Thilothama Posters

Thilothamaa is an upcoming 2014 Malayalam film Written and directed by Preethi Panicker. The film features Rachana Narayanankuti, Manoj K Jayan in the lead roles, while Siddique, Sunil Sugatha, Jeeja Surendran, Thesnikhan,Madhu, Nandu, Idavela Babu, Sona Nair and Sajitha Madathil feature in supporting roles. The film is produced by Gokulam Gopalan (Sree Gokulam Movies). The cinematography of the film was done by famous still photographer Aghosh Vyshnavam, with the editing done by Zian Sreekanth. The music of the film was composed by Deepak Dev with Lyrics by M.R Jayageetha.

Now its time for another Kaththi issue

Kaththi film starring Vijay and Samantha directed by A R Murugados had already become a huge hit all over. The film reportedly grossed above 100 crores and still going strong in theaters. But the issues regarding  the film not seems to get over very soon. Earlier there was some confusion regarding its date of release as Tamil cinema artists and other members went on to strike on the issue of Jayalalitha. Then some planned degrading against the film after release has been spotted and it resolved as the film got very good mouth publicity. Now another issue popped up.

Now it’s the plagiarism issue of Kaththi story, scenes and music. The news is that Kaththi first look poster is inspired from Kevin Cosiner’s English film ‘3 days to kill’ and other film named ‘The words’. They also says that Kaththi film’s motion poster teaser is clear cut copy of New york Times Newspaper ad. And when we looks into the matter, it seems quite clear that the above mentioned films and advertisements had clearly inspired the team behind Kaththi.

Another allegation is that Kaththi theme music  ‘the sword of destiny’ is loosely inspired from the ‘Immortals’ album. And there also we can find the similarity when we hear the above mentioned album. Kaththi film music is composed by Anirudh ,the young music sensation of Kollywood. Kaththi film title sequence is also under the scanner as it is said to be inspired from ‘True Detectives’ an English thriller serial. And some scenes in kaththi is also said to be taken from somewhere else. The jail escape plan in the film is taken from the ‘Tunnel break out’ TV serial. The coin fight scene is one of the best scenes of the Kaththi film and unfortunately that scene also under the scanner as it is said to be inspired from the film ‘Black belt jones’.

And the most important of all these is that one MR. Gopi from Tamilnadu claimed that the full script of Kaththi film was written by him. He accused the team behind kaththi of absolute plagiarism. Anyway its time for the kaththi team to speak up about this allegations. Especially Murugados has to answer this as he is the captain of the ship called ‘Kaththi’.

Nandini is all set for a grand return to Mollywood

Nandini is one of the actresses introduced to Malayalam cinema as well as to the silver screen by none other than Balachandra Menon. He has a history of introducing numerous acting talents through his films and we have to admit that everyone he introduced had become successful or popular in the film field. Same is the case with Nandini also.

Nandini went on to fly high by becoming  part of many popular as well as box office successes like kamal’s Ayaal Kadha Ezhuthukayanu in which she was the heroine of none other than the universal star of Malayalam industry, Mohanlal. She was also the pair of super star Suresh Gopi in  Lelam directed by the master craftsman of mollywood, joshiey. Her character in  Kalabhavan Mani’s Karunadi Kuttan was also very well received and got appreciated by critics. She was also successful in tamil films too. Later she took  some time off from films and she was not at all active in film industry. Later she acted in Some Tamil serials and it was very popular among Malayalees too through Surya channel.

Now Nandini is all set to return to Malayalam film industry very soon as she has been approached to play the female lead in Sangeeth’s movie Elanjikavu P.O. Produced by Sunilal Anchalummood under the banner of double four creations. Salim Kumar, Mukesh, Suraj Venjaaramoodu,  Shammi Thilakan, Kalabhavan Shajon, Gayathri Sunil, Vyagha etc are also a part of the artist list of this film. Salim Kumar plays the male lead in this film and the film centers around his character Sivaraman.

Nnadini’s character Lakshmi has a key role to play in the course of the story.  Her character Lakshmi is a social activist who is on sivaraman’s side and she is the one who helps him to get out of the troubles by bringing a supreme court advocate called martin played by Mukesh. The film is already in news for two reasons. One is of course the return of our favorite heroine Nandini and the second one is that our popular  political figures including P.C. George, Jose Thettayil ,Roshi Augustine etc are making guest appearances in this film make appearances in the movie.

