Here’s a new poster of Soubin Shahir’s Ambili

Director John Paul George who made an excellent directorial debut with ‘Guppy’ is back after three years with his second film. Titled as ‘Ambili’, the movie stars Soubin Shahir in the lead role. Nazriya Nazim’s younger brother Naveen Nazim and debutante Tanvi Ram are playing the other major roles in the movie. The makers had recently released a new poster featuring Soubin and Tanvi.

As per reports, Ambili is a road drama that has Soubin playing the titular role. Tanvi essays the role of Tina, who is paired with Soubin. Naveen plays the role of an adventure junkie. The movie has reportedly been shot in various states across the country. Sharan Velayudhan, a noted cinematographer in the ad film industry, has wielded the camera for this movie.

Vishnu Vijay, who won the Kerala State award for background music for his work in ‘Guppy’, has been retained for ‘Ambili’ as well. Kiran Das is handling the edits. Mukesh R Mehta, AV Anoop and CV Sarathy are jointly producing the movie under the banner of E4 Entertainment. It is gearing up for release this September.

And The Oskar Goes To enters second week!

It has been exactly a week since the release of Tovino Thomas starrer ‘And The Oskar Goes To’ (ATOGT). Releasing on last Friday (June 21), the movie opened to good response from all corners. Critic reviews have all been largely positive with special mention for Tovino’s performance. The Salim Ahamed directorial tells the story of a film taking its maker to the Oscars.

‘ATOGT’ is one of those films that is instantly relatable to the all those who have a passion for cinema. It follows the life of an aspiring filmmaker and his struggle of to take his movie to the Academy Awards. Director Salim Ahamed scripted the movie partly based on his own experiences and some other real life filmmakers.

Unlike the director’s earlier films, ‘ATOGT’ has a more commercial touch to it, major credits of which should go to its charming lead actor, Tovino Thomas. The actor expertly maintains a powerful restraint throughout and its easily among his career best performances. The movie also has a good set of supporting actors like Siddique, Anu Sithara, Maala Parvathy, Lal, Sreenivasan, Salim Kumar, Zarina Wahab and Appani Sarath.

With the continued support and positive word of mouth in social medias, ‘ATOGT’ is expected to have a good run in the box office.

Mohanlal’s ‘Ittymaani Made in China’ is nearing its final stage of shoot. The team still has a brief leg of shoot planned in China, after which they’ll call it a wrap. Directed by debutant duo Jibi and Joju, the movie is touted to be a fun filled entertainer. Antony Perumbavoor is producing the movie under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas. It is scheduled for release during the Onam season.

Recently, the makers recorded a song rendered by MG Sreekumar for the movie. 4 Musics has composed the song. This is their collaboration with the veteran singer for a Mohanlal film. Previously, they had recorded the track ‘Chinnamma’ with MG Sreekumar’s voice for the movie ‘Oppam’. This new song is penned by Santhosh Varma. Along with MG, Vrindha Shameek and Master Adithyan of Top Singer Fame have lent their voices to this song.

The makers of upcoming movie ‘Porinju Mariam Jose’ have released the first single online. Titled as ‘Manamariyunnolu’, the song is rendered by Vijay Yesudas and Sachin Raj. Jakes Bejoy has composed the song and Jyothish T Kasi has penned the lyrics.

‘Porinju Mariam Jose’ which marks the comeback of veteran director Joshiy has Joju George, Nyla Usha and Chemban Vinod Jose playing the titular roles. Abilash N Chandran has scripted the movie, which is reportedly a Trissur-based family drama cum thriller. Joju George’s character in the movie is named Porinju, while Nyla essays the role of Alappat Mariyam. Chemban Vinod plays the role of Puthanpalli Jose. From the promos and talks within the industry, we presume that the movie has high expectations.

Ajai David Kachappilly has cranked the camera and music by the in-form Jakes Bejoy. Shyam Sasidharan is handling the edits. Rejimon is producing the movie under the banner of Keerthy Movies. Official word regarding the release date is expected to be made soon.

Tamil filmmaker AL Vijay, who got divorced from actress Amala Paul in 2017, is now set to tie the knot once again. The 40-year-old announced his marriage just a while back through a formal press release. He is marrying Dr R Aishwarya with the blessings of his friends and family members. Their wedding is scheduled for next month but the exact date is yet to be revealed.

AL Vijay is well known for helming films like ‘Madrasapattinam’, ‘Deiva Thirumagal’, ‘Thalaivaa’, ‘Saivam’ etc. His last release was ‘Devi 2’ starring Prabhudeva and Tamannah Bhatia in the leads. Vijay got married to Amala Paul in June 2014. The two had worked together in ‘Deiva Thirumagal’ and ‘Thalaivaa’. After two years of married life, in July 2016, they decided to part ways, and in February 2017, they were declared officially divorced.

The 2.27 minute long video captures the various interesting moments that occurred during the shoot. The team shot in dense forests in Wayanad, Mysore and Chhattisgarh. The making video features the efforts that went behind recreating the camp and its surrounding areas.

Olympian PV Sindhu was recently in Kerala when she caught up with an interview for Malayalam radio channel, Club FM. During the casual chat, Sindhu revealed that she is a big fan of Telugu actors Mahesh Babu and Prabhas. When asked about her favorite actor from Malayalam, she said it’s Dulquer Salmaan as she had watched his movies ‘Bangalore Days’ and ‘OK Kanamani’. Though she finds it hard to understand the languages, she watches Malayalam movies with the help of subtitles.

PV Sindhu is the first Indian woman to win an Olympic silver medal, and one of the two Indian badminton players to ever win an Olympic medal – the other being her fellow State mate, Saina Nehwal. Sindhu won silver in Women’s singles at Commonwealth Games 2018 . She was also a silver medalist at the 2017 and 2018 BWF World Championships consecutively. Asif Ali starrer ‘Kakshi Amminippilla’ was released last day. The movie has taken a decent opening with mostly positive reports all around. Both critics and commoners seemed to have taken a liking for the movie. Word of mouth in social medias is very crucial and it so far looks encouraging.

‘Kakshi Amminippilla’ is directed by debutant Dinjith Ayyathan and scripted by Sanilesh Shivan. It is centred around the case of newly wed couple, Shajith Kumar Amminipilla and wife Kanthi Sivadasan. Ahmed Siddique and debutante Fara Shibla play these two major roles.

Asif Ali essays the role of advocate Pradeepan Manjodi, a political aspirant who is initially reluctant but later takes up the divorce case. Through this story of an odd couple, the movie tries to address some relevant issues like good parenting, the need for couple getting to know each other before tying the knot and the importance of understanding in a marital life.

The movie is aided by good performances from all the actors, with the stand out being Fara Shibla. Basil Joseph, Nirmal Palazhy, Sudheesh, Mamukkoya, Sreekanth Murali, Sivadas Kannur, Aswathy Manoharan, Sarayu Mohan and Sarasa Balussery also make a mark.
