Massive!! Mohanlal roped in for Baahubali star Prabhas’ Saaho

Post the humongous success of Baahubali, Prabhas has become a nationwide sensation. He is hugely popular all across the country and his movies are eagerly awaited by the audience. He recently started shooting for Saaho, his first film out of the Baahuabli series in five years.

Sujeeth is directing this movie, jointly produced by Vamsi Krishna Reddy and Pramod Uppalapati under the banner of UV Creations. To cash in on Prabhas’ huge popularity, the makers are shooting the movie as a trilingual in Telugu, Tamil and Hindi languages.

Saaho is being made as on a huge scals and the makers are roping in actors from various industries to give it a pan Indian appeal. Bollywood diva Shraddha Kapoor is playing the female lead in the movie. Veteran Bollywood star Jackie Shroff, Neil Nitin Mukesh, Chunky Pandey, Mandira Bedi, Mahesh Manjrekar, Tamil actor Arun Vijay and Tinnu Anand are playing prominent roles in the movie.

Latest addition to the camp is none other than Malayalam superstar Mohanlal. Reports suggest that Mohanlal has been brought on board to play a very integral part in the movie. He will be seen in an equally important role as Prabhas’. Earlier, there were reports about SS Rajamouli planning a movie with Prabhas and Mohanlal in the lead, only to be dimissed later.

The success of films like Janatha Garage, Manyam Puli (Telugu version of Pulimurugan) and the critically acclaimed Manamantha have increased Mohanlal’s popularity among the non-Keralites. It will be highly exciting to see Prabhas share screen space with Mohanlal, unarguably one of the best actors the nation has ever produced.

With such a stellar star cast, the expectations on Saaho is certain to go sky-high. The film is being produced on a grand scale. International stuntman Kenny Bates, famous for his works in Hollywood films like Die Hard and Transformers has been roped in to choreograph the high octane stunts in Saaho. Renowned cinematographer R Madhie is wielding the camera and the famed trio of Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy is handling the music department.

Saaho be shot across exotic locales in Romania, Abu Dhabi, Mumbai and Hyderabad. Prabhas will take on a whole, new bad ass avatar. This high octane action packed entertainer is expected to hit screens by the end of next year.

The second half of 2017 has commenced and Kollywood has witnessed the release of a couple of big ticket films like VIP 2 and Vivegam. Director Mohan Raja’s Velaikkaran starring Sivakarthikeyan, Fahadh Faasil and Nayanthara in the lead roles is the next biggie waiting in the pipeline. RD Raja of 24 AM Studios is funding this movie, scheduled to hit screens worldwide on September 29.

Director Mohan Raja’s last release Thani Oruvan was a big success. Velaikkaran also lies on similar lines of a socially relevant commercial entertainer. While Thani Oruvan was about medical mafia, Velaikaaran discusses about food adulteration and how a slum dweller fights against the corrupt system. The movie marks the debut of Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil in Tamil cinema.

Fahadh is playing a full length character alongside Sivakarthikeyan in the film. His character named as Aadhi is an unique role that has several shades. There are different layers to the relationship between the lead characters played by Fahadh and Sivakarthikeyan. It begins as a friendship; there is also a guru-sishya element and it also has a clash of personalities.

Velaikkaran also stars Prakash Raj, RJ Balaji, Rohini and Sathish in supporting roles. Music department is handled by young sensation Anirudh Ravichander.

Confirmed: Here’s the official release date of Dulquer Salmaan’s Solo!

Dulquer Salmaan’s Solo is highly anticipated by movie lovers across South India. The songs and teasers have been very impressive heightening the expectations. This Tamil-Malayalam bilingual is directed by Bollywood filmmaker Bejoy Nambiar.

There have been several speculations about the movie’s release date. Producer Abraham Mathew of Abaam Movies in a recent interaction with Onlookers Media has confirmed that Solo will hit screens on October 5.

