One film through the perspective of three directors and its called Malgudi Days

Malgudi Days is the upcoming Malayalam film directed by a director trio for the first time in Indian Cinema. They are Visakh, Vivek and Vinod and the film is also scripted by them. The flick has Anoop Menon and Bhama playing the lead role along with some young children as well. The film is slated for an early 2016 January release and Vishak, one of the directors of this film speaking to Onlookers Media in an interview, about the film and their expectations.

Why this title Malgudi Days to the film..? Is it have any resemblance to the popular television series with the same name based on the work of RK Narayan..?

Not really. It does not have any resemblance with the story of R K Narayan and its television version. We used that name only for a nostalgic purpose. Malgudi in RK Narayans story is a fictitious place. Like that our story also happens in a fictitious school which is also named as Malgudi.

How you reached to the subject of this film..?

The film tells a real life incident that happen many years back. The incident was in the background a school. So we weaved a plot around that incident and made in to the format of a cinema.

The unique thing about the film is the direction side. It has 3 directors, may be the first time in India. Even when a film has two directors, difference of opinion ought to happen. Then how you al managed within 3 of you..?

From the discussion time of this film to its writing, we three are together. This film is made of using the ideas of all of us. So we decided to direct it together as well. And when it comes to the difference of opinion, yes, it was there but it all did good for the total output of the film as it give us the opportunity to find out what is good and what is bad by assimilating different perspective and logical reasoning.

The background of the film is a school as you said and now what about the background of the lead characters played by Anoop Menon and Bhama in this film..?

Anoop Menon is a painter in this film and his name is Shefan. Bhama is his wife and her name in the film is Janet. Apart from that two school children also plays key roles in this movie and the story tells us how the lives of these four get intertwined.

Now What about the background of the three of you ..?

We are brothers and I am a computer engineer by profession. Second brother Vivek is a Veterinary Doctor. The third one Vinod is an electronic Engineer and he is working in Bangalore as well.

You all are youngsters and does not have much experience as well in the film industry.. Does it gave you any troubles while you proceed with the plan to make your script to a film..?

It does not created any problems for us. First of all we have very well planned each and everything related to the film. Then the confidence shown by Anoop Menon in us was really a confidence booster. We had the idea about filming through reading a lot about cinema and also watching shooting. But we must say the planning was the key. If you have the cinema in your mind and you written it down to paper, then filming it not that difficult as you think. We met Anoop Menon not just with the script, but with all the details such as locations and even with songs recorded.

Prabhas will not be a part of SS Rajamouli’s Bahubali 3 ?

Bahubali created a buzz in the Indian film industry this year and after almost 5 months of its release, it is still making news and all that. The second part, Bahubali- The Conclusion is filming now in Hyderabad and as per reports it is going in quick pace as well. People have great anticipation for the second part as the climax of the first part was such that each and every one who watched the film will be eager to see what happens in the second part.

But few months back the director SS Rajamouli gave a hint through his twitter account that there may be a great chance for a part 3 for Bahubali. He said that but that part 3 of the film will not have much relations to the first two parts as well. But the most latest update on the Bahubali part 3 is saying that the male lead of Bahubali part 1 and part 2 will not be there in the 3rd part, if it happens.

The news was revealed by a Tamil magazine and as per their report, the script writer of the Bahubali, and the father of Rajamouli , Vijayendra Prasad said that the 3rd part of Bahubali will have an entirely different plot from the first two parts and there will not be characters like Bahubali, Kattappa etc in the 3rd part. Many other key characters who were in the first two parts will not be there in the third part as well.

The 3rd part of the film is not yet confirmed and now everyone wants to hear the opinion of director S S Rajamouli about this report came in the name of his father. Bhaubali 2 is planning as a 2016 December release and they still not set any specific date for release as well. The second part said to be much bigger than the first part with more fight sequences, war sequences and visual effects as well. The expectation level is damn too high and hope that SS Rajamouli will deliver again with his great directorial skill.

The latest hot news in Mollywood was actor Siddique’s comments about Kanchanamala, whose love story with Moideen had got epic status here with success of RS Vimal directorial film named Ennu Ninte Moideen. But actor Siddique had come out against her in a recent media interview as he said that who made her the brand ambassador of love in Kerala. He opined that even the life and sacrifice of each ordinary women in Kerala is greater than her love and she undeservingly taking the credit herself.

He also asked, who is Kanchanamala really, to make a comment about Mammootty and Mohanlal. Siddiqur said that the success of Moideen was the skill of RS Vimal and not because of Kanchanamala’s love story. But now Kanchanamala come out against Siddique with a strong reply.

