Uncle: Song rendered by Mammootty to be released today evening!

Mammootty starrer Uncle is all set to hit screens tomorrow (April 27). As a surprise gift for the fans, the makers are releasing a new song from the movie today evening at 6 PM. Bijibal has composed this track which is rendered by none other than Mammootty. The veteran star has sung only rarely, so it further adds up to the excitement.

Uncle is directed by debutant Gireesh Damodar, a former associate of Ranjith and Padmakumar. The movie is scripted by actor Joy Mathew, his second outing as a scriptwriter after the critically acclaimed ‘Shutter’. Just like his previous movie, Uncle also looks like a socially relevant film. It tells the story of a teenage girl and her father’s friend. ‘CIA’ fame Karthika Muraleedharan and Mammootty play these two lead roles in the movie.

According to the makers, the core plot is set in the journey of Mammootty’s character Krishnakumar aka KK from Ooty to Kozhikode. KK, a Mumbai based businessman, is accompanied by his friend’s daughter in this trip. It is about an unusual situation a middle class family is made to face. The social and political setting of Kerala is of much prominence in the movie.

Mammootty is said to be essaying a grey shaded role in this movie. Fans and commoners are highly excited as Mammootty is playing such a performance-oriented character after a long while. Uncle also stars Joy Mathew, Ganapathi, Vinay Forrt, Suresh Krishna, Kailash, KPAC Lalitha and Muthumani in supporting roles.

Joy Mathew and Sajai Sebastian are jointly funding the movie under their banners of Abra Films International and SJ Films.

Ever since Karthik Subbaraj announced his new project with superstar Rajinikanth, speculations have been doing the rounds about Vijay Sethupathi playing a crucial role in the movie. The news has now been officially announced by the makers, Sun Pictures with a tweet in their official Twitter handle. Rumors are abuzz that Vijay Sethupathi has been signed as the villain, but a confirmation regarding the same has not been given.

Karthik Subbaraj has made acclaimed films like Pizza, Jigarthanda, Iraivi and the recent silent-thriller Mercury. Interestingly, Vijay Sethupathi has been part of all the director’s movies except Mercury. They share a great rapport and have been friends for long. It will be exciting to see how Karthik places two powerhouse of talents like Rajinikanth and Vijay Sethupathi together on-screen.

Shoot for this yet-to-be titled movie is slated to commence by June. The director and his team is currently busy with the process of finalizing the supporting cast and crew. Vineeth Sreenivasan’s next outing as a lead actor, Aravindante Athidhikal is all set to screens this Friday (April 27). M Mohanan, who has delivered hit films like like Katha Parayumbol and Manikyakallu is directing this movie, which promises to be a feel good entertainer. Character posters of all major actors in the movie was released last day by the makers.

From the promos, Aravindante Athidhikal promises to a quality entertainer for the families, who throng theatres in large numbers during this holiday season. The movie scripted by Rajesh Raghavan is set in the premises of the famous Mookambika Temple in Kollur.

Vineeth Sreenivasan plays Aravindan, an orphan raised by Madhavan (Sreenivasan), who owns a lodge – Mookambika Vilasam. The movie explores Aravindan’s relationship with his guests and his wait for his long lost mother. Nikhila Vimal of ‘Love 24×7’ fame is paired opposite Vineeth in the movie.

Urvashi, Shanthi Krishna, Sreejaya, Prem Kumar, KPAC Lalitha, Vijayaraghavan, Aju Varghese, Biju Kuttan, Salim Kumar, Kottayam Nazeer, Sneha Sreekumar and Baiju are part of the movie’s supporting cast. Shaan Rahman, a regular in Vineeth’s movies, is handling the music department in this movie as well. Swaroop Philip has cranked the camera and veteran Ranjan Abraham has edited the movie.

Aravindante Athidhikal is jointly produced by Pradeep Kumar Pathiyara of Pathiyara Entertainment Pvt Ltd and Noble Babu Thomas of Big Bang Entertainments.

Soubin Shahir is on a high after the well deserved success of his latest release, ‘Sudani From Nigeria’. He has also signed his next as a lead actor with ‘Guppy’ fame John Paul George. While he is busy with his acting commitments, Soubin is also finding time for his writings. Last year, he made his directorial debut with the superhit ‘Parava’. The latest we hear is that he is scripting for a new movie which will be directed by Aashiq Abu.

