Psycho trailer: Mysskin promises to deliver a dark thriller!

The trailer of Mysskin directorial ‘Psycho’ has just been released online. The 1.37 minute long teaser has all the signature Mysskin elements and looks highly promising. It looks like a dark thriller with its share of bloodshed and brutal killings.

Udhayanidhi Stalin plays the lead role in the film. He essays the role of a blind musician in it. The supporting cast of ‘Psycho’ also includes Nithya Menen, Aditi Rao Hydari, Singampuli, director Ram Renuka Chauhan and Shaji Chen among others.

Tanveer Mir, a former associate of ace cinematographer PC Sreeram is cranking the camera and the film is an Ilayarajaa musical. The makers had recently released a couple of songs composed by the maestro and they got great response from music lovers. The track ‘Unna Nenach’ sung by Sid Sriram is already a big hit.

Arun Mozhi Manickam is producing the film under the banner of Double Meaning Production.

Mammootty’s One scheduled for April release!

Mammootty starrer ‘One’ is one of the most awaited Malayalam films in the first half of the year. The star plays the role of a Chief Minister in the film. It is after several years that he is doing a political film in Malayalam and hence expectations are huge. The makers are planning to release the first in April prior to the beginning of the Vishu holidays.

‘One’ is scripted by National award winners Bobby-Sanjay. Santhosh Viswanath of ‘Chirakodinja Kinavukal’ fame is directing the film. Bobby-Sanjay have taken inspiration from real life incidents to script this film. Through this film, they are trying to address how an ideal Chief Minister should function. Mammootty’s character in the film is named as Kadakkal Chandran.

‘One’ also has a bunch of talented supporting actors. Murali Gopy and Joju George will be seen in prominent roles as the opposition leader and party secretary, respectively. Nimisha Sajayan, Ranjith, Mathew Thomas, Gayathri Arun, Balachandra Menon, Sudev Nair, Suresh Krishna, Salim Kumar, Shankar Ramakrishnan, Alencier Ley, Mamukoya, Balaji Sharma and many others are part of the cast.

Vaidy Somasundaram is the DOP and music department is handled by Gopi Sunder. Sreelakshmi R is producing the film under the banner of Ichais Productions. Anto Joseph Film Company is releasing the film in Kerala.

Great response for the action-packed trailer of Big Brother!

As Mohanlal’s new film ‘Big Brother’ gears up hit screens, the makers had released a second trailer last day through social medias. The Siddique directorial looks like an action packed thriller with family emotions at the core. Mohanlal plays a character named Sachidhanandan. He has a dark past with drug mafia where he was called Edwin Mosses.

Mohanlal, Anoop Menon and ‘June’ fame Sarjano Khalid will be seen as siblings in the film. Debutante Gadha, Honey Rose, Mirna Menon and Satna Titus are the female leads. Bollywood actor Arbaaz Khan is making his Malayalam debut by playing a police officer’s role. Vishnu Unnikrishnan, Irshad, John Vijay, Tini Tom, Janardhanan, Chemban Vinod Jose and many others are part of the film’s supporting cast.

On the technical front, ‘Big Brother’ has camera cranked by Jithu Damodar and music department handled by Deepak Dev. Director Siddique, Jenso Jose, Philipose K Joseph, Manu Maliackal and Vaishak Rajan are jointly producing the film.

Official announcement regarding the release date is expected to be made shortly.

Mamangam director Padmakumar’s next with Asif Ali and Suraj Venjaramoodu to begin in April

After working on the epic period flick ‘Mamangam’ for nearly a year, director M Padmakumar will be teaming up with actors Asif Ali and Suraj Venjaramoodu for his new film. Shoot for the yet-to-be titled film will start in April and pre-production works have already begun. Ranjin Raj of ‘Joseph’ fame has already started composing for the film. More details regarding project, including the genre, supporting cast and other crew members are expected to be revealed in the coming days.

Both Suraj Venjaramoodu and Asif Ali are currently in red hot form after delivering back to back stellar performances. So when they both come together for a new film, expectations will naturally be on the higher side. Though they both have acted together several times in the past, this is the first time they will be sharing screen space as leads. It will be interesting to see their on-screen rapport.

As informed earlier by the makers, the official teaser of Suriya starrer ‘Soorarai Pottru’ has been released online. This highly ambitious film directed by ‘Irudhi Suttru’ fame Sudha Kongara is loosely based on the life of GR Gopinath, the founder of Air Deccan, who is also a retired captain of the Indian army. Sudha has scripted the film along with Shalini Usha Nair.