She said that she did not even care such worthless criticism on her and she says that it is the foolishness of such people to criticize her in baseless matters. Kanchanamala said that she did not know Siddique personally and he also does not know her in that sense. She only knows Dileep who came to help her charitable trust in the name of Moideen. She said that the people Mukkam knows the love story of her and Moideen and they knows the depth and purity of it. She did not want anyone’s certificate to prove that.

She said that there are many people who is against her and Siddique may be one among them as well. She did not have time to give her ears for such criticisms as well. She said that she suggest Prithviraj for Moideen’s role only because of his face cut that is similar to Moideen. As an actor she loves Mohanlal and in personality she loves Mammootty. She liked Suresh Gopi after watching Kodeeshwaran as well. She said that as an actor she likes Siddique as well.

Kanchanamala said that before and after Moideen’s death there were many marriage proposals came for her. But she believed in her love for Moideen and its purity and immortality.

Double Barrel

This Lijo Jose Pellissery film was a highly anticipated one due to its Multi-star cast including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Indrajith Sukumaran, Arya, Sunny Wayne, Asif Ali etc. It was financed by Prithviraj as well. And to be honest it was the biggest disaster of this year and grossed only around 3-4 crore from box office.

Ennu Ninte Moideen

The string of box office failures for Prithvi is just over from September 19, the day on which RS Vimal directorial Ennu Ninte Moideen released. The epic love story of Moideen and Kanchanamala had become a classic through this film and it had become the first solo Blockbuster of Prithviraj as well. The film had collected around 40 crore from Kerala alone as per reports and now on the way to become the second biggest hit of All-time in Kerala box office.

It has to be noted that all the 3 successes of Prithvi this year is with debutant directors like R S Vimal, Nadirsha and Sachi. This year also witnessed him crossing the 100 crore total business mark in Mollywood for the first time by any actor here through all his films released this year as well. What made him different from other stars this year is, he had balanced well with characters that challenges him as an actor and also boost his star value. Hope he will continue his good run next year as well.

Film stars are the ones which gives most of the amounts to the relief funds and also trying their best to help Chennai through whatever way they can. Now as per the latest report, Bollywood actor Shahrukh Khan is declared that he will donate the first day gross collection of his upcoming release named Dilwale directed by Rohit Shetty , to the relief fund of Chennai disaster.

It is a much anticipated film and the first day gross of the film is expected to be around 40 crores. If the report that came in is true and Shahrukh Khan kept his word, then it will be the highest donation in terms of amount to the Chennai flood relief fund. We still don’t know the authenticity of this report as it is doing its round in social media in the name of some popular national news channel.

Some are already came against this saying that it is another marketing strategy by the King Khan to promote his film and nothing more than that. But we have to know the fact also that Shahrukh Khan was honored by UNESCO once for his charity activities. So he may not be cheating or somewhat in the name of a natural disaster. Some says that even if it is for promotion, if he give half of the first day gross of his film Dilwale to the Chennai Flood Relief Fund, then it will be a great contribution to the city of Chennai.

Rohit Shetty had earlier made a film with Shahrukh in the lead and it was titled as Chennai Express and shot many scenes at Tamil Nadu as well. The Kerala distribution of the film Dilwale has been taken up by Sun Ads and Film Production Company who had successfully distributed Malayalam Film Ayal Njanalla and Tamil film Urumeen here in Kerala.

But later some comments made her in different issues made some people tell that who the hell is Kanchanamala to interfere in all matters in Kerala and in Malayalam cinema. Actor Siddique is now come out against her remarks on certain issues and also her attitude after she got popular through that movie which told her life story.

Siddique asks that what the so called immortality or bliss in the love of Kanchanamala as some celebrates. He says that she loved Moideen and later remained unmarried after the death of Moideen in memory of him. But what about the women of Kerala who dedicates their whole life to their husbands and children , sacrificing all their personal wishes, comforts etc. He says that it is there love is that which is immortal and blissful. It has to be celebrated rather than Kanchanamala’s. He says that Kanchanamala can’t become the ambassador of Love as there are many around us who are just living like her. So why she is been getting special treatment.?

Siddique said that she herself thinks that she is above many and making some remarks on that ground about others. He said that every art is an imitation of life and it is the skill of the artist that makes it immortal. Kanchanamala can’t boast that it is because of her life that RS Vimal got the success through Ennu Ninte Moideen. Siddique said that why she is saying that if she was not said the name of Prithviraj as the male lea in this film, this film would not have been happened..? Even if she had told nothing about Prithviraj, RS Vimal could have cast him as the male lead.

