Rajisha Vijayan’s character look from Jai Bhim revealed
Suriya’s new film ‘Jai Bhim’ also stars Malayali actress Rajisha Vijayan in a prominent role. It is her second film in Tamil after making an impressive debut with the Dhanush-starrer ‘Karnan’. Rajisha’s character look from ‘Jai Bhim’ got released recently. Notably, she is sporting a different hairstyle for the character.

‘Jai Bhim’ directed by ‘Kootathil Oruthan’ fame TJ Gnanavel is a social drama based on a real-life legal battle that occurred in 1993. The film has Suriya as an advocate who fights for the rights of a tribal community. Another Malayali actress Lijomol Jose of ‘Maheshinte Prathikaram’ fame and Manikandan will be seen as a tribal couple. Veteran Prakash Raj essays the part of a cop. Details regarding Rajisha’s character are not yet known.
Apart from ‘Jai Bhim’, Rajisha also has ‘Sardhar’ with Karthi coming up in Tamil. She is also making her entry to Telugu cinema with ‘Ramarao On Duty’ that has Ravi Teja as the lead.
Nithya Menen also part of Ayyappanum Koshiyum Telugu remake
Shoot for the Telugu remake of hit Malayalam film ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ is currently progressing. Starring Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati as the leads, the film is being directed by Saagar K Chandra. Sithara Entertainments, one of the leading banners in Telugu industry, is producing the film.
‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ tells the story of a raging conflict fulled by a battle of egos between a policeman and a retired havildar, played by Biju Menon and Prithviraj respectively. In the Telugu remake, Pawan Kalyan plays the cop character named Bheemla Nayak. If reports are to be believed, Nithya Menen will be seen in his wife’s role in the film.
In the original version, a lesser-known actor named Gowri Nanda had played the part and her performance was widely praised. It will be interesting to see how Nithya Menen pulls it off. Notably, this is also the first time Pawan Kalyan and Nithya Menen are acting together.
Netrikann trailer out; Nayanthara starrer promises to be an edge-of-the-seat thriller
The trailer of Nayanthara’s new film ‘Netrikann’ has been released online. Directed by Milind Rau of ‘Aval’ fame, the film promises to be a gripping thriller. Nayanthara’s character in the film is a blind person who has some other special skills. The story is about her hunt for a criminal who kidnaps and tortures young women. Ajmal plays the antagonist’s role.
‘Netrikann’ is said to be the official remake of ‘Blind’, a popular Korean thriller film. Its story is about a talented woman cadet at the police academy who loses her eye sight after a horrific car accident. Years later, she solves a murder case with the help of her dog and her strong skills in detecting senses.
‘Netrikann’ seems to have been adapted with slight changes in the script to suit the sensibilities of the Tamil audience. The film has cinematography by RD Rajasekhar, music by Girishh Gopalakrishnan and edits by Lawrence Kishore. Nayanthara’s boyfriend and filmmaker Vignesh Shivan is producing the film under the banner of Rowdy Pictures Pvt Ltd.
‘Netrikann’ will be releasing directly on Disney + Hotstar. It will streaming from August 13 in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
Release date announced for Prabhas starrer Radhe Shyam
Prabhas starrer ‘Radhe Shyam’ was originally planned to be released today (July 30) but due to the pandemic situation, the makers were forced to drop their plans. They have now announced January 14, 2022 as new release date. With this announcement, Telugu cinema is set to witness a massive box office clash next Sankranti.
Mahesh Babu ‘Sarkaru Vaari Paata’ and ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ remake starring Pawan Kalyan and Rana Daggubati have already been confirmed to be released during the same period. It remains to be seen if any of the films get a change in release plans to avoid a clash.
‘Radhe Shyam’ directed by Radha Krishna Kumar is a period love story set in an European backdrop. The cast also includes Malayali actor Jayaram, Sachin Khedekar, Bhagyashree, Sasga Chettri, Priyadarshi Pullikonda, Murli Sharma, Riddhi Kapoor, Sasha Chettri, Sathyan and Kunaal Roy Kapoor.
‘Radhe Shyam’ will have a pan-Indian release. It will be released simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages. It is jointly produced by UV Creations and T-Series.
Vikrant Massey and Radhika Apte to play the leads in Forensic Hindi remake
We had earlier reported about the hit Malayalam film ‘Forensic’ getting remade in Hindi. Vishal Furia will be directing the film with Vikrant Massey and Radhika Apte as the leads. Mansi Bagla of Mini Films has bagged the remake rights. Its motion poster has just been released online.
‘Forensic’ starring Tovino Thomas, Mamta Mohandas and Reba Monica John as the main leads got released in February, 2020 and emerged as a box office hit. Akhil Paul and Anas Khan jointly directed the film, which is a crime-investigative thriller centred around a series of abduction and killing of girl children. Tovino essayed the lead role of a medico legal advisor while Mamta Mohandas did an equally important character of an IPS officer who heads the investigation.
In the Hindi version, Vikrant Massey will be reprising the lead role played by Tovino while Radhika Apte is expected to essay the character done by Mamta Mohandas.

