Malayalam Film Industry responds to Rajeev Ravi Interview
As we have reported earlier, Rajeev Ravi had made some negative comments about Sreenivasan, Mani Ratnam and Tarantino in an interview with South Live. His interview has not gone well with many people and they have wasted no time in retaliating through their Facebook posts. Rajeev Ravi had remarked that the movie maker should set the script on fire before he starts making the movie.
Sreenivasan’s son Vineeth Srinivasan made a sarcastic observation on this comment on his Facebook page. He noted that he happened to hear that it is being taught how to make a movie without having proper script. He added that the idea is revolutionary since one would not have to spend a good proportion of one’s life writing script for the movie. He continued to write that he would like to master this technique along with the technique of drawing pictures without walls and building houses with floors.
Many others including director Jude Anthany Joseph, Aju Varghese and Nivin Pauly have joined Vineeth Sreenivasan and have posted their thoughts with regard to the situation on their Facebook page .Jude Anthany has also addressed the situation . He openly stated that he looks upon Sreenivasan, Tarantino and Mani Ratnam as his idols. He wrote on his Facebook that he will not be much bothered even if he is condemned for taking commercial movies. He said that his top priority is to ensure that financier of his movie retrieves the money he has spent on the movie. He also posted a comment that Rajeev Ravi has filmed numerous scenes for the movie Annayum Rasoolum in different parts of Kochi without permission and this makes him the real fraud.
Other film personalities have also displayed their support to Sreenivasan as well. Nivin Pauly has changed his cover photo and his new cover photo goes like this: written and directed by Sreenivasan. Aju Varghese has also given a mention to Ravi Ravi interview. He started his post post by saying that he has read an interview. He jotted down that he is not sure if he has misunderstood it and that he could not help but feel sympathy for the interviewee. He also asked if ridiculing people who have proven themselves in their profession is the right living style that the youngsters should adopt.
A new romantic pair in the M-town: Dulquer Salmaan and Isha Ranganath
Another actress coming from outside Kerala is gearing up for making her debut in Mollywood. This time its Kannada actress Isha Ranganath who is all geared up to make her debut in Malayalam. She will be cast opposite young star of Mollywood, Dulquer Salmaan in the upcoming film which is to be directed by Vipin Raj. The title of the film is not decided yet. Dulquer Salmaan is now busy in the sets of Master craftsman of Indian cinema Maniratnam’s movie ‘Okay Kanmani’.
Dulquer also completed his work in the film ‘100 days of love’ directed by Jenuse who is the son of veteran director Kamal. In ‘100 days of love’, Nithya Menon plays the female lead and the film will is all set to release in the coming weeks. After completing the Mani Ratnam film, Dulquer will join the sets of Vipin Raj movie. The movie will go on floors from this December. The female lead Isha Ranganath is now busy in the location of her Kannada film ‘Deevaravni Biduguru’ in which Akul Balaji is laying the male lead.
Isha ranganath told to the media that she will be playing a very interesting character in Vipin raj film along with Duluer Salmaan and she did not disclose much about the character details to the media. Isha also said that she is studying Malayalam language now as she does not know it. She want to prepare for the role as good as she can and said that she is very excited and anxious to act with Dulquer Salmaan who had already given a number of hits in mollywood. She told to the media that even though she wants to act in different languages , her first preference will always with kannada films as she is a girl from Banglore. Isha ranganath had done a telugu film as well in her relatively small career till now.
Dulquer Salmaan is now fresh from the successes of his Films such as Bangalore Days and Vikramadithyan and also from the appreciation he got for the film ‘Njan’ will look to continue with his winning streak with films such as ‘100 days of love’. ‘Okey Kanmani’ and coming Vipin Raj film.

As per the latest reports, Mithra Kurian will take the wedding vows in the near future. Her bridegroom is Williams Francis who is a renowned keyboard artist. They have been in a relationship for a very long time. They made the decision to tie the knot after their parents gave them the green signal. They were introduced to each other through a stage show. They became close friends within a short time. This friendly relationship opened the way for the romance.

