The news is doing its round in many online pages that Young Superstar of Mollywood, Prithviraj is all set to play the male lead in the directorial debut of popular cinematographer, Sujith Vasudev. It has been reported by many online pages that the flick is titled as James and Alice and Prithviraj has been chosen to play one of the title character named James. Even though the news is not officially declared by Prithviraj, it looks like the news is going to be true as many sources reported from the industry suggesting the same.

The team behind the film is looking for a heroine to play the other title character of Alice and reports says that they had approached many popular south Indian actresses already for the film. The screenplay of the film will be written by famous director Dr. S Janardhanan who has directed films like Maha Samudram with Mohanlal and Sahasram with Suresh Gopi in the lead some years back. Sujith vasudev had written the story of James and Alice. The financers of the film is Dr. S Saji Kumar and Krishnan Sethu Kumar under their banner named Dharmik Films.

Other technical details and star cast of the film is not yet finalized and it will be updated soon with the official announcement from the team itself. Sujith Vasudev had worked with Prithviraj in many films as a cinematographer. They had worked together for the first time in the Lijo Jose Pellissery’s directorial film named City Of God. Then came the Jeethu Joseph directorial flick Memories and they worked together in last year’s super hit film by Shyam Dharman titled 7th Day as well. They have also completed the work in Amar Akbar Antony by Nadirsha and currently working on Sachi’s directorial debut named Anarkkali.

Sujith Vasudev’s popularity as a cinematographer had gone to a higher level with the gigantic success of Jeethu Joseph-Mohanlal film Drishyam and later he had the luck to work in Kamala Haasan starrer Papanasam , which is the Tamil version of Drishyam. Interestingly, Sujith had made his debut as a cinematographer in Mollywood through an Indrajith starrer named Chekavar and now he is working on his directorial debut with Indrajith’s younger brother Prithviraj.

Jayasurya and Kunchako Boban to team up for Rajesh Pillai’s next

0

Rajesh Pillai had become one of the popular directors of Mollywood with a single film that really changed the course of Malayalam cinema. Yes, we are talking about Traffic (2011). The style of making, the way of storytelling and later the super success of the film had given a new face to Malayalam and Rajesh Pillai as a director shot to fame with that single film of him. As a director, he did not had the best beginning as his first film titled Hridayathil Sookshikkan (2005) with Kunchacko Boban and Bhavana in the lead failed miserably at the box office.

But the comeback he made with Traffic was really inspiring and it exhibited how talented he is as a director and proved his potential as a filmmaker. Then, he took a long break and came back with another film named Mili (2015) which had Nivin Pauly and Amala Paul in the lead. Even though the movie was very well acclaimed by the critics the flick did not receive good response from the Mollywood box office. The woman centric storyline was not welcomed by the ones who wanted a film like Traffic. The people expected an out and out entertainer when they saw Nivin Pauly in the cast but it was a disappointment.

Now as per reports, the director is all set to make his 4th Mollywood film and reportedly he had roped in actors Kunchacko Boban and Jayasurya to play the lead roles in the film which is said to be a Psychological thriller which deals with 3 main characters. Apart from Jayasurya and Kunchacko Boban, the female character in the movie also play an important lead role in this flick and as per sources it will be a popular South Indian actress.

Rajesh Pillai had earlier planned to do a film with Kunchacko Boban and Nivin Pauly in the lead which was titled Motorcycle Diaries and later dropped it due to unknown reasons. He also has a big film coming up named Lucifer which will be scripted by Murali Gopi and starred by none other than the universal star Mohanlal. Kunchacko Boban is said to be a part of that film too which will be financed by Ashirvad cinemas.

Prithviraj to undergo martial arts training for Syamanthakam

0

We had already reported some days back about the big budget prestigious project by Hariharan- Prithviraj team titled as Syamanthakam in which Prithviraj plays the role of Lord Krishna. The flick has been filmed using big canvas with lots of popular South Indian and North Indian actors and the story of the film is based on the episode of Syamantaka jewel. It is said to be the biggest Mollywood film considering its budget and it is said that it is a dream project of Hariharan. The success and reception received by Baahubali (2015) is really an inspiration for projects like these to be made in Malayalam without further thought.

Now the latest report about the film confirms that actor Prithviraj Sukumaran who is roped in to play the lead character of ‘Lord Krishna’ in the film is making all his effort to make the character look perfect on screen. For that purpose, he has started training hard and is presently focusing on learning martial arts. Along with this, Prithviraj is also spending his time to acquire horse riding skills for this upcoming project. As a film based on the epic, Mahabharata there will be lots of scenes where all this hard work can be put in and showcase an excellent performance.

The story revolves around the stealing of Syamantaka jewel and everyone accuses Lord Krishna for that. Then, Lord Krishna sets out to recapture it. And on the course, he had to face many events and this flick depicts that events in the canvas of Indian Cinema at the theatres. Prithviraj has a lot to come from this movie, starting with his various looks of Krishna and has to master many art forms to play this role. The character not only has to perform fights but also has dance portions to master. So everything has to look perfect when it comes to the silver screen depicting the character of Lord Krishna in Mahabharata.

