Tamil actor Vishnu Vishal and ace shuttler Jwala Gutta tied the knot today in a private ceremony held in Hyderabad. Photos from their marriage function are currently doing the rounds in social medias. They also had a haldi and mehendi ceremony last day with only family members and close friends in attendance.

On April 13, Vishnu and Jwala took to their respective social media handles to inform followers that they will get married in an intimate ceremony on April 22. The two have been dating for a couple of years now. Last September on Jwala’s birthday, Vishnu surprised her with an engagement. This is the second marriage for both of them. Vishnu got married to Rajini Natraj in 2010 and the couple has a son named Aryan. They got divorced in 2018. Jwala, on the other hand, was married to fellow badminton player Chetan Anand for 6 years, before getting divorced in 2011.

Chathur Mukham withdrawn from theatres due to surge in Covid-19 cases

As the nation is reeling under a brutal second wave of the pandemic, threats of a full lockdown is looming large. Already several states have implemented partial lockdowns which includes shutting downs of malls, theatres and restaurants. Like last year, entertainment industry has once again been severely hit. Several films which were were running successfully in theatres are now being withdrawn by the makers.

The Malayalam film ‘Chathur Mukham’ is being withdrawn despite it having a good run so far. Informing the same through her social media handle, lead actress Manju Warrier has written,

Dear ones,
We are temporarily withdrawing our film CHATHURMUKHAM from theatres in Kerala considering the current situation all around and everyone’s health. We will definitely be back in theatres for you when it is safer, hopefully very soon.

‘Chathur Mukham’ directed by Ranjeet Kamala Sankar and Salil V. Manju Warrier and Sunny Wayne play the lead roles in the film, which is a techno-horror thriller, a first of its kind attempt in Malayalam. Anil Kumar and Abhaya Kumar have jointly penned the script. Upon its release on April 8, the film opened to largely positive response. On Vishu day (April 14), it got released in UAE and GCC region as well.

Director Vetrimaaran has unveiled the title and first look of his next film. Titled as ‘Viduthalai’, it has Soori and Vijay Sethupathi as the leads. The first look poster features Soori as a police constable and Vijay Sethupathi as an accused wearing a handcuff. The poster has similarities to Vetrimaaran’s own film, ‘Visaranai’, which was India’s official entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 89th Academy Awards.

‘Viduthalai’ is said to be based on the short story ‘Thunaivan’ written by Jeyamohan. The story was first published in the magazine, Ananda Vikatan in 1992. As per the makers, the film has Soori as the protagonist and Sethupathi as the mentor.

Ilaiyaraja is composing music for the film. This is the maestro’s first time collaboration with Vetrimaaran, so expectations are on the higher side. R Velraj is cranking the camera and Peter Hein handles the stunt choreography. Elred Kumar of RS Infotainment is producing the film, shoot for which is still progressing.

Samyuktha Menon also part of Prithviraj’s Kaduva

Shoot for Prithviraj starrer ‘Kaduva’ had begun only recently. Shaji Kailas is directing the film and it is being produced by Prithviraj Productions along with Listin Stephen’s Magic Frames. The film touted to be a mass entertainer has an elaborate cast with several known actors in it. Samyuktha Menon is playing the female lead’s part. It is not yet known if she is paired opposite Prithviraj or is essaying another important role alongside him. It must be noted that this is their first film together. Samyuktha was last seen in the anthology film ‘Aanum Pennum’.

‘Kaduva’ has Prithviraj playing a character named Kaduvakunnel Kuruvachan. The makers had recently shared some location stills in which he looked rough and intense. With an-white kurta and thick beard, he sports a typical ‘Achayan’ look in the film.

Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi essaying another prominent role in ‘Kaduva’. Sai Kumar, Siddique, Janardhanan, Aju Varghese, Rahul Madhav, Vijayaraghavan, Samyuktha Menon, Seema, Kochu Preman and Priyanka. Vridhi Vishal, who became viral after her sensational dancing in a marriage function, has been cast as Prithviraj’s daughter in the film.

Watch: Trailer of Salman Khan’s Radhe is racy and action-packed

Salman Khan’s new film ‘Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai’ is scheduled for release on May 13. The film will release simultaneously in cinemas and digital mediums (pay per view). The makers have now shared the trailer online. From the two-minute long trailer, we can make out that it is another typical mass masala star-vehicle aimed at the fans. The trailer has plenty action in it apart from glossy songs and Salman’s punch dialogues.

‘Radhe’ is the spin-off the lead character from Salman’s 2009-released blockbuster film, ‘Wanted’. Prabhu Deva, who directed that film, is helming this one as well. Disha Patani will be seen as the female lead. Randeep Hooda essays the prime antagonist’s role while Jackie Shroff is also there in an important role.

‘Radhe’ is produced jointly by Salman Khan, Sohail Khan and Atul Agnihotri under the banners Salman Khan Films, Sohail Khan Productions and Reel Life Productions Private Limited respectively.