She also participated in the movie Ladies and Gentlemen where she appeared as one of the three central female characters along with Mamta Mohandas and Padmapriya. She also tried her hand at Tamil movies as well.

She also was involved as a judge in the reality shows such as Dance Party and Mummy and me.As for Williams; he is a native of Thrissur. His father is Francis and his mother is Mercy. He has earned a name for himself in the field of music after working with the reputed names like Ouseppachan. The word coming from the inside source is that they intend to keep their marriage a private ceremony with their relatives and close friends as the only invitees. The marriage is expected to take place in January of next year. It would be interesting to see whether Mithra Kurian will take a break from movies after her marriage or not.

Rajeev Ravi’s interview sparks controversy
Rajeev Ravi has shocked the world by making controversial comments in an interview with South live. He fixed his target on the some of the respected names from the film industry such as Sreenivasan, Quentin Tarantino and Mani Ratnam.
He criticized Sreenivasan’s movies and said that Sreenivasan deals with the subject of the middle class people in his movies only for his own advantage so that he can make money out of it. While Sreenivasan makes handsome money from the movies, his movies do absolutely nothing for the betterment of the middle class people and the society. Sreenivasan was not the only victim of Rajeev Ravi’s denunciation. He upbraided Quentin Tarantino and called him a world fraud. He is not even impressed by Mani Ratnam. Rajeev Ravi feels that Mani Ratnam focuses only on the exquisiteness of his movies. He thinks that Mani Ratnam movies lack volume and is reduced into a mere visual beauty and nothing else. Therefore, Rajeev opts not to watch his movies.
He also commented on the script format and said that everyone loves to follow Western style of movie making. He said that the real movie makers do not require a particular format for the script and that they have the potentiality to organize everything in their head.They may write some points on the paper in order to ensure that they have not missed anything. The present situation is such that the assistant directors are stripped of opportunities if they are not good at using laptop or any particular software. He added that a movie maker who adheres to a particular format of script actually locks the actor in the cage of film studio.
As expected, Rajeev Ravi’s uncensored remarks have upset a lot of fans and they have expressed their resentment on the comments through Facebook and other social media. Many of them feel that Rajeev Ravi has gone out of way in his interview and that he should have spoken like a responsible man. Some fans even put forth the question as to what makes Rajeev Ravi worthy enough to make such comments on the film personalities who are held in high esteem by others.

