Playback singer Radhika Thilak passes away

Mollywood’s evergreen playback singer Radhika Thilak passed away today at a private hospital in Ernakulam. Radhika Thilak has been a part of Malayalam Cinema for the past 20 years rendering many great performances on her name.She was admitted at the hospital because of fever and was under treatment. She was a cancer patient. This amazing singer has sung more than 60 songs in her career in Mollywood.

Radhika Thilak had rendered her voice for the famous music directors like Ilayaraja,Berny Ignatius, Johnson, Raveendran, MG Radhakrishnan, Mohan Sithara, Vidyasagar etc. She started her career by singing for the 1989 movie Pachilathoni where the music direction was done by Berny Ignatius and lyrics was written by Shibu Chakravarthy.

The deceased news of Radhika Thilak has shocked the Mollywood industry and the music lovers of Kerala. Her song Mayamanchalil song from the movie Ottayal Pattalam composed by Sharreth is still one of those songs which brings this amazing singers talent and memories. Starting with Berny Ignatius she was blessed to work with many other musicians in her singing career. Other prominent songs of hers were for the movie Guru in which she sung songs like Arunakiranadeepam, Guru Charanam and Devasangeetham. She has sung duets with K J Yesudas, M G Sreekumar, G Venugopal etc. She had a career spanning from 1989 – 2009 in the Malayalam film industry.

Radhika Hari who was in the midst of malayalis with her songs will be still there in the hearts of millions and will be remembered for her contributions to the industry. Let’s all pray for her soul and may her soul rest in peace.

Shankar’s Enthiran 2 coming to smash Baahubali records ?

Shankar who has been the magic behind films like Mudhalvan, Indian, Anniyan, Enthiran, I etc is all set to prove his space in Tamil cinema with his Enthiran 2.There has been people who believed that Shankar is the only Indian film director and producer who is capable of doing big budget movies. But with the movie Baahubali by SS Rajamouli those thoughts were proved wrong that there are ones who can bring out movies with a huge budget and collect it back.

This has truly made Shankar depressed that his name in the industry is slipping. Now Shankar is trying to do his best through his next project as this Rajamouli’s blow with Baahubali has struck this showman of Indian Cinema. Shankar also feels that the name, Showman of Indian Cinema which belonged to him could be Rajamouli’s as he has shown the world what he is up for. So this veteran director is all set to give his competition to Baahubali by making Enthiran 2 with a budget of 250 crores equalling the competition.

May be he is trying to show who does the best with such a budget. Anyway it’s Shankar Vs Rajamouli and Enthiran 2 Vs Baahubali.Everywhere sources said that this would really strike Shankar as he was that person who have been using this technique. After the success of Baahubali sources confirms that Shankar has been on his way to make his Enthiran come back for its second part. Now it seems that the sources have been true and Shankar is planning to start the shoot by January 2016.

Like the first part Enthiran, the second part will also be starred by Rajinikanth. The previous film of Shankar I did not yield what Shankar had in mind, but the performance and hard work of Vikram was appreciated and it was an above average success. But comparing to other blockbuster hits of Shankar I failed to fit in Shankar’s lane, it lacked content. So Shankar is thinking of a comeback after his not so great commercial success I. There are also sources that Shankar is trying to make his Enthiran 2 for smashing the records created by Baahubali. May be its Rajamouli’s movie that is the driving force of Shankar to bring back his magic touch to the big canvas.

This will be also a challenge for Shankar that previously it was Shankar’s Enthiran who has been leading the Box Offices in India and worldwide but now it’s all undertaken by Baahubali. So this could be actually a prestige issue for Shankar to get back the place which belonged to him through Enthiran before. Sources from the industry has also confirmed that Enthiran 2 is Shankar’s dream project. Is Shankar’s Robot Mission potent enough to break the records of Baahubali ? According to the official sources, it has been confirmed that Puli has crossed Salman Khan’s Kick which had the most number of likes and was at the first position. Puli has got 100,000 plus likes and 6 Million plus views on Youtube for its official trailer. The film has a star studded cast which includes Ilayathalapathy Vijay, Sridevi, Shruthi Haasan, Hansika Motwani, Sudeep etc.

The Team has declared a challenge for the Telugu version named Mayuri. So this is only applicable for the Telugu ones, anyway this is truly a good marketing technique.

The movie is directed by the debut director Ashwin Saravanan.

The director Ashwin Saravanan and producer of the Telugu version, C Kalyan is so much confident about the movie’s perfection that they have put forward this challenge. KPAC Lalitha the mother of Sidharth Bharathan has come up with her thoughts and experiences after her son met with an accident. Sidharth Bharathan, Malayalam actor and director who was admitted at the hospital after the accident at Edappally Kochi was said to be in critical condition at first.

