Sakhavu will have Nivin Pauly’s career best performance

One of the most awaited movies of the year, Sakhavu is gearing up for release on April 15. The movie starring Nivin Pauly in the lead is helmed by National award winner Siddhartha Siva. B Rakesh has bank rolled the movie under the banner Universal Cinema.

Sakhavu is a political drama that features Nivin Pauly as Krishnakumar, a political leader of the Left front. The actor has pinned high hopes on the movie. He had allotted bulk dates for the movie’s shoot. Sources close to the unit inform that Sakhavu will have Nivin’s career best performance. He will be appearing in multiple looks in the movie. In fact, Sakhavu will be his first attempt in a very serious and powerful role.

Nivin himself had earlier informed that it will be an intense movie that will stay etched with the audience even for a long time. According to Nivin, Sakhavu will not just be another political drama. It will have equal doses of humour, romance and machismo.

Aparna Gopinath, Gayathri Suresh and Kollywood actress Aishwarya Rajesh are playing the female leads in the movie. Aparna Gopinath is playing Neeti, a student activist from JNU Delhi. Sreenivasan, Maniyan Pillai Raju, Joju George and many others are also part of the movie.

Popular Kollywood cinematographer George C Williams who has wielded the camera in movies like Theri, Kaththi and Raja Rani, is the DOP. Prashanth Pillai is handling the music department.

Baahubali 2 trailer released

The highly anticipated trailer of director SS Rajamouli’s magnum opus Baahubali: The Conclusion has finally been released.

The 2 minutes 20 seconds trailer is nothing short of magnificence. From what we see in the trailer, it’s certain that the second part will be even better in terms of grandeur in technical values. The trailer was also screened in selected selected theatres in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana.

Baahubali 2 is the sequel to Baahubali : The Beginning, the nationwide blockbuster that was released in 2015. The first part is one of the highest grossing movies ever in Indian cinema. It registered a worldwide business of over 600 crores.

Expectations are sky-high for the sequel. It has already made some unprecedented pre-release business for an Indian movie. According to official reports, the film has done a pre release business of more than Rs 500 crores.

The movie is currently it’s final stages of post production. It is scheduled to hit screens worldwide on April 28. The movie will release simultaneously in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Hindi.

Shobu Yarlagadda and Prasad Devineni have bank rolled the movie under the banner Arka Works.

Queen Malayalam movie motion poster released

The motion poster of the upcoming movie Queen was released today. The movie revolves around the story of a girl who joins mechanical engineering, a stream which is generally considered as a boys fortress.

Queen will be feature newcomers in the lead roles, while some senior actors will also be part of the cast.
The movie is directed by debutant Dijo Jose Antony and written by Jebin Joseph Antony and Sharis Mohammed.

Jakes Bejoy, who was highly appreciated for his score in the recent Tamil whodunit thriller Dhuruvangal 16, is handling the music department. Vishnu Sarma is welding the camera while Sagar Dass is in charge of the edits. 2016 Kerala State Award winner Stephy Xavier has been roped in as the costume designer for Queen.

A new production and distribution company Arabian Dreams and Entertainment headed by Rinshad Vellodathil and Shibu K Moideen are producing this movie. The film will go on floors soon.

Pranav Mohanlal, one of the most celebrated star kids of M Town is all set to make his debut in a lead role. Last year, he had committed to play the lead in director Jeethu Joseph’s action thriller. It was superstar Mohanlal who actually revealed the much awaited news and he is also producing the movie under his banner Aashirvad Cineams.

But how did Pranav agree to do a movie but after being hesitant all these years. We have heard about him turning down many top offers as he was not interested in a career in acting. Mohanlal himself revealed about how he convinced his son to do a movie.

Pranav agreed to consider cinema a career option, only upon one condition. He made it clear that he will act in one movie, and will take a serious decision only after it’s outcome. So, apparently the outcome of Jeethu’s movie will decide whether Pranav will sign more projects in the future.

