Thamarapoo: Watch the first song from Kunchacko Boban’s Kuttanadan Marpappa!

Kunchako Boban starrer Kuttanadan Marpappa is gearing up for release. The movie is currently in the final stages of post-production and is expected to hit screens this month. As informed earlier, the makers have released the first song today evening via the movie’s official Facebook page.

Kuttanadan Marpapa marks the directorial debut of cinematographer Sreejith Vijayan. Kunchacko Boban plays John, a photographer in the movie, while Aditi Ravi of ‘Alamara’ and ‘Aadhi’ fame plays his romantic interest. Yesteryear actress Shanthi Krishna is playing a crucial role as Kunchacko Boban’s mother in the movie.

The movie has an all-fun gang of Hareesh Kanaran, Ramesh Pisharody, Soubin Shahir, Dharamjan, Aju Varghese, Salim Kumar, Innocent and Tiny Tom as part of the supporting cast. With so many comedy actors on board, the movie promsies to be a full on fun entertainer.

Kuttanadan Marpappa is jointly funded by Haseeb Haneef, Noushad Alathur and Aji Medayil. Arvind Krishna is the cinematographer and Rahul Raj is handling the music department. The movie is be presented under the banner of Malayalam Movie Makers and Grande Film Corporation.

Autorikshawkkarante Bharya: Biju Menon and Parvathy to team up for the first time!

Parvathy has been in the news ever since she gave her opinion about Mammootty’s Kasaba. The actress was subjected to extreme trolling and bullying in social medias. But she stood by what she said and earned respect from many who supported her views. On the professional front, Parvathy has two Malayalam movies coming up – My Story and Anjali Menon’s next.

As per latest reports, Parvathy has signed for a new film. She will be playing the female lead in the movie adaptation of award winning writer M Mukundan’s short story ‘Autorikshawkkarante Bharya’. The writer himself is penning the screenplay and dialogues for the movie.

The story revolves around a lazy auto rickshaw driver Sajeevan, hailing from Meethalappura in Mahe. While Biju Menon will be seen portraying Sajeevan’s role, Parvathy plays Radhika, who is a bold and determined woman. After she enters the lazy Sajeevan’s life, circumstances force her to take up the auto rickshaw for their living.

The movie will be directed by Harikumar, who has made several movies in the 80s and 90s like Udyanapalakan, Ezhunnallathu, Sukrutham etc. Last year, he made the critically acclaimed ‘Clint’ with Unni Mukundan and Rima Kallingal in the lead roles. His upcoming movie with Parvathy and Biju Menon is expected to go on floors sometime this year.

Reports about hit maker Shafi teaming up with Mammootty have been doing the rounds for a long time. The director himself has also confirmed it in a few interviews. Shafi’s brother, director Rafi is scripting this movie, which is tipped to be a fun entertainer. Rafi is currently busy with the upcoming Dileep starrer Professor Dinkan, which is also scripted by him.

Shafi-Rafi duo’s Mammootty’s movie will go on floors only after the completion of Professor Dinkan. Shafi has directed the megastar in movies like Thommanum Makkalum, Chattambinadu and Venicile Vyapari. The team of Shafi, Rafi and Mammootty have previously worked together in 2007 for the superhit movie Mayavi. The trio will be eyeing to repeat the same when they team after a long gap of over a decade.

Mammootty meanwhile has a slew of projects coming up in the next couple of years. Parole, Uncle and Peranbu are his upcoming releases. He is currently shooting for Shaji Padoor’s Abrahaminte Santhathikal after which he will be joining the sets of writer Sethu’s maiden directorial Oru Kuttandan Blog.

Official: Anirudh to compose music for Rajinikanth’s next!

Last week, Sun Pictures made a surprise announcement about their new movie with superstar Rajinikanth. One of Kollywood’s most talented filmmakers, Karthik Subbaraj is helming this high profile project. Latest development in the camp is that the young sensation Anirudh Ravichander has been signed as the composer. The official announcement came today via Sun Pictures’ official Twitter handle.

