Vijay Sethupathi begins shooting for new web series alongside Shahid Kapoor and Raashi Khanna

Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi is making his digital debut with a new web series directed by Raj and DK. Shahid Kapoor and Raashi Khanna also play the lead roles in the series, which is rumoured to be have been titled as ‘Sunny’. Vijay Sethupathi has started shooting for his portions. His photos with Raj-DK duo and Raashi Khanna are currently doing the rounds in social medias. This is Sethupathi’s third outing with Raashi Khanna after working together in ‘Sangatamizhan’ and ‘Tughlaq Durbar’

Sharing a selfie taken with him on the sets of their new series, Raashi Khanna wrote,

Raj and DK have previously helmed the blockbuster series ‘The Family Man’. Both the seasons, which streamed in Amazon Prime Video, were hugely successful. Naturally, expectations are high for their new series. The fact that stalwarts like Shahid Kapoor and Vijay Sethupathi are coming together for the first time also increases the hype.

First single from Allu Arjun’s Pushpa to be out on August 13

On the occasion of composer Devi Sri Prasad’s birthday, an announced regarding the first single release date of Allu Arjun-starrer ‘Pushpa’ has been made. The song will be out on August 13 in five languages. Popular playback singers Vishal Dadlani (Hindi), Shivam (Telugu), Rahul Nambiar (Malayalam), Benny Dayal (Tamil) and Vijay Prakash (Kannada) have lent their vocals in each language.

Directed by Sukumar, ‘Pushpa’ is a big-scale action packed entertainer. The film revolves around the smuggling of red sanders in the Tamil Nadu-Andhra Pradesh border. Malayalam cinema’s hot and happening star Fahadh Faasil is making his Telugu debut by playing the villain role this film. While Allu Arjun plays a lorry driver, Fahadh is said to be essaying the role of a corrupt police officer. The clash between the two stars is expected to the film’s major highlight. Initially, Vijay Sethupathi was signed for the antagonist’s role but he later opted out due to date issues.

The makers of Ajith’s ‘Valimai’ have come up with a new update. The first single composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja will be out tonight after 10 PM. It is expected to be a mass number to excite the fans. Directed by H Vinoth, ‘Valimai’ promises to be a stylishly shot mass-action flick. The posters and motion poster released so far suggested the same as Ajith was seen in stylish get ups with jackets and sunglasses.

Unconfirmed reports suggest that Ajith plays a cop in the film. Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi is the female lead. Telugu actor Karthikeya Gummakonda will be seen as the antagonist. Yuvan Shankar Raja handles the music department and Nirav Shah cranks the camera. The film’s shoot has not yet been completed. The team is planning to fly to Europe once the pandemic situation gets better to shoot the remaining portions.

Boney Kapoor’s Bayview Projects LLP and Zee Studios are jointly producing the film. It is most likely to hit screens for this year’s Diwali in November.

Ambili fame Tanvi Ram joins Nazriya and Nani in Ante Sundaraniki

Malayali actress Nazriya is making her debut in Telugu cinema with a musical rom-com titled ‘Ante Sundaraniki’. The film stars Nani as the male lead. Vivek Athreya of ‘Mental Madhilo’ and ‘Brochevarevarura’ fame is directing the film. Another Malayali actress Tanvi Ram is also part of the film’s cast.

Tanvi caught attention with her performance in films like ‘Ambili’ and ‘Kappela’. A selfie of Tanvi, Nazriya and Nani from the sets of ‘Ante Sundaraniki’ is currently doing the rounds in social medias.

Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar Y are jointly producing the film under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers. On the technical front, Vivek Sagar handles the music department and Niketh Bommi of ‘Soorarai Pottru’ fame cranks the camera. Editor Raviteja Girijala, production designer Latha Tharun and sound designer Varun Venugopal are also part of the film’s technical crew.

Bollywood actress Mrunal Thakur paired with Dulquer Salmaan; Birthday special poster out

Dulquer Salmaan is starring in a new multilingual film directed by Telugu filmmaker Hanu Raghavapudi of ‘Padi Padi Leche Manasu’ fame. Touted to be a period love story, the film has Dulquer as an army officer named Lieutenant Ram. Bollywood actress Mrunal Thakur has been paired with him. Today, on the occasion of her birthday, the makers shared a new poster featuring the two leads. Her character in the film is named as Sita.

The makers had been in talks with various top actresses before finalizing on Mrunal. She is noted for noted for her roles in films like ‘Super 30’, ‘Batla House’ and the Netflix anthology ‘Ghost Stories’. She was last seen in the Farhan Akhtar starrer ‘Toofan’.

Swapna Cinema is producing the yet-to-be titled Dulquer-Mrunal film and Priyanka Dutt of Vyjayanthi Movies will be presenting it. It has music scored by Vishal Chandrashekhar and cinematography by PS Vinod.