Mohanlal had earlier said, “Lot of filmmakers, even from Tamil film industry, approached him with scripts. Many ad films were also offered. He told me that he’ll act in Jeethu Joseph’s movie. He feels comfortable working with him as he has already assisted Jeethu in two movies.”

The director had revealed that his movie with Pranav will be an action thriller on the lines of his superhit movie Memories. The star kid recently underwent training in Parkour, a kind of physical training in jumping, running and climbing high rise walls to play his part in the movie perfectly.

Yesterday, the second teaser of Mammootty’s The Great Father was released in Facebook. Unlike the first teaser, the second one was centred around Baby Anikha who plays Mammootty’s daughter in the movie.

What’s interesting is that the teaser has already fetched more views than the teaser of Mohanlal’s 1971 Beyond Borders. While the Mohanlal starrer took 12 days time to reach 1.4 M views, The Great Father’s latest teaser took just 20 hours. Also, the first teaser of The Great Father is nearing it’s one crore mark.

Both the movies are releasing with a week’s gap. The Great Father, written and directed by newcomer Haneef Adeni will hit screens on March 30. It is the most anticipated Mammootty starrer in recent years and hence is expected to have a massive opening. The movie, produced by August Cinemas, stars Kollywood actor Arya, Shaam, Sneha and Malavika Mohan in pivotal roles.

1971 Beyond Borders marks the fifth time teaming up for Mohanlal with Major Ravi. It is a big budget war drama based on the 1971 war. The movie is scheduled to release on April 7. Telugu version of the movie titled as 1971 Baratha Sathiradu, will also release on the same day. The movie will also have a Tamil and Hindi version but the release dates have not yet been announced. It features a stellar star cast in Allu Sirish, Arunoday Singh, Srushti Dange, Zoya Zayed Khan, Asha Sarath, Priyanka Agarwal, Neha Khan and many other prominent actors.

Dulquer Salmaan’s busy with a slew of projects in Tamil and Malayalam

Dulquer Salmaan is currently the most happening star in Mollywood. Right from the youngsters to veterans, every filmmaker in Mollywood is waiting for Dulquer’s dates. The actor already has a handful of highly anticipated projects in his kitty for 2017.

He recently completed the shoot for Soubin Shahir’s debut directorial Parava where he is playing a cameo role. He will soon join the second schedule of Bejoy Nambiar’s multilingual Solo.

Apart from that he has also committed for movies with directors like Salam Bukhari, Lal Jose and two Tamil movies, both with debut directors.

After winding up the second schedule of Solo, he will start shooting for Salam Bukhari’s debut movie in May. It is reportedly a commercial entertainer that features Ezra fame Ann Sheetal as the female lead. There were reports that he is playing a police officer in the movie, but the team has not yet confirmed it.

In July, he will start shooting for his next Tamil movie, which will be helmed by a noted short filmmaker, Desingh Periyasamy. He was was a former associate of Vijay Milton. This will be Dulquer’s third Tamil movie after Vaayai Moodi Pesavum and OK Kanmani.

Dulquer will later join the sets of Lal Jose’s rural entertainer Oru Bhayankara Kamukan in September. The movie is scripted by Unni R, who has previously worked with Dulquer in Charlie and Kullante Bharya (5 Sundharikal).

By the end of the year, the actor will start working on his second Tamil movie of the year. The movie, helmed by debutant Ra Karthik is said to be a romantic travelogue on the lines of Jab We Met and Highway.

The young sensation is currently awaiting the release of CIA aka Comrade In America, directed by Amal Neerad. It is one of the most anticipated Malayalam movies of the year.

Farhaan Faasil has been keeping a low profile ever since the release of his debut movie Njan Steve Lopez in 2014. The movie directed by Rajeev Ravi featured Farhaan in the title role. Eventhough the movie could not taste commercial success, it was widely appreciated by critics and movie buffs after it was released in internet.

