Mammootty suggested Jewel Mary for Utopiayile Rajavu
Mammootty starrer Kamal directorial film Utopiayile Rajavu is all set to hit the screens all over in the coming 27th of August this year as an Onam Release. It is a hopeful film for the fans of Mammootty and also for the Malayalam film lovers as it is coming from the team of Mammootty and Kamal who gave us many beautiful films in these years. Jewel Mary is playing the female lead in this film and now an interesting news about her casting has come out in the Media and it was said by the director Kamal himself.
Jewel mary become popular through Television as she was the anchor of the famous dance program named D4 Dance in Mazhavil Manorama channel. From there she got the chance to make her debut in Mollywood as the heroine of Mammootty in the flick named Pathemary conceived by Salim Ahammad who had given us film like Adaminte Makan Abu. But the release of that film is delayed by some legal issue and all that. But very surprisingly Jewel mary had got the chance to become Mammootty’s heroine again in Kamal directorial Utopiayile Rajavu. It was really a great opportunity for her to work in back to back mammootty films as his female lead.
Now Kamal himself revealed to the media for the first time that it was Mammootty himself suggested her name to be the heroine of this film. When Mammootty heard the story and script he told Kamal that if he had not chosen any heroine yet then he will suggest a name. Then he said the name of Jewel Mary and said that she had worked with him in the last film he did.
Kamal said that it may be for the first time in his whole career that Mammootty recommending the name of a heroine for his film. Kamal said that even though he did know how she performed in Pathemary, the words of Mammootty had given him the confidence to cast Jewel Mary as the female lead of the flick. Kamal said this in the presence of Jewel and she was quite surprised to hear the story behind her casting.

Vijay’s Puli started the money hunt even before the release
Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay starrer flick Puli is all set to hit the screens on this coming September 17th and it will start screening from the auspicious eve of Vinayaka Chathurthi. The film is directed by Chimbu Devan is said to be a socio-fantasy film which uses a fair amount of special effects as well. It is reported that the flick will have more CGI works done it than the works done in Baahubali. The audio of the film had launched two days back and it has been getting awesome response from the audience as well. The teaser of the film also got great reception when it released weeks back. Now the anticipation is on sky high as the film is in its final stage of post production works.
But the latest update from the Kollywood says that Puli has already started making money even before its release through distribution rights from various areas of release. The telugu rights of the film is said to be sold for a record price and it is said that the SVR media bagged its rights for a sum of 8 crore rupees. It was them who distributed Vijay’s earlier blockbuster named Thuppakki as well. They believes that this one will be a bigger success than Thuppakki as the expectation had reached the sky level height.
The film also making money from overseas rights and distribution rights from various places like Karnataka, Kerala and north India. It will be dubbed in Hindi, Kannada, Telugu etc and that had increased the chance of making a wider business for the film just like the flick Baahubali had did worldwide.
The flick is been planning to release in 3500 screens all over India and this will be the biggest release of Vijay’s career. This 3500 screen will be in India alone and the worldwide market is also open for the film to do great business. The screens in India will be distributed as 1000 screens in Tamilnadu, Telengana and Andhra Pradhesh, 1000 screens in North India and other 500 screens in Kerala and Karnataka. This screens will increase and will reach up to 3500 screens.
Will Baahubali be India’s Oscar bet ? SS Rajamouli reacts
While reacting at the recent Oscar news on Baahubali, SS Rajamouli burst out laughing. Now, there is a buzz is that, this movie will definitely receive an Oscar Award for its stunning visuals etc. Earlier, SS Rajamouli’s Eega movie was shortlisted as Indian contender for Oscar.
Well Rajamouli is not at all bothered about Oscar or any other awards.He is still busy with the next part of Baahubali which is about to hit the screens on 2016. The official release date has not been confirmed for Baahubali-The Conclusion. The second part as of rumored now will be more heavier than the first one, since the first part became a success beyond the expectations and breaked almost every collection record in Indian cinema scenario.
The buzz of Oscars for Baahubali is based on the visuals and VFX of the movie.Since it has reached to the Hollywood standards it is expected by the fans to have an Oscar sector. But Oscar is not an easy go for Baahubali as for Hollywood the movie wont be any great treat on its visuals. For Indian cinema Baahubali achieves big time in the technical aspects with less artistic values. So the chances for this is very less. Baahubali was a movie which hold crew members from even Hollywood. Thus what SS Rajamouli devised from it was something of great visual value. But this cannot be considered as the eligibility for a chance for Oscars.
