Young Telugu actor Prashanth died in accident !

Another shocking news is coming from Telugu Film industry and it says that  Telugu Young actor named Prashanth has been dead in an accident on Friday. He was 26 years old and said to be involved in an affair with a married lady which led to the accident.

Prashanth said to be involved in a physical relationship with a married woman. He came to the flat of that lady to meet her on Friday. When he was inside the flat with that lady, her husband came home. That pressed the panic button for Prashant and in a desperate attempt escape from there without being noticed by the husband of that woman, he went through the back door of the flat and tried to come down sliding through a pipe. But his legs slipped while coming down sliding through the pipe and he fell down from the 6th floor to the ground.

The incident occurred at a place named Moosapett at Hyderabad. He had relationship with that lady there for a long time and it was she who invited him to her flat as on Friday she was alone there. But unexpectedly her husband came there with some relatives and that had resulted in the shocking and unfortunate incident. All the events that happened there was just looks like a cinema itself.

He had also worked as a choreographer in many Telugu films in his career. This death issue is now the second consecutive shocking news coming from Tollywood. Two weeks back a middle aged man was found dead inside a theater in Hyderabad. He was watching a horror film and while watching it he suffered with heart attack and died at the spot.

Anyway Telugu industry is really shocked to hear what happened to Prashant Bala and the incidents that lead to the death of this actor had also bring some shame on them as well.

It has been a great news for the film lovers in India when the report almost confirmed the participation of Hollywood Super Star Arnold Schwarzenegger in Shankar directorial Film named Enthiran 2 having Super star Rajinikanth in lead role. It was after lot of rumors that Arnold’s name came up. There has been rumors associated with names like Aamir Khan, Vikram, Kamal Haasan, Hrithik Roshan etc, before Arnold’s name was almost confirmed to play the Villain role in the film. But now the reports coming in which says that Shankar is looking for a replacement for Arnold in this film and another Hollywood Super Star Hugh Jackman will be approached with the offer as per reports.

The whole issue happened when Arnold told Shankar to change the screenplay of the film as he felt that it is not up to the standard of a Hollywood film script. Enthiran 2, which is the sequel of Enthiran starred by Rajinikanth and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan was one of the big budget films in India and also one of the biggest success here as well. Enthiran 2 is said to be made with a budget which can surpass Bahubali and it is all set to become the highest budget film in India as well.

Arnold had demanded 100 crore rupees as remuneration for the film and that too for working just 25 days. This news about the replacement of Arnold is not an official one and also the news about Hugh Jackman is a rumor. Hugh Jackman is popular in India as well with his character in Volverine series. If he comes, that too a big bonus for the Enthiran team.

Last day some rumor also spread that Tamil actor Suriya has been approached by the Enthiran team to do a character in this film. But it is not sure that whether it is the villain role in the film or not. Amy Jackson is been finalized as one of the heroines and the names such as Deepika Pdukone, Sonakshi Sinha etc has been said by media as the second heroine in the film.

Prithviraj Sukumaran is having the best time of his life with back to back blockbusters as his latest venture Amar Akbar Anthony (release date October 16, 2015) also attained blockbuster status in Box office and that too in just 3 weeks. The credit not goes to Prithviraj alone as it is a multi-star film with 3 heroes. They are Indrajith Sukumaran and Jayasurya along with Prithviraj.

As per the latest collection report of the film, it had earned more than 30 crores of rupees from box office in just 28 days of its theatrical run in Kerala alone. From the first day the film showed its power due to the multi-star cast and the great positive reviews helped it in a big way as well.

The man behind this success was not any actor in this film but it is the director of this film. It is as you all know, Nadirsha who made his debut unforgettable. He made a film which is not only an ultimate entertainer but also a film with a good message.

The film is still running with houseful shows here in Kerala and will end up collecting more than 35 crore in total as per the estimates now.

Pathemari Collection Report – 9 cr+ in 33 days

Mammootty starrer film named Pathemari directed by Salim Ahammad is already hailed as one of the best films released this year and one of the best in Mammootty’s career as well. The film had got great critical reception from all corners and Mammootty’s fabulous performance was the finest aspect of the film as well. Salim Ahammad once again showed that he is a class apart with his great scripting and direction. But we have to say that the total great word of mouth is not transformed in to box office collections. As the film is grossed only around 9 crore from its 33 day run in Kerala.