Veteran star Sanjay Dutt is celebrating his 62nd birthday today. On this occasion, the makers of ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ have shared a special poster featuring him. Sanju Baba looks majestic and imposing in the new poster. He plays the antagonist character named Adheera. His presence is one of the most exciting factors about the film. Last day, being Dulquer Salmaan’s birthday, social medias were abuzz with exciting updates from the star’s new films. ‘Kurup’ team released a special poster in the evening. It features Dulquer stylishly smoking a cigarette. The poster came out in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi languages indicating a multilingual release.

‘Kurup’ is directed by Srinath Rajendran of ‘Second Show’ and ‘Koothara’ fame. The film is based on India’s most wanted fugitive, Sukumara Kurup. Jithin K Jose has written the story while its screenplay is penned jointly by KS Aravind and Daniel Sayooj Nair.
Indrajith Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Sobhita Dhulipala, Vijayaraghavan, Shine Tom Chacko, Surabhi Lekshmi and many others are part of the supporting cast. Cinematographer Nimish Ravi, music director Sushin Shyam, art director Vinesh Bangalan and editor Vivek Harshan form the core technical team.
Dulquer’s own banner Wayfarer Films is producing the film along with M Star Entertainment. Release plans have not yet been announced.
Dulquer Salmaan’s film with Abhilash Joshiy titled King of Kotha
We were among the first to report about Dulquer Salmaan starring in the directorial debut of with veteran filmmaker Joshiy’s son Abhilash. Last day, on the occasion of the star’s birthday, the project got officially announced. The films has been titled as ‘King of Kotha’ and its announcement poster has Dulquer in a rugged-mass look holding a gun.
Announcing the project, he wrote,
One of the reasons why I love my birthday is because I get to share all these exciting new projects and posters with you guys.

Dulquer Salmaan’s film with Abhilash Joshiy titled King of Kotha
Abilash N Chandran of ‘Porinju Mariam Jose’ fame is scripting ‘King of Kotha’. Earlier in an interview, Dulquer had revealed that the film will be an entertainer made on a big canvas. Abhilash Joshiy is planning to make it like his father’s films, which are best known as proper commercial entertainers.
Dulquer’s own production house Wayfarer Films is producing the film. More details regarding the other cast and crew members are expected to be out soon.
Dulquer Salmaan to star in Soubin Shahir’s next directorial Othiram Kadakam
Last day, on the special occasion of Dulquer Salmaan’s birthday, it was announced that the star would be teaming up with Soubin Shahir for a new film titled ‘Othiram Kadakam’. It is Soubin’s second directorial after the hit film, ‘Parava’. Dulquer had played a memorable cameo role in it. Though Soubin had announced another film with Kunchacko Boban in 2018, it hasn’t taken off yet.
‘Othiram Kadakam’ was announced with an intriguing first look. Dulquer shared it in his social media handle and wrote,
Totally channeling the birthday vibes in this !! Super excited to announce this brand new film, “Othiram Kadakam”. This will be my second movie with my machan Soubin donning the director’s hat and I am really looking forward to it.

Kuruthi set to premiere in Amazon Prime Video; Release date announced
Prithviraj’s ‘Kuruthi’ will be releasing directly on Amazon Prime Video. The makers have announced that the film will be premiering on August 11 as an Onam special. This is Prithviraj’s second straight OTT release after ‘Cold Case’, which also premiered on Amazon.
‘Kuruthi’ is directed by debutant Manu Warrier and scripted by Anish Pallyal. From the posters released so far, the film promises to be an intense action thriller. The cast also includes Murali Gopy, Roshan Mathew, Shine Tom Chacko, Srindaa, Mamukkoya, Manikandan Rajan, ‘Thanneer Mathan Dhinangal’ fame Naslen, Navas Vallikkunnu and ‘Thatteem Mutteem’ fame Sagar Surya.
‘Kuruthi’ was originally supposed to hit screens in May. However, theatrical release plans got dropped due to the pandemic second wave. Prithviraj, who is also the film’s producer, has pinned high hopes on it. Earlier, Murali Gopy had said that ‘Kuruthi’ would be one of the most important mainstream movies in today’s times.
