Prithviraj’s next release is Adam Joan, the directorial debut of scenarist Jinu Abraham. Latest song video from the movie was released via Malayalam Muzik 247’s YouTube channel today. Deepak Dev has composed this superb track sung by Prithviraj himself. Santhosh Varma has penned the lyrics. Earlier also, Prithviraj has lent his voice to Deepak Dev’s tracks in films like Puthiya Mugham, Urumi and 7th Day.

Adam Joan is a revenge thriller in which Prithviraj plays the titular role. The movie stars Bhavana, Mishti Chakraborty, Rahul Madhav and Narain in major roles. Adam Joan has Prithviraj playing a high range planter who manages his family business and properties after his father passes away.

Major portions of the movie has been shot in Scotland. Narain is playing the role of Cyriac, his friend from college. Veteran actor Siddique, Lena, Jaya Menon and Baby Abida Hussain, who played Akshay Kumar’s daughter in Airlift, are also part of the cast.

Adam Joan is being produced by Brijeesh Mohamed, Josemon Simon and Nihal. Renji Panicker will be presenting this movie under his banner Renji Panicker Entertainment. The movie is al set to hit screens during this Onam season.

AR Murugadoss is one of the very few filmmakers who has tasted success in all the industries that he has worked in. The Tamil born director has given blockbusters like Dheena, Thuppakki, Kaththi, Ghajini (both in Hindi and Tamil), Stalin etc.

He is currently working on Spyder, his much awaited bilingual with Mahesh Babu in the lead. The movie is in the final stages of production and is slated to hit screens for the Pooja holidays next month.

It is already known that AR Murugadoss’ next film will be with Thalapathy Vijay. They are uniting for the third time after the successful Thuppakki and Kaththi.

In a recent interview, when asked about the director’s other future projects, he made a very interesting revelation. Apparently, ARM has narrated a story to superstar Rajinikanth and he has agreed to do the project after the release of 2.0 and his ongoing Kaala.

He is quoted saying, “I have a few scripts in mind and have also narrated a story to Rajni sir who liked it immensely. After the release of his two films, Kaala and 2.0, my project will start.”

This is a really huge news as AR Murugadoss has been mentioning about his desire to work with Rajinikanth from the past itslef. He is an ace filmmaker who dishes out commercially viable entertainers without making any compromise on quality.

Rajinikanth meanwhile is busy shooting for the gangster flick Kaala, his second outing with director Pa Ranjith after last year’s Kabali. The magnum opus 2.0 directed by Shankar will be superstar’s next release. The makers are planning to release the movie in January next year.

Actor-director-choreographer Raghava Lawrence is the one who should be credited for starting the horror comedy wave. The success of his Muni/Kanchana franchise triggered the trend of horror comedy flicks in Tamil cinema. Kanchana 2, the third part in the series, was a whopping success doing a business of over Rs 100 crores.

Now if reports are to be believed, Raghava Lawrence is all set to helm the fourth part in the series. There are reports about Lawrence himself directing this movie. The film is expected to be named as Muni 4 Kanchana. Apart from acting, he would also be directing and producing it under his Raghavendra Productions banner.

Reportedly, leading Tamil channel Sun TV has already purchased the satellite rights of the film for a huge amount. Satellite rights for the Hindi version have also been sold already for a whopping price.

Earlier it was speculated that Raghava Lawrence would be teaming up with director P Vasu again for the remake of superstar Rajinikanth’s yesteryear blockbuster Moondru Mugam.

Then it was reported that Lawrence would be working on a historical film scripted by Baahubali writer Vijayendra Prasad and directed by SS Rajamouli’s assistant.An official confirmation about his next project is still awaited.

Rosapoo is an upcoming movie directed by debutant Vinu Joseph, a former associate of Rajeev Ravi. It is a realistic black comedy starring Biju Menon in the lead role. South Indian actress Anjali is playing the female lead. Neeraj Madhav is essaying a very prominent role in the movie. Latest addition to the cast is Kannada actress Shilpa Manjunath.

