Pushpa Malayalam version; Resul Pookutty clarifies why..

Amidst massive expectations, the Allu Arjun-starer ‘Pushpa: The Rise – Part 1’ got worldwide today. Directed by Sukumar, the film stars Rashmika Mandanna, Fahadh Faasil, Sunil, Anasuya Baradwaj and a host of other stars. Samantha makes a special appearance in a song sequence. The film had huge hype right from the time it was announced as Allu Arjun’s first pan-Indian outing.

The makers had planned a simultaneous release in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi. However, due to a last minute mix up, release of the Malayalam version had to be pushed by one day. Scroes of Allu Arjun’s fans in Kerala have been disappointed by the postponing.

Resul Pookuty, who handles the sound department of ‘Pushpa’, clarified why they had to delay the release. He blamed a bug in the system and the lack of time for the mess up. His tweets read,

We used a new and faster method to generate the mix files…all our tests results were good but due to a bug in the software we found the final prints were drifted.. and I did not want to give an out of sync picture to the fans of @alluarjun and @iamRashmika They deserve a better.

We didn’t get time to QC the mix before we send it to print due to time pressure, because of a bug in the system it ran into sync issues and other audio glitches, hence the delay in the #MalayalamReleaseOfPushpa we rectified the problem and prints are on its way…@MythriOfficial

Pushpa Malayalam release postponed

Allu Arjun’s much-awaited ‘Pushpa: The Rise – Part 1’ has hit screens worldwide today. Directed by Sukumar, the film got released amidst tremendous hype. The film was publicized as Allu Arjun’s first pan-Indian outing with simultaneous release in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Hindi.

However, fans in Kerala are in for a disappointment as it has been announced that the release of the Malayalam version will be delayed by one day. While all the other three versions have been released as per plans, the Malayalam version will be out only on December 18.

E4 Entertainment, the banner which owns the distribution rights of ‘Pushpa’ Malayalam, took to their Facebook handle to inform the same.

First the good news that your favourite Hero’s film PUSHPA will release as planned on 17th Dec in all theatres in Kerala in the Tamil version
Our sincere apologies that we could not bring the Malayalam version on time and there is a delay of one day the Malayalam version will be available from Saturday 18th Dec in all shows.

Mohanlal has completed dubbing for his portions in ‘Aarattu’. With that, the makers have announced that the film’s trailer will be out soon. It is expected to be released on the occasion of Christmas or New Year’s Day. Earlier, the film’s teaser had got tremendous reception in social medias. The makers will be planning to release a similar action-packed one to excite the fans.

Directed by B Unnikrishnan, ‘Aarattu’ promises to be a mass-masala entertainer. As confirmed by the makers themselves, the film has action, comedy, songs and all other essential commercial ingredients in it. Udhayakrishna has scripted the film in which Mohanlal plays a larger-than-life character named Neyyattinkara Gopan. Popular South Indian actress Shraddha Srinath plays the female lead.

The supporting cast includes actors like Siddique, Sai Kumar, Nedumudi Venu, Indrans, Lukman, ‘KGF’ fame Garuda Ram, Vijayaraghavan, Swasika, Rachana Narayanankutty and Sheela. Music maestro AR Rahman will be seen making a cameo appearance in a song sequence

Night Drive: Trailer of Vysakh’s next is promising

The trailer of director Vysakh’s new film ‘Night Drive’ has dropped online. The film stars Roshan Mathew, Anna Ben and Indrajith Sukumaran as the leads. From the trailer, the film looks like a racy thriller. Roshan and Anna play a young couple facing trouble during a night drive. Indrajith Sukumaran essays the role of a cop in the film. Kalabhavan Shajon, Siddique, Renji Panicker, Muthumani, Kailash, Santhosh Keezhattoor, Surabhi Santhosh and many others are part of the cast.

‘Night Drive’ is scripted by Abhilash Pillai, who is penning the upcoming Indrajith-Suraj Venjaramoodu starrer ‘Patham Valavu’ as well. Vysakh, who is usually known for his high voltage mass-masala entertainers, is attempting a different kind of thriller with ‘Night Drive’.

The film has Vysakh’s frequent collaborator Shaji Kumar as the DOP. Ranjin Raj handles the music department and Sunil S Pillai edits the film. It is produced by Priya Venu and Neeta Pinto while Ann Mega Media is presenting.

Valimai making video heightens expectations!

Valimai making video heightens expectations!

Much to the excitement of the fans, the making video of Ajith-starrer ‘Valimai’ has been released . Unlike the usual making videos, this one is attention-grabbing with terrific shots of bike stunts performed on highways. The video also shows how the film’s shoot stalled got due to the pandemic and the ridicule they had to face in social medias for not sharing regular updates. It is not long back when ‘Valimai Update’ was made a butt of jokes in cyber space.

The high point of the making video is Ajith falling down while attempting a wheelie. The actor quickly gets up and pulls it off successfully. Ajith, who normally doesn’t use stunt doubles, is learnt to have done some amazing bike stunts for ‘Valimai’.

