Telugu film star Rana Daggubati has tied the knot with his longtime girlfriend Miheeka Bajaj. The wedding held in Hyderabad was a very private ceremony with only selected invitees. The event was held as per the safety protocols to comply with COVID-19 social distancing guidelines.

Photos from the ceremony have been shared in social medias. Rana looked dashing in a white dhoti-kurta set, Miheeka appeared gorgeous in a red and white ensemble. Some big names from the Telugu film industry attended the wedding. Venkatesh Daggubati, Samantha Ruth Prabhu, Allu Arjun and Ram Charan were some of them. Many others who could not make it to the wedding have wished the couple through social medias.

Rana’s and Miheeka had been dating for the last few years. Miheeka, born and raised in Hyderabad, owns an interior design and decor business, Dew Drop Design Studio. She got her Masters degree in Interior Design from Chelsea University. She is also close friends with Bollywood star Sonam Kapoor and family.

Abhishek Bachchan tests negative for Covid-19

The news about superstar Amitabh Bachchan’s family getting infected with the novel Corona virus was received with much shock by people across the country. Amitabh Bachchan and Abhishek were the first to test positive followed by Aishwarya Rai and daughter Aaradhya. Except for Abhishek, all the others were tested negative a few days back. Now he is also free from the virus and has left the hospital. Abhishek took to his social media handle to share the news with his followers, who have been constantly supporting him. He also expressed his gratitude to the the doctors and nursing staff for taking good care of him and his family.

Still many of his fans and colleagues have taken the time to wish the star. Dulquer Salmaan, who has known Fahadh from his childhood, has shared a lovely little note on his social media handle. It reads,

Happiest birthday Shanu ! For some reason none of us seem to take pics together when we hang out. It’s been an amazing journey for us from being friends as kids and through college and to now being actors in the same industry we looked upto. Both Fahadh and Dulquer are currently in a good phase in their career. They both have interesting projects lined up to be shot after Covid-19 crisis ends. Fahadh is expected to start shooting for ‘Thankam’, which will be directed by Saheed Arafat of ‘Theeram’ fame. Syam Pushkaran is scripting the film that also stars Dileesh Pothan and Joju George in major roles.

Dulquer meanwhile will resume his works with the Tamil film ‘Hey Sinamika’, directed by Brinda. He also has a cop film with Rosshan Andrrews and a trilingual period-love story coming up.

Sara Arjun, noted for her roles in Tamil films like ‘Deiva Thirumagal’, ‘Saivam’ and ‘Sillu Karuppatti’ has revealed that she’s a part of Mani Ratnam’s upcoming biggie ‘Ponniyin Selvan’. Reportedly, the teenager will be seen playing the younger version of Aishwarya Rai’s character Nandini.

‘Ponniyin Selvan’ is a highly ambitious with several stars from various languages as part of its cast. Vikram, Trisha, Vikram Prabhu, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Sarath Kumar, Prabhu, Kishore, Jayaram, Rahman, Lal, Ashwin Kakumanu and many others are already confirmed in the film.

The film is originally based on a historical Tamil novel written by Kalki Krishnamurthy. It tells the story of early days of Arulmozhivarman, who later became the great Chola emperor Raja Raja Chola I. Shoot is currently put on hold due to the Covid-19 crisis. Mani Ratnam’s own banner Madras Talkies and Lyca Productions are collaborating for this mega budget film’s production.

Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil is celebrating his birthday today. Social media celebrations are largely subdued due to the grief that the state of Kerala is currently enduring following the floods and airplane crash. Still many of his fans and colleagues have taken the time to wish the star. Actor Prithviraj Sukumaran wished Fahadh by sharing a photo taken with him. Their better halves Nazriya and Supriya are also seen in the photo.

Fahadh Faasil is among the most celebrated actors of the country today in terms of the sheer quality of work. Thanks to the success of his recently released films, he enjoys a big fan following among the non-Malayali cinephiles. Offers are also pouring in from various industries including Bollywood but Fahadh has been very choosy as he prefers to work in Malayalam, mainly because of the langauge issue.

Kamal Haasan, Shankar and Lyca Productions pay Rs 4 crore to the families of Indian 2 accident victims!

Earlier in February this year, a terrible accident at the shooting location of Tamil film ‘Indian 2’ took the lives of 3 crew members. The incident sent shock waves to film industries across the country and there were widespread discussions about safety precautions at film sets. The film’s core members — lead actor Kamal Haasan, director Shankar and production house Lyca — have paid a compensation to the families of the deceased.

Kamal Haasan, Shankar and representatives of Lyca handed over the cheque of Rs 4 crore to the families. The kin of Krishna (assistant director, 34), Chandran (art assistant, 60) and Madhu (production assistant, 29), who died in the mishap, received cheques of Rs 1 crore each. The lightman who suffered serious injuries was given Rs 90 lakh as compensation. Rs 10 lakh was allocated to help those who sustained minor injuries in the accident.

The accident occurred at Chennai’s EVP Film City when a huge crane carrying light equipment’s came crashing down suddenly. Reportedly, the rope that was used to hold up the light set-up gave way. Weighing hundreds of tons, the crane instantly crushed 3 people to death. Director Shankar and lead actors Kamal Haasan and Kajal Aggarwal were present on the sets and had a very narrow escape. Shoot for the film has been put on held ever since then.

Mammootty’s ‘One’ was among the most anticipated films of the year. It was supposed to release in April during the Vishu season but due to the pandemic, there is certainty regarding the release. Meanwhile it is reported that Netflix has bagged the film’s streaming rights. However, it is heard that it will not a direct OTT release. An official word is still awaited. Notably, the makers have not yet completed the shoot. An important sequence involving Mammootty and a huge crowd still remains to be shot.

‘Chirakodinja Kinavukal’ Santhosh Viswanath is directing ‘One’ that has Mammootty essaying the lead role of Kerala Chief Minister Kadakkal Chandran. Bobby and Sanjay have scripted the film. The fact Mammootty he is doing a full-fledged political film after a very long gap in Malayalam and add to that, his first time collaboration with Bobby-Sanjay duo had heightened the expectations.

‘One’ is a big-scale film with a huge supporting cast. Joju George, Murali Gopy, Nimisha Sajayan, Sudev Nair, Suresh Krishna, Shanker Ramakrishnan, Alencier Ley, Mammukoya, Siddique, Balachandra Menon, Salim Kumar, Madhu, Ranjith, Mathew Thomas, Ishaani Krishna, Gayathri Arun, Jayan Cherthala, Balaji Sharma and many others are part of the film.

‘Lootcase’ got released on 31 July 2020 on Disney+ Hotstar and has opened to highly positive response. Apart from Ratheesh, another Malayali technician is also part of the film. Sanu John Varghese has cranked the camera. It is worth a mention that Sanu was the DOP in Ratheesh’s directorial debut in ‘Android Kunjappan’.

Class of ’83 trailer: Bobby Deol looks intense in this promising film!

The official trailer of upcoming Hindi film ‘Class of ’83’ has just been released online. Starring Bobby Deol in the lead, it is a cop-action film set in Bombay of the 1980s. Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment is producing the film and it is directed by Atul Sabharwal. As announced earlier, the film will be premiering in Netflix on August 21.

‘Class of ’83’ is said to be inspired from real events. From the trailer, we can see that Bobby Deol plays the role of a former policeman who has been reassigned as an instructor at a police academy. His character puts together a covert task force that is trained in pulling off encounter killings.

Bobby Deol looks intense as the strict instructor, Dean Vijay Singh. The film marks his comeback as a lead actor after a long gap. It is also his digital debut and the actor is highly excited about it.
