Antony Varghese set to tie the knot; Check out the photos from Haldi ceremony

Promising young actor Antony Varghese is all set to enter wedlock. He is getting married to Anisha Poulose, a nurse who hails from Angamaly. Antony and Anisha have known each other for a long time. Though their wedding was initially planned to be held in June, the families postponed it due to the lockdown.

Last day, a Haldi ceremony was held which was attended by close friends and family members. Photos and videos from the function are currently doing the rounds in social medias. Antony and Anisha are seen dancing together in some of the videos and it seems like a fun event.

Antony Varghese, who shot to fame with Lijo Jose Pellissery’s ‘Angamaly Diaries’, was last seen in ‘Jallikkattu’. The actor has two of his films — ‘Ajagajantharam’ and ‘Aanaparambile World Cup’ gearing up for release. Both the films were supposed to hit screens much earlier but had to be put on hold due to the pandemic.

Antony is currently part of Jis Joy’s upcoming thriller film that also stars Asif Ali. Debutant director Nahas Hidhayath’s ‘Aaravam’, ‘Dev Fakir’ scripted by Haneef Adeni and newcomer Abhishek’s ‘Meri Jaan’
are some of Antony’s other announced projects. There also reports about the actor being part of the upcoming Tamil biggie ‘Vikram’ but the makers are yet to confirm it.

The superhit Malayalam fiom ‘Android Kunjappan Version 5.25’ is getting remade in Tamil as ‘Koogle Kuttapa’. Its first look poster got released by actor Suriya last day. Veteran Tamil filmmaker KS Ravikumar had bagged its remake rights. He is also playing the lead role, which was essayed by Suraj Venjaramoodu in the original. Ravikumar’s former assistants Sabari and Saravanan are directing the film.

The original Malayalam film starring Suraj Venjaramoodu and Soubin Shahir as the leads was a box-office hit that also won critical appreciation. It bagged three awards the State level including ones for Best Debut Director (Ratheesh Balakrishna Poduval) and Best Actor (Suraj Venjaramoodu).

In the Tamil version, Poovaiyaar, noted for his performance in ‘Master’, is acting as the humanoid robot. ‘Bigg Boss’ stars Tharshan and Losliya will be seen as the lead pair while Yogi Babu also essays a prominent role.

As confirmed by the makers, the script has been tweaked to suit the sensibilities of the Tamil audience.
They have maintained the crux of the story but the treatment will be different. It will be a wholesome family entertainer that will cater all sections of the audience.

We had recently reported about Babu Antony joining the cast of Mani Ratnam’s ambitious biggie ‘Ponniyin Selvan’. The actor is currently shooting for the film in Hyderabad. Recently, when he had a day’s off, he visited the sets of
Prithviraj directorial ‘Bro Daddy’, shoot for which is also happening in the same city.

Babu Antony has shared a photo taken with Mohanlal and Prithviraj in his social media handle. Along with that, he has written,

I had a day off from filming “Ponniyen Selvom” with Manirathnam sir. So, I visited Lal and Pritvi who are shooting in another part of Hyderabad. Also met with Kaniha. Production controller Sidhu Panackal offered me nice Biriyani and we shared some good memories of Vasali and filming with Bharathetten. It was fun and just got back

‘Bro Daddy’ team began shoot in Hyderabad as the Kerala government had not granted permission for film shootings then. It is learnt that the makers are now planning to shoot the remaining portions in Kerala. The film has superstar Mohanlal and Prithviraj as the leads. Others in the cast include Meena, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Murali Gopy, Kaniha Soubin Shahir and Lalu Alex. Antony Perumbavoor is producing it under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.

Pada shoot wrapped up after two years of commencement

‘Pada’ is an upcoming Malayalam film starring Kunchacko Boban, Vinayakan, Dileesh Pothan and Joju George as the leads. Kamal KM is directing the film and it is being produced under the banner of E4 Entertainment. After over two years of its commencement, the makers have finally wrapped up the shoot. The film originally went on floors in May, 2019 and had to endure various hurdles before the entire shoot got completed. Actors like Prakash Raj, Shanker Ramakrishnan, Jagadheesh, Kottayam Ramesh and Santhosh Keezhattoor were present for the last day’s shoot.

‘Pada’ is the maiden film of director Kamal KM in Malayalam. His debut film ‘I.D’ in Hindi was a widely acclaimed work that went on to be screened at various international film festivals across the world. Kamal himself has scripted ‘Pada’ that is based on a real-life incident that occured in Kerala during the 90s.

Cinematographer Sameer Thahir had shot the initial portions while the last schedule was done by veteran Madhu Neelakantan.

Ayyappanum Koshiyum Telugu remake; Release date announced

Shoot for the Telugu remake of hit Malayalam film ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ is currently progressing at a brisk pace. Saagar K Chandra is directing the film that has Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati as the leads. It is produced by Sithara Entertainments, one of the leading banners in Telugu industry. The makers have announced January 12, 2022 as the theatrical release.

Tollywood is set to witness a huge box office clash as two other biggies are scheduled for release during the same period. The makers of Prabhas starrer ‘Radhe Shyam’ have already confirmed January 14, 2022 as their release date. Mahesh Babu starrer ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ is also slated to hit screens during the same Sankranti period. It remains to be seen if any of these films get a change in plans to avoid a clash.

‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ Telugu version has Pawan Kalyan reprising the cop’s role played by Biju Menon and Rana essaying the part played by Prithviraj. Trivikram Srinivas has adapted the Telugu version’s screenplay and dialogues. Ravi K Chandran is the cinematographer and Thaman S is composing the music.

As speculated, the makers of Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa’ have confirmed that the film will be releasing in two parts. The first part titled ‘Pushpa The Rise’ will be hitting screens for this year’s Christmas in December. Though it was originally planned as a regular single-part film, the makers decided to extend it as they felt that the script has the potential for a second part.

‘Pushpa’ is Allu Arjun’s first pan-Indian film and it will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada, and Malayalam. Directed by Sukumar, the film promises to be an action packed entertainer. It revolves around the smuggling of red sanders in the Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh border. The film stars Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil as the antagonist. While Allu Arjun plays a lorry driver, Fahadh is said to be essaying the role of a corrupt police officer. It is said that most of Fahadh’s portions will appear only in the second part.

Rashmika Mandanna, Prakash Raj, Jagapati Babu, Harish Uthaman, Vennela Kishore, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Anish Kuruvilla and many others are part of the supporting cast.

Rumours about Nivin Pauly teaming up with Tamil filmmaker Ram have been doing the rounds for sometime now. The project got confirmed officially today. Suresh Kamatchi’s V House Productions is producing the film, which also has Anjali and Soori as the other leads. Yuvan Shankar Raja, a regular collaborator with Ram, has been retained as the music director for this film as well. There are talks about the film being a Tamil-Malayalam bilingual, but the makers are yet to confirm it.

Ram is one of the most revered filmmakers in Kollywood, who has made critically acclaimed films like ‘Kattradhu Tamizh’, ‘Thanga Meengal’ and ‘Taramani’. His last film ‘Peranbu’ starring Malayalam superstar Mammootty was a widely praised one that went on to be screened in several international film festivals.

Ram’s film with Nivin Pauly will be interesting to look forward to. Of late, the actor has been showing a lot of interest in doing content-oriented films like ‘Moothon’ and ‘Thuramukham’. His new film with Ram is expected to utilize the performer in him to the best.

Gautham Menon to direct the Tamil remake of Nayattu

After films like ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’, ‘Kappela’ and ‘Lucifer’, yet another Malayalam film is set to be remade. The remake rights of Martin Prakkat’s ‘Nayattu’ have been sold in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi languages. The Tamil version will be helmed by Gautham Vasudev Menon. The Telugu and Hindi rights have been acquired by Allu Arjun’s Geetha Arts and actor John Abraham respectively. More details regarding the cast and crew of the remake versions are awaited.

‘Nayattu’ is a hard-hitting and thought-provoking film that is a part a social-drama as well as a survival-thriller. The film has Kunchacko Boban, Nimisha Sajayan and Joju George as the leads. Upon its theatrical release in April this year, the film failed to emerge as a commercial hit. But after its release on Netflix, the film found appreciation from non-Malayali cinephiles and celebs from other industries. However, there was also a section of social media users and critics who raised severe criticisms about the film’s politics.

It will be interesting to see how the makers of the remake versions adapt the script. The original version is penned by Shahi Kabir of ‘Joseph’ fame.

As announced, the first single from Ajith’s ‘Valimai’ got released online last night. The song titled Naanga Vera Maari is penned by director-lyricist Vignesh Shivn. Yuvan Shankar Raja has composed and lent his vocals for the track. It is a high-octane song that is sure to turn a chart buster soon.

‘Valimai’ directed by H Vinoth is an eagerly film. It promises to be a stylishly shot mass-action flick. The posters and motion poster released so far suggested the same. Ajith is said to be playing a cop in the film but it is yet to be confirmed. Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi is the female lead. Telugu actor Karthikeya Gummakonda will be seen as the antagonist.

‘Valimai’ shoot has not yet been completed. The team is planning to fly to Europe once the pandemic situation gets better to shoot the remaining portions. Boney Kapoor’s Bayview Projects LLP and Zee Studios are jointly producing the film, which is scheduled to hit screens for this year’s Diwali in November.

Malayali scriptwriter Sajeev Pazhoor is all set to make his debut as a filmmaker in Tamil. Yogi Babu and Urvashi will be seen playing the lead roles in the film, which is yet to be titled. This will be Yogi Babu’s next as a lead actor after the recently acclaimed OTT film, ‘Mandela’.

Sajeev Pazhoor is a two-time Kerala State award winner for Best Documentary Director. He is best known for scripting the widely acclaimed film, ‘Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum’. The film won him awards the National and State level for Best Screenplay. He later scripted ‘Sathyam Paranja Viswasikumo’, which had Biju Menon and Samvrutha Sunil as the leads. His upcoming film ‘Keshu Ee Veedinte Nathan’ stars Dileep and Urvashi in the main roles. It is being directed by Nadirshah.

It is interesting that Sajeev Pazhoor chose to make his feature film directorial debut in Tamil after establishing himself as a successful scenarist in Malayalam. More details regarding the project are expected to be out after the official announcement is made.
