Ivide swallowed by Premam’s gigantic success

Shyama Prasad Directorial crime drama Ivide released along with Alphonse Puthren’s Premam on the 29th of May this year and while Premam gone on to become one of the biggest hits of mollywood this year Ivide ended up on the losing side. It has a great star cast including Young super star Prithviraj, popular actress Bhavana and young star Nivin Pauly. Unfortunately it failed to make any impact at the box office of Malayalam film industry and literally washed away in front of the success of Premam which had really gone on to become a success which is very big in all sense.

The highlights of the film Ivide was its making and also the performance of Prithviraj Sukumaran. The making of Ivide was really up to international standards as many of the technicians worked in the film are from Hollywood and they did their magic on this one on its technical side. The film had a Hollywood tpoch in all aspects of its technical side and the aesthetic beauty of Shyama prasad’s vision also helped it to be a good one to the eyes for the spectators.

Prithviraj had done a fantastic job in this flick and that is a master class from him. The character of Varun Blake was perfectly portrayed that we even forgot Prithviraj and started to feel that it was Varun Balke the Atlanta based police officer. His English accent was terrific and he really outplayed all other actors in that flick with his superb control over the language and accent. It was his second outing with Shyama Prasad after the much acclaimed film named Akale which he had done at very early part of his career. The maturity he had got after these years in his acting and every movement as the character is unbelievable and he is now one of the best actors we have in our Malayalam film industry specifically and in south India as a whole.

The lack of proper promotion was a major cause for Ivide got unnoticed as many viewers did not even know that this film got released along with Premam. Even the promotion from the side of fans was too weak as well. In social media the only topic of discussion was Premam and about the characters in that and Ivide never become a subject of discussion. Perhaps an earlier release or later release may helped the film.

It has been really sad to see his performance goes unnoticed in front of the waves created by another film and it is not just Ivide but films like Kumbasaaram and Nirnayakam also is behind the shadow created by Premam. But after the first day of its release Nirnayakam getting great attention because of strong online media promotion combined with good word of mouth. The film began to make its mark on the box office as well. It is not at all good for our industry that good films are being ignored as it may make filmmakers to stop think different and they too will go behind trends or success formula.

A new star on the floor and her name is Anupama Parameswaran

Premam is a film which not only become a great success but also brought some new stars, new talents etc to the floor of Malayalam cinema. Many newcomers were part of this film like Shabareesh Varma who acted and even wrote and sang a song for this flick. But the main attraction of this film are 3 heroines who are newcomers in the industry named Anupama Parameswaran, Sai pallavi and Madonna Sebastine respectively. Three of them had done their part perfectly already create a buzz in the M-Town and among youngsters with their pretty looks and skillful acting talent.

Among them the first one to get noticed in the film is Anupama Paramesawaran who became a star even before the release of the film. The song “Aluva puzhayude ..” had released before the film hits the screens and it went on to become a terrific hit among youth. Anupama shines in that song and her long and curly hair become a huge talking point. She looked pretty and quite natural and her portrayal of the character named Mary was very much believable.

It was in fact the audition call of the Premam team had made Anupama a heroine. After seeing the audition call she send some of her selfie clicks to the Premam team and without much delay they contacted her for an audition. At first she made not that good in tension and confusion but in the second chance given to her Anupama show them the Mary they are looking for and she had grabbed that opportunity with both her hands. It was indeed a great chance and she had made the most of it.

Anupama expressed her thanks and gratitude to all of them who supported her, loved her and cared for her during the shoot and after that as well. Anupama said that it was Alphonse really who has the credit of molding her as an actress even though she had some theater experience in her kitty. Anupama calls Alphonse Puthren an atom bomb who has an enormous amount of skill in him. She also expressed her thanks to Nivin Pauly for his support and all of the other co-actors and crew member for making her what she is now, a star indeed.

At the start of this year Mollywood was in a crisis state with most of the films failed at the box office and there was even started a war of words between producers and exhibitors as well regarding the success and failures of the films released. But the summer vacation has changed everything in good terms for Mollywood as it had witnessed 3 blockbuster successes in the form of Oru Vadakkan Selfie by the debutant Parjith with Nivin Pauly and Vineeth Sreenivasan in the team, Bhasakr The Rascal by Siddique with Mammootty and Nayanthara in the team and at last Premam by Alphonse Puthren with Nivin Pauly and Sai Pallavi in the team.

Irrespective of the success and failures all the stars in our industry is in busy mode with lots of films in their hand and everyone is running from one set to another to finish up each films in time. First we will tell about the biggest star in our industry Mohanlal. Universal star Mohanlal had completed Ranjith’s Loham which said to be slated for an Onam release and on August 20th to be precise and now joined the sets of M Padmakumar directorial flick Kanal for which he is in Kochi now and will shift to Dubai in few days time.