Pathemari is a winner in the sense that films like this which is more of a class film without any mass masala elements got this fair amount of collection from box office. The high budget causes the collection looks feeble. But at the same time it is really a concerning fact that a film with such great mouth publicity does not get a collection as it deserves. The film still running with average collections and will end up as a break even venture.

Mammootty is having a mixed year with a super success named Bhaskar the rascal and average hits like Fireman and Pathemari. He had two disasters as well this year with Acha Din and Uttopiayile Rajavu failed quite miserably at box office as well. But the class performance in Pathemari will make people forget about all the past failures as it was such a strong performance from him. Still the star value or the crowd pulling capacity of the actor is in question as critics says that if he can’t bring people to cinema halls even after a film like Pathemari got that much positive response, then how can he guarantee a minimum risk factor when he does a commercial potboiler..?

He will have another release this year named Puthiya Niyamam directed by A K Sajan and the performance of it in the box office will be very key to his stardom as well.

ALIIFF to be inaugurated by legendary film maker Shyam Benegal

All Lights India International Film Festival is all set to start from this Sunday, 15th of November at Kochi and the grand festival will be inaugurated by the legendary film maker of Indian Cinema, Mr. Shyam Benegal. Along with it he will also inaugurate the much talked about much awaited Indywood Film Market as well. The function will be held at Le Meridian Hotel Kochi at 6 PM in the evening. The first film to be shown in the festival as the inaugural film of the event will be the Iranian Film directed by Jaffer Panahi which had earlier won the Golden Bear Award in Berlin International Film festival. The show will be held at Cine Polis Kochi and the time of the show will be 5 PM in the evening.

The Film festival will be 5 days long and there will be 135 films from 34 countries and they will be screened under 8 different categories as well. Cine Polis Kochi will be the center of most of the screenings and the films for children will be screened at Darbar Hall. Indywood Film Market will be centered at Le Meridian as well. The competition section of the film festival will have 50 films and the Golden Frame Awards will be given to feature film, documentaries, short films and to debutant directors as well. The jury will be headed by Iranian director Kosro Masumi. Legendary Malayalam director Adoor Gopala Krishnan will be honored there by showing his two films Anantharam and Koodiyattam there at the festival.

Cinema for care, Cinema for children, Cinema for Women, world cinema, musical films etc are the different sections along with Czech-Slovakian films, Malayalam films etc. The festival will provide opportunity for audience to interact with Bollywood director Kabir Khan, Mollywood director Lijo Jose Pellissery etc about different aspects of filmmaking, its technical and production aspects etc.

The Indywood Film Market will start with the International Film Business award given to the top film business agents, distributors etc. Celebrities from Hollywood, Bollywood and also from many regional languages from India will attend the function.

Mohanlal and Kamal Haasan will be the brand ambassadors of Malayalm and Tamil cinema respectively. Along with them, Venkitesh, Kalki Kocheline, Subodh Bhave, Prasoonjith Chatterjee, Kicha Sudeep, Manju Warrier, Nikki Galrani etc also taking part in this film festival as representatives of different regions and sections. The Indywood Film Market will provide a global platform for Indian films. FEFKA , the technician’s association of Mollywood cinema is also a part of organizing this with Aliiff and Indywood.

Major Ravi is all set to be back with a bang after the comeback he got through the average success and critical appreciation of his film Picket 43 starring Prithviraj, which released this year early part. But this time he got the biggest star in Mollywood in his team as he is doing film with the most favorite actor of his. Yes, you all guessed right, it is Mohanlal who will be playing the lead role in Major Ravi’s film.

But the most interesting factor is that there will be two films this team will be doing next year or so. One film will be starting next year March, which will be based a story related to Indian Army in the 1971 India-Pakistan War. And the other one will be a family story and the highlight of this film will be the comeback of one of the most popular screen writer Mollywood had ever seen. Yes, John Paul is coming back to writing with this film and he had almost completed the script as well as per reports.

