Last day, actor Dulquer Salmaan had an absolute fan boy moment as he got to meet and spend some time with Indian cricketer Suresh Raina. Dulquer along with Tamil star Vikram Prabhu met Raina in Chennai. The cricketer is in the city as part of preparations for the upcoming IPL season.

Dulquer’s fan boy moment got special as Raina mentioned about his Hindi film ‘The Zoya Factor’. It must be noted that Dulquer played the Indian cricket team captain’s role in the film. The star has shared the photo taken with Raina in his social media handle. In his Facebook post, he also added that he is a Chennai Super Kings (CSK) fan for life. His post reads,

‘Take Off’ director Mahesh Narayanan’s new film, ‘Malik’ is on track for April release. Fahadh Faasil plays the lead role in the film. Nimisha Sajayan is also essaying in a prominent role named Roslin. Last day, the makers unveiled her look and she is nearly unrecognizable in the old age get up. Since the story of ‘Malik’ goes through various timelines, all the major actors will be appearing in different looks.

‘Malik’ is based on a true incident that occurred few years back in Kerala. It is centered around a sensitive coastal area where there was a resistance against this constant threat of displacement of a minority community. The focus will be on the evolution of the coastal area from the 60s to present age. It is basically a story of the coastal community’s survival.

The cast includes Dileesh Pothan, Vinay Forrt, Indrans, Sudhi Koppa, Chandhunath, yesteryear actress Jalaja, Maala Parvathy and many others. DOP Sanu John Varughese, composer Sushin Shyam, production desinger Santhosh Raman and sound designers Vishnu Govind and Sree Sankar form the core technical team. Besides directing and scripting, Mahesh Narayanan is also editing the film.

Anto Joseph Film Company is producing the film, which is being made on a budget of close to Rs 30 crores. Aan Mega Media will be releasing ‘Malik’ in Kerala. Release date is expected to be announced soon.

Veteran Ravi K Chandran to direct remaining portions of Dinkan

Dileep’s Professor Dinkan has been in the making for a long time now. The movie got delayed due to multiple reasons. With the unfortunate demise of director Ramachandra Babu, the film had to be shelved. It is being reported that the director’s brother Ravi K Chandran will be completing the remaining portions. Initial discussions have started with Dileep and the star has agreed to the proposal. He will be resuming shoot for ‘Dinkan’ after wrapping up the ongoing Nadhirshah film ‘Keshu Ee Veedinte Nathan’.

‘Professor Dinkan’ is an ambitious film that is completely planned to be made in 3D format. Rafi has scripted the movie which has Dileep playing the lead role of a magician. It revolves the story of a magician whose aim is to astonish the world with a risky magic trick. But one such attempts fails miserably and ends up affecting a lot of people. How he tries to patch up with the people and undo the damage through minor magic tricks forms the plot. Almost 70% portions of the film has already been shot. The team still requires 30 more days to wrap up the entire shoot.

Namitha Pramod, Srinda, Aju Varghese and Vishnu Unnikrishnan are also part of the cast. The movie is being produced by Sanal Thottam under the banner of New TV.

Just three-films-old, Anna Ben is already one of the most wanted female actors in Malayalam film industry. The actress who made her debut with a delightful performance in ‘Kumbalangi Nights’ continued to impress with ‘Helen’ and the recently released ‘Kappela’. She is currently shooting for veteran Ranjan Pramod’s new film.

Apparently, it is an action-based film for which Anna Ben had trained herself in kick-boxing. She underwent professional training under the guidance of an expert for nearly two months prior to shoot. Urvashi and Saju Kodiyan will also be seen in prominent roles in the film, which is yet to be titled.

Ranjan Pramod is popular as a scenarist as well as filmmaker. He has scripted many blockbuster films like ‘Meesha Madhavan’, ‘Achuvinte Amma’ and ‘Naran’. He last directed the superhit ‘Rakshadhikari Baiju Oppu’ that earned unanimous praise. His next with Anna Ben is expected to be a quality film.

After Ranjan Pramod’s film, Anna Ben will be starring in ‘C/O Saira Banu’ fame Antony Sony’s new film that also has Arjun Ashokan in the lead. ‘June’ writers Ahammed Khabeer and Libin Varghese have jointly scripted the film.

Master audio launch today; Track list out!

The audio launch event of Vijay’s upcoming release ‘Master’ will be held today evening in Chennai. Prior to that, the makers have released the track list online. The album composed by Anirudh Ravichander has a total of 8 tracks which includes an instrumental version. Interestingly, composers Yuvan Shankar Raja and Santhosh Narayanan have crooned for a couple of tracks in the film. Filmmaker Vignesh Shivn has also penned the lyrics for two songs.