KPAC Lalitha says that the media all over was reporting and competing for getting their TRP ratings and Viewership ratings with the information they got at firsthand. They were competing against each other by giving headlines, flash news everything based on the first reports from the hospital with the wrong information, said Sidharth’s mother. She also remarked that one of the media reported in their Breaking News that Sidharth was critically injured and another person with him had died and about some other channel which reported continuously about Sidharth to be faced by death soon.

KPAC Lalitha also said that it was director Kamal knowing about the condition of Sidharth coming to the hospital and called the media office not to air news which are not true and to stop promoting wrong information. She also commented that ‘the media specially the visual media are using human emotions in the wrong way and they are not even thinking before reporting or checking whether the information they are getting is right or wrong, they are just going with the media competition in which who airs that news first. So whenever these type of things are practised that is by relying on the first hand information media could actually hurt people’s feelings and they are unaware of it. Sidharth is truly an example where he was victimised in this media competition’.

So the Actress KPAC Lalitha, mother of Sidharth Bharathan is requesting all the media persons to be honest to their profession and to report the truth, otherwise it could hurt many with that single action. Njan Samvidhanam Cheyyum Review

Njan Samvidhanam Cheyyum has arrived at theaters yesterday and it was the directorial effort from Balachandra Menon after 7 years and can be called a sort of comeback film for him. As usual he had done the lead role in this film as well and introduced a new heroine as well. Apart from Balachandra Menon many veteran artists like Shankar, Raveendran, Menaka Suresh had played key roles in this so called family entertainer film. The lead female roles has been done by Gayathri and Dakshina. The film does not even have much online promotion and not at all generated any expectation or curiosity among the audience. The only factor which connected this film with the audience is the name Balachandra Menon, who ‘once’ was a popular director or may be the perfect all-rounder in Malayalam cinema.

The 2 hour 40 minute film tells us the story about a man who loves cinema passionately and his effort to direct a film. In the beginning of the story a husband played by Balachandra Menon went missing from his family. He had a wife who is a bank employee and a daughter who is studying visual communication course at Bangalore city. The daughter also plans to make film. When the husband comes back he and wife do things to block daughter’s decision to direct a film. But later it reveals that the father who was went missing for 3 months also went to write a script for a film which he is going to direct soon and there start the story.

To say honestly the film was really a torture for the viewers as it had nothing in it to entertain. Whatever it has some undercooked social satire type scenes (they intended like that may be) specially related to cinema and all. The performances from actors was terrible as well except from that of Renji Panicker who as usual made his role looks convincing. Sometimes it felt like a TV serial is going on in the big screen and the script and direction by Menon was just pathetic to say the very least. Songs are also below average and one song was fairly good. Some scenes where intended to bring out the underplays in state award judging but that too was presented carelessly and without any conviction.

On the whole Njan Samvidhanam Cheyyum is a mediocre effort from Balachandra Menon whose name was once the word of trust among family audience.

Popular television anchor and cine artist Sabumon Abdusamad is in the firing line of Mohanlal fans and he had to deactivate his account for a while as well to save himself from the biggest fan force in Kerala. It was a comment made by Sabumon against the legend Mohanlal that made his fans angry and he came in the firing line of their attack.

But when things seems to be ending Sabumon again made it worse by commenting against the Mohanlal fans as a whole. Sabu Mon not only insulted Mohanlal alone but also indirectly insulted his father as well. It has been almost 8 years since the demise of Mohanlal’s father and insulting Mohanlal’s Late Father was just like insulting the legend himself in the worst manner possible.

Sabumon had posted on his Facebook timeline in the light of Supreme Court verdict on street Dog issue that all street dogs must be killed. Somebody posted a photo as a comment in that post. It was a photo in which Mohanlal was sitting with his Dog which he posted on his facebook page once. But Sabumon’s comment was rude. He asked what is the need to post there a photo which shows someone sitting with a Dog of his.

He don’t care whether it is Mohanlal or his father sitting with the Dog and he will kill it if it attacks him. Even though he did not mention the name Mohanlal there his words was such that it insulted the legend and its Late Father as well. When that comment was seen by Mohanlal fans they started attacking him through abuses and posts all around the social media.

Later he deleted that comment and posted that Lalettan is his favourite but Mohanlal fans are just clowns and nothing else. That made things worse and it only helped to strengthen the attack on him. At last he had to deactivate his account temporarily to save himself from the mighty force of Mohanlal fans. Mohanlal fans are the biggest fan unit in Kerala and they are the strongest in social media too. They even hacked Pakistan Government website as a revenge against the hacking of Mohanlal’s website by Pakistanis. To mess with them is just like playing with fire and Sabumon is just seems to learn it.