The location hunt for the film is going on and they are looking for a location which will give the film a realistic look. This character will be something to watch out from Prithviraj as he is making all his effort making it the best of his career. Hariharan also needs a comeback after the disaster Ezham Varavu and thinks it is the right time to start his dream project.

Loham to come up with an unusual way of storytelling

0

The waiting has become unbearable for the fans of Mohanlal and film lovers of Kerala as they are eagerly waiting to see Mohanlal magic in big screen in Ranjith’s directorial Loham. The movie is gaining high expectation as each day passes. This Mohanlal-Ranjith flick will hit the silver screens on the 20th August and there is almost two weeks time for the film to hit the theatres and this keeps the fans waiting all over. From the release of its first look poster the expectation has raised and Mohanlal’s look in this movie with his mustache twirled made that expectation double.

Right from the start of the shooting it was said that Ranjith is doing an action thriller this time with some commercial elements which is a different move from his recent movies. And Mohanlal’s mass look had worked from the beginning that they are using it again as a catalyst to raise the hope like the people really began to expect a Narasimham(2000) or Aaram Thamburan(1997) model film in which Mohanlal staged his career best performances with his twirled moustache look.

But later reports came in which said that it will not be a mass film as people expect it to be and it will be a class thriller type movie. But now Mohanlal also saying the same confirming that “Loham is not a movie which centers around his twirled moustache look or the mass effect it creates”. In the flick he has different looks like with beard, without beard and with the so talked about ‘twirled moustache’ look as well. But more than the look in the film the subject is all that matters.

Mohanlal, the complete actor says that “the subject of the film is of social relevance and it is told in an extraordinary way”. He said the film is more or less like Spirit (2012) which shares about the problems of Alcohol addiction. But it never had long anti-Alcoholic speeches in it. It told the story by becoming a part of alcohol. Loham will also be a film with social relevance. He said, “ the story telling in this film is not like a usual film and everyone have to watch it to find out how it will be delivered. He says that the suspense of the film centers around two things; One is about what is its subject matter and the other is about where his character stands in this subject.

B Unnikrishnan reveals the twists in Premam investigation

0

The Malayalam film director B Unnikrishnan has come up in his social networking site about the much talked issue of Premam movie’s leaked censor copy, which was set to be published in Mangalam newspaper. He gave the title ”Chila Premananthara Chindhakal” and has quoted much about this issue since he was also been a part of this. The much awaited answer to the question how Premam’s censored copy got leaked is revealed by the police. The Police officers who investigated this case deserve huge applause for finding the truth, who leaked it. It was taken care to not create much more buzz. Rather than creating issues with the so called acts put into act by people in the media talks and discussions on the other side the investigation officers in charge were all cool in this that the hype created in media was not their interest, noted B Unnikrishnan.

The comments move to B Unnikrishnan mocking on a set of people who thought something else from this investigation by saying ‘this type of investigation won’t be digestible for the ones who believe in there own version and have an agenda’. He added, like Premam this investigation was not filled with all the twists and turns and there was not even a climax that was interesting. The hype in the media was like, big sharks will get caught as prey regarding this issue but it was all a waste when it came down to the investigation. On the whole, this was not that cinematic as expected. And, since the Censor board copy was edited in the studio where he is the director, it also, made people cooking up new stories for their utmost interest in this matter and even talking non-sensitive and being hypothetical in the media against B Unnikrishnan and Team Premam. B Unnikrishnan was always attacked in the media by this ‘so called friends’ that he remained calm and the things that the people’s creative mind has developed was appreciated with much respect in the write-up.He quoted the same in his write-up that “Like always, they were simply highly original in their stupidity” .

Later, he sympathizes with the director of Premam, Alphonse Puthren who was even alleged to be tortured by media telling him, if he is the one who leaked the copyright print, this created much issues in the following days making this good director leaking his own movie in the internet. Relying on some hidden sources Alphonse Puthren was even called an abnormal person in the media by spreading false information which was not at all a good way of journalism. It was also added that may be Alphonse did not thought to have a climax like this after the release of the movie that he posted on his facebook account to his fans about his release -“to not come with so much expectation or hype for the movie in theaters, as its just a simple movie using the old formula without build up,climax twist ..” Alphonse would have never thought that the elements,he said to which are not in his movie would be happening after its release, this would have been hard and puts him in a very bad mental condition, that’s true love, when we are not aware of its depth it would just rise like a riot, he added.

Then he talks about the Cinema business in the write-up, where the duplicate prints and spreading of piracy raising so many important questions with much more clarity like he says “this time the reply won’t be enough “appreciating DGP Shri Senkumar’s reply to the question: Will piracy be destroyed fully, the answer was ‘No’ marking that crimes are never ending and that too in this era of digitalization where there is much possibilities in the field of technology, this answer shows his proper understanding on the matter, said B.Unnikrishnan.

