Patta: Sunny Leone set to star alongside Sreesanth in his next Hindi film
We had recently reported about cricketer-turned-actor Sreesanth making a return to Bollywood. He has signed a new film titled ‘Patta’, which will be directed by R Radhakrishnan. As per the makers, it is an experimental political thriller. Sreesanth will be seen playing a CBI officer’s role in it. Sunny Leone is the latest addition to the cast. According to the director, Sunny is playing a powerful female character, which is very different from what she has done earlier. She has already started prepping up for the role.
Though ‘Patta’ has been planned as a proper entertainer with plenty of dance and music, it will also be conveying an important subject. Suresh Peters will be handling the music department and Sreedhar has been roped in as the dance choreographer. The makers have got Prakash Kutty as the cinematographer and Suresh Urs as the editor.
‘Patta’ is being produced by Nirup Gupta under the banner of NNG Film.
Arya-Pa Ranjith film Sarpatta Parambarai looks highly promising; Watch its stunning trailer here!
The trailer of Arya’s upcoming film ‘Sarpatta Parambarai’ has grabbed eyeballs. Directed by Pa Ranjith, it is a boxing based film set in the 1970s and 80s. The 3.14 long trailer gives a clear picture about the world that the film is set in and the numerous characters in it. Set in North Madras in the 70s, the film showcases the lives of rival boxing groups, Sarpatta and Idiyappam Parambarai.
Arya plays a character named Kabilan who represents Sarpatta Parambarai. John Kokken seems to be essaying his main rival, Vembuli of Idiyappa Paramabarai. Kalaiayarasan and Santhosh Prathap are also seen as boxers. Debutante Dushara, ‘Game Over’ fame Sanchana Natarajan, John Vijay, Pasupathi, Anupama Kumar, and Kaali Venkat many others are part of the cast.
Pa Ranjith’s regular collaborators, cinematographer Murali G and music director Santhosh Narayanan are part of this film as well. Stunt master duo AnbuAriv have handled the action choreography. The director’s own Neelam Productions is backing the film along with K9 Studios.
‘Sarpatta Parambarai’ is scheduled to have its world premiere on Amazon Prime Video on July 22.
Official: Suriya 40 first look to be out on July 22
As speculated earlier, the title and first look of ‘Suriya 40’ will be out on the star’s birthday eve, July 22 . It has been announced by Sun Pictures that the poster will be out online at 6 PM. Directed by Pandiraj, the film promises to be an action-packed mass film with a relevant message in it.
‘Suriya 40’ has Priyanka Arul Mohan of ‘Gang Leader’ fame as the female lead. ‘Unnale Unnale’ fame Vinay essays the antagonist’s role. Sathyaraj, Saranya Ponvannan, Jayaprakash, Ilavarasan, Devadarshini, Subbu Panchu Arunachalam and ‘Vada Chennai’ fame Saran are part of the supporting cast.
The film has Rathnavelu as the cinematographer and the recent National-award winner D Imman as the composer. AnbAriv duo is choreographing the stunts. 35% of the film’s shoot has been completed so far. The team will be starting the next schedule as soon as the Covid-enforced restrictions are lifted.
RRR making video is highly impressive; Rajamouli promises to deliver yet another big screen spectacle
The making video of SS Rajamouli directorial ‘RRR’ got released online on July 15. In just 4 days of its release, the teaser has got close to 10 million views. The 1.48 minute long video captures the massive efforts that has gone behind the making of this mega project. We are shown glimpses of the huge sets that have been erected and the tough terrains on which they have shot the film. Like most other Rajamouli films, hundreds of junior artists are seen in various sequences and it must have been quite a challenge to shoot such portions during this pandemic period.
Seeing the stellar response for the making video, Rajamouli has thanked everyone through his social media handle. He revealed he had very little to do with the making video as he was busy with the shoot and post-production works.
According to him, the real credits should go to his son SS Karthikeya, editor Vamsi Atluri and digital marketing executive Pradeep for their two months of hardwork. The director also praised the works of musician Achu Rajamani, rapper BlaaZe and lyricist Aditya Iyengar.

‘RRR’ has Ram Charan and Jr NTR as the leads. The film is about two freedom fighters, Alluri Sita Ramaraju and Komaram Bheem who fought against the British Raj and the Nizam of Hyderabad, respectively. Alia Bhatt, Ajay Devgn, Shriya Saran, Olivia Morris, Ray Stevenson, Alison Doody, Samuthirakani and many others are part of the cast. The makers have announced October 13, 2021 as the theatrical release date.
Valimai posters continue to trend in social medias!
After a frustrating wait that lasted for nearly two years, Ajith fans have been treated with back to back updates from ‘Valimai’ team. It all started with the first look and a motion poster that got released on July 11 without any prior announcement.
‘Valimai’ directed by H Vinoth promises to be a stylishly shot mass-action flick. The 1.23-minute long motion poster features Ajith in a flashy look zooming in on a sports bike. He is also seen taking on a bunch of thugs like a typical mass hero. All the posters featuring him in stylish get ups with jackets and sunglasses. They continue to trend among fans in social medias.

Reports suggest that Ajith plays a cop in the film but the makers are yet to confirm it. Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi is the female lead. Telugu actor Karthikeya Gummakonda will be seen as the antagonist. Yuvan Shankar Raja is the music director and Nirav Shah handles the camera. Boney Kapoor’s Bayview Projects LLP and Zee Studios are jointly producing the film.