Signing Anirudh has come as a pleasant surprise as most expected Santhosh Narayanan to compose for this movie. Given Santhosh’s rapport with director Karthik Subbaraj and Rajinikanth, it was almost certain that they would get him on board. Karthik’s all three films – Pizza, Jigarthanda, Iraiva – as well as Rajinikanth’s Kabali and Kaala had music by Santhosh. So, Anirudh being roped in for this new movie is actually a refreshing change.

Anirudh has carved a niche for himself in the industry despite being around for just 6 years. In such a short career, he has scaled great heights. The youngster has already composed for big stars like Vijay, Ajith, Suriya, Pawan Kalayan and Jr NTR. A Rajinikanth project is the fruit of his talent and years of hardwork.

Shoot for this yet-to-be titled movie will be commencing by May and the makers have plans to wrap it up by the end of this year. More details regarding the other cast and crew will be announced in the coming days. Stay tuned for more updates!

Last week, Sun Pictures took everyone by surprise by announcing their new movie with superstar Rajinikanth. One of Kollywood’s most talented filmmakers, Karthik Subbaraj is helming this high profile project. The director being a huge Rajinikanth fan himself is certain to come up with a quality film for his idol.

Latest buzz is that Karthik has approached Vijay Setupathi to play the villain role in this movie. Such rumours are quite normal whenever a big project is announced but the possibility of this one materializing cannot be dismissed as such. There is a slight credibility to the speculations, considering the fact that Vijay Setupathi is very close to Karthik Subbaraj.

The actor has been a part of Karthik’s all three movies – Pizza, Jigarthanda and Iraivi. If Karthik manages to get Vijay Setupathi to play the baddie opposite Rajinikanth, it will be nothing short of a treat for movie lovers. The former’s grey-shaded villany act in Vikram Vedha was widely appreciated and won him a lot of fans. All we can do now is to hope that a Vijay Sethupathi-Rajinikanth face off really happens, on-screen.

Meanwhile, director Karthik Subbaraj and his team is busy with the process of finalizing the supporting cast and crew. Shoot for the movie will be commencing by May and the makers have plans to wrap it up by the end of this year.

Megastar Mammootty starrer Parole is gearing up for release this month. The movie directed by ad filmmaker Sharrath Sandith looks very promising courtesy the impressive promo stills. The makers have released another lovely poster featuring Mammootty and a kid happily playing a game of football. It is extremely contrasting to the posters that were released earlier.

It has been a while since Mammootty has played a role posed a challenge to him as a performer. Most often it is the star in him who takes center stage leaving behind the terrific actor in him unutilized. However, his character in Parole is said to be a performance oriented one.

Mammootty plays the role of ‘sakhavu’ Alex in the movie. The movie travels through three different phases of his life. According to the makers, the megastar has given such an intense performance that would remind the viewers of his earlier days.

Ajith Poojappura, a jailer in real life, has penned Parole based on some real life incidents. The movie has Ineya and Miya George as the two female leads. While Ineya plays Mammootty’s wife, Miya will be seen in his sister’s role. ‘Baahubali’ fame Prabhakar is playing a significant part in Parole.

Suraj Venjaramoodu, Krishna Kumar, Irshad, Sijoy Varghese, Sohan Seenulal, Lalu Alex, Sudheer Karamana, Alencier Ley and Muthumani form the movie’s huge supporting cast. Parole is being produced under the banner of Antony D’Cruz Entertainment.

Young filmmaker H Vinoth has impressed one and all in Kollywood with his first two movies itself. Both his movies – Sathuranga Vettai and Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru – were critically and commercially successful. There has been a lot of speculations about the director’s next movie. He had earlier pitched scripts to stars like Vijay and Suriya but as per latest reports, he will be teaming up with Thala Ajith next.