Then comes our Mega star Mammootty who is currently at thodupuzha in the sets of Kamal film Uttopyayile Rajavu. Prithviraj had finished up Ennu Ninte Moideen and Anarkkali and now joined the sets of Nadirsha directorial film Amar Akbar Anthony along with Indrajith and Jayasurya.

Our most valuable young rising star Nivin Pauly is now filimg his first production venture directed by Abrid Shine named Action Hero Biju in which Abrid Shine also a co-producer. Evergreen star Kunchacko Boban is finishing up Jamna Pyaari and will join Lord Livingston 7000 Kandi directed by Anil Radhakrishnan Menon. Junior Mammootty- Dulquer Salmaan is in the sets of Martin Prakkat film and Fahadh Faasil is in the filming of Amal Neerad’s associate Siju S Bava’s directorial debut.

Super star Rajinikanth has always been the most followed style icon in south India and in fact his unique style of acting, dialogue delivery, walking, talking and fighting is that which made him the biggest super star India has ever seen. From the film Apoorva Ragangal that got released in 1975 he had just captured and conquered the mind and imagination of the audience with his above mentioned qualities and unique mannerisms. He is there in the industry for more than 40 years and in the age of 65 also he plays the character who is aged 30 and Rajinikanth seems a phenomenon who can defy age as well to his fans and he had a Demi-God status in Tamilnadu specially. Still he remains the biggest super star Kollywood had ever seen and his style and mannerisms still attracts lots of people more than the young actors.

And now a great decision is coming from the actor as per sources which says that he is all prepared to play his real age characters in the coming films and it is almost sure that we will see it in the near future with reports saying that his next film will be with Madras fame director Renjith and he will be playing that sort of a character which will give him great scope for acting.

Nirnayakam getting excellent reviews and great attention

Nirnayakam scripted by Bobby Sanjay and conceived by the master craftsman V K Prakash had hit the screens all over on last Friday and getting excellent reviews from all around and getting great critical appreciation which says it is the best in this year from Mollywood till now. The common audience also seems to accept the flick with both hands and the increasing Box office collection is an indication of that as well. The film is undoubtedly the career best movie of the lead actor Asif ali and we can also say the same with V K Prakash and may be about the script writing duo as well.

Nirnayakam is not a mass entertainer but a film with precise political views and one which expresses the issues facing by a common man in our modern society in which the upper hand or dominance is always kept with so called political parties and the film has great relevance in the current situation in which common man’s only hope seems to be our judiciary. There were many incidents occurring in our society which needs to be erased and we need to raise our voice against it. But we common men just seems like living trying to adapt those rather than take step forward or raise our voice against it.

This film tells us to take that needed step forward. It gives us hope that our voice may be an isolated one but it has the power to reach to the ears of our almighty judiciary and can change the existing faulted system of ours. The flick has been treated very realistically and the flick shows incidents which had happened in our society and which can happen in the future as well if we common men sit silent about these undemocratic activities of our political parties and the funny thing is that they are doing all these to us hiding behind the system of democracy.

Nirnayakam shows the hopes on our judiciary as well as raises many questions about the working of our current political and democratic system under the watch of our judiciary. It seems that common man is finding it difficult to live in this system as he has no power and all the power is vested on those ones on whom we placed our trust upon and they are failing to fulfill the duties they had towards the common man who gives them that power which they are enjoying and misusing.

Nedumudi Venu, Prem Praksh and Sudheer Karamana had just amazed the spectators with their unbelievable skills and Asif Ali also gave his all-time best performance for this film. A must film for each and every one among us as for us that this film is made of.

Universal Hero aka Ulaga Nayakan of Indian cinema Mr. Kamal Haasan all set to act in a Mollywood film again as per the reports and it will be directing by the most valuable and talented young director of Mollywood Mr. Roshan Andrews. Roshan Andrews himself said to be confirmed this news to some online Medias. As per the news coming in Roshen had already met Kamal Haasan and sat with him for discussion about the film several times and they are now waiting for Kamal Haasan’s confirmation on the story of the film. The shoot will start right after the confirmation from Mr. Kamal Haasan.

