We had recently reported about SonyLiv bagging the streaming rights of the upcoming film, ‘Madhuram’. Directed by Ahammed Khabeer of ‘June’ fame, the film stars Joju George, Arjun Ashokan, Nikhila Vimal and Shruthi Ramachandran as the leads.
Recently, its trailer got released and has been getting highly positive response. From the trailer, we learn that the film tells the story of a few hospital bystanders. Director Ahammed has written the story while screenplay is penned jointly by Ashiq Aimar and Fahim Safar. Indrans, Jaffer Idukki, Fahim Safar, Malavika, Babu Jose and many others will be seen in supporting roles.
On the technical side, the film has Jithin Stanislaus as the cinematographer and music by ‘Hridayam’ fame Hesham Abdul Wahab. Mahesh Bhuvanend is editing the film. Joju George is producing the film along with Sijo Vadakkan under the banner of Appu Pappu Pathu Production House.
The makers are expected to announce the release date soon.
Marakkar set to be out on Amazon Prime Video; Release date announced
‘Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham’, which hit screens on December 2, is getting ready for its OTT release. The film is set to stream on Amazon Prime Video from December 17 in Malayalam, Tamil, Hindi and Telugu.
Though ‘Marakkar’ was released in theatres amidst tremendous hype, the film failed to live up to the expectations. It got released in around 4100 screens across the world in 5 languages. However, upon release, the film faced severe backlash in social medias. Moreover, pirated copies of the film were also spread online. All this had a major impact on the film’s box office collection.
‘Marakkar’ directed by Priyadarshan had superstar Mohanlal in the lead role. The cast also includes several well-known actors like Suniel Shetty, Arjun, Pranav Mohanlal, Keerthy Suresh, Manju Warrier, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Siddique, Prabhu, Baburaj, Mukesh, and Ashok Selvan.
With such a big star cast that too from various languages, ‘Marakkar’ is expected to fare well once its out on Amazon Prime Video this coming Friday.
Gautham Menon, Rajisha Vijayan and Sreenath Bhasi team up for Lovefully Yours Vedha
Tamil filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon, Rajisha Vijayan, Sreenath Bhasi and a few others are coming together for a campus-based entertainer titled ‘Lovefully Yours Vedha’. Debutant Praghesh Sukumaran will be directing the film and it is scripted by Babu Vailathur. We hear that the story set in the 90s revolves around campus romance, friendships and student politics.

Though Gautham Menon had made a brief appearance as himself in the 2018-film ‘Naam’, this will be his first full-length role in Malayalam. The cast of ‘Lovefully Yours Vedha’ also includes Venkitesh, Anikha Surendran, Sruthi Jayan, Appani Sarath, IM Vijayan and Nilja K Baby. Tobin Thomas (‘Stand Up’, ‘Kho Kho’) is the cinematographer and music is by Rahul Raj.
Radhakrishnan Khalayil and Ruvin Viswam are jointly producing the film under the banner of R2 Entertainments. It got launched today with a customary pooja ceremony and shoot is scheduled to begin from December 15.
Aishwarya Lekshmi’s new film ‘Kumari’ with director Nirmal Sahadev of ‘Ranam’ fame got launched today in Kochi. Fresh Lime Sodas and Big J Entertainments are producing the film and it will be presented by actor Prithviraj’s Prithviraj Productions.
As per the makers, ‘Kumari’ is a mythical tale based on Kerala’s folklore. Its story is written by director Nirmal and Sachin Ramdas. On the technical front, Nirmal has retained almost the same crew from ‘Ranam’. Jakes Bejoy is the music director and Sreejith Sarang, the editor. The two are also part of the film’s production. They are jointly producing it along with director Nirmal and actor Giju John.
The cast of ‘Kumari’ also includes Shine Tom Chacko, Spadikan George, Surabhi Lekshmi, Rahul Nambiar, Giju John, Tanvi Ram, Swasika, Shruthi Menon, and Shivajith Nambiar.
‘Kumari’ is Aishwarya Lekshmi’s second film as a solo lead. Her first film in a titular role ‘Archana 31’ is gearing up for release.
Hardwork pays off, stay focused and be persistent, says Nitin Thomas
Nitin Thomas has grabbed attention with his role as Pakkan Biju in ‘Aaha’. It has not been an easy journey for the actor as it took him over a decade to land a substantial role in a mainstream film. The Kochi-based actor has been working in the film industry for the last 12 years. It was his undying hunger for acting and cinema that has kept him going for so long. It was in 2006 during his college days that he first started acting as part of his seniors’ project.
After his graduation, Nitin worked as a graphic designer for few magazines and later as a freelance worker. During this time, he constantly attended auditions for movies and was on the look for opportunities. In 2013, while working for Infinity Times magazine, he won the Best Actor award in a contest conducted by Manorama Online as part of the 100th anniversary of Indian Cinema. Popular director Lal Jose headed the contest’s jury.