Written and directed by H Vinoth, the film promises be a mass-action entertainer. Ajith reportedly plays a cop’s role in it. Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi is the female lead. Telugu actor Karthikeya Gummakonda ‘RX 100’ fame is the antagonist. Bani, Sumithra, Achyunth Kumar, Yogi Babu, Raj Ayyappa, Pugazh, Druvan, Pearle Maaney and many others are part of the cast.

Boney Kapoor’s Bayview Projects LLP and Zee Studios are jointly producing the film. It is confirmed that the film will be hitting screens for next Pongal but the makers are yet to announce the release date officially.

The makers of ‘Keshu Ee Veedinte Naathan’ have released the film’s trailer online. Directed by Nadhirshah, the film looks like a fun, family-oriented entertainer. Keshu is a middle-aged driving school instructor. He is known to be a miser but luck has it that, he wins a bumper lottery worth Rs 12 crore. Trouble begins with his family members bothering him.

While Dileep plays Keshu, Urvashi essays the role of his wife. ‘June’ fame Vaishnavi and ‘Thanneer Mathan Dhinangal’ fame Naslen essay their kids’ roles. Swasika, Kottayam Nazeer, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Jaffer Idukki, Ganapathi, Harisree Ashokan, Seema G Nair and many others are also part of the cast. Anusree is also making a cameo appearance in the film.

‘Keshu Ee Veedinte Nathan’ is scripted by Sajeev Pazhoor, who won the National award for ‘Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum’. Dilieep and Dr Zachariah Thomas are jointly producing the film. The makers have announced that the film will be releasing directly on Disney + Hotstar. It will be out on December 31.

Sathyan Anthikad’s next starring Jayaram and Meera Jasmine titled Makal

Shoot for Sathyan Anthikad’s new film with Jayaram and Meera Jasmine is nearing completion. Recently, the director took to his social media handle to announce that the film has been titled ‘Makal’. While Jayaram and Meera Jasmine play a married couple, Devi Sanjay of ‘Njan Prakashan’ fame will be seen as their daughter. Innocent, Siddique and Sreenivasan will be seen in supporting roles. Dr Iqbal Kuttippuram is scripting the film and it is produced by Central Pictures.

‘Makal’ is eagerly awaited by many as it marks Jayaram’s reunion with Sathyan Anthikad after 11 years. The actor-director duo has worked together in several memorable films in the 90s and 2000s. With Jayaram being on a lean patch for a long time, ‘Makal’ is expected to be his much-needed comeback film.

For his new film, Sathyan Anthikad has retained his frequent collaborator S Kumar as the DOP. Music department will be handled by ‘Ambili’ fame Vishnu Vijay. Art director Prashant Madhav, costume designer Sameera Saneesh and sound designer Anil Radhakrishnan are also part of the technical team.

Navya Nair, who has been away from films post her marriage, is making her comeback to Malayalam cinema with ‘Oruthee’. Directed by VK Prakash, the film also has Vinayakan in a major role. Recently, its first look featuring Navya got released. Former Kerala State Health Minister KK Shailaja and many others celebs shared the poster in their social media handles.

Navya’s performance in ‘Oruthee’ has already bagged her the award for Best Actress at three regional festivals including JC Daniel Foundation Film Awards. She reportedly plays the role of a boat conductor, who is also a mother of two. Vinayakan will be seen as a cop. Saiju Kurup, KPAC Lalitha, Sreedevi Varma, Kalabhavan Haneef and a few others are part of the cast.

The makers of ‘Keshu Ee Veedinte Naathan’ had recently released the first single from the film. Titled ‘Punnarapoonkattil’, it is sung by KJ Yesudas and composed by the film’s director Nadhirshah. Sujesh Hari has penned the song lyrics. The song features visuals of Keshu and family going for a tour and then shopping at a mall.

The makers have announced that film will be releasing directly on Disney + Hotstar but they are yet to confirm the date. This will be Dileep’s first direct OTT release.

Trailer of Soubin Shahir-Lal Jose film Meow is impressive

Lal Jose’s new film ‘Meow’ starring Soubin Shahir and Mamta Mohandas as the leads is gearing up for release. The makers had recently shared the film’s trailer. The film, which is mostly set in the UAE, has Soubin plays Dasthakeer. Mamta Mohandas essays the role of his wife Sulu and the couple has three kids. From the trailer, it seems to be an entertaining family drama.

‘Meow’ is scripted by Dr Iqbal Kuttippuram. It is his fourth film with director Lal Jose after delivering hits with ‘Arabikatha’, ‘Diamond Necklace’ and ‘Vikramadithyan’. Interestingly, the first two films were also centered around the lives of Malayalis living in Dubai. Some NRI Malayalis are also acting in ‘Meow’.

Ajmal Sabu is the film’s cinematographer and veteran Ranjan Abraham has been assigned as the editor. Justin Varghese of ‘Njandukalude Naatil Oridavela’ and ‘Thanneer Mathan Dhinangal’ and ‘Joji’ fame is the music director. The film is produced by Thomas Thiruvalla.