‘Valimai’ shoot has not yet been completed. The team is planning to fly abroad once the pandemic situation gets better to shoot the remaining portions. It is most likely to hit screens for this year’s Diwali in November.
Biju Menon, Padmapriya, Roshan Mathew and Nimisha Sajayan in Oru Thekkan Thallu Case
We were among the first to report about Biju Menon playing the lead in the big screen adaptation of GR Indugopan’s popular story ‘Amminipilla Vettu Case’. Debutant director Sreejith N is helming the film, which has been titled as ‘Oru Thekkan Thallu Case’. Its first look poster introducing the lead actors has been released online. Padmapriya is making a comeback after a brief gap. Roshan Mathew and Nimisha Sajayan will be seen in other prominent characters.
The film is produced by Mukesh R Mehta and CV Sarathi under the banner of E4 Entertainment. Rajesh Pinnadan has adapted the screneplay. On the technical front, the makers have got Madhu Neelakandan as the cinematographer and ‘Joji’ fame Justin Varghese as the music director.
Sreejith, the director of ‘Oru Thekkan Thallu Case’, is also making his debut as a scenarist with the upcoming biggie, ‘Bro Daddy’. Prithviraj is directing the film that his him along with superstar Mohanlal as the leads. Its shoot has already begun.
Kanakam Kamini Kalaham teaser is unique and interesting!
The teaser of Nivin Pauly’s new film ‘Kanakam Kamini Kalaham’ got released two days back. This 1-minute long teaser does not give any idea about the film yet its fun and unique. The lead characters Nivin, Grace Antony, Vinay Forrt, ‘Vikruthi’ fame Vincy Aloshious, Rajesh Madhavan feature in the teaser in the backdrop of a play dressed in strange costumes.
‘Kanakam Kamini Kalaham’ is written and directed by Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval of ‘Android Kunjappan Ver 5.25’ fame. Nivin’s own production house Pauly Jr Pictures is backing it. According to the film’s director, it is a family drama that also has dark humour and satirical elements. Like his debut film ‘Android Kunjappan’, this one also deals with ordinary people and their lives.
Joy Mathew, Jaffer Idukki, Sivadas Kannur, and a bunch of other talented actors are also part of the supporting cast. Vinod Illampally is the cinematographer and music is composed by the duo of Neha Nair and Yakzan Gary Pereira. Manoj Kannoth is the editor.
Suresh Gopi’s Kaaval trailer crosses 1 million views!
The trailer of Suresh Gopi’s much-anticipated film ‘Kaaval’ had dropped in recently. In just two days of its release, the video has clocked 1.2 million views in YouTube. The 2.26-minute long trailer is edited by Don Max and it gives a vague idea about the film’s storyline and the lead characters.
‘Kaaval’ is written and directed by Nithin Renji Panicker of ‘Kasaba’ fame. Suresh Gopi plays a character named Thamban and he appears in two get ups — one aged between 55-60 and the other as his younger self. Along with him, Renji Panicker is also seen in a full-length character named Antony.
Zaya David, Alencier Ley Lopez, IM Vijayan, Sujith Shankar, Kichu Tellus, Binu Pappu, Santhosh Keezhattoor, Muthumani and Pathamaraj Ratheesh are also part of the cast. Joby George of Goodwill Entertainments is producing the film.
Though the release has been delayed by over a year due to the pandemic, the producer has confirmed that the film will only be hitting the big screen first. An exact date has not yet nren announced.
Vetrimaaran to script Raghava Lawrence’s next; Here’s the announcement teaser of Adhigaaram
Raghava Lawrence is set to play the lead role in a new film titled ‘Adhigaaram’. It is scripted by ace filmmaker Vetrimaaran and his former assistant Durai Senthilkumar will be helming it. He has previously made films like ‘Ethir Neechal’, ‘Kakki Sattai’, ‘Kodi’ and ‘Pattas’. Vetrimaaran’s Grassroot Film Company is producing the film in association with Kathiresan’s Five Star Creations LLP.
Raghava Lawrence took to his Twitter handle to announce the project. He wrote,
“Hi friends and fans, I’m so happy and thrilled to announce that I’m acting in Vetri Maaran’s sir’s story, screenplay, and production, which is being directed by Durai Senthil Kumar. Happy to be associated with S Kathiresan after Rudhran. Need all your support and blessings.”
‘Adhigaaram’ is said to be a pan-Indian project and it is being planned as a realistic action flick. Shoot will begin with a 50 day schedule in Malaysia later this year. The film will also be shot in various locations across India.
Prithviraj directorial Bro Daddy to be shot outside Kerala
Prithviraj’s second directorial ‘Bro Daddy’ is set to go on floors soon. The makers have already started the pre-production works including location scouting. Since the Kerala government has not yet granted permission for film shootings, the makers are planning to shoot the film outside the State. We hear that the film has several indoor scenes and most of these portions will be shot in Chennai. Bengaluru is likely to be the other main location.
Shibu G Suseelan, a producer in the Malayalam industry, has requested the Kerala government to grant permission to shoot such films. Due to the current restrictions, daily wage labourers in the industry are struggling to meet ends. So he urged the government to reconsider their decision and allow film shootings to resume at the earliest.
‘Bro Daddy’ has superstar Mohanlal and Prithviraj as the leads. Others in the cast include Meena, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Murali Gopy, Kaniha Soubin Shahir and Lalu Alex. The film is scripted by debutants Sreejith N and Bibin Maliekal. Antony Perumbavoor is producing ir under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas.
