Here is what Prithvi has written on his Facebook page,

COURAGE
———–

Some of the most poignant moments in my life have been punctuated with moments of incredible courage. Courage from what I have now fully realised are God’s most benevolent yet intricate creations. WOMEN!
From a mother picking up pieces of a suddenly derailed life, to bring up two young boys to be the men they are today..to a wife who at the fag end of a 40 hour labour, just as she was being cut open without an anaesthetic, holding my hand and telling me “It’s alright Prithvi”..I have repeatedly been dumbfounded in realising how much of a lesser being I am in the company of the women in my life.
And today..as my dear friend walks in to the sets to kick start the shooting of her new film “ADAM”, I once again bear witness to an extraordinary moment of courage from an extraordinary woman in my life! Today..she makes a statement..a statement that will echo through time, space and gender..that no one or no incident has control over your life but YOU! A statement that will now be part of counselling sessions and pep talks around the world. A statement that you my friend..are making in a million unheard voices!
And to those voices I apologise..for at an age and time when I wasn’t wise enough..I have been part of films that celebrated misogyny..I have mouthed lines that vilified regard for your self respect and I have taken a bow to the claps that ensued. NEVER AGAIN..never again will I let disrespect for women be celebrated in my movies! Yes..I’m an actor and this is my craft! I will whole heartedly trudge the grey and black with characters that possess unhinged moral compasses…but I will never let these men be glorified or their actions justified on screen.
Once again..ladies and gentlemen..stand up and applaud for her! Behind the gutsy spunk, there is a vulnerable celebrity who knew well enough what this decision of hers would mean to a life under constant scrutiny. But she also knew..that she had to see it through…for that would set an example..light a torch that will show a path for many to follow!Today she makes a statement..
A statement of extraordinary courage!
Fanboy for life…dear friend..fanboy for life!
Love always,
Prithvi.

A round of applause for Prithviraj for his coming forward and accepting his mistakes and honestly promising to rectify it.

Dileep was very upset when I called him: Lal

Six days after the attack on a popular actress in Kochi, the police nabbed the prime accused Pulsar Suni and one of his close acquaintances. The police have now arrested all the accused in the case.

The actress on that ill fated night went to director Lal’s house to seek refuge. It was Lal who informed the police about the assault. The director consciously stayed away from the police all these days, but finally decided to talk to the media today.

While talking to the media he said that actor Dileep was very upset about his name being dragged into the issue. When Lal called Dileep over phone, he sounded very upset and distressed about his name being unnecessarily involved in the case. Several online medias and newspapers, reported about Dileep’s involvement in the attack. It was even reported that he was questioned by the police, as part of the investigation for the case.

Finally, Dileep had to write a post in his official Facebook page to clear all the confusion and prove his innocence. The actress’ family members also denied the involvement of any actors in the case. The media’s tendency to cook up stories and circulate false reports were criticized severely by many celebrities and social media users.

Rima Kallingal lashes out at moral policing

Moral policing has become a very sensitive issue with incidents being reported frequently. Recently, a couple was harassed in Azheekal beach in Kollam by a group of men. They assaulted couple and captured the visuals on their phone. The video went viral in social medias triggering widespread discussion about this anti social activity where people have started to take law in their hands.

Aneesh, the victim in the incident was found hanging in a tree near his home at Attappady in Palakkad.

Actress Rima Kallingal, one of the very few socially committed actors has raised her voice against moral policing through a post in her official Facebook page.

The post reads,

Recently while shooting at Alapuzha, a young boy came up to me asking for my autograph and I signed ‘Love, Rima.’

He came back to me after some time asking me to omit the word ‘love’. He feared his friends would make fun of him.

We have a younger generation growing up scared of the word ‘love’. And it could say a lot on how and who they are going to grow up into.

The rampant moral policing events at Azheekal, Nattika and more , the University college event where Soorya Gayathri, Asmitha and Jijesh were harassed, the gender segregation at Farook college and Maharajas college Principal making sexual innuendos about friendships and relationships between boys and girls… all adds up to forming a social psyche and a moral fibre that screams out that there is something unnatural about a boy and girl being together. In any which way.

Gender education and sensitisation is the need of the hour.

Our CM and DGP has come out strongly against moral policing. But what will be the immediate action taken against the people who harassed the couple at Azheekal beach?

Even if they are punished, who will punish a society who slyly harassed them and drove him to suicide? Who will and how will we change the attitude of a part of the society who is waiting for the mobile clip to come out?

Whatever said and done, a life is gone. He is no more.

Earlier chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan also condemned the act of moral policing and directed the DGP to strick action against the perpetrators in the Azheekal beach incident. He had said that such criminal activities will not be tolerated in Kerala.

He also revealed that he had given a full bound script to Mohanlal but it has not been taken forward.

Jayaraj, a National award winner, is one of the most underrated directors in Mollywood. Ottal, his previous movie before Veeram, was the first ever Malayalam movie to have swept all the top awards in the 20-year history of the International Film Festival of Kerala. It was screened at the International Film Festival of India in Goa. The movie won the National Award for Best adapted screenplay and won the award for Best Film on Environment Conservation/Preservation.

Even after being such a successful director, Jayaraj has not had the privilege to work with Mohanlal. We wish they both sort out the dates and soon join hands for a project.

The company has only two ladies staff. Both of them don’t have an Emirates ID card or passport. They don’t have medical insurance or enough money for even recharging their phones.
