Megastar Mammootty’s most hyped movie The Great Father is all set to hit screens all over Kerala on March 30. A popular computer institute in Cochin, LCC Computer Education centre is offering a great opportunity to win tickets for the movie.
They are organizing a summer camp for students between the age group of 10-20. They are also conducting a Logical Game Contest section for students who are interested. The winners of the contest will be awarded with special prizes along with tickets for The Great Father.

Fahadh Faasil to play the lead in Paavada director’s next
Fahadh Faasil has been keeping a low profile for over an year now. It has been more than an year since the release of his last movie Maheshinte Prathikaram, a superhit movie.
The actor’s next release will be Take Off, scheduled to hit screens on March 24. He is playing the role of an Indian foreign ambassador in this movie, which marks the debut directorial of editor Mahesh Narayanan.
Fahadh has meanwhile, committed for new movie with director Marthandan. His last movie Paavada starring Prithviraj Sukumaran in the lead was a superhit success. This yet to be titled film will be an out and out comedy entertainer.
Vellimoonga writer Joji Thomas is scripting the movie. Fahadh will be seen in the role of a villager. The movie will have an entertaining screenplay with natural humour. Gopi Sunder will composing the music for this movie. Pradeep Nair will handled the cinematography. Munthirivallikal Thalirkkumbol producer Sophia Paul is funding this movie under the banner Weekend Blockbusters. They are planning to shoot by the end of this month.
Fahadh is currently busy shooting for the final schedule of director Rafi’s comdey entertainer Role Models. Dileesh Pothen’s Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, Venu’s Carbon and debutant Vivek’s Aanengilum Allengilum are some of the other movies in his kitty.
This year, Fahadh will also be making his Kollywood debut through Velaikaaran, directed by Mohan Raja. Sivakarthikeyan, Nayanthara and Sneha are also part of the cast.
It’s been a while since the pack up of Mammootty- Ranjith team’s Puthan Panam. There were unconfirmed reports that the movie will hit screens during the Vishu season in April. Mammootty’s much awaited The Great Father is scheduled to release on March 30, so the Puthan Panam team have postponed the release to May 11.
Mammootty is playing the a rich businessman, Nityananda Shenoy in the movie. A first look poster of the movie was unveiled few days back. Mammootty is seen sporting a salt and pepper look with a thick moustache. The actor will use the Kasargod slang in the movie.
Puthan Panam features Ineya and Sheelu Abraham as the female leads. Siddique, Sai Kumar, Renji Panicker, Mamukoya, Aanandam fame Vishak Nair, Ganapathy, Harish Kanaran, Swaraj, Nirmal Palazhi and many others will be seen in supporting roles.
Popular Kollywood cinematographer Om Prakash who has worked in movies like Maari and Kaashmora is cranking the camera in this movie. Shahabaz Aman is handling the music department.
Puthan Panam is produced by 3 Color Cinemas, a new production company owned by Abraham Mathew (Abam Movies), director Ranjith and actor Arun Narayanan.
Suresh Gopi’s Bharathchandran IPS is one of the most iconic characters in Malayalam cinema. The actor rose to super stardom with his terrific performance as the honest and forthright cop Bharathchandran in Commissioner. The movie, released in 1994, was a product of the Renji Panicker- Shaji Kailas team.
Commissioner was a massive blockbuster. It established Suresh Gopi as a superstar in Malayalam cinema. Renji Panicker’s fierce and powerful dialogues enjoys a cult status in the Malayali pop culture.
Eleven years later a sequel to the movie was made, titled as Bharathchandran IPS. The movie was written and directed by Renji Panicker himself. The sequel was also a superhit success.
Now we hear that Renji Panicker is planning a third part for the movie. According to reports, Liberty Basheer will produce this movie titled tentatively as Bharathchandran Returns. Reportedly, the makers are planning to release the movie by the end of this year.
An official confirmation regarding the same is still awaited from the makers side.
Prithviraj’s last release Ezra has been minting big bucks at the box office. The movie has crossed the 30 crore mark and is going strong in all the release centres even amidst the Oru Mexican Aparatha and Angamaly Diaries wave.
Ezra, directed by debutant Jay K, was promoted to be a one of it’s kind horror thriller in Malayalam cinema and true to the claim, the movie was technically exceptional. Critics unanimously praised the technical values of the movie. Even the movie was shot with a budget of less than 10 crores, the technical brilliance of the movie matched it with some big budget films of Bollywood.
The team have now released the VFX breakdown video. Digital Turbo Media have worked behind the VFX in Ezra. The video shows how the 1940s period of Jewish settlements were recreated. They have used VFX very subtly that we cannot even make out.
Ezra has a Jewish backdrop, an area where not many filmmakers have not ventured into. The movie’s plot is set in two timelines, spanning from the 1940s to 2016.
Popular actress Priya Anand made her Mollywood debut through this movie. Tovino Thomas, Sudev Nair, Babu Antony, Sujith Shankar, debutante Ann Sheetal, Tara Kalyan, Vijayaraghavan and Bharath Dabholkar have played supporting characters.

