Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone to star in Fighter

On the special occasion of his 47th birthday, Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan has announced his next film, ‘Fighter’. Siddharth Anand, with whom he has worked in ‘Bang Bang’ and ‘War’, is directing the film. Deepika Padukone has been signed as the female lead and it marks her first film with Hrithik. An announcement teaser has just been released online.

Sharing the video on Twitter, Hrithik wrote,

“Presenting a glimpse of the MARFLIX vision as #Fighter! Looking forward to my first flight alongside the exceptional @deepikapadukone. All buckled up for this #SiddharthAnand joyride.

Sharing the teaser, Deepika wrote in caption,

“Dreams really do come true… #SiddharthAnand #Marflix #Fighter @iHrithik.”

‘Figther’ is said to be a big-scale action film set around fighter jets. Siddharth Anand and Mamta will be jointly producing the film under the banner of Marflix. As per reports, shoot will begin by the end of this year and it is confirmed to hit screens on September 30, 2022.

Mammootty to start shooting for CBI 5 by May

It is already known that the trio of Mammootty, script writer SN Swamy and director K Madhu are reuniting for the fifth part of the popular CBI franchise. ‘CBI 5’ shoot was supposed to kick-start July last year. However, it had to be postponed due to the Covid-19 situation. The latest we hear is that the team is planning to start shoot this coming May. SN Swamy had recently met Mammootty at his home and discussed about the dates. Photos of the two from their meeting have been shared in social medias.

Mammootty, who has been on a eight-month long break, will begin shooting for Amal Neerad’s new film this month. It is a small-scale project that will be made before the duo team up for the much hyped ‘Bilal’. The star also has two more days of shoot left for the political drama ‘One’. It is expected to be wrapped up by the end of this month itself.

After the completion of Amal Neerad’s film, Mammootty will be working on debutante Ratheena Sharshad’s film. He has also committed for new projects with directors Vysakh, Ranjith, Sathyan Anthikad and Vinod Vijayan.

Aishwarya Lekhsmi to make her Telugu debut with Godse

Malayalam actress Aishwarya Lekshmi is making her Telugu debut with a new film titled ‘Godse’. Gopi Ganesh Pattabhi is directing the film that has Sathyadev as the male lead. The actor-director duo are reuniting after the success of ‘Bluff Master’. ‘Godse’ produced by C Kalyan is said to an action thriller. The film also stars Nassar, Brahmaji, Aditya Menon and Kishore.

Aishwarya Lekshmi is one of the most wanted female lead actors in Malayalam today. She recently completed shooting her portions for ‘Kaanekaane’ and her maiden solo-lead film, ‘Archana 31’ directed by debutant Akhil Anilkumar. She is also playing the main lead in ‘Ranam’ director Nirmal Sahadev’s second film, ‘Kumari’. It is slated to go on floors in March. ‘Bismi Special’, that has her reuniting with her ‘Njandukalude Naatil Oridavela’, co-star Nivin Pauly is her other Malayalam project in kitty.

Aishwarya is currently shooting in Hyderabad for her Mani Ratnam’s ambitious film, ‘Ponniyin Selvan’. The actress also has another Tamil film, ‘Jagame Thandhiram’, coming up. Dhanush plays the lead role in the film which is directed by Karthik Subbaraj.

Watch the teaser of Naga Chaithanya-Sai Pallavi starrer Love Story

The makers of upcoming Telugu film ‘Love Story’ have released the teaser online. The film stars Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi as the leads. Shekar Kammula of ‘Happy Days’ and ‘Fidaa’ fame is directing the film. As one can guess from the title, it is a romantic flick centered around the lives of Revanth and Mounika, played by Chaithanya and Sai Pallavi. In the teaser, we get to see some good chemistry between the two leads.

‘Love Story’ also stars Devayani, Rao Ramesh, Posani Krishna Murali, Satyam Rajesh and Thagubothu Ramesh are part of the much-awaited film. It has cinematography by Vijay C Kumar and music by Pawan CH, who worked as a programmer with AR Rahman in ‘Bigil’ and ‘Dil Bechara’.

‘Love Story’ was originally scheduled for release in 2020 but due to the pandemic, the date had to be postponed. The film is produced by Narayan Das K Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao under the banners of Amigos Creations and Sree Venkateswara Cinemas.

Oru Kudam: Here’s the first single from The Great Indian Kitchen

The first single from the upcoming Malayalam film ‘The Great Indian Kitchen’ has been released online. It has Suraj Venjaramoodu and Nimisha Sajayan in the lead roles. The song titled ‘Oru Kudam’ is composed and programmed by Mathews Pulickan. Haritha Balakrishnan and Sulekha Kapadan have sung the track and lyrics is penned by Mrudula Devi S.