Vijay Sethupathi’s Tughlaq Durbar opts for a direct OTT release

Vijay Sethupathi has multiple projects lined up and one of the most promising among them is ‘Tughlaq Durbar’. The film is directed by debutant Delhi Prasad Deenadayal is a mass entertainer centred around local politics. The film’s has been long delayed due to the pandemic. It is now learnt that the makers have opted for a direct OTT release. Disney + Hot Star has bagged the streaming rights, and an original word regarding the release date will be out soon.

According to the makers, ‘Tughlaq Durbar’ has an out-and-out mass subject. Vijay Sethupathi plays a character named Singam. The story revolves around his transformation from a betrayer into a good person. Raashi Khanna is paired with Sethupathi in the film. Malayali actress Manjima Mohan is also playing a prominent role as his sister. Veteran actor Parthiepan essays the antagonist’s role.

The film’s technical team includes Manoj Paramahamsa as the DOP and Govind Vasantha as the music director. Balaji Tharaneetharan, who has directed films like ‘Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom’ and ‘Seethakaathi’, has written the dialogues. It is being produced jointly by 7 Screen Studio and Viacom 18.

‘Barroz’ is a 3D fantasy film set against the backdrop of the maritime history of Portugal, Spain, India and Africa. The film is scripted by ‘My Dear Kuttichathan’ director Jijo Punnoose. Mohanlal plays the titular role and a 13-year-old child artiste named Shayla McCaffrey essays the other lead. Rafael Amargo, Sara Vega, Cesar Lorente Raton, Don, Joshua and many other foreign actors are part of the cast. Prithviraj Sukumaran and Prathap Pothen are the only Malayali actors known to be part of the film so far.

Suraj Venjaramoodu and Indrajith in Padmakumar’s next after Mamangam

Director M Padmakumar’s next film after ‘Mamangam’ is all set to be launched. Suraj Venjaramoodu and Indrajith Sukumaran have been signed to play the lead roles. Dr Zachariah Thomas, Gijo Kavanal, Sreejith Ramachandran and Prince Paul are joining producing the film under the banner of United Global Media. Debutant Abhilash Pillai is scripting the film and Ranjin Raj of ‘Joseph’ fame has been entrusted as the music director. The launch event will be held tomorrow (April 22) at Thodupuzha.

Director M Padmakumar had initially planned to make the film with Asif Ali and Suraj. However, the former later got replaced due to some unknown reasons. Padmakumar was also set to helm a thriller film, scripted by Vinod Guruvayoor. It was about a bunch of students who set out on a trip to Kodaikanal and the problems they endure during this journey. The current status of that project is not known.

Recently, on Vishu day, director Sathyan Anthikad had announced that his next film will have Jayaram and Meera Jasmine in the lead roles. Dr Iqbal Kuttippuram is scripting the film and it is produced by Central Pictures.

Last day, Jayaram shared a candid photo taken with Sathyan Anthikad during one of their recent script discussion sessions. The actor-director duo has worked together in several memorable films in the 90s and 2000s. ‘Ponmuttayidunna Tharavu’, ‘Mazhavilkavadi’, ‘Thalayanamanthram’, ‘Sandhesam’, ‘Thooval Kottaram’, ‘Veendum Chila Veettukaryangal’, ‘Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal’ and ‘Manassinakkare’ are some of them. It is after 11 years that they are teaming up now.

Sathyan Anthikad’s frequent collaborator S Kumar will be cranking the camera and music department will be handled by ‘Ambili’ fame Vishnu Vijay. Art director Prashant Madhav, costume designer Sameera Saneesh and sound designer Anil Radhakrishnan are also part of the technical team. ‘Njan Prakashan’ fame Devika Sanjay, Innocent, Siddique and Sreenivasan will be seen in supporting roles.

It’s a wrap for Drishyam 2 Telugu version

Shoot for the Telugu version of ‘Drishyam 2’ has come to an end. Jeethu Joseph, who directed the original is helming the remake as well. Just a while back, the director took to his social media handle to inform about the completion of shoot.

Mohanlal’s ‘Drishyam 2’, which got released in Amazon Prime earlier this year, had emerged as a huge success. Soon after that, the Telugu remake was announced with Venkatesh as the lead actor. Meena and Esther Anil are reprising their characters from the Malayalam version. Nadiya Moidu is essaying the part played by Asha Sarath. Sampath is supposedly playing the role which Murali Gopy did in Malayalam.

The Telugu version titled ‘Drushyam 2’ is jointly produced by Suresh Privations Pvt Ltd, Rajkumar Theatres Pvt Ltd and Antony Perumbavoor’s Aashirvad Cinemas. While the Malayalam version had a direct OTT release, the Telugu remake is expected to have a grand theatrical release.

‘Drishyam 2’ is also being remade in Kannada. P Vasu is directing the film and V Ravichandran will be playing the lead role. E4 Entertainment is producing the Kannada version.
