RRR new release date announced

RRR new release date announced

With things slowly returning back to normalcy after a peak in Covid cases due to the pandemic third wave, the entertainment industry seems to be back in full swing. The makers of ‘RRR’ have made the first big move by announcing the film’s release. The film will be hitting screens worldwide on March 25.
The SS Rajamouli directorial has already seen multiple delays due to the pandemic. It was originally supposed to release last year itself.

Starring Jr NTR and Ram Charan as the leads, film is a fictional take on two freedom fighters Alluri Sita Ramaraju and Jr NTR’s Komaram Bheem joining forces to fight the British. Ajay Devgn, Alia Bhatt, Olivia Morris, Samuthirakani, Alison Doody, Ray Stevenson, and Shriya Saran also star in it.

RRR will be releasing simultaneously in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada languages. Expectations are sky-high on the film thanks to the long wait and the buzz created by the promos released so far. The film’s teaser, trailer and a couple of songs have already been out.

As ‘Hridayam’ continues to run successfully in theatres, the makers have released a new song video online. Titled ‘Puthiyoru Lokam’, the song tracks the hippie-style journeys of the protagonist Arun Neelakandan. Since Pranav Mohanlal is already known for his penchant for travelling and nomadic lifestyle, the song feels more relatable. It is an uplifting song rendered by Vimal Roy and Bhadra Rajin. Kaithapram has penned the lyrics and Hesham has composed it.

‘Hridayam’ directed by Vineeth Sreenivasan has Pranav, Darshana Rajendran and Kalyani Priyadarshan as the leads. The film is about the life journey of a few individuals from their college days. Being a youthful entertainer, the film has found extraordinary response from the youngsters. Despite the pandemic threat and subsequent restrictions, the film is doing excellent business in all the release centres, including the overseas regions.

Meanwhile, it is also reported that Disney + Hotstar has acquired the streaming rights of the film. Asianet has bagger the satellite rights.

Shoot for ‘CBI 5’ is progressing despite lead actor Mammootty getting infected with Covid-19. It is learnt that the actor is recovering fast and will be joining the sets soon. Meanwhile, actor-director Dileesh Pothan has started shooting for the film.

Last day, director K Madhu took to his Facebook page to share a photo taken with Dileesh Pothan and scenarist SN Swamy. Along with that he has written,

Delighted to be with one of my favourite Actors / Directors, Dileesh Pothen, who joined CBI Team.

Dileesh Pothan has previously acted in Mammootty’s films like ‘Gangster’, ‘Pullikkaran Staraa’ and ‘Unda’. The two will also be sharing screen space in the upcoming Amal Neerad directorial ‘Bheeshma Parvam’.

Meanwhile, ‘CBI 5’ has the presence of many other well-known actors. Mukesh, Sai Kumar, Ramesh Pisharody, Anoop Menon, Renji Panicker, Soubin Shahir, Sudev Nair, Prashanth Alexander, Jayakrishnan, Idavela Babu, Kottayam Ramesh, Azeez Nedumangad, Santhosh Keezhattoor, Anna Reshma Rajan, Makavika Menon, Makavika Nair, Swasika, and Ansiba Hassan are part of the film.

Manasuno: Ramesh Pisharody turns singer for Aishwarya Lekshmi’s Archana 31 Not Out

We had earlier reported about actor Ramesh Pisharody singing a track in Aishwarya Lekshmi’s upcoming film ‘Archana 31 Not Out’. The makers have now released the song online. Debutant Maathan has composed the song. He has also penned the lyrics along with James Paul.

‘Archana 31 Not Out’ is directed by debutant Akhil Anilkumar. The film, which is Aishwarya Lekshmi’s maiden film as a solo lead, promises to be a fun entertainer. It is mainly about the titular character’s attempts to get married. The film set in a rustic backdrop was mostly shot in Palakkad.

Director Akhil Anilkumar has penned the screenplay along with Ajay Vijayan and Vivek Chandran. Cinematography is by Joyal Joji and edits are handled by Mushin PM. The film is produced jointly by filmmaker Martin Prakkat, Siby Chavara and Renjith Nair.

Shoot has already been completed and is expected to release soon.

Even as ‘Hridayam’ continues to run successfully in theatres, the makers have entered a deal with Disney + Hotstar for its OTT release. It was confirmed by trade analyst Sreedhar Pillai through his Twitter handle. He also added that the film’s satellite rights are with Asianet.

‘Hridayam’ starring Pranav Mohanlal, Darshana Rajendran and Kalyani Priyadarshan as the leads is a youthful entertainer that has opened to extraordinary response all over. Despite the pandemic threat, the film is doing excellent business in all the release centres. Youth, in particular, have taken a special liking to the film.

Director Vineeth Sreenivasan has taken real-life inspirations to come up with a film, which is about the life journey of a few individuals from their college days. Apart from the three leads, a host of other newcomers are also part of the cast.

‘Hridayam’ has music by Hesham Abdul Wahab and cinematography by Viswajith Odukkathil. Edits are handled by Ranjan Abraham. The film is jointly produced jointly by Merryland Productions and Big Bang Entertainments.