Later, he joined as an UI designer at a mobile application development company. Parallely, he was also honing his acting skills by doing short films with his friends, some of which gained attention of film critics. In the same year, Nitin made his Tamil debut by bagged an opportunity to play the role of a police officer in ‘Nishabdam’.
After quitting his job, Nitin completed a theater course at Koothu P Pattarai in Chennai. It was his stint there that helped him to learn and improve his acting skills. While in Chennai, he also worked as an online promoter for the Tamil film production company, 24 AM Studios. He continued looking for roles by regularly auditioned for Tamil films. As per Nitin, he has attended over 100 auditions in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Bangalore and Mumbai.

Nitin’s first film, Little Master, was released in 2012 while his Tamil debut Nishabdam came out in 2017. Event though both these films failed to get attention, Nitin persisted with his efforts. His acting career has finally been given a new lease of life with ‘Aaha’, directed by Bibin Paul Samuel.
Nitin’s upcoming films include the Dulquer Salmaan-starrer ‘Salute’, newcomer director Shah Jahan’s ‘Jameelante Poovan Kozhi’, and Karthik Raja’s maiden Tamil film, ‘Doodi’.

Besides acting, Nitin is also interested in other aspects of filmmaking. He has already scripted, directed and starred in a couple of short films. He is currently working on a few scripts, which include shorts, feature films as well as web series.
Director Vysakh had recently announced a film titled ‘Night Drive’ with Roshan Mathew, Anna Ben and Indrajith Sukumaran as the leads. The film’s first look featuring Roshan and Anna has been released. The poster comes with the tagline ‘The Hunted Becomes the Hunters’. From the poster and the tagline, it seems like the story of a young couple facing trouble during a night drive.
The film is scripted by Abhilash Pillai, who is penning the upcoming Indrajith-Suraj Venjaramoodu starrer ‘Patham Valavu’ as well. Vysakh, who is usually known for his high voltage mass-masala entertainers, is attempting something new with ‘Night Drive’.

Vysakh, meanwhile, is helming another film titled ‘Monster’. Starring Mohanlal as a Sikh character, the film is touted to be an investigative thriller. Udhayakrishna is scripting the film, which also stars Lakshmi Manchu, Sudev Nair and Honey Rose.

Allu Arjun starrer ‘Pushpa’ is among the most hyped Indian films in recent times. Directed by Sukumar, it is a duology, which is also Allu’s first pan-Indian outing. The star has pinned huge hopes on the film. It is the first time he is playing a rural, rustic character and his makeover itself has heightened the expectations among fans.
Recently, Allu gifted 10 grams gold coin to each of the important 35-40 members in the ‘Pushpa’ team. Apart from that, he also donated Rs 10 lakhs to the entire production staff for the hardwork they put in. Allu’s kind gesture has won hearts among fans and industry insiders. Fahadh Faasil and Nadiya Moidu to play siblings in Mahesh Narayanan’s next
We had recently reported about Mahesh Narayanan and Fahadh Faasil reuniting for a short segment in the upcoming Netflix anthology based on MT Vasudevan Nair’s stories. Said to be based on MT’s short story Sherlock, the film will have Fahadh and veteran actress Nadiya Moidu as the leads.
Sherlock is about a youngster named Balu arriving in Canada to find work. He stays with his sister and husband at their place. The couple also has a pet cat named Sherlock. The core narrative is centred around Balu and Sherlock, the cat. While Fahadh essays Balu’s role, Nadiya will be seen as his sister.
The makers are apparently planning to start shoot in January in Canada. Planned as a 10-part project, the anthology has films helmed by directors like Priyadarshan, Shyamaprasad, Santosh Sivan, Jayaraj, Rathish Ambat and Lijo Jose Pellissery. The cast includes the likes of Mohanlal, Mammootty, Parvathy Thiruvoth, Indrajith Sukumaran, Ann Augustine, Aparna Balamurali, Sshivada, Biju Menon, Indrans and Nedumudi Venu among others.
Soubin Shahir-Dileesh Pothan film Kallan D’Souza gets a release date!
We had earlier reported about, Soubin Shahir and Dileesh Pothan playing the main leads in a new film directed by debutant Jithu K Jayan. The film was initially titled as ‘Arakkallan Mukkakallan’ but later got renamed as ‘Kallan D’Souza’. The makers have unveiled its first look poster featuring Soubin and Dileesh Pothan. Along with that, they have announced that the film will be hiring theatres on January 27, 2022.
‘Kallan D’Souza’ scripted by Sajeer Baba is touted to be a full-on comedy entertainer. Soubin and Dileesh Pothan have worked together in several films in the past and their off-screen rapport will certainly reflect on the film as well. Hareesh Kanaran and National award winner Surabhi Lakshmi will also be seen in prominent roles in the film.
Ramshi Ahamed is producing ‘Kallan D’Souza’ in association with Sandra Thomas and Thomas Joseph Pattathanam. Arun Chalil is the cinematographer and edits are handled by Rizzal Jainy. The film has songs composed by Leo Tom, Prashanth Karma while background score is done by Kailas Menon.
