Bheeshma Parvam teaser continues to trend in social medias

It has been almost a week since the teaser of ‘Bheeshma Parvam’ got released but it still continues to trend virally in social medias. Mammootty’s stunning long-haired and the mass buildups given for him in the form of stylized slo-mos are the best things about the trailer. Sushin Shyam has also composed a riveting score for the 1.20-minute long trailer.

Directed by Amal Neerad, ‘Bheeshma Parvam’ is a period gangster drama. Newcomer Devadath Shaji has scripted it along with Amal Neerad. The film has an elaborate supporting cast. Farhaan Faasil, Dileesh Pothan, Soubin Shahir, Shine Tom Chacko, Anagha, Sreenath Bhasi, ‘Kettyolaan Ente Malakha’ fame Veena Nandakumar, Sudev Nair, Nadiya Moidu, ‘Pushpa’ fame Anasuya, Maala Parvathi and Lena are part of the film.

Though the makers are yet to officially announce the release date, it is said that the film will be hitting screens on the first week of March. Amal Neerad is producing the film under his own banner.

Hey Sinamika trailer out; Dulquer Salmaan-starrer promises a fun, rom-com

The trailer of Dulquer Salmaan’s new Tamil film ‘Hey Sinamika’ has been released. The star’s father Mammootty shared the trailer through his social media handle. The film, which marks the directorial debut of dance choreographer Brinda, promises to be a fun, rom-com entertainer. Lyricist Madhan Karky has scripted the film, which has Kajal Aggarwal and Aditi Rao Hydari as the female leads.

From the trailer, we learn that Dulquer and Aditi play a married couple in the film. It is not a very happy relationship, which only worsens with the arrival of Kajal’s character. Dulquer plays a character named Yaazhan. Kajal is Malarvizhi and Aditi’s role is named Mouna. Nakshathra Nagesh, Mirchi Vijay, Yogi Babu and many others are part of the film.

‘Hey Sinamika’ has music by Govind Vasantha and cinematography is handled by Preetha Jayaraman. The film was initially scheduled for release on February 25 but later got pushed to March 3.

Extraordinary response for Beast’s Arabic Kuthu song

The first single from Vijay’s Beast dropped on Valentine’s Day (Feb 14). The song titled ‘Arabic Kuthu’ has got tremendous reception as it has notched up a whopping 38 million views on YouTube. Composer Anirudh has lent his vocals for the song along with Jonita Gandhi. Actor Sivakarthikeyan has penned the lyrics for the song, which is a fusion of Arabic and the local ‘Dappan koothu’. The lyric video has glimpses of Vijay and lead actress Pooja Hegde dancing. A particular step by the two has already gone viral. Jani has choreographed the song.

‘Beast’, written and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar, is touted to be a big-budget fun, action thriller. The film has a solid star cast. Ace filmmaker Selvaraghavan is playing a prominent role. Mammootty rejoins the sets of CBI 5

Mammootty has resumed shooting for ‘CBI 5’. The veteran had taken a break after he tested positive with Covid-19. Despite his absence, the makers went ahead with the shoot filming scenes not involving him. The fifth installment of the popular CBI franchise marks the reunion of Mammootty with script writer SN Swamy and director K Madhu. Swargachitra Appachan is producing the film.

‘CBI 5’ has Mammootty reprising the iconic role of investigating officer, Sethurama Iyer. Along with him, Mukesh and Sai Kumar will be reprising their characters, Chacko and Sathyadas, respectively.

For the fifth edition, the makers have got a solid supporting cast comprising of Anoop Menon, Dileesh Pothan, Renji Panicker, Soubin Shahir, Asha Sarath, Ramesh Pisharody, Sudev Nair, Anna Reshma Rajan, Malavika Menon, Malavika Nair, Swasika, Ansiba Hassan, Prashanth Alexander, Jayakrishnan, Idavela Babu, Kottayam Ramesh, Azeez Nedumangad and Santhosh Keezhattoor.

On the technical front, Jakez Bejoy has been assigned as the music director and Akhil George is the DOP.

Arabic Kuthu: First single from Vijay’s Beast is penned by Sivakarthikeyan

The makers of Vijay’s Beast have announced that the first single from the film will be out on Valentine’s Day (February 14). Anirudh Ravichander is composing the track, which has lyrics penned by actor Sivakarthikeyan. The two have previously collaborated for several hit songs.

‘Beast’ first single is a fusion attempt titled Arabic Kuthu. Its announcement was made by releasing a hilarious promo video featuring the film’s director Nelson Dilipkumar, Anirudh and Sivakarthikeyan. Vijay also makes his presence felt through a phone call in the video.

Oscars 2022 nominations announced

Nominees for the 94th Academy Awards got announced last day. ‘The Power Of The Dog’, directed by Jane Campion, leads the list with 12 nominations including Best Film, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Supporting Actor and Best Supporting Actress. It is followed by ‘Dune’, which has 10 nominations. While ‘West Side Story’ and ‘Belfast’ got 7 nods each, the Will Smith-starrer ‘King Richard’ got nominated in six categories.

