I have never used bikini, says Ansiba Hassan

Drishyam was an epic film in Malayalam which not only opened a new realm to Mollywood, But also provided Mollywood with some good artists. It was a turning point in some artists career such as Kalabhavan Shajon and Asha Sarath. One such actress, Drishyam gave to Malayalam cinema was Ansiba Hassan, Who played the elder daughter of Mohanlal in Drishyam.

She had later acted in Tamil films and recently become a news in online medias regarding some bikini photos of her. Ansiba did some glamorous roles and may be because of that when the news and photos came that is saying it was of Ansiba’s, people seem to believe it. Now in interview to Onlookers Media , She cleared the air regarding the issue. Ansiba said that she will do glamorous roles if the character of the film demands a bit of glamour. Its for the sake of that character and film. But she will never become vulgar or never do any vulgar roles for any film and she dost not like to wear vulgar costumes or something like that.

When asked about the spreading bikini photos of her and the rumours behind it in online medias, she said when she heard that news at first she felt it like hearing a comedy. She told us that she never used a bikini in her life. In fact she does not even have one to wear and she had no intention to wear it also. She said when she saw the photos, which is claimed by the social online medias of her’s, she felt really shocked. Because that photos was of a Tamil actress named Varsha and the medias were misleading the viewers by posting that photos as of Ansiba’s. She said anyone can examine that photos closely and can understand the truth.

May be the similarity of appearance between she and Varsha caused the problem. She also said that if anyone can prove that it was she who is wearing bikini in that photo, she will stop acting at that moment itself. Anyway, Ansiba Hassan is pretty clear and confident about what she says and the photo incident just could be an another example of bad media games.

Mammootty 2014 Overview

2014, by the end, an year of solace for Mammootty

Mega star Mammootty was going through a patch of terrible form in last 4 years with almost all his films were bombed at the box office. It was such a stressful period in his career that he almost on the verge of losing his stardom and fan base with this terrible record. The first part of 2014 also was really disappointing For Mammootty as he witnessed back to back failures at box office.

Balyakaalasakhi
Mammootty has begun 2014 with ‘Balyakaalasakhi’, based on Vaikom Muhammad basheer’s famous story, which was directed by debutant Pramod payyannoor. The film had raised good expectation before its release but failed miserably at the box office.

Praise the lord
His next release was with another debutant director Shibu gangadharan, who made the film named “Praise the lord” based on the writing of famous writer Zakkariya. But it also ended up in utter failure much to the dismay of Mammootty.

Gangster
His third release this year was ‘Gangster’ directed by none other than Aashiq Abu and the film had raised such a sky high expectation that people really waited for this one to hit the screen. The trailers and teasers of the film had got viral. But the film ended as the biggest disaster in Mammootty’s career and Mollywood history with just only 14 days of theatrical run. People expected a film like Big B and Gangster was not upto the mark.

Manglish
His 4th release of this year was Manglish. Directed by salam bappu. Even though the film had got negative opinion it somehow managed to escape from the fate of being a disaster and touched the break even mark. It was an average success but had nothing new to offer.

Munnariyippu
The film that had changed his dilemma was his next release ‘Munnariyippu’ directed by Venu, which has got great appreciation from critics. Even though financial success eluded the film. Mammootty showed the signs of getting back on track through this film. It was a classical hit indeed.

Rajaadhiraja
His next one was a commercial potboiler named Rajaadhi raja and it gave him a much awaited hit even after the film has got negative word of mouth.  The usual film formula of Sibi-Udayan team was behind it .The film is an average success and it was really a welcome relief for Mammootty from the terrible times.

Varsham
And his last release this year was ‘Varsham’ directed by Renjith Sanker , the film had got great appreciation from critics and common audience alike. The film had got a hit status and thus Mammootty able to end the year with a good note.

He had high hopes on his 2015 releases and the first one will be ‘Fireman’ directed by Deepu Karunakaran. Another film he is looking forward is ‘Acha Dhin’ by Marthandan. We are wishing all the best for Mammukka for a grand year of 2015.

Angels blessed Indrajith with his first solo hit

Angels, the film directed by Debutant Jean Markose was now running successfully in Kerala with a decent word of mouth from the spectators. The film had Indrajith Sukumaaran, Asha Sarath and Joy Mathew in the lead roles and it was a social investigative thriller kind of movie which make the audience sit at the edge of their seats from beginning to the end.

