Nikki Rae Hallow is excited about the great response for And The Oskar Goes To

‘And The Oskar Goes To’ (ATOGT) is currently in its second week of theatrical run and continues to do well at the box office. The movie has been getting largely positive response from the audience. Critic reviews have also been highly encouraging. The movie is winning hearts for its earnest portrayal of a filmmaker’s life.

The Salim Ahamed directorial tells the story of a film taking its maker to the Oscars. Tovino plays the lead role of a a young filmmaker named Isaak Ebrahem. After years of struggle, he makes his first film which is well received. It is declared as India’s official entry to the Oscars. From here, it’s the journey of how Isaak takes his film to the Academy and the efforts that goes behind it.

Along with Tovino, the movie also stars Siddique, Salim Kumar, Anu Sithara, Lal and Sreenivasan in key roles. Another important role in the movie is played by Canadian actress Nikkie Rae Hallow. She plays the role of Maria, a PR professional who works hard to publicise Isaak’s film. She has given a fine performance in the movie and the same has been pointed out by all critics.

Last day, the makers of ‘ATOGT’ shared a video of Nikkie in which she is seen thanking the audience for the love and support. The visibly excited actress also expressed her gratitude to the makers for offering her this role and she also shared about her wonderful working experience in the movie. Nikkie added that she would love to be part of the Mollywood industry again.

Kakshi Amminippilla is directed by debutant Dinjith Ayyathan and scripted by Sanilesh Shivan. It is centred around the case of newly wed couple. Ahmed Siddique and debutante Fara Shibla play these two major roles. Asif Ali essays the role of advocate Pradeepan, a political aspirant takes up the divorce case. Through this story of an odd couple, the makers have addressed some relevant issues like good parenting, the need for couple getting to know each other before tying the knot and the importance of understanding in a marital life.

Recently, filmmaker-actor Basil Joseph wrote a note on his social media handle after being impressed by the movie. He called it a genuine film that should not be missed from theatres. Being someone who had no filmy background, Basil had to sweat hard to work his way up and in that sense, ATOGT was highly relatable for him and it moved him to tears. Basil’s post reads,

‘And The Oskar Goes To’ is a movie that should not be missed in theatres. It’s full of heart, emotional, and brilliantly performed by the actors. And being a person working in the movie industry, there were so many instances and characters in the movie which I could relate so much to, some of them really made my eyes wet too. And Tovino Thomas aliya, it was a pleasure watching you perform with so much of ease, making your character look so real and memorable. Tovino Thomas is having an excellent season with almost all his releases this year doing well. His most recent outing ‘Luca’ has taken a good opening. Critically, Tovino’s performance has been lauded unanimously. More recently, actress-turned-filmmaker appreciated him for his ‘his endearing and confident performance’. She also wished the team luck. Directed by debutant Arun Bose, ‘Luca’ is a romantic thriller with mystery elements in it. Tovino and Ahanaa Krishna play the lead roles in the movie, which director Arun has scripted the movie jointly with another newcomer, Mridul George. Though romance is part of it, ‘Luca’ is primarily an investigative thriller.

Nithin George, Anwar Shereef, Vineetha Koshy, Thalaivasal Vijay, Jaffer Idukki, Neena Kurup, Chembil Ashokan, Pauly Valsan and Devi Ajith have played shooting roles in the movie. Linto supporting and Prince Hussain have jointly produced ‘Luca’ under the banner of Stories and Thoughts Productions.

Actor Madhavan’s son Vedaant Madhavan has won 3 golds and a silver medal at Junior Nationals Swim meet. The elated father took to his official social media handle to share the happy news. He has written,

With all you Blessings, good wishes and Gods Grace … Vedaant makes us very proud again.. 3 golds and a silver at the Junior Nationals Swim meet. His first individual National medals . Asian next. Thank you so much to GAF MUMBAI and to all at the coaches and team members.

Last year, the 14-year-old Vedaant won his first International medal for India when he bagged a Bronze at Thailand Age Group Swimming Championships in the 1500 m freestyle race. He’s sure making his parents proud.

Meanwhile, Madhavan has just finished shooting for ‘Rocketry’, the Nambi Narayanan biopic, which also marks his directorial debut. It is an ambitious film made as a multilingual in Tamil, English and Hindi.

Release date announced for Vikram’s Kadaram Kondan

Chiyaan Vikram’s new film ‘Kadaram Kondan’ is finally set for release. Last day, dubbing works for the movie was completed and the makers have announced July 19 as the release date. The trailer will be out this coming Wednesday (July 3).

‘Kadaram Kondaan’ is directed by ‘Thoongavanam’ fame Rajesh M Selva. The movie is touted to be an action packed thriller. From the earlier released teaser, it is presumed that Vikram plays the role of a cop in the movie and the actor sports a stylish new salt and pepper bearded look.

‘Kadaram Kondaan’ also has Kamal Haasan’s younger daughter Akshara Haasan, Abi Hasan and Malayali actress Lena essaying key roles. In the technical front, the movie has Srinivasa R Gutha wielding the camera, Ghibran as the music director and Praveen KL handling the edits. Kamal Haasan is producing the movie under his banner Raajkamal Films International. Tridents Arts will be releasing the movie.

A new poster of upcoming movie ‘Margamkali’ has just been released online. The movie stars scriptwriter-turned-actor Bibin George and Namitha Pramod in the lead roles. It is directed by Sreejith Vijayan of ‘Kuttanadan Marapapa’ fame. The new colorful poster features Bibin and Namitha along with Hareesh Kanaran. It gives vibes of a full-on fun filled entertainer.

The movie is being produced jointly by Alwin Antony and Listin Stephen under the banners of Magic Frames and Ananya Films. It is scheduled to hit screens in August.
