Rorschach pre-release teaser out

Mammootty’s highly anticipated film ‘Rorschach’ is all set for release tomorrow. Ahead of that, the makers have shared a pre-release teaser, which gives glimpse of a surprise cameo by Asif Ali. We had earlier reported about the actor shooting his portions in ‘Rorschach’ during the Dubai schedule earlier this year.

The film, directed by Nisam Basheer and scripted by Sameer Abdul, promises to be a gripping psychological thriller. There’s a lot of mystery around Mammootty’s character as the makers have not yet revealed anything about him. It also stars Sharafudheen, Jagadheesh, Grace Antony, Bindu Panicker, Sanju Sivaram, and Kottayam Nazeer in major roles.

On the technical front, the film has Nimish Ravi of ‘Kurup’ fame as the cinematographer. Mithun Mukundan, the music director of the acclaimed Kannada film ‘Garuda Gamana Vrishaba Vahana’, is making his Malayalam debut with this film. Kiran Das is in charge of the edits.

Release date of Sivakarthikeyan’s Prince announced

It was earlier announced that Sivakarthikeyan’s Prince will be a Diwali release. The makers have now confirmed that the film will be hitting screens on October 21, three days ahead of the festival Telugu filmmaker Anudeep KV is directing the film, which has been planned as a Tamil-Telugu bilingual.

Director Anudeep KV’s previous film ‘Jathi Ratnalu’ starring Naveen Polishetty was a huge hit at the box office. Naturally, expectations are high when he teams up with Sivakarthikeyan, who is on a high after the success of ‘Don’.

Like the director’s last release, ‘Prince’ also promises to be an out and out fun entertainer. Ukrainian actress Maria Ryaboshapka is the paired with Sivakarthikeyan in the film. She is noted for her roles in the Hindi web series ‘Special Ops 1.5’ and the Polish film ‘Eter’. Sathyaraj is also playing a prominent role in ‘Prince’.

‘Prince’ is produced by Sree Venkateswara Cinemas LLP, Suresh Productions and Shanthi Talkies. The film has music by Thaman and cinematography by Manoj Paramahamsa.

Nivin Pauly-starrer ‘Padavettu’ has been censored with a U/A certificate. With that, the film is now confirmed to hit screens on October 21. Written and directed by debutant Liju Krishna, the film is a political thriller. It is said to have Nivin Pauly in a performance oriented role. His fans have been eagerly waiting for the film for long.

Last day, the makers released its first song titled ‘Mazha Pattu’. It is a romantic song featuring Nivin and the female lead Aditi Balan. It is composed by Govind Vasantha, who has also sung lent his vocals along with Anne Amie. Lyrics is by Anwar Ali.

‘Padavettu’ also stars Shine Tom Chacko, Shammy Thilakan, Indrans and Sudheesh in supporting roles. Manju Warrier also essays a cameo role in the film. Sunny Wayne is producing it in association with Saregama, a leading music label. Their film division Yoodlee Films is foraying into Malayalam industry with this project.

First look of Vineeth Sreenivasan’s Mukundan Unni Associates released

The first look poster of Vineeth Sreenivasan starrer ‘Mukundan Unni Associates’ has been released. The film marks the directorial debut of editor Abhinav Sunder Nayak. He has also co-written the film along with Vimal Gopalakrishnan. Dr Ajith Joy is producing the film, which has been confirmed as a theatre release in November.

‘Mukundan Unni Associates’ also stars Suraj Venjaramoodu, Arsha Chandhini, Baiju, Sudhi Koppa, Tanvi Ram, Manikandan Pattambi, Sudheesh, George Kora, Althaf Salim, Biju Sopanam, and Riya Saira among others. The film has ‘Hridayam’ cinematographer Viswajith Odukkathil cranking the camera. Music is by Sibi Mathew Alex. Director Abhinav is handling the edits along with Nidhin Raj Arol.

The film is written and directed by Vipin Das of ‘Mudhugauv’ and ‘Antakshari’ fame. Recently, its makers released a fun teaser online. It gives a clear idea about the nature of the film. Darshana and Basil play newlyweds, and the story seems to revolve around them. Basil plays a character named Rajesh and Darshana essays the titular role of Jaya.

‘Jaya Jaya Jaya Jaya Hey’ directed by Vipin Das promises to be a full-on comedy entertainer which will address a relevant issue through a middle-class woman’s struggles. Lakshmi Warrier and Ganesh Menon, who last produced the sleeper hit ‘Jaan-e-Man’, are backing this film under their banner, Cheers Entertainments.

The film is set to hit screens this Deepavali on October 21.

Mammootty and Jyotika to team up for Jeo Baby’s next?

‘The Great Indian Kitchen’ director Jeo Baby had earlier confirmed that his next film will be with Mammootty. Apparently, the director is in talks with Jyotika to play the female lead’s role. If she signs the project, it will be her second Malayalam outing after debuting with the TK Rajeev Kumar directorial ‘Seetha Kalyanam’, which got released in 2009.

Earlier in an interview, Jeo Baby had said that two of his friends are scripting the film, which is yet to be titled. He also added that Mammootty’s face was the first thing that came to his mind after reading the script. The team is now doing some minor corrections on the script. As per reports, the film’s shoot will begin this month.

Meanwhile, Mammootty is awaiting the release of ‘Rorschach’, which is set to hit screens on October 7. B Unnikrishnan’s cop-thriller ‘Christopher’ and Lijo Jose Pellisserry’s ‘Nanpakal Nerathu Mayakkam’ are his other films lined up for release.

If the initial collections are anything to go by, it is set to become one of the highest grossing Tamil films of all time. Overwhelmed by the reception, actor Karthi, who plays a major role in the film, took to his Twitter handle to share a long note of gratitude. It reads,

Vijay Sethupathi and Arvind Swami star in a silent film; Here’s the teaser of Gandhi Talks

We had earlier reported about Vijay Sethupathi and Arvind Swami starring in a silent film titled ‘Gandhi Talks’. Kishor Pandurang Belekar is directing the film, which also stars Marathi actor Siddharth Jadhav and Aditi Rao Hydari in major roles. Last day, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi, the makers released a short teaser featuring all the four leads. From the teaser, it is evident that the narrative revolves around money.

Touted to be a silent dark comedy, ‘Gandhi Talks’ has music by AR Rahman. The film brings together Vijay Sethupathi, Aditi Rao Hydari and Arvind Swami after sharing screen in ‘Chekka Chivantha Vaanam’. Interestingly, AR Rahman had scored music for that film as well.
