Three heroines in Dulquer Salmaan’s maiden production

Dulquer Salmaan’s maiden production was launched only recently. The actor is introducing a bunch of newcomers to the industry. The movie is being directed by debutant Shamsu Zayba. Jacob Gregory is playing the lead role. As per latest reports, the movie has three female leads in Anupama Parameswaran, Nikhila Vimal and Anu Sithara. The former two have previously collaborated with Dulquer in ‘Jomonte Suvisheshangal’ and ‘Oru Yamandan Premakadha’ respectively.

This is Jacob Gregory’s debut film as a lead actor. Dulquer and Gregory are great friends in real-life and have also acted together in films like ‘ABCD’, ‘100 Days of Love’, ‘Jomonte Suvisheshangal’ and ‘Parava’. There is a buzz about Dulquer appearing in a cameo role in this upcoming movie, but the makers are yet to confirm it.

Shoot for this yet-to-be titled movie is currently progressing in Aluva. The movie has camera cranked by Sajad Kakku and music is by Sreehari K Nair. More details about the movie are expected to be revealed during the official title launch of Dulquer’s production house.

Mammootty’s highly anticipated cop flick ‘Unda’ is getting ready to hit screens this Eid. The movie directed by ‘Anuraga Karikkin Vellam’ fame Khalidh Rahman is said to be an action-comedy thriller. Mammootty plays the role of a police sub-inspector named Manikandan CP. He heads an eight-member team of police constables. The movie’s story revolves around a set of events that occur when this unit of policemen from Kerala reach the Maosit areas in Chhattisgarh for election duty.

‘Unda’ is a highly promising film as it has a very interesting storyline and some great talents in the crew. Music director Prashanth Pillai, well known for his work in films like ‘Amen’, ‘Angamaly Diaries’ and ‘Ee Maa Yau’, is composing the tracks in ‘Unda’. In a recent Twitter post, he has said that the movie has one of Mammootty’s best ever performances.

As per our sources within the industry, ‘Unda’ is an out and out realistic film without any commercial gimmicks. The posters released so far also suggest the same. Director Khalid Rahman has penned the story and screenplay is by Harshad. Krishnan Sethukumarr is producing the film under the banner of Movie Mill in association with Gemini Studios.

20 more days of shoot left for Love Action Drama

Dhyan Sreenivasan’s directorial debut ‘Love Action Drama’ (LAD) has been on the floor for nearly a year now. The movie starring Nivin Pauly and Nayanthara is currently in the final stages of shoot. The makers have already shot for around 80 days and 20 more days of shoot is still left for wrap up. The movie scheduled for release in September during the Onam season.

‘Love Action Drama’ scripted by Dhyan is shaping up as a proper rom-com. It is apparently a modern day take on the yesteryear hit film ‘Vadakkunokkiyanthram’, directed by his father Sreenivasan. As a shout-out to that film, the lead characters in ‘LAD’ are also named as Dineshan and Shobha. Aju Varghese, Dhanya Balakrishnan, Vismaya and Durga Krishna are also part of the supporting cast.

‘Love Action Drama’ has cinematography by Jomon T John and music is by Shaan Rahman. Aju Varghese is venturing into production by funding this movie jointly with Vishak Subramaniam under the banner of Funtastic Films.

Arjun Reddy remake: Here’s the trailer of Kabir Singh

The trailer of Shahid Kapoor starrer ‘Kabir Khan’ got released just a while back in social medias. The movie which is the official remake of the 2017 Telugu hit, ‘Arjun Reddy’, is helmed by Sandeep Reddy Venga, who helmed the original as well. Kiara Advani plays the female lead.

‘Arjun Reddy’ had Vijay Deverakonda and Shalini Pandey in the lead roles. It is the story of an impulsive medical surgeon who falls madly in love with his college junior. He becomes alcoholic post break-up and the rest of the plot is about how he redeems himself. The original was a sensational blockbuster.

From the trailer, Shahid Kapoor looks extremely convincing as the hot-headed surgeon. It seems like director Sandeep Reddy has attempted a better version this time as the promos so far have been highly impressive. Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, Ashwin Varde and Murad Khetani have jointly produced the movie. It s scheduled to hit screens on June 21.

