Suriya donates Rs 12.5 lakhs to 250 members of his fans club

When it comes to charity and helping the needy, Tamil actor Suriya has always been on the forefront. Recently, he donated Rs 12.5 lakhs to 250 members of his fans club. Reportedly, Suriya had asked his fans club representatives to get a list of the financially struggling members. He helped them by transferring Rs 5000 each and the amount has been directly credited to their bank accounts.

Last month, Suriya along with his brother Karthi and father Sivakumar contributed Rs 1 crore towards the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund (CMPRF) for the fight against COVID-19. They personally handed over the cheque to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin.

On the professional front, 35% shoot of Suriya’s upcoming film with director Pandiraj has been completed. He has also finished shooting for his portions in ‘Kootathil Oruthan’ director TJ Gnanavel’s next. The actor plays a cameo role as an advocate in the film.

Suriya will be next seen in the Netflix anthology ‘Navarasa’. He will be seen as musician in the segment directed by Gautham Menon. It is set to have its world premiere in August.

Kalidas Jayaram’ next is a time-travel based film

It was recently announced that Kalidas Jayaram will be teaming up director Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi for his next in Tamil. Tanya Ravichandran will be seen as the female lead in the film, which will be produced by Sagar Pentela’s Rise East banner. It is learnt that this will be a time-travel based film. It is a rarely used concept that offers plenty of scope. Earlier, films like ’24’ and ‘Indru Netru Naalai’ have successfully employed this technique.

Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi’ previous two films — ‘Vanakkam Chennai’ and ‘Kaali’. Her next with Kalidas and Tanya is said to be a time-travel based film. While her debut film starring Siva and Priya Anand was a rom-com, ‘Kaali’ starring Vijay Antony, Anjali, Sunaina, Shilpa Manjunath and Amritha Aiyer had an interesting concept about a surgeon in search of his biological parents. It will be interesting to see the director handling the time-travel idea next.

Richard M Nathan, the cinematographer of Kiruthiga’s previous two films, has been retained for her upcoming film as well. More details regarding the project are expected to be out soon.

‘Bermuda’ is an upcoming Malayalam film starring Shane Nigam and Vinay Forrt as the leads. A new motion poster featuring Vinay Forrt as a cop got released online last day. Kunchacko Boban shared it through his official social media handle. Along with the motion poster, he also wrote,

Earlier, Mammootty had released the first look poster featuring Shane Nigam. Veteran TK Rajeev Kumar is directing the film. It is scripted by Krishnadas Panki. Shelley Calist is cranking the camera. Multiple National award winner Sreekar Prasad is the editor and music department is being handled by Pandit Ramesh Narayan. Production designer Dileep Nath, Costume designer Sameer Saneesh and makeup artist Amal Chandran are also part of the technical crew.

‘Bermuda’ is jointly produced by Sooraj CK, Biju CJ and Badusha NM under the banner of 24 Frames.

Oblivion: A music video with fascinating concept and stunning visuals!

A new Malayalam music video titled ‘Oblivion’ got released online last day. Maestro AR Rahman and Dulquer Salmaan released the video through their respective social media handles. The song is composed by Ashwin Renju and lyrics is penned by Manu Manjith. Harisankar KS has lent his vocals.

‘Oblivion’ is directed by Dominic Arun of ‘Tharangam’ fame. It is originally conceived and written by actress Santhy Balachandran. It has a fascinating concept featuring an imaginative exploration of memory, perception and subjectivity through the mindscape of a young man living his final moments. With stunning visuals and a beautifully crafted soundscape, it offers an immersive experience. It is not often that a music video of this quality is released in Malayalam. Nimish Ravi has shot the visuals.

Sidharth Varma has done the lead role of a youngster going through his final moments. Lakshmi Marikar, Karthika Nair, Irene Jose, Jess Sweejan, Immanuel Kurian, Sanal Mohan, Ashlee Issac Abraham and Vaisakh Shankar also appear in the music video. Others in the technical crew include National award winning production designer Banglan, sound designer Dawn Vincent, make up artist Ronex Xavier and costume designer Gayathri Kishore

50% shoot of Vikram-Dhruv film has been completed, reveals Karthik Subbaraj

Director Karthik Subbaraj’s is bringing together the father-son duo of Vikram and Dhruv for his next film. Tentatively titled as ‘Chiyaan 60’, the film is produced by Lalit Kumar of 7 Screen Studio. In a recent interview, Subbaraj revealed that 50% of the film’s shoot has already been wrapped up. Unconfirmed reports suggest that it is a gangster thriller set entirely in Chennai.

Santhosh Narayanan is composing the music. The makers have got Simran and ‘Oh My Kadavule’ fame Vani Bhojan as the two female leads. Notably, Simran has previously worked with Vikram in ‘Dhurva Natchathiram’ but the film is yet to hit screens. She had also done a special appearance in his 2003-film ‘Pithamagan’.

In the interview, Subbaraj said that he is planning to resume works as and when the government permits film shootings. Meanwhile, his much-awaited film ‘Jagame Thandhiram’ starring Dhanush is gearing up for release. It is scheduled to have its world premiere on Netflix on June 18.