‘The Great Indian Kitchen’ is written and directed by Jeo Baby of ‘2 Penkuttikal’ and ‘Kilometers and Kilometers’ fame. Suraj Venjaramoodu and Nimisha Sajayan play a married couple in the film. Its was highly promising and looked like a family drama centred around the newlyweds. The film has Salu K Thomas as the cinematographer and Francis Louis as the editor. Sooraj S Kurup is handling the music department along with Mathews Pulickan.

As informed earlier, ‘The Great Indian Kitchen’ is getting a direct OTT release. The film will be having its world premiere in Nee Stream, a newly launched streaming platform. Release date has not yet been announced.

After months of waiting, ‘Master’ is finally set for theatrical release on January 13. Theatre bookings have opened in Tamil Nadu and with only 50% occupancy allowed, shows are going housefull within minutes. The film has such high expectations. Meanwhile, the makers continue to release the promo videos. Last day, a 10 second video featuring Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi was released.

One of the biggest reasons to wait for ‘Master’ is the fact that Vijay and Vijay Sethupathi are coming together for the first time. It is the face-off between the two stars that is eagerly awaited by many. While Vijay plays a college professor named John Durairaj in ‘Master’, Vijay Sethupathi essays the role of a gangster named Bhavani. The makers have assured that both characters have equal screen space in the film.

‘Master’ also stars Andrea Jeremiah, Malavika Mohanan, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj, Arjun Das and Gouri Kishan. Xavier Britto is producing the film under the banner of XB Pictures.

Kadathal Kaaran directed by Malayali filmmaker S Kumar emerges a superhit at the Tamil Nadu box office

‘Kadathal Kaaran’ directed by Malayali filmmaker S Kumar aka Sunil Kumar has emerged successful at the box office. After the pandemic when theatres resumed functioning, the film was released in over 100 screens across the State and is now into its fourth week of successful run. Upon its release, the film got appreciated by many critics and film personalities including legendary director Bharathiraja.

S Kumar himself has scripted the film, which is set in the backdrop of the infamous ‘Thiruttu Gramam’ (Villages of thieves). The narrative begins with a young woman, who tries to elope with her boyfriend, accidentally boards a vehicle with gold smugglers. The film was shot in Idukki, Theni, Cumbum, Chennai and a village called Karuvakulam.

Lead actors in ‘Kadathal Kaaran’ are all Malayalis. Wayanad native Kevin plays the main role. He appears in multiple looks including a feminine avatar. ‘Chalakkudikkaran Changathi’ fame Renu Soundar plays the female lead. Several newcomers are also part of the cast. The film is produced under the banner of F3 Films.

The makers of Mammootty’s upcoming film ‘The Priest’ have released a new poster. Just like the earlier ones, this one also has the superstar in a stylish bearded, spectacled look. Written and directed by debutant Jofin T Chacko, the film is said to be a mystery thriller.

‘The Priest’ has a huge star cast. The film marks Manju Warrier and Mammootty’s first outing together. Nikhila Vimal, Jagadheesh, Ramesh Pisharody, Ameya Mathew, Baby Monica of ‘Kaithi’ fame, ‘Nayika Nayakan’ fame Venkitesh and Tony Luke will be seen in other supporting roles.

Kalidas Jayaram had a great 2020 with three back-to-back OTT releases. He starred in Sudha Kongara’s film ‘Ilamai Idho Idho’ in the Amazon Prime anthology, ‘Putham Pudhu Kaalai’. As announced earlier, the teaser of Vikram’s new film ‘Cobra’ has been released online. It has some stunning visuals and looks grand in every aspect. Maestro AR Rahman has composed the music. It is learnt that the teaser will be attached with theatre prints of Vijay’s upcoming film ‘Master’. It must be noted that the worldwide distribution rights of ‘Master’ is acquired by Lalit Kumar of Seven Screen Studios, who is also the producer of ‘Cobra’.

‘Cobra’ is written and directed by Ajay Gnanamuthu of ‘Imaikka Nodigal’ fame. It is a big-budget thriller shot across multiple countries. Vikram will be appearing in multiple looks in the film. Former Indian cricketer Irfan Pathan is also making his acting debut with this film. He essays the role of French Interpol officer Aslan Yilmaz.

‘KGF’ fame Srinidhi Shetty plays the female lead. The film has an elaborate star cast comprising of actors from various languages. KS Ravikumar, Roshan Mathew, Miya George, Mammukoya, Sarjano Khalid, Mirnalini Ravi and many others are part of the film.
