Bibin George and Anna Reshma Rajan team up for Thirimali; Check out the title motion teaser

Bibin George’s new film ‘Thirimali’ has just been formally announced. The makers have released a title motion teaser online. Dharmajan Bolgatty and Johny Antony will also be seen in major roles in the film. It is directed by debutant Rajiv Shetty, a former associate of Rafi-Mecartin.

As the title suggests, ‘Thirimali’ has been planned as a complete comedy entertainer. Salim Kumar, Innocent and Harish Kanaran are also part of the cast. ‘Angamaly Diaries’ fame Anna Reshma will be seen as the female lead. Director Rajiv Shetty has scripted the film along with Xavier Alex. The makers are planning to start the first schedule in Nepal.

The film’s technical crew comprises of cinematographer Vinod Illampally, music director Bijibal, editor Jith and art director Akhil Raj.
SK Lawrence is producing the film under the banner of Angel Maria Cinemas. The banner last produced the hit Kunchacko Boban starrer ‘Shikkari Shambu’.

Trailer of Nayanthara’s Mookuthi Amman released

As informed earlier, the trailer of Nayanthara starrer ‘Mookuthi Amman’ has been released online. The film written and directing by RJ Balaji and NJ Saravanan looks like a satire on religious fanaticism. Last year, RJ Balaji wrote and starred in ‘LKG’, which was a satire on the current political scenario in the country. The film was well received and emerged as a box office hit. The makers will be hoping to repeat the same with ‘Mookuthi Amman’.

In the trailer, Nayanthara appears in a divine avatar. The film seems to have a relevant message about how political parties are indulging in all sorts of wrongdoings in the name of religion. We can also seee that demigod devotion is also being mocked in the film.

RJ Balajo, Urvashi, ‘Visaranai’ fame Ajay Ghosh and Moulee will be seen in major roles. Dinesh Krishnan is the DOP and music department is handled by Girishh. Dr Isari K Ganesh of Vels International is producing the film. It is scheduled for release on Disney + Hotstar on November 14.

Parvathy and Sharafudheen are set to act together for the first time as a pair. The two will be seen as a married couple in cinematographer Sanu John Varughese’s directorial debut. The film’s story is set during the pandemic phase. It is about a couple who travel from Mumbai to Kerala just before the nationwide lockdown is announced.

Along with the Parvathy and Sharafudheen, Biju Menon will be seen in another lead role in the film. Saiju Kurup and Arya Salim are also essaying crucial roles. The team has already started shooting. On the technical front, filmmaker Mahesh Narayanan has been assigned as the editor. Srinivas R Gutha is the cinematographer and music department will be handled by Neha Nair- Yakzan Gary Pereira duo. The film is being produced by Aashiq Abu’s OPM Dream Mill and Santhosh T Kuruvilla’s Moonshot Entertainment.

Sanu John Varughese was the DOP of several popular non-Malayalam films like ‘Jersey’, ‘Karthik Calling Karthik’, ‘Wazir’ and the ‘Vishwaroopam’ series. In Malayalam, he has worked in ‘Take Off’, ‘Android Kunjappan’ and ‘Malik’. With such vast experience as a cinematographer, cinephiles are eagerly looking forward to see what Sanu has to offer as a director.

Confirmed: Soorarai Pottru trailer to be released tomorrow

Suriya has confirmed that the trailer of his highly anticipated film ‘Soorarai Pottru’ will be out tomorrow (October 26) on the auspicious occasion of Vijayadasami. The film was originally scheduled for release on Amazon Prime Video on October 30. But due to delay in obtaining no objection certificates (NOC) from the Indian Airforce, the release has been pushed. Strong buzz is that the film will be out on Diwali day.

‘Soorarai Pottru’ directed by ‘Irudhi Suttru’ fame Sudha Kongara is inspired from the life of GR Gopinath, the founder of Air Deccan. In the film, Suriya essays a character named Nedumaaran Rajangam Maara, a common man hailing from Madurai who dreams of owning an aircraft business. Malayali actress Aparna Balamurali’s plays his wife’s part. Paresh Rawal, Urvashi, Karunas, Vivek Prasanna, Kaali Venkat and Mohan Babu will be seen in other major roles.

Official word regarding the release date is expected to be made tomorrow along with the trailer.

Naradhan: Tovino Thomas and Anna Ben in Aashiq Abu’s next

Aashiq Abu has announced that his next film will have Tovino Thomas and Anna Ben in the leads. Titled as ‘Naradhan’, it is scripted by Unni R. The film’s title poster has been shared by the director in his official social media handle. Santhosh T Kuruvila, Aashiq Abu and Rima Kallingal are jointly producing the film.

‘Naradhan’ will have cinematography by Jaffer Zadique. Saiju Sreedharan, a frequent collaborator with Aashiq Abu, is the editor and music department will be handled by ‘Da Thadiya’ actor Sekhar Menon. Art director Gokul Das, costume designer Mashar Hamza and make up artist Ronex Xavier are also part of the technical team. The film is planned as an April 2021 release.