Mega star Mammootty is always known for his open minded behavior and straight forward personality. He fears nothing to open his mind and tells what he feels without caring much about the consequences.
Now in an interview Mammootty said that he is not a perfect or completely good person as people thinks and he had his own weaknesses and bad traits in his character. The interviewer asked him about the character named ‘Venu’ he portrayed in his latest release ‘Varsham’. Venu is not a good person in the beginning of the story. But he later becomes a good man. The interviewer asked Mammootty that whether he is more like Venu in his real life also. For that question, Mammootty replied this way. Mammootty also said that he always like to give chances to new directors and new actor/actresses. And he said that he will continue to do so.
Mammootty told that in many interviews people says that at first they had a fear for Mammootty and later Mammootty become so friendly and easy to work with. Mammootty wonders why people fears him first up. He said many newcomers said this and he can’t understand why they fears him at the beginning if they know that it will be comfortable with Mammootty after some time. He said that he had no problem with anyone and always feel free and open minded to enjoy friendship with everyone. He is not that cruel or hot tempered as people thinks.
He said that he is a person who quickly become friends with others and he takes a lot of liberty with them when he become so close to them. At that time he will behave as a very normal human being. Whenever he takes too much liberty his anger will also increase with it and he cannot be able to control or cover it. It is not to hurt them but it is coming from a sense that they mean very close to him. May be his that attitude was a reason to make people fear him at the beginning. He said that he cant act in real life as he express what he feels in his mind.
Lingaa Review
Celebration begins for the die-hard fans of Rajinikanth as his movie Lingaa finally hits the theaters. The movie is a three-hour long Rajinikanth show, which is certain to leave his fans ecstatic.In addition to that, the fact that Rajinikanth is doing a double role in the movie is the icing on the cake. If you are not keen on dissecting the scene based on logic, then you are bound to be entertained by the movie.
The movie has numerous preposterous segments and supernatural climax, but the Rajinikanth effect is so predominant throughout the movie that everything else is overshadowed by his mere presence. Though the movie has usual Rajinikanth elements, K.S Ravikumar has made an attempt to present Rajinikanth in a different way and he has succeeded in doing so to a certain extent.
The plot is unfolded by the two characters played by Rajinikanth. While one of them is a historical character, the other one is from this day and age. Linga played by Rajinikanth is a notorious thief and he formulates a plan to steal from a temple. However, he happens to hear about the king Lingeswaran who relinquishes everything for the sake of his kingdom and the story heads to its core from thereon. As rumoured, the dam plays a crucial role in the movie. But, fortunately, the dam is used as a background to enhance the relevance of the main thread and has no controversial references. The movie puts forward a lot of unprecedented moments which needs to be appreciated. The movie has a lot of heart touching moments, though a few scenes are not up to the mark. To no one’s surprise, the high point of the movie is the superb acting of Rajinikanth and his unique style.
The director has taken extra care with the costumes and the vehicles used by the historical characters, especially the King. The only drawback of the movie is that some scenes put our brain to test as we find it hard to make sense out of it. Anushka has done a commendable job in the movie and her character provides the movie with some important twists. As for Sonakshi Sinha, she is okay in the movie. A.R. Rahman’s background score and music composition is another highlight of the movie. The action sequences are passable. It could have been better if they have toned down the graphic effects.
Rajinikanth proves that he is still the king of style through his performance in the movie. The movie is packed with customary Rajinikanth dialogues, which attributes to the superman like image of his character. The movie is definitely worth watching, especially if you are a Rajinikanth fan.

Rajinikanth’s Lingaa in controversy
The involvement of Rajinikanth in a movie is compelling enough to push the movie to the moon. The movie Lingaa is the latest example for this. His fans cannot wait to see him back on screen. However, Lingaa has triggered a controversy, thanks to the rumors surrounding the movie. There are some online speculations that the movie deals with the subject of Mullaperiyar dam. While there is no verification available, the rumour has gained so much attention that it is hard to overlook this rumour.
It is a well known fact that Kerala and Tamil Nadu are at variance when it comes to the authority of the dam. Both states have been indulged in legal battles in order to ensure the absolute power on the dam. They have been arguing over the safety of the dam as well. Kerala claims that the dam is no longer safe and that the dam has to be replaced with a new one immediately. On the other side, Tamil Nadu asserts that the dam is safe and that the dam does not require any kind of replacement. This has made the topic of the dam extremely sensitive. Therefore, if the rumour is true, then it could be as dangerous as playing with fire. It is likely to have a severe consequence on the acceptance of the movie in Kerala if there is any truth in the rumour.
However, as mentioned earlier, this is just a rumour and therefore, it is advisable to take it with a grain of salt. The movie was earlier taken to the court after being accused of plagiarism. Fortunately, this has not affected the release of the movie and the movie will have its release tomorrow, which also happens to be Rajinikanth’s birthday. Sonakshi Sinha plays the female protagonist in the movie. This is the first time Sonakshi Sinha is involved in a Tamil movie. Fans are excited to see how this brand new on screen couple fares in the movie.
The movie is groomed under the direction of K.S. Ravikumar. Venkatesh will finance the movie under Rockline productions. The movie is scheduled for a grand release in more than 2000 theaters. It is also to be noted that the movie will be released in more than 200 theaters in kerala, which in itself is a record. The trailer of the movie got a warm reception. Rajinikanth fans have two reasons to celebrate tomorrow. First, it is Rajinikanth’s birthday and second his movie is releasing on the same day. It remains to be seen if the movie will script the history just like other Rajinikanth movies.