Indrajith Sukumaaran had high hopes on this film and the film had become a good success as he hoped. Indrajith thus got his first solo hit as an actor and star through this film. Now it is almost 12-13 years after Indrajith made his debut in Mollywood. He had been part of many hit films or even Blockbuster film too. But Angels is the one which gave the solo hit which he really wanted as a star. He had been a part of blockbuster hits like Meesha Madhavan along with Dileep, Classmates along with His brother Prithviraj Sukumaran and Jayasurya. He also had many super hits along with Jayaram and Jayasurya in Happy Husbands,  with Fahadh faasil in Amen, Chotta Mumbai with None other than Mohanlal, Runway and Chanthu Pottu  with Dileep, Arabi kadha with Sreenivaasan, Elsamma enna penkutty with Kunchacko Boban etc.

He also proved himself as a versatile actor with many critically acclaimed films such  as Aakashathinte Niram, 101 Chodyangal, Left right left, Karmayogi, Karayilekku oru kadal dooram, Ee adutha kaalathu, Before the rains, Kavya’s diary, Sarvam and The waiting room. He also had the great fortune to work with M.T Vasudevan Nair and Hariharan team in the film ‘Ezhamathe varavu’. He made his debut in the 2002 Vinayan film ‘Oomapenninu uriyada payyan’ as a villain in which jayasurya played the hero. Now he had acted in more than 50 films and it is now that he got his first solo hit of his career thanks to ‘Angels’.

Indrajith has also acted in Hindi, English, Tamil, and Telugu films in his 12 year old acting career. Now he is waiting for the release of ‘Cousins’ which was a big budget film directed by Vysakh and the film also feature a huge star cast including Kunjacko Boban, Joju Georgeand Suraj Venjaaranmood along with Indrajith. He had high expectation on this one and he is now on the work of another much awaiting film named “Double barrel” by Lijo jose pellisserry in which his co- stars are his brother Prithviraj, Sunny Wayne, Asif Ali and Arya.

Mohanlal 2014 Overview

2014, Not so good for Mohanlal, but still going strong.

Year 2014 was not a good one for Mohanlal as he does not have any huge success this year.  He had only 2 main releases in Mollywood with Mr.Fraud Directed by B. Unnikrishnan and Peruchazhi Directed by Arun Vaidyanaadhan. He played a cameo in Sreenath Rajendran’s Koothara in which Bharath, Sunny Wayne and Tovino Thomas played the lead roles. Mohanlal had begun the year with a thunderous Hit Drishyam.  But he did not get a success like Drishyam later this year. Drishyam became all time biggest Hit of Mollywood. The film which got remade in almost all south Indian languages and all set to remake in Hindi too. Even though the film had got released in 2013 December , it ran for almost 175 days in 2014 and it remains the film which got maximum collection in 2014

Jilla
A Tamil film in which he played the central role along with ilaya thalapathy Vijay which got a smashing opening all over  and totally collected a whopping 90 crores worldwide. The film had got mixed opinion, and there was some controversy regarding its hit status as producer came out saying that it was not a much profitable film for him . But anyways Mohanlal’s star value reached sky high in south India with it.

Mr.Fraud
His first main release in 2014 MR. fraud, Directed by B. Unnikrishnan, which got released in the month of May this year. The film had got a great opening owing to the star value of Mohanlal. The film got much of mixed opinion and it was a financial success.

Koothara
The came Koothara which was a fresh and novel experiment and got a great opening due to the presence of Mohanlal, But it also failed at the box office due to bad word of mouth . People who went to see Mohanlal was disappointed as he is only few scenes in the film and the climax also was a let down.

Peruchazhi
The last one was Peruchazhi  which got released in August this  year as an onam release. The film holds the record of this year’s Biggest Opening day collections. The film is only aimed at Mohanlal fans and even after getting negative word of mouth, the film has done a pretty good business and ended as an average or above average grosser by grossing above 12 crores and also amassing a whopping 6.5 crore rupees as satellite right. He once again proved that in star value he is the best we ever have and far far ahead than any other star in Mollywood.

But he have to think wisely while choosing films as the standard of his films had decreased after the success of Drishyam. Anyway Mohanlal is all set to start 2015 with some great projects such as Laila o laila with Joshiey and an unnamed project with Sathyan Anthikkad and Manju Warrier. He also doing a cameo in Rajiv Nath’s Rasam and Kannada film Mythri.  We wishing all the best to the Universal star and Complete Actor Of Mollywood, our own Lalettan.

First anniversary of the wonder named Drishyam

Yes, it was indeed a real wonder , That made Malayalam cinema to reach another world. Drishyam, the biggest hit Malayalam cinema had even seen got released in a misty morning on December 19, 2013. Nobody even in their wildest of dreams thought that it will cross the boundary of all existing commercial records Mollywood had ever seen. Not just in Kerala, it created records everywhere it got released.  The film has reportedly grossed close to 65 crores worldwide and including all the rights it totally got above 75 crores.