Then Siddique asks angrily that who the hell she is and what she think of herself to pass remarks on leading actors of Malayalam cinema using bad words. Kanchanamala reportedly mocked Mohanlal and Mammootty using some words which is like insulting their physique and age. Siddique said that all the credit of Ennu Ninte Moideen film and its success was deserved by RS Vimal and not Kanchanamala. He is the last word in the matter of that film and Kanchanamala is nothing in front of him related to that film.

Airtel 4G advertisement is the most viewed Television advertisement recently in India as the Airtel 4G campaign was highly successful through that ad. We all are familier with all those ads related to it and we all know the girl who is acting in that advertisement. But till now many of them don’t know her name and just called her the 4G girl. Her name is Sasha Chettri and she had now created a record in Mini screen with that Airtel 4G ad.

She is been in front of the eyes of 1.2 billion Indian every day through mini screen as all Television channel continuously airing the Airtel 4G campaign through all cities, villages and it reaches every home in India. It had made her the star of Mini screen as even the most popular celebrities in India did not get the screen space in Mini Screen as this youngster gets through that ad.

According to the survey report of the Broadcast Audience Research Council India (BARC), when they collected data between September 19 and November 20 of this year, the Airtel 4G ad was aired a whopping 54,406 times which is when calculate becomes 1708586 seconds on screen. It means in that period Sasha Chettri was on Mini screen almost 475 hours or in other words almost 20 days fully.

Jagadish Acharya, The founder and director of creative agency Cut the Crap says that Shasha Chettri can be called as the Lalitaji of 2015. That itself is a great achievement for her and without doubt she is the most popular figure in advertisement in India through that one single Airtel 4G campaign.

Ennum Eppozhum

This flick directed by Sathyan Anthikkad was his second release this year which came in March last week. In box office performance it was a super hit with 11 crore gross and playing close to 9K shows. But have to say that the film is not at all up to the mark when we think of a Mohanlal- Sathyan Anthikkadu film as they had given many classics.

Mythri

This is the Malayalam dubbed version of a kannada film acted by him and it was a failure here. We can’t blame him for that aswell because he just played an extended cameo in it. Kannada films usually does not have any market here and that also affected the film. Even though it was a super hit in Kannada and Mohanlal got appreciation there.

Laila O Laila

The film by Joshiey was a big failure at box office. The film had raised great anticipation before release but failed miserably to impress the audience. Mohanlal had nothing to do in it as an actor or as a star as he had just sleep walked through the film owes to a bad screenplay and disastrous direction. Here again the film selection of Mohanlal have to questioned.

Loham

This film was a highly anticipated film of this year from Renjith- Mohanlal team. The film followed an experimental style and generated mixed reviews. But Mohanlal showed his box office power and once again proved that in crowd pulling he is the best here. The film had collected a gross above 13 crore and attained super hit status despite reviews which are mostly negative. The film had created a record as well as it had become the highest first day grosser in Mollywood history by grossing 2.16 cr from its first day from Kerala alone. It surpassed Mohanlals own casanovva record of 2.13 cr.

Kanal

Even though the film had something different in it in its story telling, it was also a disappointment for Mohanlal as it had failed in box office as well. The film had only got a gross around 3.5 crores from box office and made no impact critically and commercially as well.

Mohanlal have to understand what he is capable of and had to choose wisely. Financially his films were safe as his crowd pulling capacity is unbelievable. But he is an actor first, then only a star. So he had to choose characters that challenges him as an actor. He had lots of great and big project coming next year and hope that he will be back to his charismatic best in near future.

Poornnima is popular in Kerala as an actress, anchor, model etc and above all everyone now knows her as the wife of actor Indrajith Sukumaran. Poornnima says that she is very proud of her husband Indrajith and in fact it Indrajith is her luck, she says. She says Indrajith never pressurize her with anything and that’s why she says that Indrajith is her luck.

Poornima had made her entry to Malayalam cinema through the film Onnu Muthal Poojyam Vare which had Mohanlal in the lead role. Later she acted in many films in mollywood and most of them are popular as well. After her marriage, she acted only in very few films as she chose to be with her family than in limelight of the film industry.

She is now doing many Television programs as it needs only a little time of her life and she also running a Fashion Designing institution as well named Praana. Poornnima says that the support of her family is the power behind her each and every step in life and that also worked behind the Fashion Designing institution as well. Indrajith at the same time going great as an actor as he is one of the busiest young actor in Kerala right now.
