Vetrimaaran donates Rs 10 lakhs to Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund

After Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalain plea’s to the public to contribute towards the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund (CMPRF), many are coming forward with generous donations. Celebrities from the film industry are making hefty contributions towards the cause. Ace filmmaker Vetrimaaran is that latest, as he donated Rs 10 lakhs to the CMPRF.

Earlier, actor Ajith had donated 25 lakhs to the CMPRF and Rs 10 lakhs to the welfare of the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) workers. Actors Suriya, Karthi and their father Sivakumar had also donated Rs 1 crore to the CMPRF.

Superstar Rajinikanth’s daughter Soundarya and her family also contributed Rs 1 crore to the CMPRF. Soundarya, her husband Vishagan, his sister and their father SS Vanangamudi personally met the TN Chief Minister and handed over the donation, which is made on behalf of their pharmaceutical company Apex Laboratory.

Dileep’s ‘Keshu Ee Veedinte Nathan’ has been long delayed. The film was supposed to hit screens last year itself but it kept delaying due to the pandemic. It finally seems like the makers are eyeing to release the film by September this year. An official announcement is expected to be made only after taking in consideration the pandemic situation.

Keshu Ee Veedinte Nathan’ is a family drama directed by Nadhirshah. Sajeev Pazhoor of ‘Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum’ fame has scripted the film. Dileep plays a middle-aged person’s role while Urvashi essays the part of his wife. The two actors are playing a couple for the first time and that is one of the film’s biggest highlights. ‘June’ fame Vaishnavi and ‘Thanneer Mathan Dhinangal’ fame Naslen will be seen as their kids.

‘Keshu Ee Veedinte Nathan’ also stars Anusree, Siddique, Salim Kumar, Harisree Ashokan, Kalabhavan Shajohn, Hareesh Kanaran, Sreejith Ravi, Jaffer Idukki, Kottayam Nazeer, Ganapathi and Swasika. The film is being produced by NAD Group headed by Dileep and Nadhrishah.

Aarkkariyam set for OTT release tomorrow

‘Aarkkariyam’ starring Parvathy, Biju Menon and Sharafudheen as the leads is all set for OTT release tomorrow (May 17). The film will be streaming on Neestream, the platform that released the widely-talked about ‘The Great Indian Kitchen’.

‘Aarkkariyam’ is the directorial debut of popular cinematographer Sanu John Varughese. It is scripted jointly by Sanu, Rajesh Ravi and Arun Janardhanan. The story is set during the initial days of pandemic. It is about a couple who travel from Mumbai to Kerala just before the nationwide lockdown is announced. Parvathy and Sharafudheen will be seen as the married couple. Biju Menon essays the role of Parvathy’s father in the film. Saiju Kurup and Arya Salim have done essaying other crucial roles in the film.

‘Aarkariyam’ hit screens on April 3 and the film got largely positive reviews from the critics. Both the strong content as well as the performances of its lead actors were widely praised.

The film’s technical department includes G Sreenivas Reddy as the cinematographer and Mahesh Narayanan as the editor. Neha Nair- Yakzan Gary Pereira duo is composing the songs and background score is done by Sanjay Divecha.

‘Aarkkariyam’ is produced jointly by filmmaker Aashiq Abu’s OPM Dream Mill and Santhosh T Kuruvilla’s Moonshot Entertainment.

After a successful theatrical run, ‘Operation Java’ has started streaming on Zee 5. Those who missed the film from theatres are catching up and the response s9 far has been highly positive. Actor Kunchacko Boban seems to have been highly impressed by the film as is evident from a message he sent to Prashanth Alexander, who has done an important role in it. Kunchacko Boban has written that the film’s making was impeccable and added that he’s eagerly looking forward to the second part.

‘Operation Java’ written and directed by debutant Tharun Moorthy is a gripping police procedural film set around the world of cyber crimes. It also addresses an important issue about unemployment. The film ends with the possibility of a second part and the makers have already confirmed that a sequel will be made but after 2-3 years.

Tamil Bigg Boss-fame Mugen Rao is playing the lead in a new film titled ‘Velan’. Directed by Kavin Moorthy, the film is a commercial entertainer centred around a Tamil family and a Malayali. Soori plays a major role in the film. He will be seen as die-hard fan of Malayalam superstar Mammootty. Interestingly, even his character in the film is named as’ Mammookka’ Dineshan. His character poster got released online today.