Aashiq Abu meanwhile has also committed for a few other projects. He was supposed to direct a fantasy film starring Soubin Shahir and Rima Kallingal but the project seems to have been delayed due to the pandemic. The much-talked about Vaariyamkunnan Haji biopic with Prithviraj is also in the pipeline.

Aashiq is also turning a DOP for a new film titled ‘Haagar’. Harshad, the scriptwriter of ‘Unda’, is making his directorial debut with this film. Rima and Sharafudheen will be seen in the lead roles. Aashiq is also one of the producers of Sanu John Varughese’s directorial debut starring Parvathy and Biju Menon.

Karthik Subbaraj produces new web series; Triples teaser looks fun!

Popular Tamil filmmaker Karthik Subbaraj is producing a new Tamil web series titled ‘Triples’. His banner Stone Bench Productions is backing the show and it will be released on Disney + Hotstar. Charukesh is directing the series. It has Jai Sampath, ‘Oh My Kadavule’ fame Vani Bhojan, Rajkumar and Vivek Prasanna in the lead roles. From the teaser, it looks like a fun filled series.

Lead actor Jai has promised that the ‘Triples’ will have a lot of hilarious moments, similar to those in Kamal Haasan’s iconic film ‘Michael Madana Kama Rajan’. Karthik Subbaraj believes that ‘Triples’ will be a perfect show to launch on Disney+ Hotstar as it has all the elements of a commercial entertainer – action, drama, comedy and more.

Apart from ‘Triples’, Hotstar has some other Tamil web series lined up. ‘November Story’ starring Tamannaah and GM Kumar is a crime-thriller series. Indira Subramaniyam has written and directed the show. ‘My Perfect Husband’ with Sathyaraj, Seetha, Rakshan and Aajeedh promises to be another lighthearted series. It is directed by Thamira. Venkat Prabhu is helming a horror series titled ‘Live Telecast’. It has Kajal Aggarwal, Vaibhav and ‘Kayal’ fame Anandhi in major roles.

November Story: Tamannaah starrer web series looks thrilling

Tamannaah Bhatia is making her digitial debut with a Tamil web series titled ‘November Story’. It is a crime thriller series scheduled to premiere in Disney + Hotstar on Deepavali day. Indira Subramaniyam has written and directed the show. It is produced by Ananta Vikatan Group.

Last day, the makers had released a 1-minute long teaser in YouTube. It is an intriguing teaser that has a father and daughter relationship at its core. Tamannaah plays a character named Anuradha Ganesan and GM Kumar of ‘Avan Ivan’ fame plays her father’s role. The latter’s character is one of India’s famous murder mystery novel writers. The story is centered around a mysterious murder that happens insider their house. How Anurdha solves the mystery and what happens to her father seems to be the suspense elements in the show. Pasupathi, Vivek Prasanna and many others are part of the cast.

Tamannaah has pinned high hopes on ‘November Story’. She firmly believes that it will be one of her best works till date.

The trailer of Keerthy Suresh starrer ‘Miss India’ has just been released online. She plays a character named Samyukta, who dreams of setting up her own business. She has to cross various hurdles, both in the personal and professional space, to achieve her dream. The trailer gives a clear picture of the film and Keerthy Suresh fits in perfectly as the lead character.

‘Miss India’ is written and directed by Narendra Nath. Jagapathi Babu essays a grey-shaded role of a rival businessman. Rajendra Prasad, Naveen Chandra, Kamal Kamaraju, Naresh, Nadhiyaand Pujita Ponnada are also part of the cast.

Dani Sanchez-Lopez and Malayali cinematographer Sujith Vaassudev are the DOPs while S. Thaman has composed the music. The film has been produced by Mahesh S Koneru under East Coast Productions. It was originally planned to be released on 17 April 2020 but has been postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The makers have now announced that the film will be out on November 4 on Netflix.

Director Venkat Prabhu, best known for his films like ‘Mankatha’ and ‘Chennai 600028’, is making a Tamil web series with Kajal Aggarwal in the lead. Titled as ‘Live Telecast’, it is a horror series that will soon be streaming in Disney + Hotstar. It is a horror series that also has Vaibhav and ‘Kayal’ fame Anandhi in major roles.

As per reports, Venkat Prabhu had originally planned to make ‘Live Telecast’ as a feature film, but later opted to make it in a series form as the subject demanded a longer run time. Reportedly, the series will have 10 episodes. An official word regarding the release date is expected to be out soon.

Much to the disappointment of fans, it was recently announced that ‘Soorarai Pottru’ will not be premiering on Amazon Prime Video on the originally scheduled release date of October 30. Since the film is set in the aviation industry, the makers had to obtain all the required no objection certificates (NOC) from the Indian Airforce. The process got delayed which lead to the change in release plans.

Last day, Rajasekhara Pandian, one of the film’s producers, informed that the NOCs have been obtained and that they will be announcing the release date soon. Strong buzz is that the film will be out on Diwali day. Prior to that, the makers will be sharing the trailer online.