Shilpa will be making her M Town debut with Rosapoo. Hers is a very solid role and she will be seen as Neeraj Madhav’s pair in the movie. She chose to act in the movie as she feels that Rosapoo, in spite of being an entertainer, gives her great scope for performance.

Rosapoo is jointly written by Vinu Joseph and Santhosh Echikkanam.Anjali is making a comeback to Mollywood after a gap of six long years with this movie. Her character in the movie is half Tamilian and half Kannadiga. Interestingly, the movie will have 143 characters with prominence to each one of them. Soubin Shahir and Dileesh Pothan are also part of the cast.

Shibu Thameens, who has produced big budget films like Vijay’s Puli and Vikram’s Irumugan is bankrolling this movie. This is his second production venture in Malayalam after Dulquer Salmaan’s superhit movie ABCD.

It is the sequel to the blockbuster movie Imsai Arasan 23am Pulikecei, released back in 2006. Chimbudevan, who helmed the first part is directing the sequel also. The movie went on floors today in Chennai.

Director Shankar, who produced the first part, is jointly funding this upcoming movie with Lyca Productions. Former Miss World runner-up Parvathy Omanakuttan has been roped in to play the female lead. She will be seen as Vadivelu’s pair in the film.

Kayamkulam Kochunni is one of the biggest projects in Nivin Pauly’s career till date. And naturally the actor is going all out to get himself ready to play the role of the legendary thief. Rosshan Andrewss is directing this movie scripted by Bobby and Sanjay.

Nivin Pauly is working hard to get in shape to play Kochunni. The actor is traning in horse riding besides taking some basic lessons in Kalaripayattu from a martial arts expert. He has started practising already and will also work on developing his flexibility. Nivin is mostly known for his guy next door kind of roles.

However, of late the actor is conspicuously striving hard to break the shackles and come out of his comfort zone. The forthright sub inspector in Action Hero Biju and the communist activist in Sakhavu were his attempts to try different roles. Kochunni will undoubtedly be the most challening role in his career.

Actor Sunny Wayne also plays very prominent role of a Kalaripayattu expert in Kayamkulam Kochunni. He is also undergoing traning to pick up the basic lessons of the martial art. Veteran Tamil actor Sarath Kumar is said to be essaying a major role in the movie, but his casting has not yet been confirmed.

Amala Paul has been roped in as the female lead and Kannada actress Priyanka Thimmesh is also part of the cast. The technical team also boasts of some bigwigs like Bollywood cinematographer Binod Pradhan, National award winning sound designer PM Satheesh and Firefly Creative Studio, who handled the VFX in films like Baahubali and Enthiran, are part of this project.

Gokulam Gopalan is funding this big budget movie under the banner of Sri Gokulam Films. Shoot for the movie will commence next month in Uduppi. The makers are eyeing to release it by March next year.

We are just hours away from the release of one of the most anticipated films of the year- Vivegam. This Ajith starrer is hitting screens tomorrow amidst humongous expecations. It is Ajith’s first release in two years and his fans are eagerly waiting for the movie. A massive release is being planned for the movie worldwide. Ajith fans are already in a frenzy mood with tickets being sold like hot cakes.

Sivakarthikeyan fans also have reasons to rejoice as the teaser of his upcoming movie Velaikkaran will be aired along with Vivegam. 24 AM Studios, the banner under which Velaikkaran is being produced, informed this through their official Twitter handle. Their tweet reads,

Interestingly, the only common link between Vivegam and Velaikaaran is young sensation Anirudh Ravichander, who has handled the music department in both these films. Vivegam is a spy-thriller made on an international scale while Velaikkaran is a commercial entertainer that deals with a relevant social issue.