Jayasurya’s next titled Thisssur Pooram; Here’s the first look

Jayasurya is reuniting with Vijay Babu’s Friday Film House for a new movie titled ‘Thrissur Pooram’. Its official announcement was made just a while back through social medias. Debutant Rajesh Mohanan is directing the movie and it is scripted by composer Ratheesh Vega. The latter will also be handling the music department. Cinematography is by Prakash Velayudhan and edits will be handled by Deepu Joseph. The movie is expected to go on floors shortly as they have scheduled it for release in October.

Jayasurya has previously collaborated with Friday Film House in ‘Philps and the Monkey Pen’ and the superhit ‘Aadu’ series. He was also supposed to star in the same banner’s ‘Turbo Peter’, but the project got shelved due to some unknown reasons. ‘Aadu’ fame Midhun Manuel Thomas was supposed to direct that film.

Jayasurya is currently shooting for ‘Lilli’ fame Prasobh Vijayan’s new film. E4 Entertainment is producing the movie, which is yet to be titled. He also has Prajesh Sen’s ‘Vellam’ coming up. The actor will be playing the role of a drunkard in the film

As informed earlier, the first single from director Shafi’s new film ‘Children’s Park’ has been released online. Actor Dileep shared the song through his official social media handle. ‘Children’s Park’ has Sharafudheen, Vishnu Unnikrishnan and ‘Queen’ fame Druvan in the lead roles. The movie also has three heroines in Manasa Radhakrishnan, Gayathri Suresh and Soumya Menon.

The movie’s recently released trailer gave hints of an out and out fun entertainer with some action and thrills. Its supporting cast includes veteran Madhu, Hareesh Kanaran, Raffi, Dharmajan Bolgatty, Sreejith Ravi, Shivaji Guruvayoor, Nobi and Basil. On the technical front, Faisal Ali is the cinematographer and V Saajan is handling the edits.

‘Children’s Park’, marks director Shafi’s reunion brother Raffi. They last teamed up for the blockbuster success of ‘Two Countries’. The duo will be hoping to repeat the success with ‘Children’s Park’ as well. Roopesh Omana and Milan Jaleel are jointly producing the movie under the banner of Cochin Films.

Dileep’s brother Anoop all set to make his directorial debut

Actor Dileep’s brother Anoop is set to wear the director’s hat. Santhosh Echikkanam is scripting the movie, which will be produced by Dileep’s own banner, Graand Productions. It is also learnt that the movie will have a bunch of newcomers in the lead roles. The makers had recently released a casting call looking for feamle actors between the age group of 18-22 and male actors between 24-27. Both male and female candidates between 35-55 can also send in their profile to castcallgraand65@gmail.com.

It is said that Anoop’s directorial debut is based on one of Santhosh Echikkanam’s famous short stories. Echikkanam has earlier scripted films like ‘Njan Steve Lopez’, ‘Annayum Rasoolum’, ‘Chandrettan Evideya’ and ‘Nidra’. Though the lead actors are newcomers, Dileep’s presence in the production side will certainly heighten the expectations.

Almost a decade back, Dileep had produced ‘Malarvadi Arts Club’ which marked the debut of several youngsters like Nivin Pauly, Aju Varghese, Vineeth Sreenivasan (as director) and composer Shaan Rahman (songs and background score), who all went on to carve a niche for themselves in the industry.

Anjali Menon is all praise for Uyare team

Parvathy starrer ‘Uyare’ continues to get appreciation. Ever since its release on April 26, the movie has been garnering unanimously positive response from all corners. Directed by Manu Ashokan and scripted by Bobby-Sanjay, ‘Uyare’ tells the inspiring story of an acid attack survivor.

Besides critics and common audience, even celebrities like Sathyan Anthikad, Madhupal, Jude Anthany Joseph, Arun Gopy, Sithara Krishnakumar, Rosshan Andrrews and politicians VM Sudheeran and KK Shailaja had praised the movie. Latest to congratulate team ‘Uyare’ is director Anjali Menon. Her Facebook post reads,

Courage is a beautiful thing. That is what sets apart Uyare Movie. Courage to write such a story , to debut as director with such a film, to debut as producers with such a film and of course to embody Pallavi Raveendran as only Parvathy TK can. Kudos to the whole Uyare team for making this movie and infecting audience with this courage. We need more of this from you!

‘Uyare’ has Parvathy in the lead role of a pilot aspirant who later becomes an acid attack survivor. Asif Ali, Tovino Thomas, Siddique and Anarkali Marakkar are also there in key roles. Shenuga, Shegna and Sherga of S Cube Films have produced the movie.
