Prithviraj-RS Vimal team all set to begin Karnan, script work completed !

The glad news is coming in and it says that RS Vimal had completed the screenplay of his upcoming big budget film Karnan. Prithviraj is playing the lead of this film as he plays the title character of Karnan in this flick. The film had launched almost 3 months back in a function conducted at UAE and a motion poster is also released along with that. Later RS Vimal had started the scripting process and today he had posted in his Facebook account that he had completed the screenplay of the film.

The date of shooting is not yet revealed to the media and the reports says that the shoot will start without much delay. The film will have a budget above 50 crore as per reports and will be the biggest budget film ever made in Mollywood. It will be making in Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu and Hindi. Popular stars from all these languages will become a part of this movie. The cameraman of this film will be Senthil Kumar who had done the DOP of epic film named Bahubali.

RS Vimal earlier said that it will be more like an interpretation of Mahabharatha through the character of Karnan. His views about Karnan will be the central plot of this film more than directly taking incidents from Mahabharatha. RS Vimal had already visited locations travelling all around India, for this epic film.

My next film will be in Malayalam, says Theri director Atlee !

Theri, the Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay starrer is all set to release all over on the coming April 14th and the trailer of the film released a week back is making records in YouTube views. The trailer is received by all very well and now the expectation is very high about the film. Along with the release of the trailer, another speculation also started to do its round in social media that Vijay is playing a Malayali character in this movie and he even uttering Malayalam dialogues in it. Reportedly he is playing 3 characters in this film and one of which is named as Joseph Kuruvila, is a Malayali character.

Director Atlee confirms it as well now. But he said that whether Vijay uttering Malayalam dialogues in this film or not will remain as a suspense till the release. He also said that he loves Kerala and loves Malayalam films a lot. Atlee also said that he is planning to do a Malayalam film and if everything goes according to the plan, then his next film will be in Malayalam.

Atlee said that almost 40% of the film Theri is happening here in Kerala and God’s own country plays a crucial role in the narration of the story of this film. He said that many popular Mollywood actors acted in it as well. Kottayam Pradeep, who earlier worked in Tamil films like Vinnaithandi varuvaya and Raja Rani, will be seen in Theri too. Atlee said that along with Kottayam Pradeep, almost 200 artist from Kerala had done small and big roles in this film. The Malayalam dialogues in this film is first written in Tamil by Atlee himself and later converted it into pure Malayalam with the help of his Malayali friends.

Atlee said that he always love Kerala for its nature, beautiful sceneries, Food and people. That is why, in all his films, Kerala reference comes. He also explained that his film has no connection with any real life incidents and it is a pure fictional subject. Anyway, let’s wait for this film and let’s see whether Vijay speaking Malayalam in it or not.

Kali Review

The new release in Mollywood this week is Kali, which released today all over. The film was a much anticipated one mainly due to two factors which you all know. First one is that it is the second film from the team of Sameer Thahir and Dulquer Salmaan after Neelakasham Pacha Kadal Chuvanna Bhoomi. The second reason for anticipation around this movie is the presence of Sai Pallavi as the female lead opposite Dulquer Salmaan. This is her second film only and the reception she got through the film Premam was just fabulous. Among all this hype, the film had hit more than 110 screens here in Kerala today.

The central characters of this film is Sidharth and Anjali played by Dulquer Salmaan and Sai Pallavi respectively. The film develops around those two characters. They are married after a college love affair. The story starts with the incident of Anjali leaving the house after picking up a quarrel with Sidharth. Sidharth has an issue with his short tempered nature. In flash back sequences it shows that he had this issue from his childhood. It affect his life later. It affected his job life as he had to try many companies to find a job. Later he got job in a bank. While things going that way, this short tempered behaviour of him lands their life in to a big problem and from there the film follows the path of a thriller

Sameer Thahir once again become successful in presenting a film which is realistic as well as entertaining with a different story. Just like his first film, Kali is also aimed more at the mindset of young generation and youth audience seems to be the primary target of the makers. Rajesh Gopinathan’s screenplay was engaging and has emotional depth in it. They had successfully created a thriller mood in the second half of the film as well. But it feels that the film ended too soon due to its much less duration. That may be feel as a drawback for some.