The sensational teaser released by the team few days back rocketed the expectation levels of the audience. The teaser views is now nearing the magical one crore mark. It is already the most watched teaser ever in Malayalam cinema history. The 33 second teaser features a brilliantly staged mass introduction scene of Mammootty.
The actor is in his swag best with the uber-cool beard, lighting a cigarette and a slow motion walk reminding one of the famous Big B intro. Incidentally, Gopi Sunder who composed the background score in Big B is has also scored for The Great Father.

After two romantic chartbusters, a comedy song from Basheerinte Premalekhanam
Basheerinte Premalekhanam is an upcoming romantic comedy directed by Aneesh Anwar. Farhaan Faasil and Mariyamukku fame Sana Althaf are playing the lead roles in the movie.
A new track, Ondia TV song will be released on March 16, 11 AM in the official YouTube channel of Muzik 24×7. The team had earlier released two songs, Penne Penne and Pranyamanithu in YouTube. Both the songs were romantic tracks with Penne Penne finding the top spot in the hit charts.
Director Aneesh Anwar is known for his movies like Zachachariyayude Garbhinikal and Kumbasaram. Screenplay for the movie is written by Shinod Sivam, Bipin K Paulose, Shamseer Ahamed. Vishnu Mohan Sithara is composing music for the movie. Cinematography is handled by Sanjay Harris. The 20 year old youngster is the youngest cameraman in the history of Malayalam cinema.

Bhavana moves to Kannada after completing the first schedule of Adam Joan
Popular actress Bhavana who recently got engaged to Kannada producer Naveen has started working on her next. She has joined the sets of Kannada movie Tagaru starring Shivaraj Kumar in the lead.
The actress recently completed her portions for the first schedule of her upcoming Malayalam movie Adam Joan, starring Prithviraj in the title role. Narain, Rahul Madhav and Bollywood actress Mishti Chakraborty are also part of the cast. The movie marks the debut directorial of scenarist Jinu Abraham. Jinu has earlier scripted two Prithviraj starrers, Masters and London Bridge.
Adam Joan is a story about a high range planter who manages his family business and properties after his father passes away. Major portions of the movie will be shot in Scotland. Bollywood actress Mishti Chakraborty is playing Prithviraj’s romantic interest while Bhavana will have an equally prominent role in the movie.
Bhavana’s next release will be Honey Bee 2 : Celebrations, the sequel to 2013 superhit movie Honey Bee. The movie directed by Jean Paul Lal, will hit screens on March 23. Bhavana’s Adventures of Omanakuttan, directed by debutant Rohit is also waiting to hit screens. She will be seen as Asif Ali’s romantic interest in the movie.
Bhavana will also be playing the female lead in the Telugu remake of superhit Malayalam movie Charlie, where she will be reprising Parvathy Menon’s from the original.
Mohanlal’s Villain will have some great action sequences and special effects
Shoot for Mohanlal’s next with B Unnikrishnan titled as Villain is currently progressing. Mohanlal is playing the role of an ex-cop and the actor is seen sporting a salt and pepper bearded look for the movie.
Sources close to the unit inform that the movie will have some great action sequences in addition to exceptional special effects. Peter Hein has been roped in to choreograph the stunts along with Stunt Silva. Peter Hein recently worked with Mohanlal in Pulimurugan to deliver some stunning action sequences.
Unlike Pulimurugan where the stunts were wild and ferocious, the action blocks in Villain will be more stylish and refined. Mohanlal had shed a few kilos before starting the shoot as his character in the movie demanded a trimmer look.
Villain is a stylish thriller that will have much significance to special effects. An international company from Poland have been roped in to handle the same. It is also said to be the first Indian movie to be shot completely in 8K resolution. Manoj Paramahamsa known for his works in movies like Nanban and Vinnai Thandi Varuvaya, is the DOP. He is using the Helium 8K camera in the Weapon series of the RED Digital Cinema Camera Company.
The movie also boasts of a huge star cast in Manju Warrier, Tamil actor Vishal, Telugu actor Srikanth, Hansika Motwani and Raashi Khanna. Manju Warrier will be seen as Mohanlal’s wife while Raashi Khanna is playing a cop in the movie.
Music for the movie composed by Oppam fame 4 Musics. Rockline Venkatesh who has produced movies like Lingaa and Bhajrangi Bhaijaan, is funding this big budget movie.