‘Anthakshari’ directed by Vipin Das of ‘Mudhugauv’ fame is set for a direct OTT release. Filmmaker Jeethu Joseph is presenting the film, which will be premiering on Sony Liv. Its release date has not yet been announced.

‘Anthakshari’ stars Saiju Kurup, Priyanka Nair, Sudhi Koppa, Vijay Babu, Shabareesh Varma and Binu Pappu in main roles. The film has music by Ankit Menon and cinematography by Bablu Aju. Johnkutty handles the edits. The makers are expected to release the trailer and other promo materials soon.

Pada release date announced

‘Pada’ starring Kunchacko Boban, Vinayakan, Dileesh Pothan and Joju George as the leads has been in the making for sometime now. Kamal KM is directing the film and it is produced under the banner of E4 Entertainment. After a long wait, the makers have announced that the film will be hitting screens on February 11.

‘Pada’ marks the Malayalam debut of director Kamal KM. His maiden film ‘I.D’ in Hindi was a critically acclaimed work that went on to be screened at many international film festivals across the world. Kamal himself has scripted ‘Pada’ that is based on a real-life incident that occurred in Kerala during the 80s.

The cast of ‘Pada’ also includes actors like Prakash Raj, Kani Kusruti, Indrans, Salim Kumar, TG Ravi, Shine Tom Chacko, Shanker Ramakrishnan, Jagadheesh, Kottayam Ramesh and Santhosh Keezhattoor. Cinematographor Sameer Thahir, music director Vishnu Vijayan, editor Shaan Muhammed, art director Gokul Das and costume designer Stephy Xaviour are part of the technical team.

Thozhi: Second single from Hey Sinamika is a hit already!

Recently, the second single from Dulquer Salmaan’s new Tamil film ‘Hey Sinamika’ will be out on January 14 dropped online. The track titled ‘Thozhi’ is sung by Pradeep Kumar and composed by Govind Vasantha. Featuring Dulquer and Kajal Aggarwal, it is a beautiful melody that has already won many hearts. Within a day of its release, the song has fetched 1 million views in YouTube.

‘Hey Sinamika’, which is the directorial debut of dance choreographer Brinda, is said to be a rom-com entertainer. Kajal Aggarwal and Aditi Rao Hydari will be seen as the female leads. Dulquer plays a character named Yaazhan. Kajal is Malarvizhi and Aditi’s role is named Mouna. Nakshathra Nagesh, Mirchi Vijay, Yogi Babu and many others are part of the film.

‘Hey Sinamika’ is scripted by Madhan Karky. Govind Vasantha is the music director and cinematography is handled by Preetha Jayaraman.

The film is scheduled to hit screens on February 25, 2022.

First single from Dhanush’s Maaran garners excellent response

The first single from Dhanush-starrer ‘Maaran’ got released recently. The song titled ‘Polladha Ulagam’ has fetched close to 7 million YouTube views in 2 days already. It is a fun, dance number sung by Dhanush and Arivu. Vivek has written the lyrics and the song is composed by GV Prakash.

‘Maaran’ directed by Karthick Naren promises to be an action thriller. Karthick has scripted the film with additional screenplay and dialogues by Malayali scenarists Suhas-Sharafu and lyricist Vivek. Malavika Mohanan is the female lead. Reportedly, Dhanush and Malavika play investigative journalists in the film.

Samuthirakani, ‘Thadam’ fame Smruthi Venkat, ‘Soorarai Pottru’ fame Krishna Kumar, and Mahendran play supporting roles in the film. GV Prakash Kumar is handling the music and cinematography is by Vivekanand Santhosham.

‘Maaran’ is set to release directly on Disney + Hotstar. This will be Dhanush’s third consecutive film to get a direct OTT release after ‘Jagame Thandhiram’ and ‘Atrangi Re’.

It was earlier reported that Suriya’s acclaimed film ‘Soorarai Pottru’ will be remade in Hindi. Suriya’s 2D Entertainment and Vikram Malhotra’s Abudantia Entertainment will be remaking the film with Sudha Kongara likely to wear the director’s hat once again. Though Guneet Monga, one of the producers of ‘Soorarai Pottru’, had requested a stay on the film’s remake, the issue was solved when the Madras High Court gave Suriya’s banner the clearance to go ahead with the remake.

Latest development is that the makers are in talks with Akshay Kumar to star in the Hindi remake. Reportedly, the actor has been in discussions about the project for the past few months and has now shown interest to get on board. The Hindi version has been tweaked to suit the sensibilities of the North Indian audience. An official announcement is expected to be made regarding the remake’s star cast and crew.

‘Soorarai Pottru’ is based on the real life of Captain GR Gopinath, the founder of Air Deccan. It is about the story of a common man’s journey from humble backgrounds to accomplish his dream of launching an airlines service with the aim of serving the underprivileged.

The film got directly released on Amazon Prime Video in November 2020 and found unanimous praise. With the Hindi version, the makers will be hoping to repeat the same success.
