Pathemari Review

Today’s big release in Malayalam film industry was the Mammootty starrer flick named Pathemari directed by Salim Ahamed who had won the national award with his first film Aadaminte Makan Abu. This is his second film along with Mammootty in the lead and raised quite a bit of expectation among the spectators as well before the release. The film was set release in the Onam season or may be before that. But some legal problems made it postponed to September 18 first and then to this very date of October 9. Mammootty fans and film lovers had to wait for the film quite a long time as well. The film has been distributed by Eros international all over.

Pathermari dealt with the life of Non Resident Indians specially who works and lives in the gulf countries. The protagonist of the story is Pallickal Narayanan played by Mammootty and the flick travel through different periods of his life starts from around 1960’s. Narayanan who went to gulf in a pathemari at his younger days had to struggle throughout his life for his family till his death. But still he couldn’t make a peaceful life out of it. Pathemari tells us that story of his life struggle.

It have to say that Salim Ahamed as a writer and director did a fantastic job in making yet another movie which has a certain level of class and quality. Unlike his previous film he tried to make this more commercial as well but have to doubt how much that effort had succeeded. Because while the emotional depth of the character Pallickal narayanan and his family gives strength to the plot the same emotional elements works as an overdose as well at places which makes the film lagging at places.

The technical side of the film brilliant with Madhu ambat’s DOP stands out from the rest. The sound design by Rasool Pookkutty is good and cannot be termed as extra ordinary although. It may be because of the average only sound system of our theaters. Bijiapal’s music was really went well with the theme of the film and it was good for our ears as well. Vijay Sankar’s cuts was also nice and hope that the lag came in the film due to the theme and setting of the film and not because any negative came from the editor of the film. We are saying so because sometimes that may also happen.

And performance level in the one which had really gave the film the above mentioned high class quality. Mammootty as Salim Ahamed said was missing in the film. There is only Pallickal Narayanan. He was superb in his portrayal of the different mental conflicts and situations through which that character went through in the story. But have to say that with only limited role to play the performance of actor Siddique as Velayudhan is the best when compared to all others as his was one of the career best from him and really one step ahead of all.

Salim Kumar, Sreenivasan, joy Mathew, Saju navodaya all did good job and Jewel mary was also did a very mature and brilliant job as the wife of pallickal narayanan. Siddique’s son Shaheen also made his debut memorable with a neat performance in the film. Pathemari is an emotionally touching film which can move your heart. It’s not an entertainer but film that makes you see the life some people lives on whose efforts we are depending on. A film for the people who loves class and emotional films.

Shah Rukh Khan advises fans to behave and stop abusing

The Baadshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan popularly known as SRK has come up with a tweet in Twitter asking his fans to behave. This tweet came up because of the fan fights that happen relentlessly in social networking sites. The subject of all these fan fights is the other actors or artists in the same field. As the Khan’s are back in friendship some people still not believe it and are still poking on their friendship. Shah Rukh is active in Twitter tweeting about his updates, movie promotions etc this is new for the followers that he has come up with a tweet advising the fans who make a fuss out of his colleagues in the field.

Shah Rukh also states that everyone has their right to post and tweet things but being offensive and abusive is not the way. He has requested his fans not to have fan fights or abuse other movies. He also said that being his fan no one should hurt other’s feelings, if they keep doing it they won’t be my fans. This is not new for Twitter as before Shah Rukh, Salman Khan had also came up with a tweet requesting his fans to stop abusing in social networking sites and degrading others.

Salman Khan then, also said that if the fans fail to do so he would even leave Twitter. Both these superstars request shows that even if they remain calm and supportive to each other in the field, their fans continue to be active in fan fights abusing others. As this fan fights continues to be in fully active, the actors are getting friendly in order to stop this behaviour of the public who love them.

These type of requests has already taken place earlier in other film industries too that the fans abuse and degrading is numerous in social networking platforms. It is actually the fans who behave without thinking as they think they have the right to do so but actors’ request is to be selfless and think before they post. As every action has a reaction, the abuse and degrading will continue its run that it will be an out of control situation.Many will be affected by these so called comments which arise in between this meaningless fan fights.