Solo is an anthology of four stories and Dulquer plays four different protagonists in the movie. It is a multi genre film that revolves around the four elements – earth, wind, fire and water. All four characters played by Dulquer are somehow connected to the four elements. Bejoy Nambiar, who has also scripted the film, has woven these elements into four stories with love and revenge as the premise.

Since Solo is made as a bilingual, the movie has a long line up of actors from industries across the country. Bollywood actor Dino Morea, Ann Augustine, Arti Venkatesh, Sheelu Abraham, Kabali fame Sai Dhansika, Deepti Sati, Marathi actress Sai Tamhankar, Sruthi Hariharan, Manoj K Jayan, Prakash Belawadi, Bengali filmmaker Quashiq Mukherjee, Sathish, Soubin Shahir, John Vijay and many others are part of the cast.

Music for the movie is composed by 8 different composers which includes several leading bands as well. Girish Gangadharan, Sejal Shah and Madhu Neelakandan have cranked the camera for the movie. Abraham Mathew has produced the Malayalam version under the banner of Abaam Movies. Tamil version is jointly funded by Anil Jain and Bejoy Nambiar.

Mohanlal’s Velipadinte Pusthakam is releasing tomorrow (August 31) all over Kerala amid high expectations. The makers have released a new song from the movie today. This beautiful track is rendered by Madhu Balakrishnan and Vrinda Shameek. Shaan Rahman has composed it and Vayalar Sharath Chandra Varma has penned the lyrics.

Mohanlal, Anoop Menon, Anna Reshma and Priyanka feature in this song. Velipadinte Pusthakam is written by Benny P Nayarambalam. Mohanlal appears in two different looks in the film – one as college vice principal Michael Idicula and the other as a local goon hailing from a coastal area.

Angamaly Diaries fame Sarath Kumar, Jude Anthany Joseph, Aanandam fame Arun Kurian Siddique, Salim Kumar, Alencier Ley Lopez and many other supporting actors are also part of the cast. It’s the start of another Onam season and the Malayali audience are in to witness a mouthwatering clash of some biggies. Mohanlal’s Velipadinte Pusthakam, Mammootty’s Pullikkaran Staraa, Prithviraj’s Adam Joan and Nivin Pauly’s Njandukalude Naatil Oridavela will be locking horns from this Friday.

Mohanlal’s Velipadinte Pusthakam is a highly anticipated movie. The makers had released the movie’s official teaser recently. The teaser showed glimpses of the college portions in which Mohanlal portrays the role of vice principal Michael Idicula.

Velipadinte Pusthakam is written by Benny P Nayarambalam. Mohanlal appears in two different looks in the film- one as a college professor and the other as a local goon hailing from a coastal area. Angamaly Diaries fame Anna Reshma Rajan is playing the female lead.

Anoop Menon, Priyanka Nair, Angamaly Diaries fame Sarath Kumar, Jude Anthany Joseph, Aanandam fame Arun Kurian Siddique, Salim Kumar, Alencier Ley Lopez and many other supporting actors are also part of the cast. Vikram Mehra and BR Vijayalakshmi are jointly funding this movie under the banner of Yoodlee Films. Ace cinematographer-turned-filmmaker Santhosh Sivan is serving as an executive producer.

The movie’s official teaser has been released via Tovino’s official Facebook page. This upcoming movie is a romantic film based on a real life incident that occured in Latin America. Udayabanu Maheshwaran has penned the story and screenplay for this movie. Tovino Thomas and Pia Bajpai are playing the lead roles in this romantic entertainer.

Shoot for the movie has already been completed and it was shot extensively in various parts of Kerala and Chennai. Veteran actors Prabhu, Suhasini Mani Ratnam and Rohini are playing prominent roles. Prithviraj is as busy as ever with a slew of movies in his kitty. He is awaiting the release of Adam Joan, which is all set to hit screens this Friday (August 31). This Prithviraj starrer will lock horns with Mohanlal’s Velipadinte Pusthakam, Mammootty’s Pullikkaran Staraa and Nivin Pauly’s Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela this Onam season.