Along with Suriya, the cast also includes veterans Paresh Rawal, Jackie Shroff and Mohan Babu in major roles. Malayali actress Aparna Balamurali plays the female lead. GV Prakash is composing the music and cinematography is done by Niketh Bommireddy. Academy Award winner Guneet Monga’s Sikhya Entertainment is producing the film jointly with Suriya’s own production house, 2D Entertainment.

‘Soorarai Pottru’ also has a Telugu version which has titled as ‘Aakaasam Nee Haddhu Ra’. Though the film is confirmed to be a summer 2020 release, an official announcement regarding the exact release date has not yet been made. It is heard that the makers are eyeing an April release.

Thankam starring Fahadh Faasil, Joju George and Dileesh Pothan to start rolling next month

For the last few films, Fahadh Faasil has been shooting continuously for ‘Malik’, a highly ambitious film directed by Mahesh Narayanan. The actor has lost oodles of weight for the film. Shoot is at the final stages and the makers are planning to wrap up by the second week of this month. After that Fahadh will be taking a one month long break to get back in shape. He will be next joining the sets of ‘Thankam’, directed by Saheed Arafath of ‘Theeram’ fame.

National award winner Syam Pushkaran is scripting the film that also stars Dileesh Pothan and Joju George in lead roles. Syam and Dileesh Pothan and Fahadh are also involved in the production. They are jointly producing ‘Thankam’ under their banners of Working Class Hero and Fahadh Faasil and Friends. The trio last produced the widely acclaimed ‘Kumbalangi Nights’.

‘Thankam’, as per the makers, is a crime drama. Syam Pushkaran is attempting this genre for the first time and hence there will be a lot of expectations. The film has a promising core technical crew comprising of ‘Theevandi’ fame Gautham Sankar as the DOP, Kiran Das as the editor and Bijibal as the composer. Production designer Jyothish Sankar, costume designer Mashar Hamsar and make up artist Ronex Xavier are also part of the team.

Allu Arjun starrer ‘Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo’ is gearing up is set to hit screens worldwide on January 12. The film directed by Trivikram Srinivas has a stellar star cast, which includes two female leads in Pooja Hegde and Nivetha Pethuraj. Jayaram, Tabu, Sushanth, Navdeep, Sunil, Murali Sharma, Rajendra Prasad, Vennela Kishore, Rahul Ramakrishna, Brahmaji, Samuthirakani, Sachin Khedekar, Tanikella Bharani and many others are part of the cast.

Malayalam actor Jayaram is playing the role of Allu Arjun’s father in the film, which looks like a romantic-family entertainer. Veteran actress Tabu is paired with him. Jayaram had taken some extra efforts for this film, like shedding weight prior to the commencement of shoot to sport a stylish new look.

Interestingly, the actor has also dubbed in Telugu for his character. This is the first time he is dubbing in the language. Though it was tough, Jayaram did it on the insistence of director Trivikram Srinivas hero Allu Arjun as they felt it’s important to retain the feel of the dialogues.

Mohanlal sports a stylish new look for Jeethu Joseph’s Ram!

Mohanlal’s new film ‘Ram’ directed by Jeethu Joseph started rolling last day. The director took to his social media handle to share a working still featuring Mohanlal and Adil Hussain. The former is seen wearing a suit, and sporting a stylish new salt and pepper look. It seems like Mohanlal will be appearing in this look throughout the film.

Touted to be a big budget action thriller, ‘Ram’ will be shot in foreign locations like Egypt, London and Istanbul. Ramesh R Pillai and Sudhan S Pillai are jointly producing the film under the banner of Abhishek Films. According to director Jeethu, it will be an unusual mass entertainer, an action-thriller with a realistic touch.

Actor Askar Ali has signed his next. The film titled as ‘Paka’, which means hate in Malayalam, will be directed by Kiran Mohandass. Its title poster was shared by Askar’s brother Asif Ali through his official social media handle. Concept Pictures is producing the film. The makers have announced that it will be a 2020 release. More details regarding the film’s genre, supporting cast and crew are expected to be revealed in the coming days.

Askar Ali made his acting debut with the film ‘Chembarathipoo’. He is also noted for starring in films like ‘Kamuki’ and ‘Jeem Boom Bhaa’ directed by Rahul Ramachandran. Askar’s brother Asif meanwhile has a long list of promising films lined up. His next release will be ‘Kunjeldho’, which is the directorial debut of popular RJ and television anchor, Mathukutty. Asif has also signed for films with Rajeev Ravi, M Padmakumar and ‘B Tech’ fame Mrudul Nair.