Vinayakan, Dev Mohan, Shine Tom Chacko and Lal star together in Panthrand

Vinayakan, ‘Sufiyum Sujathayum’ fame Dev Mohan, Shine Tom Chacko and Lal are coming together for a new film titled ‘Panthrand’. It is written and directed by Leo Thaddeus. The film was officially launched today with a title look motion poster. It is produced by Victor Abraham of Skypass Entertainment.

Apart from the four leads, ‘Panthrand’ will have a bunch of newcomers as part of the cast. The makers are yet to details reveal regarding the genre. On the core technical front, the film has Alphons Joseph as the music director and Swaroop Shoba Shankar as the cinematographer. Nabu Usman will be handling the edits. Costume designer Dhanya Balakrishnan, art director Joseph Nellickal, makeup artist Amal Chandran, sound designer Tony Babu and action choreographer Phoenix Babu are also part of team.

Vikram Hindi dubbing rights bagged for a whopping Rs 37 crores

Lokesh Kanagaraj’s ‘Vikram’ has one of the biggest casting coups of recent times with Kamal Haasan, Fahadh Faasil and Vijay Sethupathi as the leads. This star-studded cast is helping the film bag solid deals in the trade circles. Goldmines Telefilms has bagged the Hindi dubbing rights for a whopping price of Rs 37 crore.

Reportedly, ‘Vikram’ will be Kamal Haasan’s most profitable film (on the table) in recent times. His own banner Raaj Kamal Film International (RKFI) is producing the film. Apart from the Hindi rights, huge offers are pouring in for digital and satellite rights as well. The presence of Fahadh Faasil ensures that the film will have a separate business in Kerala.

‘Vikram’ also stars Narain and Arjun Das. The technical front comprises of National award-winning cinematographer Girish Gangadharan, editor Philomin Raj and music director Anirudh Ravichander.

As announced, the makers of ‘RRR’ have released the first single online. MM Keeravani has composed the song, which has been released in 5 languages — Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. It is sung by Hema Chandra (Telugu), Anirudh Ravichander (Tamil), Vijay Yesudas (Malayalam), Amit Trivedi (Hindi) and Yazin Nizar (Kannada).
Madhan Karky (Tamil), Riya Mukherjee (Hindi), Sirivennela Sitaramasastri (Telugu), Mankombu Gopalakrishnan (Malayalam) and Azad Varadaraj (Kannada) have penned the lyrics.

Recently, Bhushan Kumar’s T Series and Lahari Music bagged the music rights of ‘RRR’ for all languages (Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam). Reportedly, the total music rights deal for all the languages is worth a whopping Rs 26 crores, which is a new all-time audio rights record for any Indian film till date.

‘RRR’ directed by SS Rajamouli has had huge hype right from the time of its announcement. The film starring Ram Charan and Jr NTR as the leads promises to be an action-packed epic. It is about two freedom fighters, Alluri Sita Ramaraju and Komaram Bheem who fought against the British Raj and the Nizam of Hyderabad, respectively. Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Olivia Morris, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, Samuthirakani and many others are part of the cast.

The makers have confirmed October 13, 2021 as the theatrical release

Dileep-Nadhirshah film ‘Keshu Ee Veedinte Nathan’ has finally been wrapped up. The makers completed the shoot with a song portion, which was filmed in Pollachi. Dileep and Anusree feature in the song. Location stills of the same have been shared in social medias.

‘Keshu Ee Veedinte Nathan’ is family drama that has Dileep in two different looks. One of them has the actor playing a middle-aged person’s role. Urvashi essays the part of his wife. ‘June’ fame Vaishnavi and ‘Thanneer Mathan Dhinangal’ fame Naslen will be seen as their kids in the film.

Sajeev Pazhoor, who won the National award for ‘Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum’, has scripted the film. Nadhirshah believes that it is the most fun film that he has done in his career so far. Though the makers have not announced the release plans, they are keen on getting it to theatres as the film is made for the audience to watch and enjoy from the big screen.

Mohanlal currently has some promising projects like ‘Bro Daddy’, ’12th Man’ and a boxing film with Priyadarshan film lined up. We hear that the superstar has committed for one more film. He will be teaming up with director Tinu Pappachan for a mass entertainer, which will be produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. Antony Varghese will also be part of the cast.

Tinu Pappachan, an associate of Lijo Jose Pellissery, made a highly promising start to his filmmaking career. His directorial debut ‘Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil’ was noted for its stylized making and mass-elevation scenes. Antony Varghese played the lead role in it. They both teamed up again for ‘Ajagajantharam’, release of which has been postponed due to the pandemic.

It is worth a mention here that both the films helmed by Tinu have been high on action. So it will be interesting to see if he is planning an action-packed entertainer with Mohanlal. An official announcement regarding the project is eagerly awaited.
