Dulquer Salmaan replaced by Nani in Mani Ratnam film

It was something great for the fans of Dulquer Salmaan and Malayalee film lovers when they heard that our Young star Dulquer Salmaan again going to play the male lead in the film directed by Mani Ratnam. He had already done a film under Mani Ratnam directorial named OK Kanmani and received good appreciation from all over. That film ended the streak of failures for Maniratnam as well even though it was not a big success.

Later reports came in that this new film by Mani Ratnam will have two heroes and the one chosen to play the other hero character is Tamil star Karthi. The film said to be a revenge story and Nithya Menon and Keerthi Suresh had ropes in to play the female leads as well. Earlier reports heard that Shruthi Haasan or Aishwarya Rai may be roped in to play the female leads. Then it heard that the film is postponed to next year. And the latest news is that because of the postponement of the starting of the film from this December to next year, Dulquer Salmaan had withdrawn from the project and Telugu actor Naveen aka Nani replaced Dulquer in this Maniratnam film.

The reports says that at first the film is planned only as a Tamil film. But later Mani Ratnam had decided to make it in Telugu as well. But the financer who can finance the Telugu version as well is not found and so they decided to postpone the shooting of the film to next year. But Dulquer Salmaan has got some offers from Malayalam and he had come in a situation where he had to choose between Maniratnam project and the Malayalam offers. So as per reports he opted out from the Mani Ratnam Project.

Sources says that Telugu actor Nani who became popular through SS Rajamouli film Eega met Mani Ratnam in Chennai few days back and finalized on his participation in the project replacing Dulquer Salmaan. It was Nani who lend voice to Dulquer’s character in OK Kanmani when it was dubbed to Telugu. Karthi also seems to be busy with his other projects but will be available for this Mani Ratnam project as soon as it gets ready for take -off.

Prithviraj speaks about Amar Akbar Anthony

Amar Akbar Anthony, the upcoming Malayalam film which is creating hype as the first directorial venture of popular television and cine artist Nadirsha and also due to the multi star cast it has with Prithviraj, Indrajith and Jayasurya is all set for a grand release next week. The audio launch of the film had took place at the IMA hall at Kochin yesterday in the presence of popular actor and great friend of Nadirsha, Dileep and Nivin Pauly. Other artists in the film such as Prithviraj, Jayasurya and Namitha Pramod were also present in the audio launch as well. In that audio launch function, Prithviraj spoke about his experience of working in this film and his honest opinion about what is his hopes about this flick.

Prithviraj said that when he heard the script of this film almost one and a half year ago he had a visual in his mind about how would be this film after the completion of the shoot. But after the shoot of the film, when he saw it he become very happy that the flick had went beyond what he imagined and expected before. That rarely happens in cinema. Prithviraj said that no one can predict how the viewers will respond to the film when it comes to the theater except god and then the audience themselves. So he is not telling or predicting anything about the box office promises of the film. But as an artist he is very happy about the outcome and it was a great pleasure to work in the film.

He said that working with Jayasurya and Indrajith is always the most comfortable feeling for him as an actor and he felt that comfort working in this too. He appreciated Nadirsha as a director and the efforts he put in to this film and said that whatever may be the box office stats of this film, Nadirsha will become a busy director in Mollywood for sure.

Prithviraj don’t forget to praise the screen writers of this film Bibin George and Vishnu Unnikrishnan saying that they know the pulse of the audience and will have the talent go miles from here.

Kanal, the M Padmakumar flick is all set to release on October 22nd. The film touted as a revenge thriller has the most valuable star in Malayalam in the lead and you all know that it is the Universal star Mohanlal. Along with him the flick had a great star cast of Anoop Menon, Honey Rose, Sheelu Abraham, Pratap Pothen, Atul Kulkarni etc.