Soubin and Aashiq Abu have been close friends since long and the duo share a very good rapport. So when they team up for the first time, expectations are bound to be on the higher side. More details regarding the genre or cast of this upcoming movie are not yet known.

Aashiq Abu’s last outing ‘Mayaanadhi’, an intense romantic thriller, defied all odds and emerged as a successful affair at the box office. National award winning Bollywood actor Manoj Joshi joins team Odiyan!

Shoot for the much talked about Mohanlal starrer Odiyan is nearing its final stages. Ad filmmaker VA Shrikumar Menon is making his directorial debut with this movie scripted by Harikrishnan. Along with Mohanlal, Prakash Raj and Manju Warrier also play other major roles in the movie. Latest addition to the cast is North Indian actor Manoj Joshi, who won the National award last year for best supporting actor.

Mohanlal plays Manikyan, an odiyan who is highly skilled in Odividya, a kind of black magic practice. Prakash Raj’s character is named Ravunni while Manju Warrier plays the female lead, Prabha. Manoj Joshi is said to be playing the role of Manikyan’s grandfather in the movie. Though it is a brief role, the character is very crucial in the movie’s storyline.

Odiyan’s plot is set in three different timelines starting from the pre-electricty days in the 1950s to 2000. The narrative follows Manikyan’s life from his childhood to his 60s. Narain, Innocent, Kailas, Sana Althaf, Siddique and Nandu are also part of the movie’s supporting cast.

Odiyan’s technical crew includes cinematographer Shaji Kumar, editor Johnkutty, action choreographer Peter Hein, art director Prashanth Madhav and composers M Jayachandran and Sam CS. Antony Perumbavoor is producing Odiyan under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.

As informed by Mohanlal last day, the motion poster of his upcoming movie Neerali was released in social medias today. This Ajoy Varma directorial has Mohanlal playing Sunny George, a gemologist. Newcomer Saju Thomas has scripted this movie as an action-packed adventure thriller. The movie is slated for an Eid release in June.

Neerali’s post-production works are currently at a brisk pace. Since it is an adventure thriller, the movie has a lot of VFX involved and the makers have signed one of India’s leading VFX companies to handle the same. According to our sources close to the unit, Neerali will have the best quality visual effects that Malayalam cinema has ever seen. The makers are investing huge amount of money and time to get the best possible output.

Neerali’s cast includes Nadiya Moidu, Parvatii Nair, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Dileesh Pothan, Sai Kumar, Megha Mathew and Nasser. Technical crew is mostly from Bollywood. Santhosh Thundiyil, noted for his works in several Hindi films has cranked the camera in Neerali. Director Ajoy Varma himself is editing the movie and Stephen Devassy is handling the music department.

The movie is produced by Santhosh T Kuruvilla’s Moonshot Entertainment, and co-produced by John Thomas and Mibu Jose Nettikdan.

A beautiful photo of the two lead actors was released in social medias today. Dulquer and Keerthy look like a great couple in the movie. Since this is the first time the two actors are working together, cinephiles are excited about their on-screen chemistry.

Mahanati traces Savitri’s life from the 1940s to 1980s and features those films she acted with NT Rama Rao, Akkineni Nageshwara Rao and other legends from the Telugu and Tamil film industry. Savitri was briefly married to actor Gemini Ganesan and the movie will also show some lesser known details about their relationship.

Alphonse Puthren’s Premam is unarguably one of the most popular Malayalam movies in recent years. Releasing in 2015, the Nivin Pauly starrer emerged as a huge sensation across the South. It was later remade in Telugu with Naga Chaitanya in the lead. If latest reports are to be believed, Arjun Kapoor has been signed for the Hindi remake of Premam.

Abhishek Kapoor, who has made movies like Rock On, Kai Po Che and Fitoor, will be remaking Premam in Hindi. Reportedly, Abhishek has already started working on its script while simultaneously helming Kedarnath, his upcoming directorial based on the 2013 floods that stars Sushant Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan. More details regarding Premam’s remake are expected to be revealed in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Arjun Kapoor has three big projects coming up – Namastey England, Sandeep Aur Pinky Faraar and Panipat. He has also committed for the remake of last year’s superhit Telugu movie Arjun Reddy. Though Shahid Kapoor was also in talks for the movie, the project eventually came to Arjun.
