Shoot for Suresh Gopi’s ‘Paappan’ is currently progressing at brisk pace. The film directed by veteran Joshiy has Suresh Gopi essaying the lead character named Abraham Mathew Mathan. It is said to be an ex-police officer’s role. The makers have just shared a stylish new video of Suresh Gopi from the film’s sets. His majestic walk, and the uber-cool salt and pepper look instantly grabs attention. It is after a long gap that Suresh Gopi is playing such a stylish character, so fans are eagerly looking forward to the film.

‘Paappan’ is scripted by RJ Shaan, who had earlier co-written ‘C/O Saira Banu’. The makers have confirmed that it is a family-based entertainer with mystery and suspense elements in it. Sunny Wayne, Nyla Usha, Neeta Pillai and Gokul Suresh Gopi are essaying other major roles in it. The supporting cast also includes Kaniha, Vijayaraghavan, Asha Sarath, Chandhunadh, Tini Tom and Shammy Thilakan.

Dhanush’s ‘Karnan’ has turned out to be a massive hit at the box office. The film has grossed around Rs 50 crore from Tamil Nadu theatres alone. It has already emerged as the biggest hit in Dhanush’s career after going past ‘Asuran’. As the film continues to excel in theatres, its making video has been released online. The video shows the efforts put in by the cast and crew during the shoot. One thing that easily grabs attention in the video is the ways in which director Mari Selvaraj can be seen enacting each scene for the actors before the shot.

‘Karnan’ is a rural-based drama that is partly inspired from real life incidents. The film speaks about oppression, custody violence and institutional discrimination. Dhanush plays the titular role in the film. The cast also includes Malayali actress Rajisha Vijayan, Lal, Lakshmipriya Chandramouli, Azhagar Perumal, Natarajan Subramanian, ’96’ fame Gouri Kishan and Yogi Babu among others.

Nivin Pauly-Asif Ali starrer Mahaveeryar wrapped up

We had earlier reported about Nivin Pauly and Asif Ali playing the lead roles in a new film titled ‘Mahaveeryar’. Abrid Shine is directing the film, which had gone on floors last month in Rajasthan. The team has now successfully wrapped up the entire shoot.

Sahitya Akademi Award winning writer M Mukundan has penned the film’s story while the screenplay is written by Abrid Shine. The makers have not still not revealed any details about the genre or storyline. It will be interesting to see Asif Ali and Nivin share screen space after almost a decade. They had last worked together in ‘Sevens’ and ‘Traffic’. The film also stars Lal, Siddique and Shanvi Srivastava.

‘Mahaveeryar’ is Nivin Pauly’s third film with director Abrid Shine. Both their previous films, ‘1983’ and ‘Action Hero Biju’ were commercially successful. The duo will be trying to repeat the success once again. Nivin’s Pauly Jr Pictures is jointly producing ‘Mahaveeryar’ along with Indian Movie Makers.

The makers have shared some new location stills online. Prithviraj looks rough and intense in these photos. He plays a character named Kaduvakunnel Kuruvachan in it.

‘Kaduva’ is a planned as an action-packed mass entertainer. Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi has been signed to play a prominent role in the film. It is his second outing in Malayalam after making his debut with the Prithviraj directorial ‘Lucifer’.

The film has Jakes Bejoy handling the music department and camera cranked by Abinandhan Ramanujam.

Nazriya joins the cast of Nani’s Ante Sundaraniki

As reported by us earlier, Malayali actress Nazriya is making her debut in Telugu cinema. She has signed a musical rom-com that stars Nani as the male lead. Titled as ‘Ante Sundaraniki’, the film is written and directed by Vivek Athreya of ‘Mental Madhilo’ and ‘Brochevarevarura’ fame. Nazriya joined the cast recently in Hyderabad. Her husband Fahadh Faasil also accompanied her as he joined the shoot of ‘Pushpa’, in which he plays the antagonist opposite Fahadh Faasil.

Ever since getting married to Fahadh in 2014, Nazriya has been very choosy with her films. Despite her huge popularity among the South Indian audience, the actress has not signed a Telugu film till now. So it will be very interesting to see what prompted her to take up Vivek Athreya’s film. Her chemistry with Nani will also be something exciting to look forward to.

Naveen Yerneni and Ravi Shankar Y are jointly producing Ante Sundaraniki’, under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers. On the technical front, Vivek Sagar is the music director and Niketh Bommi of ‘Soorarai Pottru’ fame is the cinematographer. Editor Raviteja Girijala, production designer Latha Tharun and sound designer Varun Venugopal are also part of the film’s technical crew.

It is also Jis Joy’s fourth film with Asif Ali after ‘Bicycle Thieves’, ‘Sunday Holiday’ and ‘Vijay Superum Pournamiyum’. The last two films were commercially successful and made the director popular among the masses.

Jis Joy films are usually known to be feel-good entertainers. Since this is the first time he is attempting a thriller, there is an added expectation on the film. Nimisha Sajayan and ‘Bigil’ fame Reba Monica John will be seen as the female leads in it. As per the makers, the film has only very few characters in it. The film got launched last day with a customary switch on ceremony.An official announcement with full details regarding cast and crew members are expected to be made soon. Central Pictures is producing the film.

Prithviraj Sukumaran’s much talked about film ‘Kaduva’ has started rolling. Veteran director Shaji Kailas is making a comeback with this film, which is planned as an action-packed mass entertainer. This is the actor-director duo’s second film together after the forgettable ‘Simhasanam’. Prithviraj Productions and Listin Stephen’s Magic Frames are jointly producing the film.

‘Kaduva’ has an elaborate star cast comprising of several known actors. Bollywood star Vivek Oberoi has been signed to play a crucial role in the film. It must be noted that it was through Prithviraj’s directorial debut ‘Lucifer’ that Oberoi made his maiden outing in Malayalam. His performance as the antagonist in it was widely praised.

It was recently announced that Fahadh Faasil would be playing the villain role in Allu Arjun’s highly anticipated film ‘Pushpa’. Fahadh has now joined the team in Hyderabad. Since this is the first time the two stars are acting together, expectations are huge. This is also Fahadh’s debut outing in Telugu. The makers of ‘Pushpa’ had initially signed Tamil star Vijay Sethupathi to play the antagonist’s role but due to the unexpected Covid-19 crisis and following date issues, he had to opt out of the project.

‘Pushpa’ directed by Sukumar is a mass-action entertainer planned as a pan-Indian release. Allu Arjun has gone through a major makeover for the film as he sports a rugged and local look. ‘Kudukku 2025’ is a futuristic thriller, that is set in a post-pandemic world. According to director Bilahari, the film starts as a regular entertainer and develops into a mystery, action-thriller. He has also produced the film along with lead actor Krisha Sankar and Deepthi Ram.

Debuatnt Abhimanue Viswanath is the cinematographer and Kiran Das is editing the film. Songs are composed by Bhoomee and Manikandan Ayappa while Mujeeb Majeed handles the background score.