But as per reports the films tried to make use of Mohanlal, the actor than Mohanlal the star. There has been a criticism against Mohanlal in recent times that he is not doing films which offers him the scope to perform and use his enormous skill as a pure actor. He is wasting his talent by doing certain craps which is made in the name of entertainment. Most of those films made good money at box office owes to his star value which is unbelievably bigger than any actors in this M-Town now. But that also denying us the chance to see the Complete Actor Mohanlal who mesmerized us with his heavenly acting skills and that which made him probably the greatest ever actor who had graced the silver screen in Indian cinema history.

Before the shooting of the film director M Padma Kumar said that through this film he want to challenge Mohanlal as an actor than a star. Challenging Mohanlal as an actor is close to impossible that we all know. But giving him a character that is not a cake walk for him is very much important as well. Padma Kumar has done that as per reports in Kanal.

Mohanlal is playing a character which an antagonistic touch in this film and that will be a welcome change for him as an actor and the same for the audience as well. Mohanlal had to know that his fans as well as film lovers want to play more class roles and characters than Peruchazhi kind of roles and people really want to say that this is our Mohanlal who is unarguably one of the best in the world. Siddique-Fahad Fazil film dropped ?

It has been a great news for the fans of Fahad Fazil when they hear the news that hit maker Siddique is doing his next film with Fahad Fazil in the lead. The news also said that Siddique has started the writing of the screenplay of the film and the shooting will start after the release of Siddique written Lal directorial Dileep project King Liar’s release in this coming December. But now a rumor coming in that the film is dropped due to some unknown reasons and sources says that the report is coming from trustable sources as well.

The flick is all set to be financed by Khais, who is a popular financer and also the brother of director Fazil who you all know the father of Fahad Fazil. The reason for the dropping of this project is unknown and there are some reports says that Siddique will do the film with the same script with another young actor in M-Town otherwise will concentrate on his next Bollywood film which will be either the remake of his recent Malayalam films Bhaskar The Rascal or Ladies And Gentleman starred by Mammootty and Mohanlal respectively.

Fahad Fazil is going through a terrible period of his career and there are only flops are coming his way. Even films got above average response from audience bombing in box office and he needs a real solid hit to come back to his best. If the film with Siddique is happened then it may become a great come back for him as Siddique film never fails at box office whatever may be the word of mouth. His recent films like Ladies And Gentleman and Bhaskar The Rascal are the solid proofs for that. Both those films got mixed reviews and many negative reviews as well. But still got great business at box office.

Fahad needs a real hit now. He is teaming up with Joshiey as well with a film named Singles and he is currently doing a film named Maheshinte Prathikaram which is the directorial debut of Dileesh Pothen. Hoping that this news will remain as a rumor and the Siddique- Fahad project will materialize as expected.

Mammootty’s Pallickal Narayanan is the hero of the story whose NRI life starts at his younger days and he is one among the first malayalees who went to Gulf countries to revive his poor family from ruins and make them stand in with their head held high in the society. He succeeds in that but he never get his own share of happiness and acknowledgement even from his own family members. Always denial and separation from family is that what he got. Many time he thought of not going back after came to his home. But the life struggle and situation is such that he is forced to go back to the struggling life for his family. At last his life ends there as well but he was happy in his heart because of the well being of his family and proud of himself for being the reason for the good condition of his family members.

Pathemari comes to the shore and many people crossed that shore and made a life out of it. Like that this film is come to the shore of the hearts of Malayalees and capturing the hearts of each and every person who watches it. The performance of Mammootty in this flick as Pallickal Narayanan is just amazing.

We cannot predict the box office success of the film as we saw that many good films bombed at box office recently and only commercial potboilers getting that success. But one thing is sure that Pallickal narayanan will remain in our heart for a long time from now on.

The recent news that really made waves in social media is that Universal Star Mohanlal is acting in the SS Rajamouli project named Garuda which will be made using 1000 crores as per reports. Even though both Mohanlal and SS Rajamouli not confirmed it the news is still doing its round with some updates as well. The new upadtes says that Mohanlal is booked for 6 months for the film with 15 crore remuneration and he will essay the role of bheema in the film which is set in the background of Mahabharatha. The filming will begin in 2017 and release will be in 2019 as well.