The first film will be based on the life of two army officers and also focuses on the relation between them. The shoot of the film will be in the deserts of Rajasthan. It will have war sequences as well at the same time not a full war film. Mohanlal will be playing double role in this film.

The second film of this team will be a family entertainer written by John Paul. Mohanlal will be playing triple role in this film and it tells about an incident that happens in a family which destroys all the happiness in that family. In the first half we may feel that this could be the perfect family but in the second half the film will take a turn and it will make us feel that no family will be cursed with such a bad situation. Major Ravi said that it will be an emotionally intense film.

Sachi’s maiden directorial venture had come to theaters in Kerala today and getting mixed response from all corners. As per earlier response it seems that Prithviraj may get his third consecutive success this year and Sachi will get his debut directorial venture as a success as well. It is too early to predict the success of failure of the film but we can said that Prithviraj’s character created by Sachi is durely won the hearts of the audience. Prithviraj had won the hearts of Malayalees with his cool lover boy act. The character named Shanthanu was safe in his hands. Now, director Sachi himself says that the hero character Shanthanu in the film was really for Prithviraj as it naturally suited him.

The character named Shanthanu in this film is one who discharged from Navy due to a love affair of him with the daughter of his commanding officer. Then he becomes a diving instructor and comes to Lakshadweep. For doing that role of diving instructor, Prithviraj had trained a lot in sea diving as wanted to do that role without any dupes. He had become an expert and was become ready enough to go to 30 meter depth in the sea without oxygen tube.

And added to that he and cameraman Sujith Vasudev got the prestigious certificate from the popular Australian agency with regard to professional diving before the completion of the shoot. That professional association of diving instructors (PADI) is considered as one of the most popular and important agency in this regard. They got grade one certificate as well.

There is another interesting fact about the film as well that the script of this film was earlier stolen. Sachi don’t even have the copy of the script of this film with him. Later luckily he got back the script and that’s how this film came to celluloid. The title makes us remind about epic love of Salim and Anarkali. Sachi said that they want to go and pray at the grave of Anarkali but can’t be able to go there as it was in Lahore, Pakistan.

This Christmas season will be an interesting one as we are in to see a unique box office fight in Malayalam cinema this season. It is not between the Super stars of Mollywood, Mammootty and Mohanlal. Even though there are films from Nivin Pauly and Dulquer Salmaan, the fight is not between them which makes things interesting. The box office fight will be between none other than popular actor Dileep and his Ex-wife Manju Warrier. Dileep film and Manju Warrierstarrer film is coming face to face at box office this season and it is sure that the viewers will have great interest see who wins in this battle.

Dileep’s film named Two Countries directed by Shafi is confirmed on this Christmas season. Mamta Mohandas is playing the female lead in this film and most of the parts in this film is shot in Canada. On the other hand Manju Warrier and Sanoop Santhosh starrer flick named Jo and the Boy will also release in this Christmas season. This film is directed by Rojin Thomas. He had written the script of the film as well. Rojin Thomas is one of the two directors who had made Philips and Monkey Pen and as per reports almost the whole crew behind that film is worked in JO and the Boy as well.

Two countries is the film in which director Shafi is making his third association with actor Dileep. Their previous association was Kalyana Raman and Marykkundoru Kunjaad and both of them were super successes at box office. So with this film, Shafi looking forward to the third consecutive success with Dileep. Dileep also needs a big success as it is eluding him for the past one and half year or so. His last big success was last year’s Vishu film Ring Master which was directed by Shafi’s elder brother Rafi, who was one among the Rafi-Mecartin duo.

Manju Warrier is coming after the great appreciation she got from her role in Aashiq Abu directorial Rani Padmini even though the film did do well at box office.

Vedalam crossed 50 cr mark in just 3 days !

Thala Ajith is making this Deewali a Thala Deewali for sure as his Deewali release named Vedalam, directed by Siva is proved to be a money spinner at box office. The mixed reviews it got does not seems to be affected the collection of the film. From the first day it had got a worldwide collection around 22 crore rupees and from Tamil Nadu alone it had grossed rupees 15 crore rupees. That was a new record for the opening day collection in Tamil Nadu as well.