Vedhalam teaser set record number of likes within hours

Today we reported that Vedhalam teaser is making waves in social media and YouTube. The flick starring Thala Ajith, directed by Siva is all set for Diwali release next month and it had raised the expectation level to sky high with a terrific teaser. Thala Ajith who did not have a major success after his blockbuster film named Mankatha which released years ago is said to be all set for a grand comeback with this film. The teaser of the flick had crossed 76 K likes within 8 hours of its release and broke Ilayathalapathy Vijay starrer Puli’s trailer record. Puli had the same number of likes but for almost 1 month. Now the teaser of Vedhalam had crossed another milestone as well. It had become the fastest and only Indian film teaser to hit 1 lakh likes within 19 hours.

There are many teasers who hit 1 Lakh likes in the YouTube. But no one did it in 19 hours and that record is now to this teaser of Vedhalam. The fans of Thala Ajith had expected a good teaser and they got a terrific one. Even neutral film lovers loving the teaser and great opinion is going around about the teaser.

There is another rumour which is also spreading about the teaser today. It said that Ajith’s body shown in a part of the teaser was made out of computer graphics and it was not his own. In a single frame of that teaser when they showed Thala Ajith without a jacket, his ears are missing and some allegation came out that they used VFX to make his body shape perfect.

Thala Ajith usually do not care much about the shape of his body and he is not the one like Suriya who maintains his body and go to gym for getting a six pack. Anyway that rumour will die down very soon as no one is not much clear about that scene and how it was shot in the film. And that missing ear problem is also only in a single shot and from the next frame his ears are perfectly okay.

This time it was actor Mammukkoya who became the victim of such news spreading in online medias like Whatsapp and facebook. From yesterday morning a news began to spread through whatsapp that famous Malayalam actor Mamukkoya is dead in a private hospital at Kozhikkod. And they said the reason for death as Kidney failure. As always fake news spread in a speed of wild fire and reached to Mamukkoya as well. Mamukkoya was at Wayanad while the news reached to him and many people were called him after the news spread.

Mamukkoya himseld said to the media in a funny manner that he is not yet dead and when that happens he himself will update about it. The terrible thing is that when this fake news spread, even popular medias were posted it expressing their condolence without even checking the authenticity of the news. If it goes like this way , a day will come that we cannot even trust a single news that is coming from our medias. Even the true news will be ignored by people thinking that they all are framed just like they did in the past.

Mamukkoya is healthy as of now and he only has problems related to his old age and nothing more. He is still active in his acting career as well. These type of fake news about the death of film artists are not rare but usual here. Recently they killed Salim Kumar like this type of framed news when his perfectly alright and they also faked the death of actress Kanaka as well not so long ago. At last she had to call a press meet to tell that she is alive.

This is not only in Kerala it is in all part of the country as well and sometimes have to see as a worldwide phenomenon. The impact of social Media is so much that so uses it to the bad effect possible. It will reach to the people within minutes in this world now and that is their trump card.

Pranav Mohanlal is already become highly popular among malayalees even without making his debut as a hero in any films. Even though he acted in few Malayalam films and even won the state award for his performance, it was only as a child artist. Actor Dileep in a recent media interview said that while he was working with Pranav Mohanlal in Jeethu Joseph’s Life of Josootty in which Pranav is an assistant director of Jeethu, he realized that Pranav has got amazing talent in him and once during the shoot he asked Pranav whether he is interested in acting or not. If he had interest this is the right time to make an entry. But Pranav did gave a reply and only gave smile as a reply to that question. Dileep said that he said the same thing about Pranav to his father Mohanlal as well. Mohanlal told that it will be Pranav’s own decision to act or not I films and as far as he knows his son, Pranav had not planned anything like that as of now.

Pranav came in the news recently when he became the assistant director of Jeethu Joseph in the Tamil version of Drishyam named Papanasham which has universal Hero Kamal Haasan in the lead. Kamal Haasan after working with Pranav said that he had all qualities of his father like simplicity and utmost dedication to his work. He has all the talent in him to become what he want in cinema says Kamal Haasan.

Jeethu Joseph also said the same and he said that Pranav can become a great director as he had that enormous talent in him to make great films. Jeethu said that Pranav had something in mind and he is on the way to that goal. It will be a great thing if Pranav makes his debut as a hero in Mollywood and it will be greater than that if he becomes a director and direct a film with his own father Mohanlal who is by far the best actor our country has ever produced.