Performance from artists are the real plus points of this film apart from the technical side. Dulquer Salmaan once again done a splendid job and his screen presence was just amazing. We saw it in Charlie too that with screen presence he can make you fall in love with his character. The character of Sidharth was not a usual type role for him. The character has different shades and he had balanced it well with controlled acting. Sai Pallavi also done a decent job. But when compared to her performance in Premam, we may feel at places that the easiness was not there in her acting. The dubbing also seems to have not worked well for her at many areas. We may even feel that some other actress could have been done a much better job as Anjali.

Soubin Shaheer had got applause from the audience for his numbers as usual and artists like Chemban Vinod, Vinayakan, Anjali Aneesh Upasana etc done a decent work. Gopi Sundar had done a fair job with his tunes for the film and Gireesh Gangadharan’s DOP was excellent as well. His visual was really gave the desired atmosphere for the film and the mood the plot wanted was well taken care of by him. Vivek Harshan’s editing was also nice as he does his best always.

In total, Kali is a one time watchable romantic thriller. There not anything extraordinary in it. But it will not disappoint you if you does not have the burden of great expectation. If you love romantic thriller, then Kali is a decent choice for you.

Nivin Pauly, the young actor is continuing his amazing box office run as he is making news after news related to the success of his films. Last year we saw two blockbusters from him such as Oru Vadakkan Selfie and Premam. Premam is one of the biggest hits ever in this industry and second only to Drishyam in its success height. As per the latest news, the film had completed its 300 day run at Tamil Nadu and it is a unique record for a Malayalam film there at Chennai. It was released on February 4 this year and started off with mixed reviews. Even though critics received it well, common audience gave mostly negative reviews. But it was only due to the high expectation and in fact wrong expectation they had about the film. But Nivin Pauly and Abrid Shine, who jointly produced the film adopted proper marketing strategies and all that to make people know about what really the film is and the result was fantastic. The flick had come back strongly in box office and now crossed 50 days in 50 screens in Kerala. The gross of the film also coming close to 15 crore from Kerala alone.

Nivin Pauly is making sure that he is selecting the right scripts and also making his film to reach to the people through proper marketing methods. People have great expectations from him now and he is aware of that as well. His next film, which will be releasing on this April is Jacobinte Swargarajaym directed and scripted by Vineeth Sreenivasan. Then he will do the Althaf directorial film and there is a Tamil project also for him this year.

Nivin Pauly is going great and it is like he got the right track to move forward rapidly.

The reporter asked her a question which means what is the rate she charging to spend a night with others. She had come to Surat as a part of holy celebrations there. A reporter from a popular national media asked her this question which is insulting and has double meaning. It had just provoked her and she ended up slapping him publicly.

He had asked her that after becoming a Bollywood star, what is her rate for night programs and she told him to repeat the question again. He repeated the same and Sunny Leone had gave him a slap on his face right in front of the hotel staff and others who were there at that time. After slapping him, she went to her room. There were no reports that the media reported had filed a case against her.

Earlier it was news when media person Bhoopendra Choube had insulted her by asking some question that insults her publicly. Bhoopendra had said that it was due to Sunny Leone that India become a center of attraction in porn map of this world. He also asked her whether Aamir Khan will act with her or not as she told him that it is her dream to do a film with Aamir. But Aamir Khan said that he would love to work with Sunny Leone and he has no problems with her past. People like Rishi Kapoor, Gaurav Kapoor and Alia Bhatt also came and supported her in this issue.

Recently she came to Kerala as well and actor Jayasurya who met her said in his Facebook page that Sunny Leone is an individual with a respected personality and her behavior and attitude was too good. He said that she in fact cleared all wrong notions about her from his mind after that meeting with her. Sunny Leone had thanked Jayasurya for his kind and positive words for her through replying to him in that Facebook post.

Will Kali break Loham first day collection record ?