Vivegam is director Siruthai Siva’s third successive film with Ajith after Veeram and Vedhalam. Ajith is playing the role of a foreign agent in the movie. Kajal Agarwal is essaying the female lead while Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi and Kamal Haasan’s younger daughter Akshara Haasan will be seen in prominent roles. This big budget movie is produced by Satya Jyothi Films.

Velaikkaran, directed by Mohan Raja boasts of a stellar star cast. The movie marks the debut of Fahadh Faasil in Tamil cinema. Sivakarthikeyan and Nayanthara are paired for the first time with this film. Sneha, Prakash Raj, Thambi Ramiah, RJ Balaji, Rohini and many others part of the cast. The movie is slated to hit screens by the end of September.

Mersal is the first ever Vijay film to have only four songs

Vijay’s Mersal is currently in the post-production stage and the team is working hard to ensure a smooth release this October. Songs from the movie were released on Sunday with a grand audio launch function. Academy award winner AR Rahman has composed four songs for the movie.

All four songs- Aalaporan Tamizhan, Macho, Mersalarasan and Neethane have been well received by the listeners. AR Rahman has continued to experiment with this film also. Mersal’s album comprise of two mass numbers, a soulful romantic track and a funky western style song.

Interestingly, this is the first ever Vijay film to have only four songs. Almost all his films have followed the formulaic path of five or more tracks. This is quite a refreshing change as the songs will not stand out as an hindrance to the movie’s flow. Among the four tracks released, Aalaporan Tamizhan has already become a huge hit and is topping the music charts for the last two weeks.

Mersal marks the reunion of Vijay and director Atlee after the success of Theri. Vijay is said to be playing a triple role in the film. Samantha, Kajal Agarwal and Nithya Menen play the three female leads. SJ Suryah, Sathyaraj, Vadivelu, Sathyan, Kovai Sarala and Yogi Babu are also part of the cast. The movie is produced under the prestigious banner of Sri Thenandal Films.

After Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Shah Rukh Khan and Kamal Haasan, Malayalam superstar Mohanlal also recently made his entry to small screen. The first episode of his talk show Lal Salaam was aired last Friday on Amrita TV.

Unlike the other shows hosted by his peers, Mohanlal’s Lal Salaam is not just for the sake of entertainment. It provides a platform to give recognition to those who have been influential in the positive changes in the society.

In a recent interview to leading National news channel CNN IBN, Mohanlal himself had said that Lal Salaam will be a socially imapctful show. “This is just not another filmy show. We’re bringing people who have committed their whole life to social service and doing unbelievable jobs for the society.

It is a platform for them to tell what they have been doing. Lal Salaam is not a regular show. It is going to be a revelation. It can cause a lot of impact on the society,” said Mohanlal.

The show has got great reception among the Malayali audience. Mohanlal is one actor who is loved by the viewers irrespective of the age groups. Kids and elders adore him alike which has made the show an instant success. The fantastic dubsmash between him and Manju Warrier on the first episode was the perfect kick-start for the proceedings.

On the cine front, Mohanlal’s much awaited Odiyan with director VA Shrikumar Menon is all set to go on floors by the end of this month. The superstar is currently on a short vacation in Bhutan and will soon join the Odiyan team in Varanasi. The movie has already entered the 50 crore club and is expected to continue the rich run in the coming weeks also. Meanwhile, the actor’s long delayed Puriyatha Puthir is finally set for release on the 1st of September.

The movie, which was earlier titled as Mellisai, is directed by Ranjith Jeyakodi. Second trailer of the movie has been released by the makers. Puriyatha Puthir, as the title suggests, looks like a psychological thriller. Vijay Sethupathi and Gayathrie of Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kaanom fame play the lead roles. Ramesh Thilak and Arjunan are also part of the cast.

The movie is jointly funded by Deepan Boopathy and Ratesh Velu under the bannef of Rebel Studio. Vikram Vedha fame Sam CS has composed the music and Soodhu Kavvum fame Dinesh Krishnan is behind the movie’s visuals.