Roshan Andrews is going great guns from the very early parts of his career as his first film itself was trendsetter in Mollywood named Udayananu Thaaram in Universal Star Mohanlal played the male lead and the screen writing for the film was done by Sreenivasan. Later he had done films like Notebook, Ividam Swargamanu, Casanovva, Mumbai Police and How Old Are You. Ividam Swargamanu had won the state award as well for the best film with aesthetic value and popularity. His Mumbai police also won great commercial as well as critical success and his previous film in Mollywood was also a success which paved the way for the grand return of actress Manju Warrier on to the scene again. That film was also a great success which got critical appreciation as well.

He had done the remade version of How Old Are You in Kollywood and quite interestingly the Tamil version paved the way for actress Jyothika to return to the screen after a long gap. In Kollywood as well the film is getting great reception and in tamil the title of the film is 36 Vayathinile and it was financed by actor Suriya. According to unconfirmed reports he has plans to do a film with Suriya as well.

Roshan’s next mollywood project is said to be with Prithviraj in the lead named ‘Nale Ravile’ and which will be scripted by Bobby and Sanjay who had wrote his films like Note book, Casanovva, Mumbai Police and How Old Are You. This will be his second collaboration with Prithviraj. Mohanlal is the actor with which he had done more films which is 3 out of his 7 malayalam films. Now it seems that Kamal Haasan will also join that list as well.

For some days the hot topic doing its round in our social media circle is the controversy of Mammootty insulting serial artists in an award function organized by Asianet TV Channel in Ankamaly. News came just after the award function that Mammootty who was the chief guest of the program was talked in a manner which was quite an insult to the channel as well as the artists who were present there. According to the news Mammootty criticizes the serials and also the attitude of the television channel to satisfy everyone while giving away awards and not considering merit for giving away the recognition.

The news said that Mammootty said the word “best” with more stress while giving the award to the artist who won the awards in order to mock them and also mispronounced the word ‘Episode’ in order to make fun of the pattern our serials are following. But yesterday the award function had telecasted in Asianet channel and it shows nothing of those above mentioned incidents and it was just like nothing much has happened there like what was said in the earlier news.

Many people criticized Mammootty after hearing about his behaviour saying that he should not have behaved that way in a public platform and if he had not happy with the way Asianet giving away the awards he did not have to go there. And mocking the efforts of those artists is also very cheap from the part of as they are not popular like him and only upcoming artists. But all of these now seems to have no relevance as mammootty comes out clean as per what we saw in the last day’s telecast.

There was a section of people came forward to support Mammootty and of course most of them are his fans. According to them even if Mammootty had done that he had done the right thing by criticizing the serials and also the attitude of the television channel to give away the awards just like a commodity to make everyone happy rather than giving it to the deserved ones.

Mammootty has also got the support of the serial haters as they says that once there was good serials in channels. But now most of them are worthless and it wastes the time and energy of the people showing cheap stories and they are wondering why these serials don’t have any censoring methods to make it more watchable. Mohanlal’s performance in action scenes is so enviable that even many action directors many times said that he is the best they have ever seen in mollywood when it comes to the adventurous and dangerous action sequences and physical efforts. Puli Murugan will also have high degree action scenes and it will be created by the most valuable stunt master in India Mr. Peter Hein.

Mohanlal is getting in shape for this film by getting slim and trim as per the instruction of the action director. The success of his latest flick ‘Premam’ has given a great boost to young actor Nivin Pauly and now- a –days the main debate in social Media is that whether Nivin is the new Super star or not. Many people accepting him as a star and many disagree with this title as they believes that 2 03 3 successes cannot make a super star out of the blue and the ones who are supporting the stardom of Nivin says that he is the most consistent young star in mollywood who gives hits consistently for the last 18 months or so.

But as per the latest news coming from our M-Town Nivin Pauly has raised his remuneration level after the success of Premam and now his Remuneration is almost coming near to the remuneration of the Super stars in our film industry. Whether Nivin is a super star or not he is going to get a great amount as his remuneration thanks to his recent consistent run at Box office of Kerala. Premam is his 2nd Mega success this year as his film ‘Oru Vadakkan Selfie’ which got released 2 months before Premam also got great financial stats at box office and become the first blockbuster of the year for Mollywood and for this young actor.

We don’t really know what is his current remuneration and what is he going to get after the hike. The Super stars of Mollywood Mohanlal and Mammootty is getting a remuneration more than 2 crores for a film as per reports and Mohanlal is said to be the one who gets the biggest remuneration in mollywood and it is above 3 crore as per sources. Mammootty gets around 2-2.5 crores and Dileep also seems to get remuneration around 1-1.5 crore rupees.

Prithviraj was the one who among the young stars who gets the maximum remuneration which is said to be around 75-90 lakhs per film and with the amazing run at box office Nivin Pauly seemed to have touched the 1 crore mark and put his first step in to the league of super stars in the case of Remuneration.
