Shoot for Prithviraj starrer ‘Kaduva’ is currently progressing. Veteran Shaji Kailas is directing the film and it is being produced by Prithviraj Productions along with Listin Stephen’s Magic Frames. The film touted to be a mass entertainer has an elaborate cast with several known actors in it.

Prithviraj recently welcomed Arjun Ashokan to ‘Kaduva’ team. Sharing one of Arjun’s photos from the location, the former wrote,

Arjun Ashokan has shown remarkable growth as an actor over the last couple years. Since this is his first outing with Prithviraj, the youngster will be hoping to make a mark. He also has multiple other projects lined up in his kitty.

‘Kaduva’ also stars Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi, Samyuktha Menon, Sai Kumar, Siddique, Janardhanan, Aju Varghese, Rahul Madhav, Vijayaraghavan, Seema, Kochu Preman and Priyanka in supporting roles.

Virunnu: Arjun Sarja part of Kannan Thamarakkulam’s next

Veteran Tamil actor Arjun Sarja is set to act in a new Malayalam film titled ‘Virunnu’. The film is directed by Kannan Thamarakkulam and scripted by Dinesh Pallath. Arjun was last seen in Malayalam in ‘Jack Daniel’, in which he shared screen space with Dileep. He is also part of the upcoming biggie ‘Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham’.

‘Virunnu’ has him playing a mysterious character. The cast also includes Gireesh Neyyar, Mukesh, Baiju Santhosh, Aju Varghese, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Hareesh Peradi and Asha Sarath among others. The film will have music by Ratheesh Vega and cinematography by Ravichandran. VT Sreejith is the editor. The makers are planning to start shooting in May.

‘Virunnu’ marks the fifth outing of Kannan Thamarakkulam and Dinesh Pallath together. The writer-director duo has previously teamed up for ‘Thinkal Muthal Velli Vare’, ‘Aadupuliyattam’, ‘Pattabhiraman’ and ‘Maradu 357’.

‘Maradu 357’ based on the Maradu flats demolition is expected to hit screens soon. The film was completed almost a year back but release got delayed due to the pandemic.

Operation Java streaming rights bagged by Zee5

After running successfully in theatres for 75 days, ‘Operation Java’ is now set for OTT release. Zee Kerala has bagged the satellite rights and their own digital platform Zee5 has bagged the streaming rights. The makers are expected to announce the OTT release date very soon.

‘Operation Java’ directed by debutant Tharun Moorthy is a film centred around cyber crimes. Despite the presence of no big star and the audience restriction enforced due to the pandemic, the film managed to emerge as a box office hit. Balu Varghese, Lukman, Vinayakan, Irshad, Shine Tom Chacko, Binu Pappu, Dhanya Ananya, Mamitha Baiju, Vineetha Koshy, Johny Antony and Prashanth Alexander played the main roles in it.

Critics as well as common audience lapped up the film proving that there is always takers for good content. ‘Operation Java’ is also set to be remade in other languages. The makers have received remake offers from various languages and an official word regarding the same will be out soon. Director Tharun Moorthy has also confirmed that a sequel will be made, but only after 2-3 years.

As reported by us earlier, the 2015-released Malayalam film ‘Adi Kapyare Koottamani’ is getting remade in Tamil as ‘Hostel’. Ashok Selvan and Priya Bhavani Shankar are playing the lead roles in it. The film’s first look poster got released online last day. It is directed by Sumanth Radhakrishnan and produced by R Ravindran of Trident Arts.

‘Adi Kapyare Koottamani’ is a youthful comedy entertainer with a tinge of horror element in it. The story is centred around a girl getting stuck in a men’s hostel and the fun incidents that follow. Debutant John Varghese directed the film, which emerged successful at the box office. After its release, a sequel was also announced by producer Vijay Babu but there has been no futher updates about it.

The Tamil remake has Ashok Selvan and Priya Bhavani Shankar reprising the roles played by Dhyan Sreenivasan and Namitha Pramod in the original. The film’s cast also includes Sathish, Nasser and Munishkanth in major roles. Praveen Kumar is the cinematographer and Bobo Shashi of Kulir 100° fame is composing the music.

Shoot for ‘Hostel’ has already been completed and release date is expected to be out soon.

Valimai first look release postponed

Last month, it was announced that the first look poster and the promotions of Ajith starrer ‘Valimai’ will be initiated from May 1, which happens to be the star’s 50th birthday. Fans, who have been impatiently waiting for an update for several months, were highly excited about the first look release. However, much to their disappointment, the makers have decided to postpone it. They have taken the decision in view of the impact of the second wave of Covid-19 across the country.