Nadhirshah pens high hopes on Keshu Ee Veedinte Nathan; Confirms theatrical release

The Nadhirshah directorial ‘Keshu Ee Veedinte Nathan’ starring Dileep in the titular role has been delayed for over a year now. The film was supposed to hit screens much earlier but got postponed due to the pandemic. In a recent interaction with his followers during a Clubhouse session, Nadhrishah confirmed that they are only planning a theatre release.

According to him, the film is made for the audience to watch and enjoy from the big screen. Nadhirshah believes that it is the most fun film that he has done in his career so far. He along with Dileep are determined on getting a theatrical release. He also added that even Urvashi has pinned huge expectations on the film.

‘Keshu Ee Veedinte Nathan’ has Dileep playing middle-aged person’s role while Urvashi essays the part of his wife. The two actors are playing a couple for the first time and that is one of the film’s biggest highlights. ‘June’ fame Vaishnavi and ‘Thanneer Mathan Dhinangal’ fame Naslen will be seen as their kids. National award winner Sajeev Pazhoor of ‘Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum’ fame has scripted the film.

‘Keshu Ee Veedinte Nathan’ is produced by NAD Group headed by Dileep and Nadhrishah.

Dhanush reveals that he underwent one-month long stunt training for The Gray Man

It is already known that Dhanush is acting in the upcoming Netflix original, ‘The Gray Man’. The film is directed by ‘Avengers’ fame Russo Brothers and it has Hollywood stars Ryan Gosling and Chris Evans as the leads. Dhanush is playing an important role in it. The actor has been in the US for the past four months as part of the film’s shoot.

Last day, during a Twitter Spaces interaction session, Dhanush revealed that he had undergone a month-long training to perform the stunt scenes in the film. He also added that so far, he has shot for 20 days for the film. He will be returning back to India within two weeks after the completion of shoot.

‘The Gray Man’ is an action thriller where the story revolves around two killers – a freelance assassin Gentry (Ryan Gosling) and Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans), a former associate of Gentry at the CIA and now on a worldwide hunt for him, and their duel. Dhanush is said to be playing an Indian native’s role in it.

OTT giant Netflix is coming up with a four-part anthology film titled ‘Ray’. It is based on four classic stories penned by the legendary filmmaker-author Satyajit Ray. Manoj Bajpayee, Kay Kay Menon, Harshvarrdhan Kapoor and Ali Fazal play the lead roles in the four films.

Abhishek Chaubey is helming the segment ‘Hungama Hai Kyon Barpa’ that features Manoj Bajapyee as the central character. Gajraj Rao is also playing a prominent role in it.

Srijit Mukherjee has directed two installments ‘Forget me Not’ and ‘Bahrupiya’. The former has Ali Fazal playing the lead role of a corporate big shot, who is described as a man with the memory of a computer. Kay Kay Menon essays the lead in the other film.

Vasan Bala’s directing the segment ‘Spotlight’ in which Harshvarrdhan Kapoor is seen as an actor. It also stars Radhika Madan, Akansha Ranjan Kapoor and Chandan Roy Sanyal.

‘Ray’ is scheduled for world premiere on Netflix on 25 June.

‘Suriya 40’ director Pandiraj celebrated his birthday last day and wishes poured in for him on Twitter. As a token of gratitude, he tweeted by thanking everyone. Along with that, he also informed that 35% of the film’s shoot has been completed. They will be starting the next schedule as soon as the lockdown and other restrictions are lifted. The director also added that the pre-announcement for revealing the title will be made by July. It must be noted that Suriya’s birthday falls on July 23. So it is most likely that the title and first look will be unveiled on the same day.

‘Suriya 40’ is a mass action entertainer with a huge star cast. Priyanka Arul Mohan of ‘Gang Leader’ fame is the female lead. ‘Unnale Unnale’ fame Vinay essays the antagonist’s role. Sathyaraj, Saranya Ponvannan, Jayaprakash, Ilavarasan, Devadarshini, Subbu Panchu Arunachalam and ‘Vada Chennai’ fame Saran will be seen in supporting roles.

On the technical front, the film has Rathnavelu as the cinematographer and the recent National-award winner D Imman as the composer. AnbAriv duo is choreographing the stunts. Sun Pictures is producing the film.

The teaser of upcoming Hindi film ‘Haseen Dillruba’ got released online last day. The film stars Taapsee Pannu, Vikrant Massey, Harshvardhan Rane as the leads. From the teaser, we can make out that it is a murder mystery in which Taapsee and Vikrant play a married couple. The film explores the three shades of love – lust, obsession and deceit

As per the makers, the film’s plot goes like this:

Under investigation as a suspect in her husband’s murder, a wife reveals details of their thorny marriage that seem to only further blur the truth.

‘Haseen Dillruba’ is directed by Vinil Mathew, who made his debut in 2014 with ‘Hasee Toh Phasee’. It is scripted by Kanik Dhillon. She has earlier scripted films like ‘Manmarziyaan’, ‘Kedarnath’, ‘Judgementall Hai Kya’ and ‘Guilty’. The film is jointly produced by T-Series and Colour Yellow Productions Pvt. Ltd.

Amit Trivedi has composed the music and edits are handled by Shweta Venkat Mathew. The film is scheduled for direct Netflix release on July 2.