‘Velan’ has Meenakshi Govindharaj as the female lead. The story is about the 50-year spite between the protagonist Mugen’s family and the antagonist. Hareesh Peradi, who has done notable roles in Tamil films like ‘Vikram Vedha’ and ‘Bigil’, is essaying the latter’s role. Joe Malloori, Billy Murali, Thambi Ramaiah, Lollu Sabha Swaminathan, TM Karthik, Prankster Rahul, and Brigida Saga are also part of the supporting cast.

‘Velan’ has music by Gopi Sundar, editing by Sarath and cinematography by Gopi Jagadeeswaran. It is being produced by Kalaimagan of Skyman Films International.

Ajith donates Rs 10 lakhs for the benefit of the FEFSI union cine industry workers

Last day, Tamil superstar Ajith had contributed Rs 25 lakhs towards the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund (CMPRF) to help in the fight against Covid-19. He has now followed it up with another Rs 10 lakhs for the welfare of the Film Employees Federation of South India (FEFSI) workers. Last year also, Ajith had offered financial assistance worth Rs 1.25 crores. He had donated Rs 50 lakhs each to the Prime Minister’s Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM-CARES) fund and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister’s relief fund. Apart from that, he also contributed Rs 25 lakhs to the FEFSI workers.

As the whole nation is suffering severely due to the pandemic, people from all walks of the society are doing their bit to help those in distress. Many from the film industry are contributing generously towards the cause. Recently, actors Suriya, Karthi and their father Sivakumar met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin and donated Rs 1 crore.

We had earlier reported about Jayasurya playing the lead in Nadhirshah’s next. It was initially rumoured to be titled as ‘Gandhi Square’. However, the makers have officially announced the title as ‘Eesho’. The film’s motion poster has been shared by actors Mammootty, Prithviraj and Unni Mukundan.

Nadhirshah as a director is well known for helming fun-filled entertainers. All his three films, ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’, ‘Kattapanayile Rithwik Roshan’ and ‘Mera Naam Shaji’, had humour as the main element. ‘Eesho’, however, is a thriller and it will be interesting to see how Nadhirshah has handled it.

Suneesh Varanad, who had earlier scripted the Manju Warrier-starrer ‘Mohanlal’, is penning this film as well. It has Namitha Pramod as the female lead. Salim Kumar will be also seen playing an important role.On the technical front, Roby Varghese Raj has handled the cinematography and edits are by Shameer Muhammed. Nadhirshah is composing the songs and background score is by Jakes Bejoy.

Operation Java starts streaming on Zee5

This year’s surprise hit film ‘Operation Java’ has started streaming on Zee 5. The film is also set to have its television premiere on Zee Kerala today (May 15) at 7 PM. Directed by debutant Tharun Moorthy, ‘Operation Java’ is a gripping film centred around the world of cyber crimes. Upon its theatrical release on February 12, the film got critical appreciation and also emerged as a commercial success. It had a successful theatrical run for around 75 days.

‘Operation Java’ has Balu Varghese, Lukman, Vinayakan, Irshad, Shine Tom Chacko, Binu Pappu, Dhanya Ananya, Mamitha Baiju, Vineetha Koshy and Prashanth Alexander in majof roles. Though the film had big star in it, the film became a box office hit once again proving that there are always takers for good content.

‘Operation Java’ is also getting remade in multiple languages. Raj Zacharias of Celebs and Red Carpet has already acquired the Hindi remake rights. Talks for other languages are also underway. More details regarding the remake versions are expected to be out soon.

Rajinikanth gets second dose of Covid-19 vaccine

Superstar Rajinikanth got his second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at a private hospital in Chennai on Thursday (May 13). His daughter, Soundarya Rajinikanth took to her Twitter handle to share a photo of her father completing the vaccination process.

Rajnikanth recently returned back to Chennai after successfully completing the shoot of ‘Annaatthe’. The film directed by Siva for delayed multiple times as the makers had to face various hurdles caused by the pandemic. Rajinikanth finally wrapped up the shoot with a non-stop 35 days schedule held in Hyderabad.

‘Annaatthe’ is touted to a mass entertainer with a huge star cast. Keerthy Suresh, Meena, Khushbu, Nayanthara, Jagapathi Babu, Prakash Raj, Sathish, Vela Ramamoorthy, Soori and Bala will be seen in supporting roles. Sun Pictures is planning to release the film in theatres in November for Deepavali.
