Jeevithamenn Parayunnoru Naadakam: Here’s a new song from Ottakkoru Kaamukan

‘Ottakkoru Kaamukan’, a romantic entertainer, had hit screens last Friday (November 23). The movie opened to average reviews from the critics. A new song from the movie has been released today in social medias. The song titled ‘Jeevithamenn Parayunnoru Naadakam’ is composed by Vishnu Mohan Sithara. Cressent has penned the lyrics and rendered the song.

‘Ottakkoru Kaamukan’ is directed by newcomers Ajinlal and Jayan Vannery. It is scripted by SK Sudheesh and Sreesh Kumar S. The movie has an elaborate supporting cast comprising of Joju George, Abhirami, Shine Tom Chacko, Bhagath Manuel, Vijayaraghavan, Lijomol Jose, Shalu Rahim, Dain Davis, Kalabhavan Shajon, Balachandran Chullikkadu, Chembil Ashokan, Shaheen Sidhique, Sreejith Kottarakkara, Arundhathi Nair, Nimmi Emmanuel and Meera Nair.

The movie’s technical crew comprises of DOP Sanjay Harris and editor Sanal Raj. Vishnu Mohan Sithara is handling the music department. Prince Glariyans, Sajan Yesodharan and Anoop Chandran are jointly producing the movie under the banner of Dazzling Movie Land productions. Eros International is distributing the movie.

Confirmed: Ajith’s next is the remake of ‘Pink’

As we already know, actor Ajith’s next (Thala 59) after the ongoing ‘Viswasam’ will be directed by H Vinoth. Bollywood producer Boney Kapoor, husband of late actress Sridevi, will be making his K-Town debut by funding this movie. For a while now there have been speculations about the movie being the remake of acclaimed Hindi film ‘Pink’. It has finally been confirmed by director Shoojit Sircar, who was part of the original film as a creative director.

‘Pink’ directed by Aniruddha Roy Chowdhury was a social-drama that had Amitabh Bachchan, Taapsee Pannu, Kirti Kulhari and Andrea Tariang in major roles. The movie discusses some sensitive issues about women’s rights and dignity. It won widespread critical acclaim and bagged the National film award for best film on other social issues.

Pink’s Tamil version will not be a scene by scene remake. The makers will be adapting it to suit the sensibilities of the audience. Ajith will be reprising the brooding lawyer’s role played by Amitabh Bachchan in the original. The original film doesn’t have any scope for commercial elements, so it remains to be see how the remake will be adapted to make it appealing to Ajith’s fans.

Reports suggest that the movie will start rolling by the third week of December. The makers are in talks with maestro AR Rahman, but an official word has not yet been made. Meanwhile, ‘Viswasam’, directed by Siva, is gearing up for Pongal release.

Kanaa: Here’s the trailer of Sivakarthikeyan’s maiden production venture

Actor Sivakarthikeyan is venturing to production with ‘Kanaa’, a movie based on woman’s cricket. Aishwarya Rajesh plays the lead in the movie. The multi-talented Arunraja Kamaraj, a close friend of Sivakarthikeyan, is making his directorial debut with this movie. Its official trailer was released today in social medias. The trailer gives glimpses of an inspiring journey of an underdog.

Aishwarya Rajesh had put in months of efforts to train for the cricketer’s role. She is well known for her performance in movies like Kaaka Muttai, Vada Chennai and Chekka Chivantha Vaanam. Kanaa stars veteran Sathyaraj, Darshan, Ilavarasu, Munishkanth Ramadoss, Rama, Savari Muthu and Antony Bhagyaraj in supporting roles. Sivakarthikeyan also appears in a crucial cameo role. The movie has music composed by debutant Dhibu Ninan Thomas and cinematography by Dinesh Krishnan. Ruben is handling the edits.

Kanaa is scheduled to hit screens next month, though a confirmed release date has not yet been announced.

Last day, the motion poster of Parvathy’s upcoming movie ‘Uyare’ was released last day in social medias. In the motion poster we can hear audio from a flight’s cockpit. It is an intriguing poster and gives hints of Parvathy playing an aircraft staff. Along with her, the movie also has young stars Tovino Thomas and Asif Ali in major roles.