Farhaan is now making a comeback after three years through his second movie, Basheerinte Premalekhanam. The movie is a romantic comedy directed by Aneesh Anwar. Mariyamukku fame Sana Althaf will be seen as his romantic interest in the movie.

Veteran actors Madhu and Sheela are playing pivotal roles in the movie. Nedumudi Venu, Joy Mathew, Harish Kanaran, Aju Varghese, Sreejith Ravi, Sohan Seenulal, Sunil Sugatha, Asha Aravind and Sivaji Guruvayoor are also part of the cast.

Vishnu Mohan Sithara is composing music while cinematography is handled by Sanjay Harris, a 20 year old. Notably, he is the youngest cameraman in the history of Malayalam cinema.

Basheerinte Premalekhanam is produced by P M Harris and Mohammed Althaf under the banner Fort Entertainment.

Manju Warrier is awaiting the release of her next movie C/O Saira Banu. The movie is all set to hit screens on March 17. Directed by debutante Antony Sony, the movie also marks the return of yesteryear actress Amala Akkineni to Malayalam cinema after 26 long years.

In a recent interview to Times Of India, Manju Warrier shared about her experience working with Amala. Manju is a self confessed fan of Amala. She became a fan after being impressed with her performance in the movie Ente Sooryaputhrikku.

Manju in the interview is quoted saying, “I was shivering with nervousness, meeting her for the first time! But Amala ma’m was full of positivity and her one smile was enough to make me comfortable. I just melted in her smile and I was drooling over. Throughout the first meeting I was observing her, how she treats people, how down to earth she is and how positive she is.”

Manju also added that it was a fantastic experience to work with Amala. Although Amala has acted in only two Malayalam movies prior to C/O Saira Banu, she is a very familiar face to the audience. She was one of the leading actresses of the South during the 80s and 90s. Her last movie in Malayalam was Ulladakkam in 1991 opposite Mohanlal.

In her C/O Saira Banu, she is playing the role of Annie John Tharavady, an advocate in the movie. The movie promises to be a feel good entertainer dealing with a mother-son relationship. Manju Warrier is playing the role of a post woman while Kismath fame Shane Nigam will also be seen in a major character.

The film is scripted by newbie RJ Shaan and the dialogues are written by Bibin Chandran. Abdul Rahim has handled the camera while Sagar Dass is in charge of the edits. Mejo Joseph is the muisc director. The movie is being bankrolled by Eros international.

Major Ravi- Mohanlal team’s highly anticipated war drama 1971 Beyond Borders is all set to hit screens on April 7 as a Vishu release. According to latest reports, the movie will also have a Tamil and Hindi version. It is learnt that a popular distrubution house have won the rights for the Hindi version. However, the release dates have not yet been announced.

The Telugu dubbed version of the movie titled as 1971 Baratha Sathiradu will also release on April 7. Mohanlal currently enjoys great popularity in the Telugu speaking states after the success of Janatha Garage and Manyam Puli. So, releasing the Telugu version simultaneously will ensure a massive opening for the movie.

1971 BB is a multistarrer featuring prominent actors from many industries. It is made as a pan Indian movie on a big canvas. Telugu industry’s youth star Allu Sirish and Bollywood actor Arunoday Singh will be seen in pivotal roles in the movie. South Indian actress Srushti Dange is playing Allu Sirish’s romantic interest in the movie.

1971 Beyond Borders is based on the 1971 war between India and Pakistan. Mohanlal will be seen in a dual role in the movie. He will be portraying the characters of Major Mahadevan and his father Colonel Sahadevan. This is the fourth movie in the Major Mahadevan series after Keerthichakra, Kurukshetra and Kandahar.

Sujith Vassudev has wielded the camera while Rahul Subramanian and Sidharth Vipin have scored the music. This big budget movie is produced by Haneef Mohammed under the banner Red Rose Creations.
