Allu Arjun’s Pushpa trailer to be out tomorrow

The first part of Allu Arjun-starrer ‘Pushpa’ is slated to hit screens on December 17 ahead of Christmas. Meanwhile, the makers have announced that its trailer will be out tomorrow (November 30). The film has huge expectations as it is the first such attempt by Allu Arjun. The star is sporting a rugged look and plays a smuggler’s character.

Directed by Sukumar, ‘Pushpa’ is a two-part action film that revolves around the smuggling of red sanders. Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil is making his Telugu debut by essaying the villain role.

Rashmika Mandanna is paired with Allu Arjun. Prakash Raj, Harish Uttaman, Anasuya, Jagapathi Babu, Sunil, Anasuya Bharadwaj, Dhananjay and Vennela Kishore are also part of the cast. Samantha will be making a special appearance in a song sequence in the film. Devi Sri Prasad is handling the music department.

‘Pushpa’ is planned as a pan-Indian film with release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam languages.

National-award winning director Salim Ahamed, known for his films like ‘Adaminte Makan Abu’ and ‘Pathemari’, is producing a new film titled ‘Sundari Gardens’. It stars Neeraj Madhav and Aparna Balamurali as the leads. The film’s first look poster got unveiled last day. From the poster, which has the two actors having a drink in candle-lit ambience, it looks like a romantic entertainer.

‘Sundari Gardens’ is written and directed by Charlie Davis. Music is by Alphons Joseph and cinematography will be handled by Swaroop Philip. Editor Sajit Unnikrishnan, art director Ashik S, lyricist Joe Paul, and makeup artist RG Wayanadan are the others in the team.

Neeraj Madhav meanwhile is making his Tamil debut with Gautham Menon’s ‘Vendhu Thanindhathu Kaadu’ starring Simbu in the lead role. The ‘Family Man’ actor is said to be playing a crucial role in it.

Aparna Balamurali also has a couple of Tamil films lined up. She was last seen in Malayalam in ‘Jeem Boom Bhaa’.

Shoot for Vijay’s ‘Beast’ is currently progressing at a brisk pace. On Sunday, which was the 100th day’s shoot, the makers shared a new still from the sets. It seems to be a shot from a song sequence with Vijay on the drums and the lead lady Pooja Hegde holding the mic. Vijay, at the centre of the picture, grabs attention as he sports a cool salt and pepper look.

Director Nelson has also retained most of his ‘Doctor’ actors including Redin Kingsley, Bjorn Surrao, Sunil Reddy and Shiva Arvind. Malayalam actress Aparna Das, Shine Tom Chacko, Yogi Babu, Ankur Ajit Vikal, VTV Ganesh, and Liliput Faruqui are the others in the cast. Filmmaker Selvaraghavan plays the antagonist role.

‘Beast’ is is touted to be a big-budget fun, action thriller in which Vijay reportedly plays a con-agent. The film has Anirudh Ravichander as the music director and cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa. Sun Pictures is producing this biggie.

Prithviraj to release Ranveer Singh’s 83 in Kerala

Ranveer Singh’s ’83’ based on India’s historic 1983 Cricket World Cup win is hugely awaited by film lovers across the country. Directed by Kabir Khan, the film has Ranveer Singh playing the role of the legendary Kapil Dev, who was the Indian team’s skipper then. The story narrates Kapil’s journey to become the captain of the India national team and winning the World Cup. ’83’ has a big star cast comprising of actors like Deepika Padukone, Pankaj Tripathi, Jiiva, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Saqib Saleem, Ammy Virk, Jatin Sarna and Harrdy Sandhu among others.

The Kerala distribution rights of ’83’ has been acquired by actor Prithviraj. His Prithviraj Productions had earlier released big non-Malayalam films like ‘Petta’, ‘Bigil’, and ‘Master’. The company has also bagged the rights of the much-anticipated ‘KGF 2’ and the Rakshit Shetty starrer ‘777 Charlie’.

Meanwhile, it has been announced that the trailer of ’83’ will be out tomorrow (November 30). The film is scheduled for a grand worldwide release on December 24, 2021.

CBI 5 launched; Check out the pooja stills

The fifth installment in the popular CBI franchise has been launched with a customary pooja ceremony, which was attended by some of the main crew members. The trio of Mammootty, script writer SN Swamy and director K Madhu are reuniting for the film and Swargachitra Appachan is producing it. Mammootty could not attend the pooja event as he is busy shooting for his new film ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’ in Palani. He is expected to join the team by the second week of December.

‘CBI 5’ will see Mammootty reprising the iconic role of Sethurama Iyer. Though the makers are yet to announce the cast officially, it is reported that the film has an elaborate cast comprising the likes of Dileesh Pothan, Renji Panicker, Soubin Shahir, Lijo Jose Pellissery, Sai Kumar, Asha Sarath.

Jakez Bejoy has been roped in as the music director and Akhil George will be the DOP. More details including the film’s title and its other cast and crew members are expected to be announced soon.

