Unni Mukundan-Samantha starrer Yashoda begins

We had recently reported about Samantha signing a new Telugu film titled ‘Yashoda’. The film has now gone on floors. Directed by Hari and Harish, the film also stars Malayalam actor Unni Mukundan and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in main roles.

Unni Mukundan had made his Telugu debut in 2016 with ‘Janatha Garage’, in which he shared screen space with Mohanlal and Jr NTR. Later, he did ‘Bhaagamathie’, in which he was paired with Anushka Shetty. Unni is also playing a prominent role in Ravi Teja’s upcoming film ‘Khiladi’, also starring Arjun Sarja.

‘Yashoda’ is said to be a female-centric film in which Samantha plays the titular role. Not many know that Yashoda is Samantha’s pet name in real life. Her close friends and family members still call her by that name.

‘Yashoda’ is produced by Sivalenka Krishna Prasad under the banner of Sridevi Movies. The makers are planning to wrap up the entire shoot by March, 2022. Mani Sharma has been assigned as the music composer and M Sukumar is handling the camera.

‘Yashoda’ is planned as a pan-Indian film with release in Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Malayalam, and Hindi languages.

Super Sharanya: First look of Thaneer Mathan Dhinangal fame Girish AD’s next is here!

After the blockbuster success of ‘Thanneer Mathan Dhinangal’, director Girish AD is back with his second film titled ‘Super Sharanya’. The film stars Anaswara Rajan in the titular role. Last day, a colorful first look poster featuring Anaswara and a bunch of other girls got unveiled. All of them in the vibrant-looking poster are seen set wearing traditional Kerala saree.

Megastar Mammootty shared the poster in his Facebook page and wrote,

According to the makers, ‘Super Sharanya’ is a campus based romantic film told from the female lead’s perspective. Arjun Ashokan plays the other lead. Just like his debut film, ‘Thanneer Mathan Dhinangal’, Girish AD’s sophomore outing will also have a mix of fresh talents and seasoned actors. Girish is also producing the film along with Shibin Backer.

Sajith Purushan is cranking the camera and edits are handled by Akash Joseph Varghese. Justin Varghese is composing music for the film. The makers have announced that the film will be hitting screens in January, 2022.

SS Rajamouli magic yet again; RRR trailer is terrific!

The hugely anticipated RRR trailer has finally arrived. Apart from the online release, it has been released in many theatres for fans to celebrate from big screen. The 3-minute long trailer gives a clear idea on what the film is about. Ram Charan’s Alluri Sita Ramaraju and Jr NTR’s Komaram Bheem join forces to fight the British. Though they part ways at some point, they eventually come together to wage war against the invaders.

SS Rajamouli’s mastery is yet again on display as he has packed multiple goosebumps-inducing scenes in the trailer itself. The film is expected to have several such moments. MM Keeravani’s music is another major highlight of the trailer as his terrific score amplifies mass moments.

The trailer has been released simultaneously in multiple languages. Apart from the original Telugu version, Jr NTR and Ram Charan have also dubbed for themselves in the Tamil and Hindi versions. While the focus is mostly on the two leads, other cast members like Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, Ray Stevenson, and Shriya Saran also appear in it.

RRR is scheduled for a grand worldwide theatrical release on January 7, 2022.

Pushpa new single featuring Samantha to be out tomorrow

The makers of ‘Pushpa: Part 1’ have announced that a new single from the film will be out tomorrow (December 10). Titled ‘Oo Antava Oo Oo Antava’ is a special song featuring Samantha, who shot for the song only recently. Devi Sri Prasad has composed this track.

Meanwhile, the trailer of the Allu Arjun-starrer continues to trend virally. Since the film is getting a multilingual release, the trailer is also out in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. The original Telugu version alone has fetched over 21 million views.

Directed by Sukumar, ‘Pushpa’ is planned as a duology with the first part hitting screens on December 17. Touted to be an action-packed mass entertainer, the film revolves around the smuggling of red sanders. Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil is making his Telugu debut by essaying the villain role.

Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead. Sunil, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Dhananjay, Vennela Kishore and many others are part of the cast.

The motion poster of Dileep-Nadhirshah film ‘Keshu Ee Veedinte Nathan’ will be coming out tomorrow (December 9) at 12 PM. The makers informed the same by sharing a photo of Dileep and Urvashi, who plays his wife’s role in the film.

‘Keshu Ee Veedinte Nathan’ is a family drama that has Dileep appearing in two different looks. One of them has the actor playing a middle-aged person’s role. ‘June’ fame Vaishnavi and ‘Thanneer Mathan Dhinangal’ fame Naslen will be seen as his kids in the film. Anusree will also be seen in a main role.

Sajeev Pazhoor, who won the National award for ‘Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum’, has scripted ‘Keshu Ee Veedinte Nathan’. There is a buzz going around that the film will be releasing directly on Disney + Hotstar but the makers are yet to confirm it. The film is produced by NAD Group headed by Dileep and Nadhrishah.