‘Valimai’ is one of the most hyped projects in Tamil cinema in recent years. H Vinoth of ‘Theeran’ fame is directing then film. It is said to be a cop thriller made on a lavish budget. Huma Qureshi, Kartikeya Gummakonda, Yogi Babu and Achyuth Kumar are part of the film’s cast.

Though it has been well over a year since shoot commenced, the team had to face several hurdles mainly due to the pandemic. In the meanwhile, fans were also constantly expressing their displeasure in not sharing updates with them regularly. #ValimaiUpdate has been a regularly trending hashtag in Twitter and fans often storm the social media handles of the film’s cast and crew members pestering them for updates.

After this relentless behaviour from fans broadened outside the walls of social media, Ajith was forced to come out with a strong-worded statement urging them not to indulge in such acts. He expressed his disappointment and asked his fans to maintain dignity and discipline in public.

Indrajith and Suraj Venjaramoodu team up for a thriller based on a real-life incident

We had recently reported about Suraj Venjaramoodu and Indrajith Sukumaran teaming up for a new film. M Padmakumar is directing the film, which went on floors earlier this week in Thodupuzha. The director had originally planned to make the film with Asif Ali and Suraj. However, the former latter got replaced due to some unknown reasons.

Abhilash Pillai is scripting the film, which is yet-to-be titled. According to the scenarist, the film is a thriller inspired from an incident that occurred few years back in Kerala. It is a family-based emotional thriller in which Aditi Ravi and Swasika Vijay will be seen as the female leads.

Dr Zachariah Thomas, Gijo Kavanal, Sreejith Ramachandran and Prince Paul are joining producing the film under the banner of United Global Media. Ranjin Raj, who wad launched by director Padmakumar through ‘Joseph’, has been retained as the music director. Ratheesh Ram is the cinematographer and edits will be handled by Shameer Muhammed.

Mammootty’s political drama ‘One’ is coming to streaming giant Netflix this Tuesday (April 27). The film had its theatrical release on March 26 and had a pretty decent run. Directed by Santhosh Viswanath and scripted by Bobby-Sanjay, the film is a political drama. Mammootty plays the lead role of Kerala Chief Minister Kadakkal Chandran in it. His performance as the righteous political leader who works for the welfare of the people garnered praise.

‘One’ had huge pre-release hype majorly due to the fact that Mammootty was doing a political film in Malayalam after several years. Along with him, the film also has a huge supporting cast. Joju George, Nimisha Sajayan, Binu Pappu, Murali Gopy, Ranjith, Sudev Nair, Suresh Krishna, Salim Kumar, Shanker Ramakrishnan, Alencier Ley Lopez, Mamukoya, P Balachandran, Mathew Thomas, Prem Kumar, Krishna Kumar and Ishaani Krishna are also part of the film.

Sreelakshmi R is producing ‘One’ under the banner of Ichais Productions and it is being released by Central Pictures.

Dhanush’s recently released film ‘Karnan’ has emerged as a huge blockbuster at the box office. The film directed by Mari Selvaraj has garnered praise from both the critics and common audience. As the film continues to run successfully in theatres, it has been announced that Dhanush and Mari Selvaraj would be teaming up for the second time. The star took to his Twitter handle to share the big news. He has tweeted,

Shoot will commence next year.

Dhanush is currently in the US shooting for his upcoming Netflix film ‘The Gray Man’, directed by the Russo Brothers. The film has him sharing screen space with Hollywood stars Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans. After its completion, Dhanush will resume shooting for his thriller film with director Karthick Naren. He also has ‘Naane Varuven’ with his brother Selvaraghavan and an untitled film with ‘Raatchasan’ director Ram Kumar.

Unni Mukundan goes through yet another physical transformation; Check out his new pics!

Unni Mukundan is known to be a fitness freak who is willing to go through physical transformations for playing characters convincingly. For his upcoming film ‘Meppadiyan’, he had put on weight. Since he plays an ordinary guy-next-door role in it, Unni gained body fat, which included a pot belly. After the completion of its shoot, he had informed that he will be shedding all the extra weight in 3 months time. He had also put up a challenge with his followers to share their transformation photos.

After 3 months, Unni has now shared photos of his new look. The actor has shed 16 kilos as he brought it down from 93 kgs of fat body to 77 kgs of fit body. Along with thanking his fitness trainer, Unni also congratulated all those who took part in the fitness challenge and thanked them for motivating him. A video that captures the rigorous process of his physical transformation will be out soon.

Each message and image from you guys motivated me.

I had gained the body fat for Meppadiyan. I was 93kgs. It was one hell of a ride for me. Shedding 16kgs in 3 months time. If I can do it ,
anybody can. Remember, You never train the Body, You always train the Mind. Envision what You want and believe that you can achieve your goals. Because, thoughts becomes words and Words becomes Actions. Thank You all?
