Debutant director Prasobh Vijayan’s Lilli was one of the most daring attemps that Malayalam cinema has seen in recent years. An A-rated survival thriller with loads of violence and bloodshed, Lilli got largely positive reviews from the critics. Though the movie failed to emerge as a commercial winner, it was noted by cinephiles. Recently, the movie was released on Netflix and as expected it has become a talk in cine discussion platforms.

Upon Lilli’s theatrical release in September, Dhanesh’s performance was widely talked about. Some of the dialogues and mannerisms by his character could easily irk anyone. Despite being a debutant, Dhanesh imbibed the psychotic nature very well and it is extremely heartening to see his performance being compared with an Oscar winner like Anthony Hopkins.

I’m 100% confident that family audiences will love ‘Ente Ummante Peru’: Urvashi

Debutant director Jose Sebastian’s ‘Ente Ummante Peru’ is all set to hit screens tomorrow (December 21). The movie has Tovino Thomas and veteran actress Urvashi in the lead roles. As the title suggests, the movie traces a beautiful relationship between a mother and her son. Urvashi, who is making a comeback to Malayalam after a brief gap is very confident that the movie would strike a chord with the family audiences.

In a recent interview, Urvashi sounded very hopeful about the film. She committed for the project four years back but it didn’t materialize then due to various reasons. According to her, movies with stories about family relationships will always have takers. After playing the ‘umma’ character in this film, Urvashi wished that she had a mother like that. Her on-screen chemistry with Tovino will be refreshing as this is their first film together.

In the interview, Urvashi added that she did not have to try hard for the dialogues as it was a very organic process. She also lauded her co-star Tovino, who she thinks has excellent humour sense. The veteran firmly believes that this will be one of the best films in Tovino’s career.

Director Jose Sebastian has co-scripted ‘Ente Ummante Peru’ with Sarath R Nair. The narrative follows the journey of Tovino’s character Hameed, who is on the look out for his mother, whom he has never seen in his entire life. Though the subject is very emotional in nature, it is told in a very enjoyable manner. The movie also stars newcomer Saipriya, Shanthi Krishna, Dileesh Pothan, Hareesh Kanaran, Siddique and Mammukoya.

How the supporting characters influence in the characterization of Maari will be the major highlight in the sequel.

Abhishek Sharma is directing the movie and Sonam Kapoor plays the titular role of Zoya. Fox Star Studios and Adlabs Films are jointly funding the movie which is scheduled as an April release, next year.

The Zoya Factor is centred around Zoya Singh Solanki, a PR executive. Zoya was born on the exact moment when Indian cricket team had lifted the 1983 World Cup. She is considered as a lucky charm by the Indian team and media. While everyone consider her lucky, team’s captain Nikhil Khoda and Zoya are always at loggerheads. The former doesn’t believe in luck and relies on performance. Zoya keeps clashing with the Indian skipper, and what follows is a love-hate relationship.

He is a big star down South and I think he’s gonna make his mark in the Hindi film industry as well. I’m very excited about it. He speaks Hindi very fluently and there is no accent, which was very amazing for me to see. And, he’s very cute. Actually, I first saw him in OK Kanmani and I thought he was amazing in it.”

For playing the cricketer’s role in Zoya Factor, Dulquer had trained hard in the sport. Videos of him sweating it out in the nets have gone viral in social medias.
