Here’s the teaser of Asif Ali-Rajisha starrer Ellam Sheriyakum

The teaser of Asif Ali and Rajisha’s new film ‘Ellam Sheriyakum’ has been released. Directed by Jibu Jacob of ‘Vellimoonga’ fame, the film is said to be a political satire. Asif and Rajisha, who are acting together after ‘Anuraga Karikkin Vellam’, are playing a married couple in this film.

Sharis Muhammed has scripted the film. Its supporting cast includes Sidhique, Tulasi Sivamani, Indrans, Johny Antony, Kalabhavan Shajon, Balu Varghese, Sethulakshmi and Kichu Tellas. The film has Sreejith Nair cranking the camera.

Music department is handled by veteran Ouseppachan and Sooraj ES is editing the film. It is jointly produced by Thomas Thiruvalla and Dr Paul Varghese under the banner of Dr Paul’s Entertainment.

The makers had announced a couple of release dates earlier but it didn’t materialize due to the pandemic. The film is currently eyeing to hit the screens in November.

The makers are yet to reveal any details regarding the film’s plot or genre. Yuvan Shankar Raja, a regular collaborator with Ram, has been retained as the music director. Cinematography is by NK Ekhambram. There are talks about the film being a Tamil-Malayalam bilingual, but it is yet to be confirmed.

SP Balasubrahmanyam sings for one last time for Rajinikanth; First single from Annaatthe out!

The makers of Rajinikanth’s ‘Annaatthe’ have released the first single online. The late SP Balasubrahmanyam has sung this track, which is set to tunes by D Imman. Viveka has penned the lyrics.

SPB has penned numerous chartbuster songs for Rajinikanth. Traditionally, most of the opening songs in Rajini’s films are sung by SPB. It is quite unfortunate that this is the last time the legendary combo comes together.

‘Annaatthe’ directed by Siva promises to be a family entertainer. The director seems to have retained the formulaic approach with prominence to family emotions, which worked big time in his last film ‘Viswasam’.

Along with Rajinikanth, there is a huge star cast comprising of actors like Keerthy Suresh, Meena, Khushbu, Nayanthara, Jackie Shroff, Jagapathi Babu and Prakash Raj.

The makers have confirmed that the film will be hitting screens for this year’s Deepavali. They have announced November 4, 2021 as the release date.

Premiere date of Suriya’s Jai Bhim out

As reported earlier, Suriya’s new film ‘Jai Bhim’ will be releasing directly on Amazon Prime Video. Produced by the actor’s own banner 2D Entertainment, the film is all set to premiere on November 2 ahead of Deepavali.

‘Jai Bhim’ is part of the 4-film deal that 2D Entertainment has signed with Amazon Prime Video. ‘Raame Aandalum Raavanan Aandalum’, Sasikumar-Jyothika starrer ‘Udanpirappe’ and Arun Vijay-Arnav Vijay starrer ‘Oh My Dog’ are the other three films. While the first one has already released, the latter two eyes release in October and December.

‘Jai Bhim’ directed by ‘Kootathil Oruthan’ fame TJ Gnanavel will be an intense social drama. The film is based on a real-life legal battle from 1993. It has Suriya playing an advocate who fights for the rights of a tribal community. Rajisha Vijayan, Lijomol Jose of ‘Maheshinte Prathikaram’ fame and Manikandan, Prakash Raj and many others are part of the cast.

Sean Roldan is in charge of the music department. SR Kathir wields the lens and Philomin Raj handles the edits. Stunt choreography by AnbAriv duo.

Kunchacko Boban to team up with Ajai Vasudev

Buzz is that Kunchacko Boban is planning to team up with Ajai Vasudev next. The director has previously made the Mammootty-starrers ‘Rajadhiraja’, ‘Masterpiece’ and ‘Shylock’. This will mark his first collaboration with an actor other than Mammootty.

Ajai Vasudev’s films are usually action-packed mass entertainers. It remains to be seen if he is planning to make one with Kunchacko Boban as well. There are reports about this being a remake of a hit film but an official confirmation is still awaited.

Kunchacko Boban, meanwhile, is busy shooting for ‘Theevandi’ fame Fellini’s ‘Ottu’. Made as a Tamil-Malayalam bilingual, the film stars Arvind Swamy as the other lead. Titled ‘Rendagam’ in Tamil, the film is produced by August Cinema.

Kunchacko Boban has multiple projects coming up. He has already completed shooting for ‘Thamaasha’ director Ashraf Hamza’s second film ‘Beemante Vazhi’. Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval’s ‘Nna Thaan Case Kodu’, ‘Grrr’ with Jay K, ‘Aaram Pathiraa’ with Midhun Manuel Thomas, ‘Neelavelicham’ with Aashiq Abu and ‘Ariyippu’ with Mahesh Narayanan are his other projects, all of which are in various stages of production.