‘Uyare’ marks the directorial debut of Manu Ashokan, who was a former associate of late Rajesh Pillai. Bobby-Sanjay duo is scripting the movie, which is being funded by a newly launched production house, S Cube Films. Parvathy plays an acid attack victim in the movie. Hers is the central character and she will be undergoing a new makeover for the movie. She had recently visited the Sheroes cafe in Agra to learn more about the lives of acid attack victims. The cafe is run by a group of women who survived acid attacks.

Uyare’s supporting cast includes Renji Panicker, Prem Prakash and Prathap Pothen. Its technical crew comprises of cinematographer Mukesh Muraleedharan, editor Mahesh Narayanan and music director Gopi Sunder. The makers have also hired a separate makeup team to design Parvathy’s look in the movie.

As we had reported earlier, Asif Ali and Aishwarya Lekshmi are teaming up for a romantic entertainer titled ‘Vijay Superum Pournamiyum’. Trailer of the movie was released today in social medias. The trailer gives hints of a feel good fun entertainer. The movie directed by Jis Joy is gearing up to hit screens early next year.

This is Asif Ali’s third outing with director Jis Joy after teaming up with him in ‘Bicycles Thieves’ and ‘Sunday Holiday’. The director himself has scripted the movie with prominence to humour, friendship, romance and family sentiments. According to the him, ‘Vijay Superum Pournamiyum’, unlike his earlier films, will be a socially relevant one with a good message in it.

‘Vijay Superum Pournamiyum’ has a big supporting cast in Aju Varghese, Balu Varghese, Dharshana Rajendran, Joseph Annamukutty Jose, Siddique, Renji Panicker, Shanthi Krishna, KPAC Lalitha and Maya Menon in the supporting cast.
The movie’s technical crew includes DOP Renadive of ‘CIA’ fame, editor Ratheesh Raj and debutant music director Prince George. AK Sunil is producing it under the banner of New Surya Films.

Hardly a week after meeting with an accident, Shrikumar Menon returns back to work!

Earlier this week, director Shrikumar Menon had met with an accident while walking down the escalator in Mumbai airport. He suffered injuries to his jaw bone and was admitted to a leading hospital in Bangalore. His unfortunate accident was expected to be a jolt for the post-production works of ‘Odiyan’ but within fine days, the determined director has returned back to work. Taking to his official Facebook page, Menon has written about his recovery and thanked all those who wished him. His post reads,

After an unfortunate fall from an escalator in Mumbai airport, I am just back to my routine and am so humbled and overwhelmed by the number of messages and prayers that have been coming my way. The fall which gave me multiple jaw and chin injuries and fractures , amidst the hectic routine of our post production, had brought along with it a lot of stress and chaos. Thank you for all the prayers, those numerous messages and goodwill gestures that have come from various corners , my journey to recovery is progressing steadily. After two back to back surgeries to fix all the broken bones in the last five days , am back to life with our movie post production work, gearing up for our much awaited global release on December 14th!

Gratitude in abundance for Dr Gunasekharan of Invivo hospital Bangalore , a dear friend and one of the finest surgeons in the country, his stellar team of doctors and medical staff who made this all happen smoothly and aided my swift recovery. A special mention to Lalettan, Antony and the amazing VFX waala team for the inspirational support and strength given during this testing time. Thank you is too small a word ! (sic)

If there is one film that the whole country is looking forward to, it has to be 2.0. The mega-budget project directed by Shankar is all set to storm screens this Thursday (November 29). As the movie is set for release, the makers are busy with the final round of patch up works. In between this busy schedule, Malayali filmmaker Alphonse Puthren got the opportunity to interact with the man of the hour, director Shankar.

Taking to his official Facebook handle, Alphonse shared his experience of meeting his idol. Alphonse, Resul Pookutty and Shankar dined together during the break of 2.0’s sound mixing. Sharing a photo taken with Shankar, Alphonse has written a note which reads,

“Got a great opportunity to meet Shankar sir the most appreciated director in India with the help of Resool Pookutty sir. They invited me for the dinner during the dinner break of 2.0 sound mixing.