The two much awaited glimpses of two films were released all over. One is from Kollywood and another is from Malayalam film industry. Both are much awaited flicks as well. There is a similarity between both the films and it is that the film have the best actors ever saw by that industry in the lead roles. Now you can surely understand what we are talking about. Yes, we are talking about the second trailer of the Tamil film Thoongavanam starred by Universal Hero Kamal Haasan and the teaser of the Malayalam film Kanal starred by Universal Star and Complete Actor Mohanlal.

Both the trailer and teaser has got great response from the film lovers and fans in the social media platforms and for them these glimpses has made their expectations raise to great levels. Same is the case with famous director/writer/critic B Unnikrishnan as well. B Unnikrishnan told in his Facebook status after seeing the above mentioned trailer and teaser that it looks very promising and what excites him the most is that both Mohanlal and Kamal Haasan looks at their vintage best from the scenes in the trailer and teaser.

Thoongavanam is the official Tamil remake of a French film Sleepless nights which is of thriller genre. Kanal is the film written by Suresh Kumar and directed by Padma Kumar and surprisingly it also comes in the category of a film in thriller genre. In Kanal, Mohanlal is said to be playing a character with some negative shades and it is that which excites people as he is a master in doing such characters. The teaser gives a glimpse of his out of the world acting skills as well and gave a small example before the audience that something very special is coming up in terms of performance from Mohanlal.

Thoongavanam is also giving the same feel that after Papanasam, Kamal Haasan is once again all set to give a performance which will enthrall us. He is in with a different look as well in this film which is already a hit among his fans. Anyway when the two greatest actors ever grace the silver screens in India coming with something different it will be a treat for the audience for sure and we hope so.

Mega star Mammootty is now in the sets of his upcoming film tentatively titled as Puthiya Niyamam directed and Scripted by A K Sajan. The shooting of the film had already started in the month of August and people already knows that Mammootty is playing an advocate named Louis Pothen who is practicing in family court. He has married from another caste and his wife’s name is Vasuki played by Nayanthara. Louis Pothen is a communist and a respected man in society. He is the resident association president of his living area as well. Louis Pothen is famous for giving public speeches about various social issues as well. Now another face of Louis Pothen also coming out and reports says that Mammootty’s Louis Pothen will be seen as a film reviewer as well in this film.

Lois Pothen Nariman is a usual guest at discussion tables at different tele vision channels and he is a renowned intellectual as well. He is a great intellectual when it comes to films and film reviews and he is presenting a program named ‘Kathrika’ in a television channel which reviews films. In that program he analyses a film minutely and it was just like cutting the film to very tiny parts with a scissor and then analyze each part with hard standards.

Seems like A K Sajan is in a mood to give a dig at the tele vision reviewers who almost kills a film by reviewing it with high intellectual points and if this portion went well with the audience then it will be one of the much applaud getting scene in the whole film.

Louis Pothen’s wife played by Nayan Thara named Vasuki is a Brahmin girl and a kadhakali artist too. The film focuses on the family issues thaey have along with some professional issue Pothen had to face. Director A K Sajan is making it as an out and out thriller with all elements to entertain you all. Mammootty’s different look in this film already made fans excited about this project and the release date is not yet confirmed.

Is Ajith’s body in Vedhalam teaser made of VFX ? Rumor spreading..!

Yesterday the much awaited teaser of Thala Ajith starrer flick Vedhalam directed by Siva had released and got tremendous reception from the people. The teaser had already broken some YouTube viewers number record and Vijay’s Puli teaser likes was bowed down in front of Vedhalam teaser like just in 8 hours. That was also a made the headlines of a news. But now another news popped up which is a rumor indeed. The rumor is that Ajith’s body in a particular scene at the last part of the teaser was made out of visual effects and it was not his original body as per the rumor.

They news makers claims that in a particular shot in that scene when the body of ajith is in the frame his ears seems missing. They saying that while they were dome the Graphics works on his body the two ears of him got masked and that is what happened. But when we play the next frame the eras are visible as well. We still don’t know about the whole scene as it was just small teaser. If the scene was shot using green screen technology or something like that it can happen that some imperfection may come while doing the CG work on that particular frame or scene.

But the rumor is spreading very fast saying that it was not Ajith’s original body which looks fit but it created out of computer graphics to make him look fit. We cannot tell anything authentically as it only for a single frame and we still don’t know what is happening in that scene as a whole. Then only we can say proper judgement on these kind of allegations.