On the way it had broken Kaththi (2014) and Linga (2014) of Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay and Super Star Rajinikanth respectively. The second day Tamil Nadu collection is said to be above 10 crore plus rupees even after the bad weather condition prevailing in that State.

The second day total collection worldwide was around 20 crore rupees and in third day it had reportedly grossed around 17 crore from worldwide. Thus as per the latest analysis, the film had grossed around 58-59 crores from just three days. The flick has been doing great in overseas market as well and it is that good show along with Tamil Nadu collection that helped it to gross nearly 60 crores from worldwide.

This is the best box office performance of Ajith film in its first 3 days. Trade pandits is of the opinion that if it goes like this way the film may cross the record of Vijay’s flick Kaththi as well.

Anarkali Review

Anarkali, one of the much awaited Prithviraj film of this year had released today and as you all know it is the maiden venture of writer Sachi as a director. Sachi who came to Mollywood with his partner Sethu, had written a lot of successful film in Mollywood with him and also alone. His individual scripts are successful as well and the biggest success was Mohanlal starrer Joshiey film named Run Baby Run released in 2012. Sachi had written the screenplay of this film as well. Prithviraj who is going through the best phase of his career with back to back blockbusters is also looking forward to get the 3rd consecutive success of this year with this flick Anarkkali. Because of the recent successes of this actor, the expectation level for this film is damn too high as well.

The plot of the film revolves around two characters named Shanthanu and Nadira played by Prithviraj and Priyal Gor. The film begins with an eloping happens in Shanthanu’s family and thereby introduces Shanthanu’s love story through it. He is after searching for his lost lover all over India, was on its way to Lakshadweep as he got an information that his lover’s brother is working as a navy officer there. There his close friend Zachariah also working in a coast guard office and Shanthanu wants to know about what happened to his lover Nadira by meeting her brother Naseed there. Then the flick shows us what happens to Shanthanu’s attempt to meet Naseeb, his flash back about Nadira etc.

The film which is touted as a romantic-thriller moving mostly as a musical romantic movie. As a director Sachi had made a good debut but not an awesome one. Because the length of the film is on a higher side and that makes its lagging at many parts. Specially, in second half the film the series of song sequences really dropped the pace of the film even though songs are good. Sachi had failed a little bit as a writer as he failed to narrate the romantic story in its full intensity even though the story has all elements in it to make it an epic love story. The climax part was saved by Biju Menon’s performance as the climax was too predictable as well.

We have to say that the technical side of the film had done a fantabulous Job. Sujith Vasudev’s DOP once again proved that this man will go miles and miles from here as he had virtually brought all the beauty of Lakshadweep to us. The underwater visuals has been amazing as well which had given a visual spectacle for the viewers. Renjan Abraham’s editing was a bit scratchy and at many parts it gave a feel of incompleteness. At many places lip synching of the actors seems not right as well and it was very much visible in the first song starring Miya. Vidyasagar’s music was melodious and really built the romantic mood in the film strongly.

In Performance Prithviraj once again shines as Shanthanu and at many places he was stunning with his screen presence. But there is also a feel that he is repeating his mannerisms and specially the style of his smile which he using in every film of his without any change. That sometime makes us feel that he is at parts Prithviraj himself not the character. Biju Menon as Zachariah stole the show as well with his witty one liners and great comic timing. He fabulous in the last part of the film with his superb show.

Miya George and Priyal Gore who played female leads in the film had done a matured job And Priyal gore had made her debut here with a good performance. And other actors like Kabir Bedi who played the father of Nadira, Sudev Nair, Renji Panicker, Suresh Krishna, Samskrithi Shenoy etc also done very well. Directors like Major Ravi, Shyama Prasad, Madhupal, VK Prakash also done a part in this film as actors and they too showed us that they can convincingly as well. Mahupal and Major Ravi had shown this long back and many times before.

The film does not have much publicity and the only hype it created was due to the good time Prithviraj was having. Anarkali is just a onetime watchable feel good flick and we have to tell you all that, watch this film without much expectations and please don’t think about the impact made by Ennu Ninte Moideen and Amar Akbar Anthony.