I remember me and my father watching Gentleman FDFS in Mymoon Lulu theater in Ernakulam when it released.

Then I remember the FDFS of Anniyan where I saw in Shenoys theater Ernakulam with my friends. Got the ticket after I was soaked fully in rain water. But I dint feel I was drenched in water when I saw the film . It was so thrillling .

Then I remember Watching Sivaji show before release in Ambattur with friends. Saw all the songs twice because everyone was asking for once more .

From Gentleman till Nanban I remember watching Shankar sir’s films FDFS . I missed out I because I was editing my film Premam that time .

I saw this this this this huge personality in front of my eyes and talked to him .
He is so clear like crystal in his speech and he is a very humble Gentleman with a sense of humour which is very innocent.

I got inspired by his films from childhood and after talking to him in real I got more inspired.

Thanks a lot for inspiring me and millions of people and waiting to get inspired more sir.” (sic)

Ever since he made the sensational ‘Premam’ in 2015, cinephiles have been eagerly waiting to hear about Alphonse’s new projects. Earlier this year, he had announced that his next would be a Tamil film with Kalidas Jayaram in Tamil. The movie is expected to go on floors some time next year.

The smashing success of ‘Varathan’ and the applause that came his way has made Sharafudheen an exciting actor to watch out for. As reported by us earlier, he is teaming up with director AK Sajan for a romantic flick. The movie has been titled as ‘Neeyum Njaanum’ and it has Anu Sithara as the female lead. Siju Wilson, Vishnu Unnikrishnan and Aju Varghese are also there in major roles.

As per reports, ‘Neeyum Njaanum’ is a triangular love story. Director AK Sajan is well known for helming crime thrillers; this is his first attempt in directing a light hearted entertainer. The movie marks Sharafudheen’s debut as a lead actors. He plays Yakub, an average Malayali youth, who falls in love with Anu Sithara’s character Ashmi. A new dimension of Sharafudheen can be seen in this movie.

Shoot for the movie is currently underway and is expected to hit screens next year. Kozhikode and Mumbai are the major locations. Siyad Koker is producing the movie under the banner of Koker’s Films.

Surabhi is known for her roles in films like ‘Kuttanadan Marpapa’ and ‘Kinavalli’. She will be seen as Jayaram’s daughter in this upcoming movie and it is said to be a very prominent role.

Aneesh Anwar has proved his mettle as a filmmaker with his works like ‘Zachariyayude Garbhinikal’ and ‘Kumbasaram’. Njan Prakashan teaser goes viral in social medias!

Last day, the teaser of Fahadh Faasil’s upcoming movie ‘Njan Prakashan’ was released online. The 90 second long teaser features Fahadh alone and his antics evoke laughter. He looks like the typical Malayali youth and reminds one of the fun guy-next-door roles that Mohanlal used to play in the late 80s and 90s. The teaser has received wide acceptance and is trending across all social media platforms.

‘Njan Prakashan’ marks Fahadh’s second outing with director Sathyan Anthikad after the successful ‘Oru Indian Pranayakadha’. The writer-director duo of Sreenivasan and Sathyan Anthikad, known for delivering several hit films, are reuniting after a 16-year-long gap with this movie. It is a typical Sreenivasan style satirical film that has Fahadh Faasil playing the titular role.

Nikhila Vimal, noted for her performances in films like ‘Love 24×7’ and ‘Aravindante Athidhikal’, is paired with Fahadh. Sreenivasan is also essaying a crucial role in the movie. Manju Sunichen, Aneesh G Menon, Devika Sanjay, KPAC Lalitha and Anju Kurian are also part of the supporting cast.

In the technical side, S Kumar, a regular in Sathyan Anthikad films has cranked the camera and Shaan Rahman is handling th music department. Sethu Mannarkad of Full Moon Cinema is producing this movie, which is scheduled to hit screens next month for Christmas.
