Yaaraiyum Ivlo Azhaga: Simbu sings a lovely romantic number for Karthi’s Sulthan

The second single from Karthi’s new film ‘Sulthan’ got released online last day. The track titled ‘Yaaraiyum Ivlo Azhaga’ is a romantic number sung by actor Simbu. Viveka has penned the lyrics and the song is set to tunes by Vivek-Mervin duo. The video version is expected to feature the lead pair, Karthi and Rashmika Madannda. The latter who is one of the most popular heroines in South Indian cinema today, is making her Tamil debut with this film.

‘Sulthan’ is directed by Bakkiyaraj Kannan of ‘Remo’ fame. The film promises to be a mass entertainer with loads of action in it. As per the makers, it is an action-oriented family drama with a good dose of romance in it.

The film’s cast includes ‘KGF’ fame Garuda Ram, Napoleon, Lal, Hareesh Peradi, Yogi Babu and Mansoor Ali Khan in important roles. On the technical front, ‘Master’ fame Sathyan Sooryan is the cinematographer and Ruben is handling the edits. It is being produced by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu of Dream Warrior Pictures.

Mohanlal and Jeethu Joseph were working on ‘Ram’, a big-budget film, before the pandemic situation worsened. The team had to stall the film’s shoot at the halfway stage as the remaining portions had to be shot abroad, which was not possible then due to the travel restrictions. Mohanlal and Jeethu then decided to go ahead with ‘Drishyam 2’, which has eventually turned out to be a nationwide hit.

Meanwhile, Jeethu has confirmed that ‘Ram’ has not yet been dropped. They are planning to shoot the remaining portions in UK once the pandemic situation gets better. According to him, it is an action-based entertainer film that is made for the big screen. It is a kind of film that deserves to be watched in theatres and they are hoping to finish works soon.

‘Ram’ has Trisha playing the female lead’s role. Bollywood actor Adil Hussain, Indrajith Sukumaran, Durga Krishna of ‘Vimaanam’ fame and Leona Lishoy are also part of the film. Ramesh R Pillai and Sudhan S Pillai are jointly producing it under the banner of Abhishek Films.

The makers of Karthi’s new film ‘Sulthan’ are set to release the second single today. Interestingly, actor Simbu has sung this track, lyrics for which is penned by Viveka. Vivek-Mervin duo is composing the music. Earlier, they had released a fast number titled ‘Jai Sulthan’, sung by Anirudh Ravichander, Junior Nithya and Gana Guna.

Suresh Gopi’s new film ‘Paappan’ with veteran director Joshiy has started rolling today. The film was launched with a customary pooja and switch on ceremony held at St Dominic’s Cathedral in Kanjirappally. Almost all the cast and crew members were present for the launch.

‘Paappan’ is written by RJ Shaan, who had earlier co-scripted ‘C/O Saira Banu’. According to him, it is a family-based film with mystery and suspense elements in it. Suresh Gopi plays a character named Abraham Mathew Mathan in the film. Sunny Wayne, Nyla Usha, Neeta Pillai and Gokul Suresh Gopi are also essaying major roles in it.

Others in the cast include Kaniha, Vijayaraghavan, Asha Sarath, Chandhunadh, Tini Tom and Shammy Thilakan. Cinematographer Ajay David Kachappilly, music director Jakes Bejoy and editor Shyam Sasidharan comprise the core technical team.

As a wedding gift and a token of gratitude for the film’s success, producer Anto Joseph has gifted a brand new Ford Ecosport to the newlyweds.

Earlier, Dulquer had penned a lovely note on his social media handle wishing the couple and expressing his regret on missing out on the big day. He wrote,

The award-winning Tamil film ‘Aruvi’ is all set to be remade in Hindi. Fatima Sana Sheikh, best known for her role in ‘Dangal’, will be reprising the lead character played by Aditi Balan in the original. Directed by Arun Purushothaman, ‘Aruvi’ was a widely acclaimed film that went on to win numerous awards at the regional and international level.

The film portrays the events that occur in the life of a rebellious young woman who seeks to expose the consumerist and misogynistic nature of modern civilisation, while attempting to find meaning during a period of existential crisis. It is an unconventional film that has black comedy, satirical and thrilling elements in it.

Aditi Balan’s stellar performance in the titular role got her widespread appreciation. Fatima Sana Sheikh definitely has a big challenge ahead of her and her performance will be something exciting to look forward to. The Hindi version will be directed by National award winner E Niwas of ‘Shool’ fame and is bankrolled by Applause Entertainment and Faith Films.

Ajagajantharam release postponed

After the postponing of Mammootty’s much-awaited film ‘The Priest’, the makers of ‘Ajagajantharam’ have also pushed the release. They took the decision considering the fact that night shows have not yet been allowed in Kerala, and theatres have still not resumed functioning in many foreign countries.

Though theatres in Kerala reopening in January, box office collections have been very ordinary so far. The existing 50% audience cap and no second show means that footfalls have been very less in theatre across the state. Among Malayalam films, only ‘Operation Java’ managed to make an impact.

Ajagajantharam’ directed by ‘Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil’ fame Tinu Pappachan promises to be an action-packed entertainer.
Antony Varghese reportedly plays the role of a mahout in the film, which is set against the backdrop of a temple festival. Arjun Ashokan, Lukman, Kichu Tellus, Sudhi Koppa and Vineeth Viswam will be seen essaying other major roles. The film is jointly produced by Emmanuel Joseph and Ajith Thalapilly under the banner of Silver Bay Studios.