The Indian documentary ‘Writing With Fire’ has been nominated for Best Documentary Feature. India’s official entry for the Academy Awards 2022, ‘Koozhangal’ and Suriya’s ‘Jai Bhim’ and Mohanlal’s ‘Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham’, which were officially included in the long list of films eligible for the Oscars 2022, failed to make the cut.

Archana 31 Not Out trailer released; Aishwarya Lekshmi starrer promises to be a solid entertainer

With Aishwarya Lekshmi’s ‘Archana 31 Not Out’ slated to hit screens on February 11, the makers have shared its trailer. The film directed by debutant Akhil Anilkumar. The film is Aishwarya Lekshmi’s first film as a solo lead. From the trailer, it promises to be a full-on fun entertainer. As per the makers, the film also has an empowering message in it, which they attempt to deliver without being preachy.

Scripted by Akhil Anilkumar along with Ajay Vijayan and Vivek Chandran, the film is mainly about the titular character’s attempts to get married. Aishwarya Lekshmi plays a primary school teacher’s role. Along with her, the film stars a host of lesser-known actors, most of them hand-picked from the locality. Indrans, Ramesh Pisharody and Rajesh Madhavan are the only other known faces.

‘Archana 31 Not Out’ is produced jointly by filmmaker Martin Prakkat, Siby Chavara and Renjith Nair. On the technical front, the film has cinematography by Joyal Joji and edits handled by Mushin PM.

Urvashi, Dhyan Sreenivasan and Sreenath Bhasi to star in a new film titled H

Urvashi, Dhyan Sreenivasan and Sreenath Bhasi are set to play the lead roles in a new film titled H. Maxwell Jose is directing the film. The director has previously worked with Dhyan in a film titled ‘Khali Purse of the Billionaires’, which is gearing up for release. More details about ‘H’ are expected to be in the coming days.

Apart from Dhyan, ‘Khali Purse of the Billionaires’ also stars Aju Varghese and ‘Ambili’ fame Tanvi Ram as the leads. Dhyan and Aju, who are close friends in real life as well, will be seen playing the roles of IT entrepreneurs in the film. The two essay characters named Bibin Das and Bibin Vijay, who are called Dasan and Vijayan by their friends. The character names are popular to the Malayali audience from the iconic yesteryear flick ‘Nadodikattu’.

‘Khali Purse of the Billionaires’ tells the story of these two youngsters who chase their dream. Tanvi plays Nidhi, a karate blackbelt holder, who wishes to purse the martial art seriously. She is paired with Dhyan in the film. Sunny Wayne will be appearing in a cameo role. Lena, Rajini Haridas, Ramesh Pisharody and Dharmajan Bolgatty are also part of the film.

Bae song from Sivakarthikeyan’s Don wins hearts

With Sivakarthikeyan’s ‘Don’ getting ready for summer release, the makers have shared the second single online. The song titled ‘Bae’ is a romantic number penned by filmmaker Vignesh Shivan. Aditya RK bas sung the track and Anirudh Ravichander has composed it. Within a day of its release, the song has fetched 4.1 million views on YouTube.

‘Don’ directed by debutant Cibi Chakaravarthi is a fun entertainer set in the backdrop of a campus. Sivakarthikeyan will be seen playing a college student’s role for the first time in his career. His ‘Doctor’ co-star Priyanka Arul Mohan is the female lead.

‘Don’ also stars SJ Suryah, Samuthirakani, Sivaangi, Bala Saravanan, Kaali Venkat and RJ Vijay. Sivakarthikeyan’s frequent collaborator Anirudh is composing music for this film. Sivakarthikeyan Productions and Lyca Productions are jointly producing it.

Though the makers of ‘Don’ had recently announced March 25 as the release date, it is likely to be postponed to avoid a direct clash with the biggie, ‘RRR’. Lyca Productions, one of the producers of ‘Don’ are disturbing ‘RRR’ in Tamil Nadu. So they are trying to avert a clash by pushing the Sivakarthikeyan-starrer to another suitable date.

Shoot for Aishwarya Lekshmi’s new film ‘Kumari’ with director Nirmal Sahadev of ‘Ranam’ fame got wrapped up last day. Fresh Lime Sodas and Big J Entertainments are producing the film and it will be presented by actor Prithviraj’s Prithviraj Productions.

After completing the shoot director Nirmal Sahadev wrote in his social media handle,

As per the makers, ‘Kumari’ is a mythical tale based on Kerala’s folklore. Its story is written by Nirmal and Sachin Ramdas. On the technical front, Nirmal has retained almost the same crew from ‘Ranam’.

Jakes Bejoy is the music director and Sreejith Sarang, the editor. The two are also part of the film’s production. They are jointly producing it along with director Nirmal and actor Giju John.

The cast of ‘Kumari’ also includes Shine Tom Chacko, Spadikan George, Surabhi Lekshmi, Rahul Nambiar, Giju John, Tanvi Ram, Swasika, Shruthi Menon, and ‘Kalki’ fame Shivajith Nambiar.

‘Kumari’ is Aishwarya Lekshmi’s second film as a solo lead. Her first film in a titular role ‘Archana 31’ is gearing up for theatrical release on February 11.
