the backdrop of a campus. Sivakarthikeyan plays a college student’s role for the first time in his career. His ‘Doctor’ co-star Priyanka Arul Mohan is the female lead.

From the trailer, we learn that Sivakarthikeyan’s character is a confused youngster who is on the quest to find what his real talent is. SJ Suryah plays the head of the college, with whom he locks horns. Samuthirakani plays the role of Sivakarthikeyan’s father.

‘Don’ also Sivaangi, Bala Saravanan, Kaali Venkat and RJ Vijay. Sivakarthikeyan’s frequent collaborator Anirudh is composing music for this film. The actor’s Sivakarthikeyan Productions and Lyca Productions are jointly producing it.

Expectations are high for the film, particularly post the trailer release. Youngsters are eagerly waiting for the film, which promises to be a fun-filled treat for them.

It was earlier announced that Tovino Thomas would he starring in a film titled ‘Anveshippin Kandethum’. Directed by debutant Darwin Kuriakose, the film is touted to be an investigative thriller. Interestingly, Tovino plays a cop’s role in the film. The actor had earlier played police roles in ‘Ezra’ and ‘Kalki’.

Jinu V Abraham, who has written films like ‘Masters’, ‘London Bridge’ and also directed ‘Adam Joan’, is scripting ‘Anveshippin Kandethum’. He is also producing the film along with director Darwin and Yoodle Films, the film division of Saregama, a leading music label. Tovino had recently signed a multi-project deal with Saregama. The actor will be collaborating with them to produce films and web shows in Malayalam and Hindi.

On the technical front, ‘Anveshippin Kandethum’ has a solid team. One of Tamil cinema’s leading music directors, Santhosh Narayanan making his Malayalam debut with this film. Girish Gangadharan is the cinematographer and edits will be handled by Saiju Sreedharan.

‘Chattambi’ marks the directorial debut of Abhilash S Kumar, who has previously co-written films like ’22 Female Kottayam’, ‘Da Thadiya’ and ‘Gangster’. Inspired from real events, the film has its story by Don Palathara. Alex Joseph has cranked the camera and penned the screenplay of the film, which is set in the 90s.

Manju Warrier confirms starring in AK 61

It was earlier reported that Manju Warrier would be playing the female lead in Ajith’s next film. In a recent media interaction, the actress confirmed being part of the film. She added that she took up the project as it felt promising. This is her second Tamil film after debuting with ‘Asuran’.

H Vinoth is directing the upcoming film, which has tentatively been titled ‘AK 61’. Ajith is teaming up with the director for the third time after ‘Nerkonda Paarvai’ and ‘Valimai’. Boney Kapoor’s Bayview Projects LLP and Zee Studios are jointly producing the film, shoot for which is currently progressing in Hyderabad.

Touted to be a heist thriller, ‘AK 61’ has Nirav Shah as the cinematographer. The makers have erected where a massive set of a high-security bank in a locality resembling Chennai’s Mount Road. Ajith is sporting a stylish bearded look in the film.

The makers are eyeing to release the film for this year’s Deepavali in October.