The teaser of Aishwarya Lekshmi’s first solo lead film ‘Archana 31 Not Out’ has been released. Directed by debutant Akhil Anilkumar, the film promises to be a fun entertainer set in a rural backdrop. Aishwarya plays Archana, a primary school teacher in the film. The story seems to be centered around the interesting events that occur during her attempts to get married. Veteran actor Indrans also plays a pivotal role in the film.

Akhil Anilkumar is noted for his short films like ‘Devika +2 Biology’ and ‘Avittam – The Good Day of Unnikuttan’. Akhil has penned the screenplay for his directorial debut along with Ajay Vijayan and Vivek Chandran. A bunch of new technicians are also being introduced with this film. Release date of Allu Arjun’s Pushpa announced

It has been announced that the Allu Arjun starrer ‘Pushpa – The Rise’ will be hitting screens on December 17 ahead of Christmas. The film will be releasing in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam languages.

Directed by Sukumar, ‘Pushpa’ is a two-part film that revolves around the smuggling of red sanders in Seshachalam Hills of the Rayalaseema region of Andhra Pradesh. Allu Arjun plays the titular role and he sports a rugged look in it. Rashmika Mandanna plays the female lead, Srivalli.

Malayalam star Fahadh Faasil is making his Telugu debut by essaying the villain role. While Allu Arjun plays a smuggler, Fahadh is said to be essaying the role of a corrupt police officer named Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. Others in the cast include Prakash Raj, Harish Uttaman, Anasuya, Jagapathi Babu, Sunil, Anasuya Bharadwaj and Vennela Kishore.

The film, which has music by Devi Sri Prasad, is produced by Mythri Movie Makers in association with Muttamsetty Media.

Antony Varghese’s long delayed ‘Ajagajantharam’ is finally gearing up for theatrical release. As theatres reopen in Kerala on October 25, the makers have decided to release it immediately. A new poster was also shared last day.

‘Ajagajantharam’ is said to be a full-on film set in the backdrop of a temple festival. It is directed by Tinu Pappachan, who made an impressive debut with ‘Swathanthryam Ardharathriyil’. ‘Angamaly Diaries’ (AD) actors Vineeth Viswam and Kichu Tellus have scripted the film.

Antony Varghese reportedly plays the lead role of a mahout in ‘Ajagajantharam’. Arjun Ashokan, Lukman, Kichu Tellus, Sabumon, Jaffer Idukki, Sudhi Koppa and Vineeth Viswam will be seen essaying other major roles. The film has Jinto George as the cinematographer, Justin Varghese as the music director and Shameer Muhammed as the editor.

Emmanuel Joseph and Ajith Thalapilly are jointly producing it under the banner of Silver Bay Studios.

Second schedule of Kamal Haasan-Lokesh film Vikram wrapped up

The second schedule of upcoming Tamil biggie ‘Vikram’ has been wrapped up. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film has Kamal Haasan playing the lead role along with Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil. Last day, the team completed their second schedule in Pondicherry.

Lokesh took to his social media handle to share a new photo from the sets. The photo features Kamal Haasan sitting on a stylish sports bike. Lokesh, cinematographer Girish Gangadharan and action choreographers AnbAriv are also seen alongside him.

‘Vikram’ promises to be an action entertainer. The film also stars Kalidas Jayaram, Narain, Megha Akash, Shivani Narayanan and Arjun Das. Its core technical side includes editor Philomin Raj and music director Anirudh Ravichander.

Kamal Haasan’s own banner Raaj Kamal Film International (RKFI) is producing the film. Though ‘Vikram’ was rumoured to be a spin-off of Kamal’s 1986 film of the same name, the makers are yet to confirm it.

Shoot for Mohanlal-Jeethu Joseph combo’s new film ’12th Man’ has been wrapped up. Produced by Antony Perumbavoor of Aashirvad Cinemas, the film was mostly shot in a single location in Thodupuzha. The film, which promises to be a mystery thriller, has only around 15 characters in it

Talented young actors like Unni Mukundan, Anu Sithara, Aditi Ravi, Leona Lishoy, Anusree, ‘Pathinettam Padi’ fame Chandhunadh, Sshivadha, Priyanka Nair, Saiju Kurup, Anu Mohan and Rahul Madhav are part of the cast. Due to the pandemic, the film was shot following all the safety protocols. All the actors stayed in a single resort.

On the technical front, Jeethu Joseph has retained his regular set of technicians — cinematographer Satheesh Kurupu and music director Anil Johnson. VS Vinayak is the editor.

Though there are speculations about ’12th Man’ being planned as a direct OTT film, the makers are yet to announce it officially. Mohanlal-Jeethu Joseph duo’s last film ‘Drishyam 2’ had its release on Amazon Prime Video and emerged as a massive success.