R J Prasad, the man who turned the Malayali film viewing sense upside down with his film ‘Kinnara thumbikal’ is coming back with his new venture ‘Manikyam’. The film is produced by  Ajayakhosh under the banner of Gouri theerdham films. Manikyam tells the story of the intense love of a girl named Kunju Manikyam and it depicts the intense moments and feelings she had to gone through.

A woman knows every side of love without even studying about love. When the situation comes, they will experiment with what they know about love. But some women will create that situation to experiment with different aspects of love. Kunju Manikyam was one such girl and the film depicts her life. Kunju Manikyam has to marry Krishnan as it was her father’s last wish. Both Kunju Manikyam and Krishnan had not able to tell their opinion about that marriage. Because in one way or in other away both are indebted to Kunju Manikyam’s father. After marriage Kunju Manikyam tried to make Krishnan under her control. But she failed miserably as Krishnan was as cold as a cucumber in his attitude. Later Kunju Manikyam fell in love with Kumaaran Writer who was working in Krishnan’s shop. She decided to kill Krishnan in order to live with Kumaran. But before that happened Krishnan opened his mind to her and his story made a soft corner in her mind for him. But there was not much time as the moment was very near. She had to act and the tragedy happens in her life is the story of Manikyam.

Sreelaya is playing the role of Kunju Manikyam. Sahil Sunil, Ajaya Khosh are also playing central characters in this film. Apart from these, Janardhanan, Indrans, Rajmohan,Rama varma,Sindhu Jacob, Sethu Lakshmi etc are doing key roles in the film. The film is based on the work of famous Malayalam literary figure S K Pottakkadu. The screenplay also  written by the director himself. Sahil sunil plays the character of Kumaran Writer and Ajaya khosh plays the character of Krishnan.

Manoj Narayan is the director of photography and Jayachandra Krishana is the editor of the film. Sheik Ilyani composed music to the lyrics written by Dileepan. Sreenivas, Shahabas Aman, Jyotsna are the singers. Art by Sunu Khader and Anoop Apsara and make up by Aji Sreekaryam.

Mollywood riding on November hopes

Malayalam film industry is going to witness a flurry of releases this month and have high hopes on the films which are releasing in this November. The first film which is going to hit the screens in this month is Mammootty starrer ‘Varsham’ directed by Ranjith Shankar. The film is produced By Mammootty himself under the banner of Play house Release. The film will hit the screens Globally on November 6.

The second one is a much awaited film right from the day of its announcement is ‘Iyyobinte Pusthakam’ directed by Amal Neerad. The film has an exciting star cast including Fahad fazil, Jayasurya,Lal and Bollywood fame Isha shervani. Another interesting thing related to this film is that it is the first production venture of Fahad fazil. The film expected to release on November 7 but the date is not fully confirmed.

On November 7, another film will hit the screen with some special features. It is a 3D film named ‘Little Superman’, Directed by the veteran Film maker Vinayan. November 14 is not just children’s day but also a hopeful day for Mollywood . Two big films will release on that day. One is Jayasurya, Aju Varghese,Nedumudi Venu starrer ‘Lal Bahadhurr Shasthri’ directed by Rejishh Midhila and the second one is the much awaited Vineeth sreenivasan-Aju Varghese Starrer ‘Ormayundo Ee Mukham’ Directed by Anvar Sadik. Vineeth Sreenivasan fans are mucha excited as he is coming back to the silver screen after his cameo in Om Shanti Oshana. Namitha Pramod also is a part of this film. It will going to be a big day for atleast Aju Varghese for sure as he is a part of both the films releasing that day.

Nov 21st Will be a big day for Prithviraj Sukumaran and Major Ravi as their film ‘Picket 43’ will hit the screens on that day. It will be an important release for both of them as their last outing was not well received at box office. And the seventh film in this month’s release is ‘Mylanchi Monjulla Veedu’ starring Jayaram and Asif ali. The film directed by debutante Benny Joseph is all set release on November 28th. As of now seven films are slated to release in this month and its fate will surely influence the financial stability of Mollywood.so hopes are on higher side and Mollywood riding on this November hopes.