Kali, the Sameer Thahir directorial film starred by young star Dulquer Salman and new sensation Sai Pallavi is hitting the screens all over Kerala tomorrow. The film is coming with a lot of hype around it and expected to take a bumper opening at box office. Dulquer Salmaan is the biggest crowd puller among the new generation of actors in Mollywood. But the big question in everyone’s mind right now is whether Kali will be able to set a new opening day collection record by breaking the collection record set by Loham starred by Mohanlal and directed by Renjith.

Loham had set a collection record of 2.54 rupees from its first day and the second best is another Mohanlal starrer named Casanova which grossed around 2.13 crores in the year 2011, on its opening day from Kerala alone. Dulquer Salmaan is the only actor other than Mohanlal who crossed 2 cr gross on the opening day of his film. It was Charlie which released in last year’s Christmas season which done it for Dulquar Salman. Charlie had got a figure of 2.06 crores on its first day from Kerala.

Loham had released in 141 screens all over Kerala and Charlie had released around 121 screens. Kali tomorrow releasing in 110 screens all over Kerala and everyone is anticipating a great opening which can go over 2 crore rupees gross on the first day. But breaking Loham record is very tough.

Because Nivin Pauly film action hero Biju had come with an expectation to break that record by releasing in 131 screens all over Kerala. But it only managed to get a figure around 1.59 crore on its first day. Kali has lesser number of screens than Action Hero Biju and it is releasing on a time in which exams are still not over in Kerala.

The main target of the film seems to be youngsters and the exam season may make then stay out of the theater till March 28, as exams will be over by that date. So the first day opening can suffer a slump due to that. But nothing can be predicted as it is a Dulquer Salmaan-Sameer Thahir film.

Jijo Antony directorial film Darvinte Parinamam (Darwinte Parinamam) which is produced and starred by Prithviraj Sukumaran is doing average business at box office. The film which released on March 18 had opened with mixed reviews and have to say that it does not get great number of positive reviews from the critics or from the common audience.

The high expectation from a Prithviraj film may have the reason for that. But the film had took a great opening at box office by raking in 1.48 crores in its first day from Kerala. As per reports coming from various sources, the first week collection of the film may touch rupees 4.3 crores.

After the huge first day opening, there was a considerable slump in collection due to mixed reports and the working days showed more drop because of the exam season that is going on all around Kerala. From this week, other Summer releases will come including the films of Dulquer Salmaan, Dileep, Nivin Pauly etc and it will surely affect Darvinte Parinamam at box office.

Nivin Pauly to shed some weight for his upcoming movie

Young actor Nivin Pauly is all set to lose some amount of weight to get ready for his upcoming film directed by Althaf. You all may already know Althaf, who had done a small role in Premam, as the plus two student who is the friend of the character named Mary played by Anupama Parameshwaran. Althaf is making his directorial debut through this film starring Nivin Pauly.

Nivin Pauly had sported 3 different looks in Premam and later doing the role of a police officer in Action Hero Biju, he had gained some weight as well. This upcoming Althaf movie will be a family entertainer with some romantic comedy in it as well. So Althaf wants Nivin Pauly to be slimmer than what he is now.

Nivin Pauly had acted in Jacobinte Swargarajyam this year and in that film he maintained the body shape he had in Action Hero Biju, as Vineeth Sreenivasan does not wanted any weight loss from Nivin Pauly for his character. It is a complete family entertainer and not a romantic comedy like stuff. But Althaf film has that elements and when they conducted a look test for actors for the film, they felt that Nivin Pauly had to shed some weight to look apt for the role.

Nivin Pauly says that he is not doing anything extra ordinary to lose weight. But he is doing proper exercise and also going with diet to control the weight. Nivin Pauly said that the scripting of the film is in its final stage and by the time it get completed, he will be ready for the role with an apt body weight. As per reports, many artists we saw in Premam will be there in this film too.

A New face has been selected to play the female lead in this movie and her name is Aishwarya Lakshmi. She is a model and selected to the film after the screen test they conducted for the heroine character. Nivin Pauly ’s next release will be Jacobinte Swargarajyam and it will reportedly hit the screens on April 8, as a vishu release.