Leading Tamil magazine Vikatan was the first to break the news. Reportedly, Vinoth had narrated a script to Ajith after the release of his debut film Sathuranga Vettai. But, it could not materialize then and they both moved to their respective projects. After the success of Theeran Adhigaaram Ondru, Vinoth had met Ajith once again and the star has given his nod this time around.

H Vinoth’s debut film, Sathuranga Vettai, had a relatively lesser known star cast but emerged as a sleeper hit and won critical acclaim as well. His second film, Theeran Adhigaram Ondru, which was released last year, is based on true events from the Operation Bawaria case. The movie starring Karthi in the lead has been rated as one of the best Tamil films of last year.

Ajith fans will be hoping that Vinoth comes up with something interesting for their star as well. Ajith meanwhile is all set to start shooting for Viswasam, which marks his fourth time collaboration with director Siva. The movie bankrolled by Sathya Jyothi Films is slated to go on floors this month.

Kaala teaser release postponed to tomorrow!

Rajinikanth fans across the world were eagerly waiting for this day for the teaser release of his upcoming movie Kaala. The makers had earlier announced that the teaser will be released today morning but they have now postponed it to tomorrow. The reason for the same was informed by producer Dhanush through a tweet which reads,

Due to the demise of respected Jagadguru Poojyashri Jayaendra Saraswati Shankaracharya, as a mark of respect Kaala teaser will be released on 2nd March. Apologies to all the fans who were eagerly waiting for the teaser.

Kaala, directed by Pa Ranjith is a gangster flick based in the Mumbai underworld. It is about a guy from Tirunelveli, who runs away in his childhood to Mumbai to become a powerful don living in the slums. Rajinikanth plays this character, Kaala, who heads the Tamil community in the slums of Dharavi.

Kaala’s supporting cast includes several noted actors from North India. Bollywood actress Huma Qureshi is playing the female lead, but she is not paired opposite Rajinikanth. Multiple national award winner Nana Patekar is essaying a pivotal role in the movie. Jackie Shroff, Pankaj Tripathi, Anjali Patil, Sayaji Shinde, Sakshi Agarwal, Samuthirakani, Sukanya, Ramesh Thilak and Sampath Raj are also part of the supporting cast.

Kaala is slated for a grand summer release on April 27. Expectations are sky-high and tomorrow’s teaser will give an idea of what’s in store!

Prithviraj’s epic film Aadujeevitham goes on floors!

Aadujeevitham is one of the most talked about movies in recent times. The movie directed by Blessy stars Prithviraj and Amala Paul in the lead roles. Shoot for the movie commenced today (March 1) in Thiruvalla with a customary switch on ceremony. Aadujeevitham is based on Benyamin’s award winning novel of the same name.

Prithviraj plays the lead role of Najeeb Mohammed while Amala Paul plays Sainu. The story is about the life of an abused migrant worker in Saudi Arabia. Prithviraj has now put on a few kilos so as to get a distinct look when he sheds weight for the latter half of the movie.

Naajeb, the protagonist in Aadujeevitham, gets stranded in the middle of deserts. The lone man undergoes different experiences from seclusion, emotional conflicts and survival struggles. So, Prithviraj will have to undergo drastic physical changes as the character demands it. The makers have planned to shoot the movie in various schedules through the time span of which Prithviraj will be undergoing multiple physical transformations.

Aadujeevitham is an ambitious project planned on a very big scale. Veteran Bollywood cinematographer KU Mohanan has been signed to crank the camera. Oscar winners AR Rahman and Resul Pookutty are also part of the technical team. The former is making a comeback to Malayalam film industry after 25 long years to compose music for this movie.

Aadujeevitham will be a challenging project for AR Rahman as his music should capture the different emotional and spiritual levels of an isolated man. As per the makers, the movie will have an international score with a blend of different genres of music such as Arabic, western and Indian.