Adam Joan marks the directorial debut of scenarist Jinu Abraham. It is a stylish revenge thriller shot majorly in Scotland. Meanwhile, there certain reports suggest that Prithviraj’s Vimaanam is gearing up to release in September. It is being reported that ths makers are eyeing to release it during the Pooja holidays towards September end.

Vimaanam, directed by debutant Pradeep M Nair is inspired from the life of a hearing and speech impaired person Saji Thomas, who built an aircraft on his own. The movie is not exactly a biopic on Saji’s life. It also has a beautiful romantic track and newbie Durga Krishna is playing the female lead.

Prithviraj is playing the role of a deaf and mute person in the movie. He plays different life stages of the protagonist, who is a high school dropout. Since the film traverses through different stages, the actor had to sport distinct looks. Prithviraj, known for his dedication, had shed around 10 kilos for essaying this highly challenging role.

Nedumudi Venu, Lena, Aanandam fame Anarkali Marikkar, Praveena, Sudheer Karamana, Saiju Kurup, Shanthi Krishna and many other prominent actors are also part of the cast. Vimaanam is produced by Listin Stephen under the banner of Magic Frames.

Nivin Pauly wrapped up the shoot of Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela few months back itself. Nivin got himself busy with other projects in Tamil and Malayalam, which kept delaying the movie’s release. This family entertainer marks the debut directorial of Premam fame Althaf Salim. The makers have announced that the movie will hit screens on September 1 as an Onam release.

Njandukalude Naattil Oridavela has a host of youngsters, most of them who were friends already. The team had lot of fun during the movie’s shoot and that’s evident from the making video that Nivin Pauly has released through his Facebook page.

Along with the video, he has also written a note that reads,

Njandukalude Naatil Oridavela is a family entertainer in which veteran actors Lal and Shanthi Krishna play Nivin Pauly’s parents. Srinda Arhaan and Njan Steve Lopez fame Ahanaa Krishna will be seen as his sisters. Dileesh Pothan, Premam actors Sharafudheen, Siju Wilson and Krishna Sankar are also part of the supporting cast.

The movie is written jointly by Althaf Salim and George Kora. Mukesh Muraleedharan has cranked the camera and Justin Varghese has handled the music department. This is Nivin Pauly’s second production venture after the superhit Action Hero Biju. He is producing the movie under his banner Pauly Jr Pictures. E4 Entertainment will be distributing the movie in Kerala.

It’s been nearly an year since the release of Pulimurugan, Malayalam cinema’s biggest ever box office success. The movie, released last October during the Pooja holidays went on to shatter multiple records to emerge as Mollywood’s only 100 crore grosser.

Last day, the movie’s 6D version was launched and as per the makers it is the first ever first 6D movie in Indian cinema. The first preview show of the 6D version was held last day in Kochi. The core elements of Pulimurugan was condensed into ten minutes and converted to 6D format.

The audience will have an incredible experience watching this action packed movie in 6D. The makers are hopeful that the ten minutes of Pulimurugan will change the whole perspective of Malayalam cinema. Apparently, converting movies into 6D content is very expensive and that is the reason why filmmakers are not showing interest in trying such innovative things.

Pulimurugan’s 3D version was released recently in over 100 screens in Kerala. The 3D version of Pulimurugan had entered the books of Guinness world records for the biggest screening of a 3D film. It was screened to nearly 20,000 viewers at the Adlux Convention Center in Angamaly. It surpassed the previous record held by Hollywood movie Men in Black 3, which was viewed by 6,819 fans at Berlin’s O2 World.

Pulimurugan, written by Udhayakrishna was directed by Vysakh. Tomichan Mulakupadam produced the movie under his banner Mulakupadam Films. Pulimurugan has an universally appealing story about man vs wild. Mohanlal’s amazing action sequences and the scenes involving the tigers are the USP the movie. It will certainly be an awesome experience to watch the alluring visuals in a 6D format.