This director of some great movies, talks about the practice that we are seeing on internet piracy in detail like clicking photos without permission, uploading photos in the internet without any business/economic agenda etc are not treated as per crime in the law and order of the Indian Constitution. That’s why the Government has started thinking to make legal notions needed in the present law, also the police has registered case under the sections of cheating and other related sections because of the lack of flexibility in IT law. Also, this is because others make comments that the leak of duplicate copy of the movie is read along with the copyright issues. Not just this, they also points out the copying of movies and songs in this regard. So its a right opinion that laws are to be made and practiced with equality.

Since the movies are all digitalized, the ‘content’ is easy to be copied to any other variants, in the beginning the movie was given in the form of video cassette for reference at the censor office and now its in the form of DVD. Nowadays, copying from DVD is no big deal and is very effective and easy compared to the old, Video cassette. According to B Unnikrishnan, its the easiness and availability which made the crime relating to ‘Premam’.The chance of getting leaked is very often that it could be during the post -production process or before its release. If we make the people aware of the applications and software’s to secure the content, to an extent, avoiding the Content encryption and duplicating in the internet etc can clear the problems existing related to piracy but this will not be enough.

The best way to make cinema to be secured from all of this is to form a change, by upgrading into the new world of cinema of this age by providing all the possible ways and formats in which the cinema is released or made available at the same time. Through this way, duplication can be avoided to a certain extent where the movie buffs make use of it. This would be really a challenging revolution that would be effective in the Cinema Business if it gets a green light with the consent of everyone related to it, that would be the end of piracy.

With the upcoming movie Double Barrel its the reviving cinema in Mollywood which is getting into its new way of releasing in the internet outside India by the producers. Like B Unnikrishnan said , this would be truly a new wave of cinema if it is accepted by the film industry all over the world and stop piracy, its just a beginning to the new world of cinema concepts. The team ‘Double Barrel’ who has took this huge step deserves to be known as the ‘Hope of Indian Cinema’.

So will ‘Double Barrel’ gets followed for this trend by the upcoming movies to stop piracy ? We won’t know.. we will wait and watch !!!

Power Star tweets about his readiness to remake Premam

0

In Mollywood, the film Premam not just created a great success but also gained a space of its own in the hearts of millions just like many classic films. Through this statement, we Onlooker Media is not implying that Premam is a classic film or something like that but it is truly a combination of the inspiration that the Premam team took from the golden age of cinema and this movie will be remembered for a long time by the masses.

It is quite a usual thing that whenever a film in Malayalam breaks all the records with its successful run in the theaters it would straight away be remade into other Indian languages. We have seen this practice from the Golden Age. To be specific beginning with the all time favourite Malayalam movie Manichithrathaazhu(1993) to the blockbuster which shook the theatres Drishyam(2015). It looks like Premam has also decided to stay with the success formula of remake to other Indian languages and it is almost sure that it will speak Tamil either with Dhanush or with Suriya in the lead as per reports.

Now Power Star Srinivasan who acts in Tamil films and also in Telugu, Kannada films in comedy roles says that he is ready to remake Premam via his social networking account. Srinivasan who is known by the nick name of Power Star is one who makes film of his own and acts in it himself. He made his debut in film industry in the year 2011 with a film named Lathika and has since then acted in almost 20+ films. Most of the films he acted have him appearing in cameos and his full length roles seems to be very few.

Many people from Kerala compare him with the actor Santhosh Pandit who is making films of his own in low budget and acts in it just like he is a super star of the masses. Power star Srinivasan’s tweet about his readiness to remake Premam and act in it was took by the social media as one of his antics and no one is having serious thoughts about it at all. But everybody will be keen to hear what will be the reaction from the team behind Premam on this tweet by The Power Star. It will be a very funny and interesting thing if Alphonse Puthren or Nivin Pauly hears this and gives a fitting reply to the power star’s wish to play the lead in Premam remake.

What do you think will be the reaction from the ‘Premam’ team?

People are expecting an exciting one from this great team which always gave them great films and in the financial way of things they are a pair which gives record breaking success in Mollywood. Actor Abu Salim is doing an excellent character in this flick and he will be seen with Mohanlal throughout this film. His character name is said to be ‘Aman’ and it has the potential to become a turning point in this actor’s career as per reports.

Abu Salim says that this was a positive character for him after a long time and had high hopes on this one. But the actor did not had enough words to praise Mohanlal who is the hero of the film. Abu Salim says that he and Mohanlal were gym partners during the shoot of the film and the effort and dedication Mohanlal has shown to play the character in this film is unbelievable, that too in this age it is unparallel and no other actor from Mollywood could even dream of matching that dedication level of Mohanlal.

Mohanlal is popular all around india not only as the best actor in our country or the biggest star in Kerala but also for his unbelievable commitment and dedication level to make the character he plays perfect. He goes to any extent and takes all the risks to make a character perfect and even at this age, he is 55 now, he has not used dupes or assistants to perform stunts and adventurous scenes. He is passionate about what he does and he does everything with his whole heart. That is what makes him the best out of the best.

Abu Salim said that Loham will have great action sequences featuring Mohanlal who is considered the best in action sequences in Mollywood. Abu Salim also said that this is going to be one of the best movies of Mohanlal-Ranjith team and will be a sure bet at box office as well.