Usually audio launch events of Vijay’s films are planned as a grand affair. However, this time it will be a low key event. This is mainly because of the Corona outbreak and to further ensure that no commotion or unwanted incidents occur like last time during the audio launch event of ‘Bigil’.

Unlike like the past, where such functions are held at large auditoriums and open grounds, this time, it will be held in a banquet hall of a five star hotel in Chennai. Only cast and crew members will be attending the function. Live telecast has been planned to ensure that fans are not left out of the fun. The program will be streamed live in Sun TV at 6.30 PM.

Taking into account all the controversy regarding I-T Raids at Vijay’s residence and the following protests by BJP activists at ‘Master’ sets, the actor’s speech this time is eagerly awaited by many. The already hit song ‘Oru Kutti Kathai’ is also expected to be sung by the star at the event. Another highlight will be the Vijay-Vijay Sethupathi factor. It will be interesting to see what they both have to share about each other.

‘Master’ is written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Vijay plays the role of an arts college professor in the film. Vijay Sethupathi will be seen as the villain. Malavika Mohanan, Andrea Jeremiah, Gouri G Kishan, Arjun Das, Brigida, Shanthanu Bhagyaraj and Ramya Subramanian are essaying other key roles.

As we already know, Mammootty’s trend-setting gangster flick ‘Big B’ is getting a sequel. Titled as ‘Bilal’, the second part is gearing up to go on floors shortly. Unni R is scripting the film and it will be directed by Amal Neerad. Bala, Mamta Mohandas and Manoj K Jayan, who all played crucial roles in the first part, have been retained in the sequel as well.

Latest addition to the cast of is filmmaker-turned-actor Jean Paul Lal aka Lal Jr. Though the nature of his character is not yet known, it is reported that he will be playing a crucial role in the film. Jean is noted for directing films like ‘Honey Bee’, ‘Hi I’m Tony’ and ‘Driving Licence’. He made his acting debut last year with the Asif Ali starrer ‘Underworld’ and his performance in it got noted. He is currently directing a film titled ‘Tsunami’ along with his father Lal. Balu Varghese plays the lead role in it.

Recently, actor Shanthnu Bhagyaraj, who is playing an important role in ‘Master’, had posted a video on his social media handle. It’s a video of him dancing to the tunes of ‘Vaathi Coming’ along with his wife Kiki Vijay and their dance school students. Shanthnu and Kiki shake their legs effortlessly to the racy beats of Anirudh and the tribute video has gone viral in no time.

Dulquer Salmaan who seems to be awestruck by the dancing has heaped praise on Shanthnu, whom he knows from childhood. He also wished luck for ‘Master’ team. The ‘Charlie’ actor has tweeted,

Actor-turned-filmmaker Sidharth Bharathan’s upcoming directorial titled ‘Djinn’ has been wrapped up. The director himself took to his social media handle to inform the same by sharing a pack up photo. Soubin Shahir and Santhy Balachandran of ‘Tharangam’ and ‘Jallikkattu’ play the lead roles. The film is scripted by Rajesh Gopinadhan, who had earlier penned the Dulquer Salmaan starrer ‘Kali’.

It is learnt that ‘Djinn’ is an entertainer that has equal dose of family drama and suspense elements. It is a racy film centered around the two lead characters played by Soubin and Santhy. Leona Lishoy, noted for her performance in ‘Mayaanadhi’, ‘Ishq’ and ‘Anveshanam’ plays an important role in the film. Sharafudheen will also be seen essaying a crucial role.

‘Djinn’ has a very strong technical crew. Girish Gangadharan is the cinematographer and music department is being handled by Prashant Pillai. Bavan Sreekumar is the editor. It is being produced under the banner of D14 Entertainments.

Official: Much-awaited release date of KGF 2 announced

The highly anticipated release date of ‘KGF: Chapter 2’ has officially been announced by the makers. The film will be hitting screens worldwide on October 23. Starring Rocking Star Yash in the lead, ‘KGF 2’ is one film that is eagerly awaited by cinephiles across the country. Prashanth Neel, who wrote and directed the first part, is helming the sequel as well.

‘KGF’ has been one of the most talked about movies in Indian cinema in recent times. The multilingual film which got released in 2018 had emerged as a nationwide sensation. It is the highest grossing Kannada film till date.

Coming to the second part, the makers have got Bollywood star Sanjay Dutt to play the main villain, Adheera. Veteran Ranveena Tandon will be seen essaying the Indian Prime Minister’s role. The character is said to be inspired from Indira Gandhi. Srinidhi Shetty, Anant Nag, Rao Ramesh, Achyuth Kumar, Vasishta N Simha and Malavika Avinash are also part of the supporting cast.