But there was once a project SS Rajamouli planned with Mohanlal but later dropped due to unknown reasons. It was also made a news some time back us. But nobody believed it. But it now truth comes out and it was indeed a true news. The art director of Baahubali Manu Jagat had posted the sketches he and Sabu Cyril made for that Mohanlal- SS Rajamouli dropped project through his Facebook page.

It was in the year 2002 that the project was planned and Manu Jagat with Sabu Cyril had made some sketches for the film as well. But later when the film is dropped due to some unknown reasons Sabu Cyril had used that sketch for a song sequence in the Priyadarshan directorial flick named Kilichundan Mambazham. In that song Mohanlal performed as a warrior. SS Rajamouli also planned a film related with story of a warrior in which Mohanlal playing the lead role. But that does not materialize then because unlike this time huge budget films are very rare and more risky in India that time.

Manu Jagat was working as an assistant of Sabu Cyril at that time. Now there is a hope that SS Rajamouli will be teamed up with Mohanlal in future to fulfill his dream to work with this legend in Indian cinema. He once said that Mohanlal is his favourite actor and he is a huge fan of Mohanlal’s skills as an actor. He also said that he definitely want to do a film with him one day.

Rudhramadevi Review

After Baahubali another magnum opus has come to the screens from Telugu film industry and it was Rudhramadevi. The flick which is made using more than 100 crore rupees is touted as the first ever historical stereoscopical Three Dimensional film made in India. The flick has been directed by the noted Telugu director Guna Shekhar and he had written the story and screenplay of the film as well. Apart from that he is one of the financers of this big budget movie as well. Most popular south Indian actress Anushka Shetty is playing the title role in this film and has a bunch of popular actors along with her is been playing key roles in this flick. They are Allu Arjun, Rana Daggubati, Prakash Raj, Suman, Nithya Menon etc. The film has been made in Telugu language as well along with Tamil and dubbed in Malayalam, Hindi and Kannada as well.

The film’s story is taken from history as it tells about the life of Rudrama Devi one of the prominent rulers of Kakatiya Dynasty. She is one of the few queens who rules in India. Kakatiya kingdom is waiting for the birth of their ruler. But against the hope of the birth of a male heir, a female heir is born. To protect the kingdom from the attacks of the enemies the king decided to conceal the truth that the child born is a girl. Instead he made public announcement that the new born baby is a girl. And the actual Rudhramadevi is disguised in front of the people as Rudra Simha.

The film shows the war she had to fought with her enemies to protect her country and at the same time her efforts to conceal her true self from others. The director and script writer Guna Shekhar had tried to give a real visual spectacle with this flick. But all went in vein because of the miserable narration of the story. The fact remains that it is no way near Baahubali in its VFX and setting. No need to compare this to Baahubali as it is not as big as Bahubali in its making and budget. Ilaya Raja’s music was one of the highlights of the film and at many places it went well. Ajayan Vincent’s direction of Photography was stupendous and his contribution to the whole effect of the film was amazing. National award winner Sreekar Prasad once again made his presence felt by crisp editing of the film. The VFX team behind the film tried hard but the VFX not raised up to the mark and at some places it looked too much as well.

The negative about the film is that the dialogues are poor and too much dramatic. It creates more of a laugh than thrill. It failed big time to move the audience with the story. Anushka Shetty is the real central pillar of this film with an astonishing performance of hers. Really she can be called the lady super star of South India from now on and she almost carried the film on her own shoulder despite the presence of many leading male stars in it. Allu Arjun probably tried too much as Gona gana reddy and looked not at all convincing. Rana Daggubati once again sizzled after his negative role in Bahubali. All other actors including Prakash raj, Vikaramjeet, Krishnan Raju, Suman, Nithya Menon, Adithya Menon, Brahmanandam done their portion perfectly as well.

But the poor screenplay and direction made the film a debacle. VFX was also a let down. If you watch this film remembering Baahubali you are going to run out of the theatre with a scream.