The film had collected above 1 crore each from US  and UK and and the second best films was collected only under 30 lakhs. In UAE Drishyam showed for more than 100 days and it had broked the record of Titanic as it run more days than titanic which was the only foreign film that completed 100 days in UAE. In India it created records in all the states it got released in terms of Money collected and the number of days it showed in theaters there.   The show count of the film is close to 35000 and it ran for almost 200 days in Kerala.

It also created record in DVD sale as it broked all previous record and now way ahead of all. It had become the first film to enter into the 50 crore club from Mollywood and the second best one was not even crossed 40 crore mark. The film is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad cinemas. The men who made this success possible is Jeethu Joseph who directed and scripted this film and The universal star, Complete actor Mohanlal who played the lead role of George kutty in this film. Mohanlal once again proved that in popularity and crowd pulling capacity he is the emperor of Mollywood and way ahead than any of his counterparts. We can claearly say that it was Mohanlal, that made all the difference which made the film to reach such an unimaginable level of things.

The film would have been a sure hit even without Mohanlal playing the lead. But it would not have become such a wonder and unbelievable success without Mohanlal. The film was also become a turning point in many artists career such as Kalabhavan Shajon and Asha sarath etc. Now it been remaking in Tamil by Jeethu Joseph with none other than Kamal Hasan in the lead. The Malayalam film lovers and Fans of Mohanlal is all set to celebrate the first anniversary of  this ‘wonder’ called DRISHYAM on this December 19th and we are also very happy to be part of it.

Geethu Mohandas is a well-known actress and also a great director who had made some wonderful films. She is very famous at the national level too with her critically acclaimed films. She got married to Rajeev ravi, Who was a cinematographer turned Director, who directed films like Annayum Rasoolum, Njan Steve Lopez etc. The new issue is that the online page of a leading and popular daily in Kerala published a news saying that Geethu Mohandas had reacted against the medias and persons who went against her husband Rajeev’s opinion about actor Sreenivasan. They published that Geethu said that her husband may not have said those words and it may be the trick of some online medias which made Rajeev’s comment controversial.

But Geethu Mohandas now come out through her Facebook profile with a status that telling the people that she is heavily jet lagged and read just nonsensical statements published on her behalf by a famous online media. She said in that status that she did not tell anything at all what that online page is claiming and that news they published about her words have no credibility at all. And she also supported her husband in that status saying that What Rajeev has said has been expressed loud and clear because those are his politics and his beliefs and every person has the right to like or hate films according to his or her aesthetics. It has got nothing to do with the individuals concerned.

She told that every person who makes a film or work of art should stand scrutiny on the aesthetics and its social impact. The media discourse should naturally be on his strong political views and his films. It should not be used against any individuals. She ended her status with the request that we all have to do a healthy debate which would be better for Malayalam film and culture.

Actress turned director Geethu Mohandas told to the media that the allegations against her husband Rajeev Ravi may be a framed one. She said that she will not believe that Rajeev Ravi had said the so called disrespectful comments about veteran actor and script writer Sreenivaasan.

The latest issue Mollywood had got to celebrate is from Rajeev Ravi, who  is the cinematographer turned director. Rajeev Ravi gave an interview to an online website called South Live and in that interview he made some remarks on Sreenivasan, who is a popular actor, director and well known for his classic scripts. The remarks had now the reason for a war of words on social media. In that interview Rajeev Ravi had criticized people like Quentin Tarantino, Mani Ratnam and Sreenivasan. Rajeev ravi in that interview, said about Sreenivasan that He hates Sreenivasan he said that Sreenivasan’s scripts are mainly focused on middle class people and his films are not for any public benefits, it was only for his own benefit. His films does not able bring anything good to the society.  He also said that burning down scripts before the shoot will be a good thing and can make good films without scripts.

Geethu Mohandas said that it was not at all a good attitude by the media to twist and turn one’s words and thereby creating a controversy to gain popularity. It was such a disrespectful attitude and playing with people’s emotions  is really a bad move from the part of medias. She said that she is always against such a filthy media culture. She also said that when people react to these kind of fake newses, they had to check the genuinity behind those before reacting to it. It was very much immature on the part of those who reacts to these things without trying to check its truth. She said this because, People like Vineeth sreenivasan had posted on his social networking profile against Rajeev’s statement about his father.

As a reply  to Rajeev’s statement against his father, Vineeth Sreenivasan  posted on his profile that he had heard about some classes on how to make films without script and all. If that is the case people  who writes scripts before doing a film can save a great amount of time in their professional life.  He also said mockingly that he would like to learn that technique of making films without scripts.