We had recently reported about Tovino Thomas and Keerthy Suresh starring in a new film titled ‘Vaashi’. The film got launched last week and the two actors have now joined the sets. The film is directed by debutant Vishnu G Raghav, who has previously acted in a couple of films including the Dulqer Salmaan starrer ‘Theevram’.

‘Vaashi’ has its story penned by Janiz Chacko Simon and screenplay by director Vishnu. Neil Dcunha is the cinematographer. Kailas Menon is the composer
and Mahesh Narayanan will be handling the edits. The film also stars Anu Mohan, Sreelakshmi, ‘Thinakalazhcha Nishchayam’ fame Anagha, Nandu, Baiju Santhosh, Rony, Kottayam Ramesh, and Maya Viswanath.

Keerthy’s father Suresh Kumar, a veteran in Malayalam industry, is producing the film. Her mother Menaka Suresh and sister Revathy Suresh are the co-producers. Urvashi Theatres and Ramya Movies will be releasing the film.

Jayasurya-Nadhirshah film Eesho censored with clean U certificate

Jayasurya’s upcoming film ‘Eesho’ directed by Nadhirshah is getting ready for release. Last day, the film cleared censors with a clean U certificate. It must have been a huge sigh of relief for the makers as the film’s title had earlier got them in trouble. Christian religious groups had lashed out against the makers for using the title ‘Eesho’. It was later resolved after several rounds of discussions.

Nadhirshah as a director is well known for helming fun-filled entertainers. All his previous films, ‘Amar Akbar Anthony’, ‘Kattapanayile Rithwik Roshan’ and ‘Mera Naam Shaji’, had humour as the main element. ‘Eesho’, however, is a thriller and it will be interesting to see how Nadhirshah has helmed it.

Suneesh Varanad, who had earlier penned the Manju Warrier-starrer ‘Mohanlal’, has scripted this film as well. It has Namitha Pramod as the female lead. Salim Kumar will be also seen playing an important role.

On the technical front, Roby Varghese Raj has handled the cinematography and edits are done by Shameer Muhammed. Nadhirshah is composing the songs and background score is by Jakes Bejoy.

Actor-turned-producer Arun Narayan is producing the film under his banner Arun Narayan Productions. Release date is expected to be announced soon.

‘Hridayam’ team has now tried to recreate the golden area of music-listening by launching audio cassettes and CDs. With the introduction of smart phones and music-apps, the culture of casettes and CDs have faded away but Vineeth Sreenivasan has passionately followed this idea and has managed to relaunch it.

‘Hridayam’ has a total of 15 tracks composed by Hesham Abdul Wahab, with whom Vineeth is collaborating for the first time. Prior to the shoot, the two had travelled to Istanbul to record live instruments for the film. Several big names, including Srinivas, KS Chithra, Unni Menon and actor Prithviraj Sukumaran, have sung in the film.

Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam: Ramya Pandian joins Mammootty-Lijo Jose Pellisery film

Shoot for Mammootty’s upcoming film with Lijo Jose Pellissery is currently progressing in Palani in Tamil Nadu. The film titled ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’ is produced by the megastar’s newly launched production house Mammootty Company.

Tamil actress Ramya Pandian has joined the film’s cast and has started shooting for it. She is noted for her roles in the National-award winning ‘Joker’ and the recently-released ‘Raame Aandalum Raavane Aandalum’. Details regarding Ramya’s role in ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’ is not yet known. Veteran actor Ashokan is also playing a major role in the film.

Director Lijo is said to be attempting an entirely new genre this time. It is said to be a hybrid film with dialogues in both Tamil and Malayalam. Theni Eashwar who has cranked the camera for many acclaimed films, is the DOP. He has worked with Mammootty in ‘Peranbu’ and the yet-to-be released ‘Puzhu’.

After the completion of ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’, Mammootty and Lijo are also set to team up for a short segment in the upcoming Netflix anthology based on MT Vasudevan Nair’s stories.

After releasing short promo teasers over the last few days, the makers of ‘Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham’ have announced that a grand trailer will be out on November 30. With the film set to hit screens worldwide on December 2, the trailer is certain to heighten the expectations.

‘Marakkar’ directed by Priyadarshan directorial is an action-epic that tells the story of Kunjali Marakkar IV. Superstar Mohanlal plays the lead role and the cast also includes several well-known actors from various languages. Suniel Shetty, Arjun, Pranav Mohanlal, Keerthy Suresh, Manju Warrier, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Siddique, Prabhu, Baburaj, Mukesh, and Ashok Selvan will be seen in major roles. .

‘Marakkar’ is unarguably one of the most hyped Malayalam films in years. Its release has been postponed multiple times due to the pandemic. Despite the delays, expectations on the film still remain intact. Though the makers are yet to announce the number of screens in which the film will be releasing worldwide, it is most likely to be a new record for a Malayalam film.