Therefore more chances for the Oscar vote from India will be any other movies with more artistic value and not visual boldness. Oscar awards are usually for those artistically sound and technically innovative stuff. In the case of Baahubali even-though a huge effort is made from the crew, it doesn’t offers anything new as far as Art as a medium is concerned. Baahubali was spectacular, both visually and technically. Else it wont be of great relevance on the award desk.
The truth is none of the crew cares or is worried about this as for them the huge acceptance is more than enough and the movie has become the greatest financial success of Indian cinema ever. As for them, the movie was intended to be a commercial epic dram which astounds the audiences with the technical reach of cinema.
I am not staying with Sai Kumar says Bindu Panicker
Last day a controversy spread through social media as well as many television channels which involved actress Bindu Panicker, actor Sai Kumar and his wife Prasanna Kumari. It has been a known fact that Sai Kumar and his wife Prasanna Kumari is not in good terms and Sai Kumar had filed a divorce petition against her in the family court long time back. All his time there also news that Sai kumar and Actress Bindhu panicker are living together as they are planning to get married after the divorce with Prasanna Kumari materialized. Both Sai Kumar and Bindu Panicker had attended many public functions together and they had made clear in front of the media that they are in a relationship.
But the problem become more serious when the family court last day had rejected Sai Kumar’s appeal for divorce from Prasanna Kumari. Prsananna Kumari then came out and said that it was Bindu who is the cause of her husband staying away from her. She said that when he began to stay with Bindu Panicker he began to go away from her as a husband that later ended up in filing a divorce petition against her.
But Bindu Panicker had come out today and told to Manorama Online that the allegation of Prasanna Kumari is not at all true and she did not have to respond to fabricated story by someone. She said that she is not living with Sai Kumar as he was not legally divorced from Prasanna Kumari. She asks how one can live with a man if he had legally married to another woman. Bindu Panicker also said that if we check their address proofs we can find out that she and Sai Kumar had different address and they are living separately.
Bindu Panicker said that people who knows her and people who are close to her knows her position and the innocence of her in this issue raised by Prasanna Kumari. Sai kumar had reacted to his wife in a very angry manner while was given divorce petition against her and he also raised allegations against her family members who insulted and harassed him.
Injustice against Manu Jagat still continues from Baahubali team
We had reported earlier that Manu Jagat who was actually the art director of the magnum opus film Baahubali was not given his due credits even in the titles of the film and he was termed as only an art assistant in the title credits given by the production team. Famous art director Sabu Cyril was the production designer of the film and people thinks that Sabu Cyril was the one who is behind the art works in the film which was in fact the life of Baahubali.
Manu Jagat expressed his pain and his thoughts on this right after the release of the film and Sabu Cyril himself guaranteed him to correct the mistake done by the team and he said the title credits will be corrected and he will surely awarded with the title credit of art director for his great effort for the film. But nothing has changed at all and still the film is showing with the same title credits which shows Manu Jagat as an art assistant.
Manu Jagat says that after all his cries and confirmation of the fact from the great Sabu Cyril himself, many medias still says that the art work of Baahubali is done by Sabu Cyril and they don’t have the time and space to mention the name of Manu Jagat who actually did it. He says that he had given 2 years of his life for the film and still got this from the team.
It was Sabu Cyril who called him to work in this film and he is greatful to him in all respects and he is like the best think happened in his life as a Guru of his and the one who believed in his caliber. Unfortunately Manu was not able to work at the last schedule of the film due to health problems which was quite serious but recovered well thanks to the doctors who took care of him.
During his bad times Sabu Cyril called him and told him that his name is given under the title of art director as well. But it was not what he saw at theaters. He did not even invited to the audio release of the film even after it was occurred at Cochin. Manu Jagat says that the team behind the film had insulted and questioned the artist in him and now he do not want any credits but want people to know what he did for that film and want to the pain through he and his family going on.
Raghava Lawrence to come up with 2 films with Vendhar movies
There has been many reports in the media that the fourth film in The Muni series and the 3rd part of the Kanchana series is titled as Motta Siva Ketta Siva. The news came yesterday that Raghava Lawrence who is the maker and lead actor of this series of films had made a deal with the Vendhar movies to make Kanchana 3 for them and they had decided to give it the title Motta Siva Ketta Siva. But in fact it is not a part of the Kanchana series.