We had earlier reported about Suresh Gopi acting in a new Tamil film titled ‘Thamezharasan’. The touted to be cop action-thriller has lead actor Vijay Antony as a police officer. It is directed by Babu Yogeswaran, who had earlier helmed the Jayam Ravi starrer ‘Daas’. Remya Nambeesan plays Vijay Antony’s pair in the film.

Suresh Gopi is making a comeback of sorts to Tamil with this film. He last had a release six years back in 2015. Reportedly, the actor plays a doctor in the film and it is said to be a very prominent role. Bollywood actor Sonu Sood, Bhumika, Munishkanth, Robo Shankar, Yogi Babu, and director Mohan Raja’s son, Pranav are also part of the film’s supporting cast.

‘Thamezharasan’ has music composed by Ilayaraja, cinematography by RD Rajasekhar and edits by Bhuvan Srinivasan.

Meanwhile, Suresh Gopi’s ‘Kaaval’ is getting decent response in theatres. The film directed by Nithin Renji Panicker has Suresh Gopi playing a character named Thamban. His performance in it has been appreciated by many.

Minnal Murali set for premiere at Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival

The hugely-hyped ‘Minnal Murali’ is all set to have its premiere at the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival. The film will be premiering at the festival on 16th of this December. It is then set for a direct Netflix release on December 24.

The big announcement regarding the MAMI premiere was made by Bollywood star Priyanks Chopra, who is the festival’s chairperson. The film’s director Basil Joseph and lead actor Tovino Thomas recently had a web interaction with Priyanka and Smriti Kiran, the festival’s artistic director. During the chat, Priyanka also revealed that she watched the film and loved it.

‘Minnal Murali’, set in the 90s, has Tovino Thomas playing an ordinary youngster who gets superhero powers after being struck by a bolt of lightning. The film also stars Tamil actor Guru Somasundaram, Aju Varghese, Baiju Santhosh, Mammukoya, debutante Femina George and many others.

Sophia Paul of Weekend Blockbusters is producing ‘Minnal Murali’, which will be out in multiple languages.

Vijay Sethupathi’s long delayed film ‘Maamanithan’ finally seems to be gearing up for release. Official teaser of the Seenu Ramasamy directorial dropped in recently and it looks promising. It appears to be an emotional family drama in which Gayathrie plays Vijay Sethupathi’s wife. The two have earlier acted together in ‘Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom’, ‘Super Deluxe’ and ‘Puriyatha Puthir’. Guru Somasundaram and Malayalam actors Jewel Mary and KPAC Lalitha are also essaying major roles.

Director Seenu Ramasamy and Vijay Sethupathi have previously collaborated in the National award winning film ‘Thenmerku Paruvakaatru’, ‘Dharmadurai’ and the yet-to-be released ‘Idam Porul Yaeval’. Tamil cinema lovers are hopeful of seeing another quality film from this successful actor-director combo.

‘Maamanithan’ is produced by music director Yuvan Shankar Raja. Interestingly, the film has music scored by Yuvan, and his father, Ilayaraaja, which is a first. M Sukumar is the DOP and Sreekar Prasad handles the edits. An official announcement regarding the film’s release date is expected to be made soon by the makers.

The recently released trailer of Allu Arjun-starrer ‘Pushpa’ continues to get tremendous response across social media platforms. Since the film is getting a multilingual release, the trailer is also out in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. The original Telugu version alone has fetched a whopping 19 million views.

Directed by Sukumar, ‘Pushpa’ is a two-part action film that revolves around the smuggling of red sanders. Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil is making his Telugu debut by essaying the villain role. The trailer is largely centered around Allu Arjun’s character Pushparaj. Fahadh Faasil who plays a corrupt cop makes an appearance towards the end. His new bald look has grabbed attention. Similarly, Allu Arjun is sporting also rugged getup, which is a first for him.

Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead in ‘Pushpa’. Sunil, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Dhananjay, Vennela Kishore and many others are part of the cast. Samantha is be making a special appearance in a song sequence in the film. Devi Sri Prasad is handling the music department.

‘Pushpa: Part 1’ is slated to hit screens on December 17 ahead of Christmas.

Sanjay Dutt, who plays the villain role in KGF 2, has completed dubbing for his portions. The makers informed the same by sharing a photo of him from the dubbing studio. The film has Sanjay Dutt playing Adheera, who’s getup has already grabbed attention. His presence is one of the most exciting factors about the film.

‘KGF 2’ is eagerly awaited by film lovers across the country. After the massive success of the first part, expectations are multifold this time. Yash is reprising the lead role of Rocky and the film traces his journey from a dreaded criminal and his desire to rule the gold mines of Kolar which results in a war with the villain, Adheera.

Ranveena Tandon, Srinidhi Shetty, Anant Nag, Rao Ramesh, Achyuth Kumar, Vasishta N Simha and Malavika Avinash are part of the film’s supporting cast. The film is supposed to hit screens worldwide on April 14, 2022. Though the makers had planned the release much earlier, it kept getting delayed due to the pandemic.