Vendhar Movie told Onlookers Media that it will be another film based on the character of Kanchana 2 and will not be a 3rd part of Kanchana. Now Raghava Lawrence is working in the film Motta Siva Ketta Siva for Vendhar movies and it is an action thriller. But they made a deal with him to make a horror-comedy as well along with this project and as per reports it is named as Naaga which is a big budget film.
Kanchana came in 2011 as the second part of the 2007 horror comedy film named Muni which was written and directed by Raghava Lawrence. The 2011 version is titled as Muni 2- Kanchana. It has Laxmi Rai in the female lead opposite Raghava Lawrence and it also has Sarath Kumar. Then in this year came Kanchana 2 which has Raghava Lawrence, Nithya Menon and Tapsee Pannu in lead roles. This one also was scripted and directed by Raghava Lawrence. It was marketed as Muni 3 (Kanchana 2). The first part Muni has lead artist like Raj Kiran, Vedhika etc with Raghava Lawrence.
All the three films in the Muni series become super successes at box office and become the second biggest successful franchise of all time in south India after the Singam franchise. The last edition of Kanchana was earned more than 100 crores from worldwide and thus it had become the first film in franchise to gross more than 100 crore rupees net in South India.
The first part had earned close to 30 crore and as it was low budget film it was a super success. Then comes the second part which had earned gross around 50 crore rupees and the third one had earned more than 100 crores as well.
Mohanlal’s big budget films are on its way
The Complete Actor Mohanlal is all set to give us some big budget visual spectacle and as per reports his most of the upcoming films will be high budget films. Once producer Sandra Thomas of the Friday Film House said in a media interview that as a producer when she assessed the Malayalam film industry and the market of different stars here she understood the fact that Mohanlal is the only actor in Mollywood who can assure a profit for the producer if he is making a big budget film. And everyone knows this truth for years as in Mollywood more number of big budget films were made with Mohanlal as the hero and he is undoubtedly the man who had given more number of successful films in the industry as well as the one who had given more number of record breaking successes.
Every Individual collection record in the film industry belongs to his films as well. Even director Roshen Andrews said in a recent interview with famous anchor John Brittas that the so called box office failure named Casanovva of his with Mohanlal is actually a film which had done fairly good business in a financial level. May it have acquired bad mouth publicity and all but as far as the financial scheme of things it never made the financier in distress.
The upcoming film of Mohanlal like Puli Murugan directed by Vysakh said to have budget around 15-20 cr Rupees and it is financing by Tomichan Mulaku Padam of Mulakupadam films. Then comes a Priyadarshan film which is touted as the biggest film ever in Mollywood with whopping budget of almost 28 crore rupees and it will be an action thriller planned to shoot in Russia completely. Puli Murugan is also an action-adventure film with lots of unique elements in it. According to trustable sources Mohanlal is also doing a film with SS Rajamouli and it will also be a big budget film and will be multi lingual as well.
The ever widening fan force and popularity making Mohanlal the emperor of box office and in star value and fan power no one in Mollywood can ever ream of coming anyway near him. That may be the reason why he is still the favourite choice for the financers when it comes to big budget films.
Raghava Lawrence’s astonishing kind act for poor
Raghava Lawrence had just astonished everybody with a shocking and surprising kind act for poor people yesterday. It was yesterday that the first look and title of his upcoming film Katta Siva Motta Siva had released which will be financed by Vendhar Movies. Apparently it is 2 movie deal between Raghava Lawrence and Vendhar Movies as they are doing 2 films together back to back. One is the film named Katta Siva Motta Siva based on the character of Kanchana 2 which had already started its filming and the another is the film titled Naaga which will be a horror comedy and will be big budget one as well.
During the title and first look releasing function Raghava Lawrence has announced that he had receive an advance of 1 crore rupees from vendhar films to do these two films and he had decided to donate that whole amount for the poor and needy people. When he first told this thought of him to his family members they thought he was kidding and out of his mind. But he had decided to do it as he wants to do something he could for the society. He said that he will divide that money to minimal amounts and will distribute it to poor and needy.
As a start he had given rupees 1 lakh to famous tv show anchor DD (Dhivyadharshini) who is adopted 3 orphan children. By seeing his kind act many people had donated money to that fund for charity right at the moment.
He said that people from anywhere can contact him if they are really in need for money and after checking the authenticity of the needs he will give away money to the ones who needs it. People from all states of India can come to him and the money is for all.
It is really a wonderful and astonishing act as no celebrity in India ever donated 1 crore rupees for charity at a particular moment till now. Raghava Lawrence had really made us wonder struck and we really want to appreciate his act and his mind to do that.
